LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Cramzon Ad Creator by recursor 2022-04-05T19:25:53Z

highly impressive! very cool concept, and beautifully executed! loved the various bonuses, alliterations and little similar additions.

at the end, it seemed like the end-state didn't happen, and i was left on ad 17/17 (which i could submit infinitely). before end-glitch, final score was 258$. loved it! :)

*look mom, i do a marketing!*

Fortold by MrTroy 2022-04-05T19:03:23Z

it was short, but the idea felt promising! nicely done!

Akashica by Skruffye 2022-04-06T13:37:25Z

this looks very nice and beautifully written! sadly, i can't get to actually play the game on linux.

Screen of Death by A-Flat Miner Studios 2022-04-05T19:32:49Z

really cool idea! sadly, windows-only means unplayable. :(

Don't Pop the Bubble! by fractalsunrise 2022-04-05T19:05:54Z

very nice idea! simple but well done! a timer/high-score function might have been nice, too! :)

Mayor Necrohamster by BinarySpark 2022-04-05T19:41:57Z

the theme does feel somewhat absent, but nevertheless this is a really impressive jam game! loved it! :)

Demain Sera Bien by Xwilarg 2022-04-05T01:48:15Z

50 years! which feels unlikely considering this character kept being smashed in the face by a full sectional sofa! :D fun concept, well done! :)

The Last Keeper by Bugord 2022-04-08T03:05:45Z

really nice one! at first i thought i was smart by surviving on one tile, and then placing a new one just before it collapsed, stacking up mana to make the other buildings. but that was definitely a boring strategy!

fun concept!

LD50.exe by Antsa 2022-04-05T17:08:52Z

trying to run the .AppImage returns the following error:

this is a really impressive game for a jam! well done! <3

(hurray for godot!)

Message in a Bottle by hechi 2022-04-05T17:13:54Z

support for a web version from a linux player! this looks really nice! :)

Decay Season by Morricore 2022-04-05T18:19:58Z

nice! made it to about day 21. game was simple, but fun!

sadly, at the end, the final screen had some display issue, but i could still make out most of it.

Decay Season by Morricore 2022-04-05T18:34:09Z

@morricore removed the screenshot, just wanted you to see how glitched it was.

Thanks, Socrates by WilhelmStein 2022-04-05T18:07:20Z

your zip download is windows-only. might want to correct that (either in adding mac and linux launchers, or removing the part that says it's compatible). looks like a nice game, otherwise!

Thanks, Socrates by WilhelmStein 2022-04-05T18:36:35Z

@learus web version helps! thanks for doing that! :)

edit: played it. nicely done! good job on the dialogue options!

Paranomaly by TheGamerASD 2022-04-07T00:39:39Z

i know it's not always simple to do so, but if you had a web or a linux version, i would love to give your game a try! it looks nice! :)

Click to Continue by Daniel Foutz 2022-04-05T18:32:41Z

fun idea, well done!

my only feedback would be that for such an audio-heavy game, a subtitles option might make the game more accessible to some folks! :)

Horde of Methuselah by mrjeremy 2022-04-05T22:36:12Z

absolutely amazing game! this is highly impressive, one of my favorites i've played so far!

> And can you rid the island of the zombie infestation?

actually, no.. because on my map one tiny island in the bottom-right corner was out of reach from any shelter. :P Capture d'écran 2022-04-05 18:28:04.png

the buttons sometimes felt bugged, as i had often had to click one 4 or 5 times for the cursor to change to the desired building. towards the end, it did start feeling a tad laggy, but that might be a browser issue. and the music looping would've been nice, but i eventually figured pressing escape and then resuming the game did restart the song. :)

anyways, again, wow! and thanks for sharing the source, i'm definitely interested to learn a thing or two from what you've done! <3

Only Hugh Can Prevent Forest Fires by bixarrio 2022-04-05T18:57:51Z

took me quite a while to understand what was going on. it felt somewhat counter-intuitive to display the tooltips for actions you couldn't do (needing to fill the bucket before dousing a fire, for example, or figuring out that the connect-chain command required you to grab a chain from the quad (which also took me a while to spot)).

but overall, you can feel a lot of effort went into it, but by the time i managed to feel like i knew what i had to do, and refilled the quad's fuel, everything was burning. :D

nice!

Settling On Mars by Daniel Whittaker 2022-04-05T19:31:33Z

looks really beautiful! alas, windows-only. :(

Cosmic Castaway by Perrin 2022-04-07T01:30:09Z

very nice! took me a while to solve the map puzzly, mostly because i missed some upper parts of the shelves. the music box was easy, being a musician, but i can imagine it being confusing for non-music folks.

nonetheless, this was highly impressive for a jam game! amazingly done!

Stone Sabbath by Caladrius 2022-04-07T00:34:49Z

wow! i tried playing it on a laptop with only a trackpad, so obviously that didn't help me! but i loved what you've managed during this jam! the music is great, and the whole word is immersive and beautiful! and the story adds that little something that most jam games seem to lack. impressive! <3

*in the end, after a long and dedicated battle, cormoran was too strong for my clonky trackpad..!*

Precious Sleep by mhm32167 2022-04-05T17:00:10Z

loved it! very interesting take on the theme, and quite fun to play! well done! <3

high score: 197

Keep It Warm by Fifut 2022-04-05T20:31:20Z

really nice! well done, especially for a first! had fun!

*final score: 199*

(also, nice a to see a fellow godot dev!)

Live, Flame, Live! by SayuriNyooko 2022-04-05T19:44:47Z

the screenshots make me wish there was a linux or web version!

Live, Flame, Live! by SayuriNyooko 2022-04-08T03:28:00Z

@stupidhobbit just got around to testing the linux version! had a mild cursor/window glitch at first but then it worked! thanks for that. really loved the ambiance you've managed to create. the graphics are nice, the sounds too! and those eyes when you run out of light! :id:

well done!

CliffCart by Payaosito 2022-04-05T18:59:40Z

very nice!!

Let's Do Alien Taxes! by BurnsDesigns 2022-04-06T12:47:07Z

nicely done! fun concept! even in full screen mode, the text was sometimes difficult to read on some of the documents, but then i realized that wasn't the important info. i really liked how the theme is implied, and not all out there in your face, like so many other games (including mine..)! loved it! well done!

Flowers Photos & Pills by KatAsunder 2022-04-06T12:25:01Z

cannot play it as it is windows-only, but the art does indeed look amazing! <3

Flowers Photos & Pills by KatAsunder 2022-04-06T21:12:00Z

@katasunder thanks so much for adding that! i loved the mood y'all managed to create!

*(and extra gratitude for the wholesome representation! <3)*

poisoned hero by subvertissement 2022-04-05T17:28:40Z

thanks for your feedback, @zack-hd @selicre @payaosito & @miraculousmelon !

there are clearly issues with how some things are presented. the top-timer going from 60 seconds down to 30 seconds after a few rounds of poison was intentional, and i wanted to make more difficulty levels for a better sense of progression, but ran out of time and didn't manage to present in a way that was clear for the player!

and the issue with the timer continuing for a few seconds even after you drink the antidote is indeed something i would fix in a later update! it would *make sense* that it takes a few moments for the antidote to do its thing on you, but that's an easy cop out and it clearly wasn't planned that way..! X)

the RGB/RYB thing should definitely be cleared up in the "how to play" menu page. glad y'all figured it out! :)

poisoned hero by subvertissement 2022-04-05T17:52:31Z

*(my own current high score is surviving for 12m 30s!)*

poisoned hero by subvertissement 2022-04-06T12:23:33Z

@heloise yeah, i realized too late that a bug happens when you try to play again from within the game. refreshing the page should work, thouhg. definitely will fix it after the rating period is over!

the instructions will also be made clearer!

(basically, once you've clicked on a flower at the bottom, it takes some time to collect it. once you have a flower, you can click the corresponding color-button just above that. these are the ingredients for your antidote. so i you only click the red button once, clicking the arrow will craft a red potion. finally, if the prompt at the top asks for a red drink, clicking the red potion will save you from the poison. (but apparently it's a strong poison and you need lots of different potions!))

anyways, thanks for playing!

poisoned hero by subvertissement 2022-04-06T12:48:48Z

@jzucc12 that orange text glitch was... *checks notes*.. yes, totally intentional! :eyes:
