I'm curious now 6_6 I couldn't find other players...
I liked the graphics a lot, but that beeping/typing sound when the dialogue is appearing a n n o y e d me deeply D: Too bad you didn't have more time to expand this game. Do you plan on working on that?
The main success points for me are the graphics & bgms, they fit so well in this game! I got really frustrated for my first... ten attempts? I dunno, but it took a lot of patience to not giving up. I guess I didn't played for a longer time because of the size of the map... I saw some earlier comments and I totally agree with reducing the walls heights. It's kinda hard to see what's happening D: Maybe a mini-map would fix this issue. Oh, and a visible score/max time/lives saved on the UI would be neat as well. I had the feeling that my past runs didn't really matter to the game, when it all seems to be about getting better at surviving.
With all that said, this reminds me o PSX games. It feels close to completion, with different rooms/worlds, bosses and stuff. Did you guys play Rat Attack? Congratz!

if you don't speak portuguese then I'm not making sense churrasco bb gringos
@rafaelspbarbosa é o Games Indie Brasil: https://www.facebook.com/gamesindiebrasil/ olha o artigo que fizeram sobre o nosso: http://gamesindiebrasil.com/ascension-gods-test/
fala com eles pelo inbox do facebook mesmo, ainda que demore um pouquinho o Gustavo (com quem falei) é super prestativo!
Too hard! WHY I couldn't kill a singe dragonnnnnnn It reminds me of Lagoon (SNES). BUT LAGOON DIDN'T KILL ME WITH SO LITTLE MERCY T___T
I played it three times and only at the second run I figured out what it was about. You really kept your promise of judging us haha. The changing coins were a nice touch to represent the score, I only missed two things ate your game:
a) a word to go with the coins, so we can be sure what was our score without having to come here at the site and
b) background music :( I gave you high enough Mood points, it would be 5/5 if there was music to take the mood deeper...
anyway, congrats for the game!!
Ooooh this is a toy! Totally unexpected! The spinning movement is so beautiful ;( Too bad my ugly computer is messing up everything I try to play here... Anyway, a beautiful toy! Congrats!
Wow, this one is amazing! Congratulations guys!! I can't complain about anything. The music just hit the point, the graphics go really well with the gameplay, the voice acting is lovely, Discovery, Otter, Biche and Dammit are charming enough for me not to forget their names haha. Such a good storyline to play along ^-^ I'd really enjoy playing a longer version of this one, like if this was chapter 01 and so on. Thanks for giving birth to this one! I'm voting full stars!
OOOOO I just saw the name again, episode one!!!!!
Please update this page when the sequence is out! Do you have a facebook page?
hey there :D I saw your post on that Pixel Art group on Facebook - I'm the guy whose computer crashed ;( - and I finally got to play Desumaton
and it's amazing *---*
The mechanics flow is smooth like melting butter (wat did I just say) Your art is way inspiring for me. Is this a compo entry? (I'm asking because there aren't any members listed)
I only wish it was longer, buy LD games seems destined to be short :Ç I'd really enjoy an expanded version of this game (with upgrades, maybe asteroids that cause effects on the little planet when you attract them).
Congratulations man (or woman)!
I couldn't go too far because I've been using a crappy computer with linux (nothing against linux except I hate it forever) since the LD days.
I really liked the main character design. Same thing with the smokish spacecraft and the resources. Actually, the first thing that came to my mind when I started playing Terraform was "Damn, someone else made a resource-collecting game haha". Our project used kinda the same base resources (wood, stone, water, fire & mana).
I just wished there was an explicit quest list (but that would be bringing you too close to what we did ;P )
Anyway, I liked this, really loved the protagonist! Congrats!
I was almost giving up because I didn't notice that the sticks were gonna end up becoming a tent. I was sure the purpose was to make a camp fire haha.
I wish this one was longer T________T The graphics, the voice acting and de water sfx, this is a very aesthetic piece of art you made.
Congratulations to the team!
I need to play this!!!
So, I finally got my computer and played this. I liked it a lot! A pity it was so short... but with the time we got I guess it couldn't be much longer ;( The entrance to Ant-Aid factory really caught my attention, the light was awesome on that fence! When Kowalski enters open spaces I got the feeling there's too much room, too few objects, but meh he's an ant so I think that kinda makes sense. Also the voice acting was just perfect <3 One of my highest rated games so far in this LD. Congratulations to the team! And thank you a lot for not forcing us to start it over if a non-villain was shot :p
also thanks @aumbra for the feedback on Ascension <3
Hey you :) I really liked the controls. At first I was (afraid, I was-) lost, but then it made sense. Too bad you couldn't finish it, it really looks promising. This computer I'm using sucks, I'm getting a new one soon then I can replay some LD games. I'll be back to check the changes on this one :D Good job man!
I've played before w/o dialogues. I'll play again before rating.
This game made me remember another, kinda old I guess. I don't know if it was a N64 game... The only things I can remember about it are: it was an adventure/point-n-click, the protagonist is a girl (maybe she had a familiar, a cute little animal) and the first scene was at some docks, near a emerged submarine again. (if any of you reading this know what the hell is this game's name, please tell me <_<).
Anyway, good job so far. I'll be back!
Hey you, I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be, but the only one moving was my character, everyone else stood still. Is this a multiplayer game? Is it my ubuntu OS that didn't work well with it?
SO BEAUTIFUL!! LONG LIVE THEM CROISSANTSSSSSSS The spinning map mechanic was pure cleverness, the ambient transition is really well made. Sometimes the projectiles would fill the screen and the game lagged, but it didn't crash, so I could go through it to the end. I only wish the game was longer, had new swords, spells, online multiplayer modes, chocolate croissants... :P One of my favorites so far. Congrats!
Just played this one. There's a funny thing for me: the storyline is REALLY similar to this game we made for the last LD (37 - Smoke and Mirrors - http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-37/?action=preview&uid=125421). We got a high score on "mood", I suggest you guys play it just to check if I'm exaggerating xD
I liked Her Name a lot. I finished it once and got curious to see what are the other endings (I suppose they exist, after all this choices the old man faces). I don't know if I got the "true" ending... Gonna play it again later to check this. I played the original version. I don't know if you corrected it in the update, but when you start over the dialogue box didn't reset, her final lines were there at the opening scene. No big deal though.
The only thing I didn't like was the dialogue constant beep. It kinda ruined the mood of the last scene, when there's a part of the conversation that is really long.
This is one of my favorite kinds of games, I ought to work on something related for the next LD.
That's it for my comment. Good job guys, I'll be seeing you xD
Not much to say here. I saved this page 2 weeks ago because I had no computer at the time, so I just played it now.
AND THIS IS UBER AWESOME POWERPUFFED MARSHMALLOW cool I love the graphics The music is the coolest thing I've seen in this LD so far
I saw your rating and got really surprised, but now I understand haha Congratz dudes, this one is downloaded so I can play more <3
Hey you :) I played the browser version of Gnome Town and it didn't have any music, just the bgm for shooting. Is that right or was it a browser bug? It got kinda hard after the third gnome 6_6 And I hated SO MUCH when I needed to start jumping lol Anyway, congratz!
First things first: aren't you the guy who played our Ascension @ twitch? :p
I really liked A growing adventure. The expanding map got me nervous tho, because the coins are kinda limited and I couldn't find a way to recover HP without them/the apple trees, so when I got to lvl 16 there was this big armored knight that I couldn't beat withouy some blacksmith investment, and all my gold was gone, then I had to give up :( I guess I would not play the same way in a second run. Graphics were very nice, I only missed a background music. You could expand controls for WASD too, it prevents exhausting the hand :p
And this small world of yours is BIG AF hahaha Nice game anyway, played it for longer than an hour!
I guess I'm repeating what has been said before, but the flow system was great, I've never seen anything like this (maybe on NDS games, but still not kinda the same mechanic).
I played it on Firefox/Ubuntu and it was kinda laggy, so I couldn't go very far in the gameplay...
Good work!
Pretty enjoyable <3 Too bad the laser stage couldn't be finished. I liked the graphics & music a lot, it really fits the gameplay. I hope you plan to keep developing this one! (I can even see a boss to be beaten by entering his body and entering again his inner parts xD)
hey @clickmation you went to our game page and asked for a tutorial to be posted here, so here it is
Ascension is kinda confusing at first, even for the creators The game is turn based. You get mana every turn, and when your mana ends you should skip a turn because there's not much to be done, since all of the actions use mana
At the left side of the screen you get action buttons. Click on them to change what clicking will do. The little bag is for collecting resources (it takes mana to do that). The other five icons at the top part are for imbuing (adding a kind of resource to the selected terrain). You should try them to find out what they do ;)
(continues. . .)
When you try to act on the map, a tooltip pops up. At the bottom part of the tooltip it shows how much of each resource you'll get (if you're collecting), or how many you'll have to use to imbue (or build) on that terrain.
There's also temples and villages. Temples protect villages and forest from harm. Villages increase your mana gain when skipping turn (when they are touching a temple), and also increase your VALUE gain when skipping turn (when they are touching a god statue). You'll only get the recipes for the statues after a few turns.
Eventually a mountain turns into a volcado. You must quickly deactivate it AND find a way to block the lava from expanding over your map (it expands each turn, even if the volcanoes are dead).
I think that's it. Tell us of your progress if you play it again!
Man (or woman), this was really really fun to play. The music is very funny, the same for the character design. Too sad it was so short ;( The little guys remind me of OLIMAR from Pikmin :P
I'd play it more if it was longer... Congrats!!
OMGGG I WAS SO LOST When it says "cursors" I mistook it for mouse cursor haahahahahahahaha I started to die and was desperate, nothing I did worked, there were space cows pooping nonstop and nothing I could do. Then I tried again and figured it out. It was really fun! Congrats! I just wish there was a bigger forcefield or something like that, protecting the nearby sky. Maybe if the dragon started flying above the buildings...
YES (em avaliação)
So, I played it against one of the creators (burnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn) and it was very fun (I guess I would enjoy it more if I played against someone else, I ONLY WON ONCE!!!). My feeling is that this game is complete, really. Some other stuff could be added in updates tho, but it doesn't fell like there's anything missing!
I loved the art (opening, menu, help screen, fight, game over), the parts go really well together. That goes for the music as well!
The only thing I didn't like was that we are not able to jump & walk at the same time, this made me confused (that goes for the bullet/reload section at the UI). Although the person (creator) I played with said this was designed to be this way, I kept wishing the player could move while jumping. The dodging would be way more fluid this way (imho).
That said, I'll be looking forward to play this one again :) C O É G R A T U L A T I O N S RAPAZIADA
Oh boy, I'm without a computer, my old one kinda exploded during the LD days and I'm waiting for a new one to arrive. Just to say I saved your game page so I don't miss it when the time comes. This looks pretty cool! I'll be back in some days :P
