Hey there, first of all, this was such a great idea, and you executed it well. I think it could benefit from the asteroids coming alot slower, even if its just at the beginning. I also think it should be cheaper to rebuild the buildings, because after I rebuild them I run out of shits and lose. I thought this was fun, but it would have been alot more fun if it lasted longer, also I am not sure if it does this already but maybe when an asteroid hits a building it shouldn't hurt the earth, that way you could purposely block asteroids when you start get to less shits. I had one more idea, not sure if this would be good or bad, but maybe when an asteroid hits the earth, it leaves behind some extra shits, I did run out kinda fast. Good work, I really liked playing this game!
Thank you both! @thecrancher: indeed, some asteroids left shits after explode, but not always. Not enough time to balance the challenge, but at least you can play for some minutes. My record is 5:33:26 :) PD: and yes, asteroids only harms earth when hits its surface, not buildings, so you can get some strategy rotating the planet to use less valuable buildings as a shield.
Wow, what a great game! I've spent quite some time playing it. It isn't very easy though. At first sight I thought it is very similar to our game (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/daprince), but luckily it isn't :)
Hah! I had no idea what was happening for a while... great music! :)
Very polished for a game made in 24 hours! I felt like I wanted more feedback in game. When starting up the first time I felt a certain information overload when trying to figure out what to do. Maybe I'm just a slow learner :-) Great work!
I played this on Livestream a Few Days Ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiOC3F43xF0
This is really well done, I think there's a lot of thought that went into the design. The turret system was frustrating, but still... Made in 24 hours, very well done in my book.
Hi! I thought this game was a lot of fun. Good graphics, interesting gameplay.
There wasn't a lot of progression, mostly due to the limit to your defenses. It would be good to see an escalation of the kind of defense you can build. The birds and dragon didn't seem to do much. A buildup of automated defenses and a clicker-style economy would really suit this.
I liked it :D
Great game overall, some negatives I can think of is that it was a little hard to actually know what the different creatures do and after a while the gamleplay mostly resulted in running in a circle trying to BUY ALL THE THINGS. Still awesome nonetheless.
Interesting idea ! I think that a tutorial is missing.
Took me a while to figure out how it worked, but I really like the game. Wish I had more laser cannons, it was tough protecting the planet from both sides. My strategy is just to buy a whole lotta cows, then use them to make a bunch of birds and then just use lasers. Not really sure what the moinks did, although I guess they were supposed to be a central part?
Overall well done.
Muito bem feito, parabens! Claro que falta um pouco de arte mas ainda assim um jogo divertido!
OMGGG I WAS SO LOST When it says "cursors" I mistook it for mouse cursor haahahahahahahaha I started to die and was desperate, nothing I did worked, there were space cows pooping nonstop and nothing I could do. Then I tried again and figured it out. It was really fun! Congrats! I just wish there was a bigger forcefield or something like that, protecting the nearby sky. Maybe if the dragon started flying above the buildings...
Cool, really fun game! I like having the variety of mechanics for defending the planet combined with the RTS-ish economy management. Eventually though it got pretty overwhelming and I couldn't survive much longer than 2 minutes - the slow movespeed & spaced out turrets made it hard to defend when there was more than 1 asteroid. With some balance tweaks this could be really awesome. Great work!
This game is super cool, hard to believe it was made under Compo constraints. That said, there are still some aspects that could maybe use a little tweaking and polish. Mostly, just, game balance; figure out whether each item's cost is reasonable for the benefit you get from it, tweak spawn rates, movement speeds, etc. Maybe allow buildings to be hit multiple times before they are destroyed. Those sorts of tweaks are just about the only complaints I can level, here, the core mechanics are very cool.
Also, crystal shits.
