I really enjoyed my time playing this! Props on the interesting ground-destroying mechanic and the dual resource management. It is surprisingly well balanced and erfectly tailored for a short playtime (good for game jams). Congrats on this:)

A very slow and calm game that I enjoy. Unfortunately I only can play for about 5-10 min before the screen goes completely white but I had fun playing it. Thanks! :)

@inavtr Thank you, but white, what do you mean, after that it is completely white? Sounds like bug..

Really nice, would like to have it in mobile version. actually reminds me of "the battle cats", and would be nice to see progress after jam in that direction.

@tugaryn I think it's a bug. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to determine when exactly it happens (for example, whether it's after x number of depths or when x number of arms have spawned), but the entire tab turns white. I recorded my screen and it happened after 3:32 min
I was able to play for awhile and never saw a white screen (Running on chrome, maybe a browser issue?) I had a lot of fun playing though, was a really cool resource management game that was surprisingly well balanced :) I think the only issue I had playing was the mouths that convert the square resource into hearts, I made too many and ended up outproducing the tentacles I had made and couldn't really do anything, it would have been nice if there was a way to disable them. Overall really great job, really well polished

A love tile games and stratagies, so this one is match for me. Like the idea, and balance. Sure, it could become some really great game, but even now I spend time with that game with pleasure) Thanks!

Wasn’t able to beat the game and found it quite challenging, but it was still very enjoyable nonetheless! The art and gameplay are really nice! Good job!
Nice art!I really like the style~During my gameplay, I noticed that there were no red hearts left, and there was no place to place the second type of tentacle. They seem a bit too fragile for monsters~

Fun game! Had a good time playing. Randomly placing HUMPTY EGGs was consuming blocks — wanted to remove them, and it was pretty hard to figure out how to boost block gain, but manageable in the end xD Nice graphics and audio. Good job!

Hard mode after default got me spawning 20 soldiers in a row on the first turn. Maybe thats a bug. Beat both modes and it was fun. Removing tiles would be nice, otherwise you can get stuck (i think), with to many square to heart conversions. Solid game jam submission!

@nojoule wow, The hard mod was added for fun, it was not really tested, cool that you were able to pass (I could not). Thank you!
Had a lot of fun playing it, really cool idea! Loved the artwork too. Got really invested on trying to beat hardcore mode (gave up, humans in that mode are hardcore!). Maybe a button to go back to main menu for the "let me restart, this is not optimal" players like me.

I liked the presentation a lot! The graphics and music were cohesive and satisfying. The gameplay was nice and relaxing, and it was easy to understand the rules.
I had a bit of trouble placing this guy for some reason:
Screenshot 2025-04-08 213113.jpg
It should only require 25 hearts, right? But often I couldn't place it even though I had enough.
That was the only issue I encountered, though. The rest of the mechanics felt solid.
It was fun to play through to the end but I'm sure how I should feel about the fact that I converted all of the world to void...

@vidarn yes i think, this guy cost not only 25 heart, but also 5 resources, i forgot change it, thanks!
The game looks cool. It can be addictive. I would appreciate tutorials for each type of item. The game can be developed, it would be great to start with easier levels and go up in difficulty
Pretty deep (*deep*, see what I did there?) and polished, I liked it a lot. Audio is great, graphically as well, plus the consistency. The only issue I've found was that the resource conversion can get you to a state where you cannot finish, like so:

Regardless, that is an awesome game, congrats!
very cool, but I got to a point where I had too many numpty eggs and couldn't get enough resources to finish it.
Love the art and sound. The soundtrack was a good one for the gameplay too. Got stuck in the endgame after making a couple resource converters, a strategy I'm always scared on beginning in these sorts of games but risked this time. Everything was depths except the castle because I could never get any of the second resource high enough after I ate all the mountains.

@thesmellofoxygen @quackqack @marudziik thanks you guys!, you are totally right, it was a mistake to miss the point

Nice work! I found myself having some trouble finding spots to place the heart resource generators since there's only so many villages, but it's otherwise a fairly balanced & rewarding experience most of the way through that encourages some placement strategy through the depths to keep your most important buildings safe.
Loved this one! A different kind of pace, a bit more strategic than most entries I have played - a lot of fun. My favorite part, the hand drawn aesthetic for sure - love how the game looks. Played it and voted ♥
Already mentioned by others but I got softlocked as well near the end. Too bad cuz I was having a lot of fun. I thought the gameplay was pretty simple at first but quickly you realize that there is a lot of synergies you can setup. Great job !

A really good Ludum dare game, one of the most fun i've played personally. It would of been nice if there was a way to remove tiles, at some point i got stuck converting too much of the "square" resource into hearts, which forced me to restart, but besides that its a really fun game, with solid graphics and sound.

Good strategy game. Game is addictive and fun. In late game when you need to destroy last castle, i had troubles with farm necessary resources on castle destroyer. Anyways good job!

Cool game! It kind of plays itself, meaning that whatever I did tended to work so I didn't put too much thoughts into placing stuff on the map. Graphic style is sweet. Great job!

Cool game! Like the visuals and the audio was also very pleasant which is something not everyone gets right. The ground sometimes lets bits behind after everything was turned into depths which didn't look intentional? In terms of gameplay the endgame felt a bit slow as i was just waiting on resources to clean up the last castle and mountains; maybe a way to gain more resources as you get later into the game would help. Also being able to remove placed monters to adjust your resource conversion would be good too i feel. Great work and thanks for the game!

This felt really close to being a full game! I got to the last castle, but my converter guys kept turning all my square thingies into hearts, and I couldn't deploy the last castle eater. But the mechanic, the theme, the presentation — everything was very satisfying and well done, thanks!
Gotta be honest, i did three playthroughs, hadn't still beaten hard mode though. Pretty nicely done! A few polish passes and this could easily be a full game!

I finished the whole game—it was really fun and addictive. Feels like it has the potential to become a full game. Great work, I really enjoyed it!
Awesome premise, i like the mechanic progression, the game was easy to understand.

Fun game! I like the art for the different parts of devlic, going to go back and try on hard mode now
Great game, very fun to play. It was really satisfying to transform consecutive terrain into the depths. My main complain would be that it's a bit easy to "softlock" yourself - destroy all the terrain that gives you resources so that you have to wait a reeealy long time to make money for the monster that destroys the castles.
Also, after completing the game, I wanted to tray hard mode. I pressed "replay in hard", but was quickly overwhilmed. I restarted the page and went to hard mode from main menu, but this time it was way easier. I think your hard mode button in the menu just launches normal mode anyways.

Nice melody, it’s catchy! I’d tweak the green shades a bit; right now, they feel slightly out of harmony with the purple and pink colors, in my opinion.

@ammonit Thanks you for feedback! hmm, do you think should it be less bright or more? or do you think they should be more bluish in color, etc.?

I devoured them all! Same thing happened to me - grinding resources just to finish the game. On the other hand, at some point a lot of resources started to come and I had almost all monsters unlocked almost at once, which was a bit overwhelming. And it took too long for me to realize that you need to devour castles :D But that's on me ^.^ I really liked the art and I always appreciate cheerful music in constrast to horrors are happening on screen :D
Fun, cool innovative concept. Also liked the art style of the tentacles.
Art is great and gameplay, even though simple is engaging and sucks you in like an abyss. There is one major caviat I have, and those are the eggs that let you convert one resource in to another. This is the most dangerour object in the game! Not the armies (haven't been scratched once), but the crazy conversion rate. Place more than two and you are gonzo, and even with two it is hard to keep up. Simple fix would be allowing us to despawn them with a right click. Other than that the game was fantastic and very much to my liking as I love simple tile based puzzle games. They remind me of board games. GJ 0/
