| Apr 4 17:57:16 | Magic Missile | ♥ 1 | Even quite simple but still surprisingly fun! I like the concept that you have two characters to control and they have different kinds of abilities to take advantage of. I guess the idea is that you use wizard for meteors and the knight for zombies. However, I found out that the wizard missile AoE is so large that you can handle both zombies and meteors with him. To balance this out I would make the wizard AoE smaller or prevent the wizard shooting near ground. One thing I found quite annoying was that it is possible to kill yourself (or the other character) with the wizard missile AoE. I would make it so it would not make damage to your own characters. Overall, great little game and bonus points for using Go! | |
| Apr 4 18:04:35 | 7m 19s | Enlit | ♥ 1 | Alright this was quite interesting. It kept me intrigued and hooked to the end. I liked this one! The atmosphere is the best part of this game and the fact that it is so mysterious until the end. Thank you! |
| Apr 4 18:15:44 | 11m 09s | You Are A Bomb | ♥ 1 | Hey this was actually pretty fun and surprisingly polished. I can really appreciate the small animations you made and I also loved how bombs get slightly sucked towards the player - that just made the game feel a lot smoother! The music is very good but I do not know if it fits the game too well. I would probably have gone some other route to create a piece that invokes the feeling of rush and hurry. But that is up to a debate and as I said, the song is good and catchy! |
| Apr 4 18:27:18 | 11m 34s | Camelot's Defense | ♥ 2 | I can always appreciate when people go for 3D in the game jams - it can be tough in the little time frame we get. And this game works quite well. The core gameplay loop is surprisingly fun and it was fun to try different strategies with upgrades. Getting a lot of mana regen was the meta for me that carried me. If there would be something I would hope to be added (during the jam), that would be sound effects. Those would really boost the feeling of battle. I would also like that my units and enemy units would be easier to distinguish. Orcs are easy to spot but humans units are not. Overall, great job in this short jam time to get a game like this running! |
| Apr 4 18:33:53 | 6m 35s | Sleep Keeper | ♥ 3 | Very solid and surprisingly fun game! First I though it was only ok but then I got my first upgrade and the whole game opened up in a different way. Upgrades are super fun and it was always exiting to try to get to the next upgrade. I wanted to try out different upgrades to see how they would interact with each other. The only negative feedback I have is that the game seems way too easy. I was never even close to dying and it feels like the game did not become any harder (or if it did it was very slow). But overall, really solid game and this has potential to be a cool time killer game (maybe for mobile?). |
| Apr 4 18:45:45 | 11m 52s | Reactor Meltdown (The Simpsons) | ♥ 2 | This game really reminded me of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and the jobs in Among Us. The difficulty was probably closer to Among Us. The game was engaging enough that I played as long as I got to test all the panels. The art is solid although I do not know about the Simpsons theme. You could have easily just made your own generic nuclear plant theme without mentioning Simpsons and it would have been just fine. Now the theme feels a bit riding off the success of Simpsons. But this is just my opinion - the art is solid and as I said it would be just as good without the Simpson connection! |
| Apr 4 18:50:58 | 5m 13s | A Dance with Death | ♥ 1 | While the game is very simple and it is easy to understand, the presentation makes it more interesting. The presentation is a bit too close to Inscription to my liking but I think it is different enough to be called its own game. I got stuck multiple times with my pieces disappearing so I hope you can fix that soon! |
| Apr 4 19:02:21 | 11m 23s | Return to the Glade in the Sky | ♥ 1 | Very cute little game. The art is simple but it works in this game just fine and I think it creates a cool atmosphere. Some minor notes; in some maps it was hard for me to distinguish which platforms were below me and which one above me. I think the perspective and simple art creates the illusion that some of the platforms are further away than they actually are. This combined with quite tight jump arcs makes some of the platforming sections a bit frustrating. The game could use a bit harder puzzles but for a jam environment this is just fine in my opinion! |
| Apr 4 19:09:06 | 6m 45s | Sea Level | ♥ 3 | Art and atmosphere are really solid. The game is a bit too complex to be played without a tutorial. Character actions are confusing to choose and the game could really use some indicator about action targets (where to move, what to gather etc.). Also, in my perspective I just die randomly since I do not get any feedback on why I died. I'm sure this game has potential and it has a lot going on for a jam game. Maybe adding a small tutorial would be the game easier to learn so the player can actually start seeing the depth of this game! |
| Apr 4 19:18:02 | 8m 56s | Solar Explosion | ♥ 0 | No need to be so humble - this is a great game for your first jam game! The basic gameplay loop works well and it was engaging for a good while. Sure, you could have more content but you cannot do everything in a jam time frame and have to focus on basics. Some minor notes; the RNG factor in the game is a bit annoying. Sometimes you just have to hope that you will run into a planet. If you pick your launch angle poorly, it is possible that you will see no planets at all. Also, a minor warning for headphone users - the music is quite loud when the game actually starts. I would turn that down a bit. But overall, a nifty little jam game! |
| Apr 4 19:25:48 | 7m 46s | Wiggle Arms Space Force | ♥ 1 | What a nifty little game! First of all, I recommend people to download the game instead of using the web version. Scroll wheel is not really well supported on the web version. About the game - I liked it! The art style is cute and the mechanic is well thought out. It takes a while to get used to controls but once they click the game is smooth. I'm sure you could do much more with this mechanic but for a jam time frame this is just fine. |
| Apr 4 19:27:32 | 1m 44s | Size Matters | ♥ 1 | Hopefully you can get the download link fixed. The game looks interesting and I would like to try it out! |
| Apr 4 19:31:05 | 3m 33s | Icebreak | ♥ 1 | This was actually really good! Very simple but challenging and engaging game. Art is solid too. The game kept me engaged for a good while. I'm sure you could do a lot more with this theme if you keep developing this game! Oh, and extra props for making this with C++ and SDL. Always inspiring to see that these days! |
| Apr 4 19:35:17 | 4m 12s | Delay the Raptors | ♥ 2 | I can always appreciate when people go 3D for jam games - it is not easy in this short time frame. It took me a moment to understand what was going on. The mini games were fun. I never got to see the raptors so maybe that is something you could improve (timers, difficulty etc.). Overall, great game and I liked the art style. It brings me some nostalgic memories from old games. |
| Apr 4 19:40:47 | 5m 30s | Help your Friend to escape the inevitable Ghost in a spooky Forest! | ♥ 2 | This game was a lot more fun than I though it would be. The idea is simple but snappy controls and fast phased gameplay makes it quite fun to play! The game is quite brutal though - if you miss one pentagram it is basically game over. Sometimes it was hard to see some of the pentagrams due to foliage in front of them. Overall, a nice little jam game. I can always appreciate when people go for 3D for jam games and even make their own music! |
| Apr 5 06:50:37 | 11h 09m | Delaying the Waking World | ♥ 1 | A simple but solid and good-looking game! The theme is great and I like the overall mood. Some minor comments; the movement felt slightly too slow at times. There are spots on the map (especially when the way moves diagonally) where it can be almost impossible to stay alive. Overall, a nitfy little game with some cute graphics. I'm sure you could do a lot with this theme if you kept developing it after the jam! |
| Apr 5 07:09:21 | 18m 44s | Sapper Master | ♥ 4 | I like the concept! It works well for mobile devices and I could see this as a nice, little time-killing game. Some minor comments; indicating the correct wire to cut can be quite confusing at times. There are five lights that are positioned in a way that the user may think the they need to cut the wire at the same position as the light. This was the case for me since I'm partly color blind and it took me a while to start seeing that lights have colors. Color blindless is always a challenge to games like this but I think you can mitigate the issue by choosing the set of colors a bit more carefully. Red, green, yellow, blue is probably not the best combination. Also, consider changing the graphics so the user understands it is the color they need to look for, not the position. Overall, a nitfy little game. I'm sure you could do a lot with this theme if you kept developing it after the jam! |
| Apr 5 07:55:00 | 45m 39s | Sir, your Armor is melting | ♥ 1 | That is a simple but quite fun little game! I really like the character animations - together with the movement the knight has some nice weight to it! I also like how the platforms have two uses, you can either jump on them or use them as a shield from meteors. The game gets quite repetitive pretty quickly. If you keep developing this, I would love to see some variations to the map you are traversing over and over again. But overall, a nice and simple jam game. There is some potential if you keep developing this after the jam! |
| Apr 5 09:33:35 | 1h 38m | Look Up! | ♥ 1 | While the idea is very simple I like the execution! It feels solid and polished for a jam game. It took me quite a while to understand that you need to press Esc to buy upgrades. I would have expected some kind of level system where there is a pause between levels for you to buy upgrades. But the upgrade system itself was fun and I liked the upgrades you can buy for the turret. Overall, a solid jam game and great art! |
| Apr 5 09:56:37 | 23m 02s | Timeless | ♥ 2 | Like like the concept and I think there would be a lot more you could do with this theme if you keep developing the game. I also appreciate how much you have managed to do with the mechanic in such a short time. Some of the later mechanics could need some refinement (to be easily understandable) but overall very good job. The most major feedback I have is that apparently there is no way to restart the level? Or at least I was not able to find such button. Overall, very good job! Polished and fun jam game is not easy to create. |
| Apr 5 10:07:56 | 11m 19s | Gobling Game | ♥ 3 | I can always appreaciate when people go for 3D for a jam game. It is never easy to get it working in this short time frame. The art and animations are definitely a highlight of this game. The art style really gives me some nostalgic vibes. The game is quite difficult to understand at first - it maybe could use a tutorial. I suppose there was more to experience but I was not able to get out of the bicycle room. Overall, really nice and visually polished jam game! |
| Apr 5 10:14:01 | 6m 05s | The Sea Won't Stop | ♥ 2 | It is always refreshing to see text based games in jams. They are an artform of their own. I liked the writing on this one and it was also pleasant to see that you used some effects for the text. Those really help to set the mood in these types of games. The cover art is gorgeous by the way! I wish there was more of it in the game too (between the text parts possibly). |
| Apr 5 10:15:58 | 1m 57s | DeckHex | ♥ 2 | Just gorgeous. The art is stunning and it is very rare to see voice acting of this quality in jam games. Short but still amazing. I think there would be potential for this game if you kept developing it after the jam! |
| Apr 5 10:19:08 | 3m 10s | Ballgeon | ♥ 1 | Really solid entry. Simple but engaging gameplay loop, gorgeous art and pretty catchy tune. The only major feedback I have is that I would hope the difficulty to ramp up a bit faster. I guess lower difficulty works well for a jam game. This could have potential if you keep developing it after the jam! |
| Apr 5 10:21:18 | 2m 10s | Click to Continue | ♥ 1 | Great voice acting. It kept me engaged for a good while. |
| Apr 5 10:25:54 | 4m 36s | Hungry Bird | ♥ 1 | A simple but solid jam game. It is a nice twist on the "flappy bird" genre. The controls feel a bit too sensible for me. Only two short clicks can take the bird to the top of the screen. I would like a bit more control over the bird's position. It took me a long while to understand that the bar behind the bird is actually the flap strength. I like it as a concept but maybe it did not end up working so well in this case. It feels quite random and it can be hard to understand for the player. Overall, a nice and solid jam game. Could have some potential if you keep developing it after the jam. |
| Apr 5 11:17:06 | 51m 12s | KEYMASHER ULTIMATE | ♥ 3 | I can really appreciate the polish that was put into this game. Very impressive for a jam game. I THINK MY CAPS LOCK BROKE TOO. |
| Apr 5 11:20:24 | 3m 18s | No Match | ♥ 2 | This is a good example of how a simple idea can be made very engaging with great art and polish. Simple idea and superb execution. The only major feedback I have is that it was sometimes hard to distinguish king and jack from each other. Probably would get easier if I just played for longer. |
| Apr 5 11:24:52 | 4m 28s | Unladen Penguin | ♥ 2 | This was a fun and solid jam entry! I really liked the graphics and the basic gameplay loop is solid. For some reason, I got some motion sickness from this game. It has something to do with how the camera moves in sudden motions and how the perspective slightly keeps changing. Another small note, it took me a while to understand you need to press Space to start the game after a respawn. It could you some kind of hint. Overall, a solid jam game! |
| Apr 5 11:27:32 | 2m 40s | The Inevitable Sinking | ♥ 6 | A good example of a game where solid art style and polish can make a simple idea a lot more engaging. It would be interesting to hear how a team of this size managed to contribute to the game. Big jam teams are always a challenge! |
| Apr 5 11:31:16 | 3m 44s | Day of the Flame - LD 50 | ♥ 1 | Simple but very solid jam game. I can always appreciate when you manage to convey game mechanics in game without using UIs or tooltips. Platforming felt a bit unresponsive at times. I think it was due to the player collision box being a lot smaller than the visual sprite. You could consider scaling the collision area with the player flame size. |
| Apr 5 11:36:40 | 5m 24s | speedy student | ♥ 2 | This is a nifty jam game. I always appreciate the effort it took to finish a game like this and even create your own art. Obviously, there is not a lot of content here but that is fine for a jam game. Good job! |
| Apr 5 13:10:46 | 1h 34m | Pixel-Panic | ♥ 1 | Very simple but solid jam game. The core gameplay loop is quite engaging! I can also appreciate the very detailed tutorial you have included. Maybe it taught be too much - it could have been fun to learn different pixel mechanics on the fly. |
| Apr 5 13:15:06 | 4m 20s | Brakeless | ♥ 1 | This was fun! A simple but quite engaging jam game. It was fun to explore the city even though it took me a while to understand that I can actually drive somewhere else but dead straight. Driving feels alright after a small practise. Controls have a slight delay to them though and I would like them to be a bit snappier. But overall, very solid jam game! |
| Apr 5 13:18:48 | 3m 42s | MOTH | ♥ 1 | I would describe this more as an experience than a game. And I mean that in a good way! Very solid atmosphere and mood. I could see this becoming a full game if you keep working on this after the jam. |
| Apr 5 13:21:55 | 3m 07s | Cup Half Full | ♥ 1 | This was actually a pretty fun take on the tetris genre. Very solid for a jam game. Presentation, gameplay and polish. Bonus points for the leaderboard. It is always a pleasure to see one in a jam game! |
| Apr 5 13:55:39 | 33m 44s | From Beyond The Stars | ♥ 1 | I have seen quite a few games like this during this jam - but I think this one has been the best so far! Simple but well polished. I also really appreciated the tutorial that also told a backstory. Well done! |
| Apr 5 15:18:55 | 1h 23m | Battery Low | ♥ 6 | Very polished for a jam game. Art style is gorgeous and nothing sticks out looking like "placeholder art". |
| Apr 5 17:23:44 | 2h 04m | Message in a Bottle | ♥ 1 | Very inspiring concept. I have always loved the idea of "pseudo-multiplayer" games. I hope more people will find this game so there will be more messages to read. Now the same couple of messages will circle in bottles. |
| Apr 5 18:08:42 | 44m 58s | Run Wacho Run | ♥ 8 | Allright, here is a game that does not take itself too seriously! It was fun to test our different items and see what they will do. Art fits the game perfectly and so does the music. Movement of the units in the game seems a bit janky on my screen. Nothing major but it became quite jarring afer a while. Something that would be very easy to fix though! |
| Apr 5 18:28:45 | 20m 03s | Down to the Wire | ♥ 6 | The main thing I appreciate about this game is the difficulty curve. New mechanics are introduced in a perfect phase. Oh, and did I mention clean aesthetics and sound design? They are great too. My only major feedback about the game is that it is kind of reliant on the player color sight. If you will develop this game after the jam, I would explore ways to convey the information without using colors alone. |
| Apr 5 18:31:18 | 2m 33s | Slip or Trip | ♥ 2 | This game is a prime example of how a simple idea can be made engaging with proper execution and polish. The leaning mechanic is also a highlight of this game - I really dig that! |
| Apr 5 18:55:22 | 24m 04s | RESET | ♥ 2 | I can always appreciate when this amount of narrations and storytelling is packed into a jam game. The mechanics are simple but the narrative, art and music support it very well. |
| Apr 6 09:26:43 | 14h 31m | Reaching Home | ♥ 0 | Really solid jam game! The "cutscene" at the start sets up the mood perfectly and after that I immediately knew what to do. Adding the direction indicators on screen was also a neat idea. However, at some point I had like 10 of those indicators on screen and it was hard to understand which one of those hazards should be my priority. For a jam game I think the gameplay loop had enough variety to keep me interested. Surely, you could add more but this was just enough for a game of this length. Maybe if I would have died I would have hesitated to start a second run. But overall, very solid entry. |
| Apr 6 13:45:41 | 4h 18m | 1 Man 6 Bullets | ♥ 5 | Very solid concept and superb execution for a jam game. I want to highligh the super simple, 1-bullet tutorial which teaches everything the player needs to know in 1 second. The only thing I found missing was to way to somehow predict bullet's trajectory after it has been fired. Things change after the initial shot moment and sometimes catching that one bullet may be essential to staying alive. But then again, that is also something that the player can learn if they play the game more - so it is a double-edged sword. |
| Apr 6 14:10:25 | 24m 44s | Malpractice | ♥ 5 | Very interesting concept. The general theme is quite grim but granting that the humor works on the player this can be pretty funny. Some ideas in the game were quite surprising - I would say outside of the box. |
| Apr 6 14:19:10 | 8m 45s | Tick | ♥ 3 | It took me a while to understand that I need to apply for a job at the start. I kept wandering around the map but found nothing since I had no active job. I would not let the player start playing without them accepting their first job. After that they know what to do. But after that hickup it was smooth sailing. I think this is a great example of a game where the visual style and the setting makes even the simplest mechanic quite engaging. I found myself finishing a job after a job just to get that next dialogue line to learn more about the world. |
| Apr 6 14:28:10 | 9m 00s | Somnipathy | ♥ 3 | There is a very strong mood in this game. Hard to say what it is but even though the game is very simple - the atmosphere in the house kept me going. I always wanted to see that next room. Visuals and sounds are great. Some of the art feels a bit out of place but you cannot ask for everything from a game made during a jam. Good work! |
| Apr 7 11:18:38 | 20h 50m | Life Finds a Way | ♥ 1 | Really solid game. The art and setting make the simple idea pretty engaging. The only major feedback I have is that it was quite annoying to switch tools. It feels like an overly complex mechanic for a simple game like this. But overall, really good entry! |
| Apr 7 14:08:14 | 2h 49m | Bitboy | ♥ 1 | Without giving any spoilers, I really enjoyed the twist. Thanks! |
| Apr 7 14:13:50 | 5m 36s | Darko | ♥ 2 | I can really appreciate the work that has gone into the visual aesthetics. The style also creates a lot of issues which are probably too hard to be solved during a jam. It was quite hard for me to follow how the character moved in a 3D space. There are not many visual elements to attach your eyes to so it can easily mean that it looks like you are not moving at all. For this reason, it was quite hard to predict will I land on a platform or not. But these issues could be solved with more time. For a jam game, I think this was great. |
| Apr 7 14:19:45 | 5m 55s | Nightwaker | ♥ 2 | Great art, music and overall mood. The mechanic was very interesting and I think you could do a lot more with it if you keep working on the game after the jam. The only thing taking away my enjoyment was the constant pressing of J and K keys to stay awake. I just found out myself mashing those two keys. Either the awake period should be significantly longer or maybe use the typing mechanic instead of pressing 2 keys. Other than that, this was great! |
| Apr 7 14:23:26 | 3m 41s | Feast or Famine | ♥ 2 | Art is gorgeous! The game is simple but engaging enough for a jam game. This game could have a lot of potential if you keep working on it after the jam! |
| Apr 7 14:26:45 | 3m 19s | Last Stand | ♥ 1 | It is a simple but engaging game. I'm sure you could do a lot more with this theme if you keep developing this after the jam. |
| Apr 8 11:30:21 | 21h 03m | The Assessment | ♥ 2 | Audiovisual presentation, superb. Some of the minigames felt a bit too short and simplistic for my taste. But this did not ruin the overall feeling. The game is great! |
| Apr 8 13:31:03 | 2h 00m | Gods of Divine Stuff: RAgnarök | ♥ 1 | Pretty good! I think this a good example of a game that has a very simple idea that is made a lot more engaging with compelling visual style and story. |
| Apr 8 13:34:06 | 3m 03s | IBYH!? | ♥ 4 | Really cool entry! I really appreciate the work you have put on characters and their personalities. Minigames could use some kind of guidance. I instantly failed some of the games since I did not know what to do and I had no time figuring it out. |
| Apr 8 13:39:26 | 5m 20s | Anya's Valley | ♥ 1 | That is a great entry! Nice visual style and the music makes the game quite relaxing actually. I agree on many other commenters here that the E key should only complete the dialog animation and not skip it completely. The speed of the dialog is too slow to my taste. |
| Apr 8 13:43:48 | 4m 22s | Hold The Line | ♥ 2 | A very cool entry! It really reminds me of mods made for older classics such as Warcraft III. I had quite a hard time placing units - especially getting them to the right rotation. Either I did not understand the placement system correctly or it was something weird on the web version. |
| Apr 8 13:46:35 | 2m 47s | Run Run Granny! | ♥ 1 | A simple concept but superb execution. Very neat art style and the music is cool too. The music actually reminds me of Theme Hospital soundtrack. I was kind of confused that the game just instantly started. I would have appreciated a start screen (just press Space to start) with the controls included. |
| Apr 8 13:52:25 | 5m 50s | Farm Dog | ♥ 5 | Very solid entry! Great art and sounds. The basic gameplay loop is very good and quite addictive. However, towards the end it starts getting a bit stale since you are basically just running backwards and shooting. Some different kinds of enemies and abilities could twist that basic loop - but you cannot do everything during a jam. This was already superb for a jam game! |
| Apr 10 18:06:07 | 52h 13m | Quota Qrunch | ♥ 3 | Very thematic and also thought-provoking. Not often does that happen in a jam game. Well done! |
