Jul 31 12:56:41 Artifact Dive ♥ 1 Finished on the first try but the pressure was definitely here! Didn't realized that the exit was the starting point but I made it anyway :)
Aug 2 08:31:32 43h 34m Suicide Watch ♥ 1 Great game!! Totally in the mood and theme. This is actually a real struggle for me since I often have to use my Task Manager when my PC is dying :D Maybe a little plot twist right before the end would have made the experience even more stressful but it was still really enjoyable. Waiting for Brother 3! PS: Thank you very much for your vote, your comment enlightened my day!
Aug 3 09:16:45 24h 45m For The Wind ♥ 1 Being able to do my first game jam surrounded by Enjmin candidates like you made it a really good experience! You game is totally in the theme and I'd like to see its evolution if you plan on pursuing the devlopment :D
Aug 3 09:54:19 37m 34s Nightfall ♥ 0 Great game! Especially for 12 hours! Even the graphics tell a story before it start, and the reason why you run out of power is classic but totally working for me! However, commands are quite harsh to use, for example the wall jump, for which I had to use both W and arrow keys
Aug 3 12:20:35 2h 26m Hog-Nosed Coon ♥ 1 At first I thought that the power running out was the CPU usage of my laptop haha. But a nice game overall, didn't understand at first and lost instantly but then I got it and killed the entire forest. Good to see some 3D games in compo!
Aug 3 12:31:21 10m 46s Cellephant ♥ 1 Great game! Nice music and graphics and totally in the theme. The level generation makes some levels easier than the ones before but still challenging at some point! Didn't know what Pico is but you made me wanna check it out!
Aug 3 12:37:17 5m 56s HackBot ♥ 0 Good game! The sound effects were a little bit too loud but the music is good. Great graphics and gameplay!
Aug 3 12:50:00 12m 43s Drawing with Light ♥ 0 Great gameplay but may need little fixes on the movement. Didn't understood how to use the light at first. If levels were longer but with more spread out obstacles you could rise the player speed and it may get even more interesting :D
Aug 3 12:59:09 9m 09s Spacy adventure ♥ 1 Amazing entry for a compo!! Will definitely look into Pico8 as soon as I can. Really good graphics and music. Dying was not even that much frustrating =D
Aug 3 13:21:55 22m 46s Electrical Evasion ♥ 1 Good game! Bugs happen to everybody so I totally understand, and the idea is really good. This red laser put the right pressure and the speed is well balanced =D
Aug 3 13:29:23 7m 28s Electro-Brains ♥ 1 Working for me! This game mechanics are good, it could become something even more interesting! The most fun part to me was the music which is not the usual genre for zombie games, I like that!
Aug 4 11:35:39 22h 06m Politics - Rome ♥ 0 The idea is good, the choice of an newly elected politician was well chosen and the system seems to be quite complex. I enjoyed playing it. I was a little bit confused at the beginning when I was earning money when I though I was using it. Great game overall for a compo entry :D
Aug 4 11:43:09 7m 30s Big Mommy is Watching (Over) You! ♥ 0 Great game!! However everytime I was bullied I was losing the focus on the game screen. But it is still a solid entry for this jam and I really liked audio and graphics!
Aug 4 11:49:21 6m 12s Aesthetics Raider ♥ 1 a e s t h e t i c s (loved it)
Aug 4 11:59:14 9m 53s Power Cores ♥ 0 Good game! The pressure is here and the music fits well. Got sometimes stuck on corners trying to move in the right position without moving the mouse too fast but still enjoyed it. Also the rules and enemy behavior are easy to understand which is really nice.
Aug 4 15:26:17 3h 27m Thermal Power Plant K-13 ♥ 1 The atmosphere is soothing and on point, which help to wait for actions to end. Amazing graphics for a jam and the gameplay seems to be complex and developped. I lost twice because I didn't have food, or maybe I missed something. I'd definitely wait for you to make something bigger!
Aug 5 01:47:52 10h 21m Fluffy's Charge ♥ 1 Hi! Your game is really good, and while feeding that hamster I found several points to talk about! First for my laptop the game was quite laggy, it took some time to launch while listening to that eating noise and it was still lagging when I was switching buttons. However, having to look at seven gauges plus earning money and buying food is not an easy thing for you to equilibrate. But you made it! Somehow...too much ? After 15-20 minutes playing there wasn't any challenge anymore and I decided to keep the money and let the city explode haha. For example, whatever action you do has positive effect, even when doing nothing, which slows down the pressure. I also noticed that when an alarm was sounding, it was more efficient to wait for it to stop before clicking on the button, maybe a bug? But overall an amazing game with good graphics and music!!! (and a good team name too :D)
Aug 5 02:00:44 12m 52s Gain Quest: The Art of Muscle ♥ 1 Awesome game! Graphics and music on point, the idea is fun too. Maybe a little bit too hard? Or maybe that's me :D A really solid entry!
Aug 5 02:16:36 15m 52s LED Adventure -- Running out of Power ♥ 1 Hi! You made a really good game! The level design is good, the graphics are cute and working for me (the parallax is maybe too strong but I thought it was maybe a part of the level design, by not knowing where you are and having to avoid enemies. Maybe some feedback on the boss fight to know if shooting actually hurts it or not (like making it flashing or something) would be nice :D The difficulty is well balanced, I got to the end with some deaths but not frustrated. And you may not have made the music but you chose it well!
Aug 5 03:14:07 57m 31s Ready, HANDHELD! ♥ 0 The concept with the gameboy and all is really good, but the input delay was causing a lot of deaths. However I suppose you know it already so I won't say much more about it :D The graphics are nice and the music too. Also I liked the dying battery animation! Would definitely play again if you manage to fix the controls!
Aug 5 04:00:30 46m 23s Guardian Stone ♥ 1 A great game with a complete story. I like to see narrative game in game jams, even if it may seems easy the story take time to be written and consistent. The graphics and music are good too! The story may be a little bit cliché but it works for me, I enjoyed playing it!
Aug 5 04:17:49 17m 19s AAAAASTEROIDS! ♥ 1 Reminds me of snake game, but the difficulty is the number of asteroids increasing. The pressure rise as well so it works well. Happy for you that you released your first game! :D
I was intrigued by the frenglish name, and wasn't disappointed! You made a game with Java, which is my main language and especially Slick2D (I know this icon too much haha). Java games are quite rare so it's really nice to see one here. About the game : the music is funny, graphics are simple but they work. The gameplay is understandable in a few seconds and I like games you can play with only one control. I enjoyed playing it!
Aug 5 09:21:28 19m 19s Running out of aMAZEing power! ♥ 1 It took me some time to get out of this maze, but here I am! As mention before, the power decreases too slowly, I would have chosen about 3-4 seconds instead of 5, there's no pressure. Even though, the color change that come with the decrease is nice! When I was in the reddish hue it was harder to see so it added some difficulty. I don't know if there was more colors below 80% but if there was it's good. Graphics and audio are good too!
Aug 5 11:15:22 1h 53m Lights Out ♥ 0 Good game! The theme is respected, graphics and animation are good and I really liked the music change when you're low on battery! I would suggest you to move the camera a little bit so the player isn't too much on the bottom of the screen, it would help to make decisions faster and keep a better overall control on the situation :D
Aug 5 11:29:06 13m 44s Orcs in Space ♥ 2 Once you get used to the commands and understand how to survive, it's a really good game! It's well balanced and the music set the ambiance quite well. I like the pixel art too !
Aug 6 21:17:16 33h 48m Low Battery ♥ 1 Great game! The intruders that move every two turn give to the level design a lot of freedom and more challenge. I didn't get frustrated and finally finished the game in about 10 minutes. The music and graphics are really good too! I really enjoyed playing it!
Aug 6 21:22:17 5m 01s Quest ♥ 0 Short but great! The idea is simple and is working, graphics are funny, and not annoying to play with. The spells and key idea is good, it makes me think of speedruns, where you have to optimize every move to not waste time. I enjoyed playing the beginning and would definitely like to see more! :D
Aug 6 22:33:55 1h 11m In Battery We Trust ♥ 1 Good game! The mood is instantly set up and I started panicking when I was surrounded by 4-5 scorpions from two directions haha The music and sfx are good, graphics too! Maybe adding something more like a specific goal, or just an amount of time to survive would have improved the player motivation to keep playing!
Aug 6 22:50:20 16m 25s Eclipse ♥ 2 A quite interesting concept about setting atmosphere while trying to find an exit in a maze. I liked it quite much. The graphics and audio choice are really great too!
Aug 6 23:06:58 16m 38s V-Empire ♥ 2 Great game! The only issue I had was that the religious people were spawning right in front of me and instant killed me. But other than that I enjoyed playing it! Graphics and audio are really good!
Aug 7 16:50:11 17h 43m Space Bear Panic ♥ 1 I had a good time playing your game but the more I played, the laggier it was getting. I got to a state where I had to quit the game because I was almost stuck because of the lag. However, the game is well designed, the idea is easy to understand, I wasn't stuck trying to know what to do, I immediately started gathering energy. And this is a really good point. The graphics and music are quite good too! And I think you already got feedback about the collisions so I won't say much more.
Aug 7 17:04:16 14m 05s Nuclear Arms 4: Fallout of The Mountain King ♥ 0 An interesting game, and apparently a sequel! 3D bears are fun to watch and music is good. The idea is simple but executed! The question is: why doesn't he use his arms if they're nuclear? :D
Aug 7 19:55:33 2h 51m Last Shine ♥ 1 The game looks amazing and the idea is great but the controls really made me feel like I was an old man who can't control himself (maybe that's the plan?! :D). The X button didn't work and I couldn't use Shift because of sticky keys. I manage to realise I could use the mouse so I did but I think the difficulty was a little bit too high at the beginning because of the controls. Also I couldn't reach the bottom of the screen and had to watch some chicken and die again. 😢 🚧 🍗 But other than that issue, I really like the idea overall.
Aug 7 20:25:08 29m 35s Modular Destruction Labs ♥ 2 The idea you had for this game is really good! Felt like in a fast food, trying to make the best sandwich ever! The major issue I had was to not keep my robot after finish the level so I could grow attached to him and keep giving him some upgrades, you know what I mean? The controls were kinda hard but PHYSICS I guess :D However, I didn't feel the power running out at all, I never bothered me during the level so I forgot to look at the gauge. Graphics and audio are really good, good job!
Aug 7 21:04:11 39m 03s ANSWER ME! ♥ 0 Always happy to see narrative games here. And in this one you have to type half of the story! The gameplay is nice and the story is funny. I didn't want a girlfriend anyway :D Graphics look good and there's not many bugs, I think I got stuck at a message for a few seconds because there was a space after the final dot that I immediately guessed right with the battery pressure coming on me haha. Good job! ;)
Aug 7 22:58:17 1h 54m Robot Invaders ♥ 0 Fun and cute! The gameplay is simple and it works! I also noticed that the bullets were bigger when you were low on battery, I don't know if it improves the power or just the size but I like that! Graphics and audio are cool too! I really enjoyed playing it, good job!
Aug 7 23:15:08 16m 51s Operation Lambda ♥ 0 Very cool gameplay, usually these kind of games are just about resolving the puzzle but you added risks by making the player moving and rotating the laser itself so it's quite good! The level design is nice, graphics and audio too! I enjoyed playing it!!
Aug 8 00:50:35 1h 35m Funkotron 5k ♥ 0 An amazing game here! I think that's the most funny game I played on this LD. I love rhythm game and I'm really happy to see another one here. The plot is funny, the gameplay is simple and works and graphics and audio are great! The only thing I could say is that the visual indicators for the beat can't help the player to anticipate the beat, I had to listen while losing points to gain them after, which in a certain way, correspond to the situation on a dancefloor, so it's not that bad. Also it's kinda hard to move in the city and until the end you just walk around. Maybe smoother controls to move faster and more challenge from the Monster could make it more intense, because it made me feel like I was the only one dancing and nobody wanted to do a battle. This is a great game overall, and I'd definitely replay it if you make something bigger and funkier! Good job!
Aug 10 08:08:15 55h 17m Space Power Defender ♥ 2 I played both version and agree that it is easier with mouse aiming. Graphics looks really good and music too, good job on that, since you said you were a beginner on audio. I would have liked that you'd go a little bit further on powers, like some enemies that aim a particular color, or that each color would act on the spaceship characteristics. Just suggestions but it would have been nice! Good game overall!
Aug 11 19:51:54 35h 43m Corrupted ♥ 2 Amazing! The gameplay is innovative and the storyline sets up the mood immediately, as everyone said, the audio would have helped even more but just with the graphics and the story, it felt like the audio was here and I was able to imagine it, but that I'd've muted it. :D I really enjoy entries that took the theme a little bit further than just a battery gauge running out so I like your stealing system. Kinda frustrating to randomly die without always knowing where it came from, and it cuts the story for a long time if you don't manage to get back to the next level quickly. I was more interested in the narration than the uprising difficulty so it was a little bit annoying. But having to restart from the beginning is something that is explained by the story itself (I interpreted it as a "I'm dead so another robot with the same objective is gonna try to reach the sun too and the player will play this robot"). It is still a great game overall and I really enjoyed playing it!
Aug 11 20:07:12 15m 18s Greenhouse Dystopia ♥ 1 A great game here! The graphics are really good and the audio fits well. The story is easy to get and give an understandable goal. The fail and DLC jokes worked for me haha :D The only things I would say is that the game was a bit rough with the transitions between start screen, game and end (the music too), and that if you gave something special to the kite (like a glowing outline, a color that is different from the rest, or just subtle indications that thunder could interact with it), players wouldn't have to read the line about it here and could finish the game by themselves. Still a good experience overall!
Aug 15 09:16:23 85h 09m When It Counts ♥ 1 Good game! The theme is well presented and we understand how to play directly. The story is short, as well as the time we have to talk so it works. Graphics are good, and having no special traits for the player is a good point (and it makes animation easier too ;)). I would have really enjoyed a background music, to set the mood of the end of a journey, and the end of the day.
Aug 15 15:51:42 6h 35m Runic Forest ♥ 1 Amazing graphics and music! The gameplay is good but the controls could be improved, the fact that spells and mana floating before reaching an enemy or myself cost me some points, which can be frustrating since it looks a little bit random. Still good overall!
Aug 15 16:08:28 16m 46s Last Question ♥ 0 Interesting game! I agree that a tutorial or something that help to be more aware of what's happening and what we have to do would be useful. Graphics are good, audio too and playing with the console reminded me my Unix courses haha It could become something better with more time! But it is some serious work for a compo entry!
Aug 15 16:25:50 17m 22s Just Another Week ♥ 2 The idea is good but I had troubles because of the execution: Keys: English keyboards are QWERTY but I have a AZERTY one and even after changing my keyboard to QWERTY mode it was still hard to use. It happens that your game use it but this is an issue to a lot of game in general Timing: In some minigames the timer is already running when we're reading the instructions, which makes it quite unfair, especially to people who need more time to understand. General issues: In some minigames things just didn't worked. When I had to press Q and M I didn't found the M key, and when it is asked to press the right button to rotate objects it didn't worked neither. I managed to get through the week, and graphics are nice but there's flaws that cut the fun for me.
Aug 15 17:07:11 41m 21s X-Moon 2: Dark Moon ♥ 0 I had a great time playing this game! If I understood, it is more about a world running out of power (because of black holes) than a player, and this is something I really like! Graphics are really enjoyable and audio too, I liked that enemies only appears on level 2. Great entry!
Aug 15 17:14:57 7m 46s Computer Crisis ♥ 1 Fun Wario Ware style game. The lamb sauce gives you an extra point haha! Graphics and audio are really good too and the concept is well executed, a solid entry !
Aug 15 22:21:43 5h 06m HE BEAT HER. ♥ 1 OMG These graphics, the audio... No words from me haha About the gameplay, I felt like I was playing a mix of Her Story and Life is Strange, and I really enjoyed it, the subject is interesting, not too cliché, and the interpretation of the theme is really good! There is certainly things to improve at some points but the game is already quite clean for an LD entry. And I think the bug that block you in the game (no user interface) with hitting enter or space is still there ^^' I hope to see and hear more about you in the future!!
Aug 15 22:49:52 28m 09s Encounters ♥ 1 Very cute and fun game! The map is small but the good level design and architecture make it efficient and enjoyable. Graphics and audio choice are also a part of it! Characters and story are funny and it was simple to understand what to do so the experience was great overall!! You did some good work and I'd definitely like to see more from you!
Aug 16 08:08:04 9h 18m Energy Boy ♥ 1 Fun little game. The things I liked the most are graphics (like the teacup head, quite good choice). The level design is simple and create a lack of challenge, you can add more heights, stairways, or anything there is on top of a building (like a whole family having a good lunch haha). You didn't made a background music but if you make one after, it would be really great! Maybe work on the controls a little bit. By the way the Web version was laggy for me, don't know if it's just me or not! :D
Aug 16 08:29:21 21m 17s Escape from власть (Vlast) ♥ 0 Got through the game! The graphics are good and the audio sets the mood. The level design was good and the difficulty, even if it was too high at the beginning, was increasing nicely. Good job overall!!
Aug 16 11:26:32 2h 57m Be Queen Bee ♥ 1 Great entry! It's always difficult to receive ratings with a multiplayer game so you should think you would have had twice the ratings you have now if it was single player ! :D As a lot of people I played against myself but it was enough to understand the gameplay and the potential in multiplayer. I really liked the crown throwing mechanic and I love the graphics. I expected softer music from the graphics and the idea but it is still good! Good job!
Aug 16 11:39:41 13m 09s Don't be (the) patient ♥ 0 Nice game! I wanted to play as soon as I saw the description. It is simple "but" fun and challenging. By the way I thought it would be easier at the beginning but the challenge was already there (with a little bit of luck of course). I like the graphics, the audio cue is good but on an ergonomic level it would be nice to have to visual one too for people who don't hear well or just can't use audio, like these heartbeat waves that forms on the screen that have the same background than your game (don't know the exact name but I hope you know what I mean :D) Good game overall!
Aug 16 17:03:29 5h 23m Das Riverboot ♥ 0 Interesting game! Controls and physics were strange at first but I got it. Bonus point because I managed to stuck a fish on my boat without being able to catch it haha :D Graphics and audio are good. With nice feedback and controls it could become something really great!!
Aug 16 17:16:01 12m 32s Downpour ♥ 1 Really cute game which doesn't need background music with all these good noises. I really liked the jump sound by the way. Graphics work quite well with the fire light and I like the 3D style platformer view you made, which is impressive for me since this is not my favourite style. Level design is subtle, we don't need visual cue and it's a good choice, the player has to discover where he can "walk" or not. Collisions are kinda strange sometimes and cost me several tries, but I guess it can be fixed so it's okay. Great game overall, good job! :D
Aug 16 17:44:40 28m 39s Rats will kiss the gunner's daughter ♥ 2 You came with a concept well designed with established rules and it works! The player know what to do and everything is understandable. Graphics are quite good, I like the generation of characters that makes them look sometimes suspicious even if they've done nothing haha I think I found a typo (on the updated version) there was "desicion" instead of "decision", if I remember well it was at the beginning. The game is quite hard but balanced so it give s enough control to the players to make their own choices. Good job!
Aug 19 15:26:34 69h 41m Nyctophobia ♥ 0 Good concept! Maybe a little simple but I can definitely see it pushed further to become something great! The mood is set, the audio helps, graphics are simple but they work. If I got it right the lights are used to lure the darkness while you escape? I found quite good but the darkness was often too close of the spots so enlighten them would cost 2 lights instead of one by being hurt during the process. I didn't finished it but I saw the exit right before I died so I was close I guess. So yeah, working on the balance could help, like changing the maze or just slowing down the darkness a little bit!
Aug 19 21:03:25 5h 36m Island of Revolution ♥ 1 Amazing! The mechanics may not all be implemented but the game still works. And I'm always happy to see Java games! Graphics look good and I understood how to play thanks to your Help button. When I ran out of power I panicked and fled right to the airport, but I guess going by the jungle wasn't the best solution as rebels came instantly and killed me haha So a good game overall that could be really good if you finish implementing everything :D
Aug 19 21:45:46 42m 21s GLOW ♥ 1 Interesting concept, I will go back on several points : - Graphics : Quite pure, lot of dark/light opposition that represents well the deep sea, and good effects too. - Controls : I liked the controls, it forces the player to anticipate the speed and the direction before the execution to have smooth movement across the level, I don't know if I could have enjoyed a longer game with that speed but for three levels it was good. - Level design : Good level design, lead the player to the areas by making trails of energy, at each level showing them the danger and the gameplay in safe places, then putting a harder part that is the real challenge and once it's done having a shortcut to the central place. That's probably the part I prefer the most in this game. It may stick a little bit to the rules, but it definitely works well. - Audio : The audio was fitting, but I expected something more. I get that aquatic calm vibe but I think it just slows down the game even more. Like after playing a few minutes I can't remember any part of the audio. I would have rather chosen a music that would be a bit more melodic (without having a full orchestra, just setting the atmosphere is enough) and a rhythm that would motivate the player to progress through the map. I just saw an aquatic creature losing its three babies in the ocean, I'm not gonna swim quietly through the water, I'm gonna fight for them if I need to! The critique may sounds quite harsh but it is really because I see a lot of potential in what you do. For example I don't know your audio skills and I wouldn't be able to do that, especially in 48 hours so I hope that it will push you further in the creation process!!
