I liked playing with the console.
Tried the Mac version, which doesn't sound like it's been updated post-jam, and wasn't sure what to do tbh - any drone I made was in a smallish empty area of squares with nothing obvious to interact with besides the home forge. But I liked the gfx/audio/interface etc :)
The game is very confusing if you don't read the home page ...
It took me a little while to figure out how to move around and stuff but it was really neat once I managed to sort it out. Really interesting idea, I think a lot of us game developers can appreciate using console commands to play a game lol
The game is interesting - I played the post jam version too. I like the graphics and console controls, yet it lacks any tutorial or telling player what to do (which makes the game quite hard to play and win).
I liked the concept of it! The feel in the different levels was good, but I was a little lost as to what the objective was. It felt like I was just typing to move the drone around. The feel and mood was very good though :)

The song is a version of Johann Sebastian Bach's *Litle Fugue*. So if you like Asimov too, we have two likes in common!
I've played the 49h Jam version: I've really enjoyed the experience. Because this is how I felt it: It's a sci-fi interactive and audiovisual experience with a great concept behind.
I'm not used to the inspector, but I think that it is a great mechanic. It makes every movement and action something the player has decided and worked for.
Even if it's not a commercial kinda game (which is a good thing, nowadays), in my opinion would be a fantastic full game with all the final features. I highly encourage you to keep working on the idea.

The idea with the command line is pretty interesting! The game is a bit difficult to understand but quite fun to play. Keep it up! :smiley:
This game feels like it has a lot of depth! I liked the scratchy graphics and the text commands.
Some very neat ideas you got here. It was super confusing though. Even after reading the description here first (and forgetting most of it before being in the actual game). Took me ages to figure out how to actually get a drone and using the pretty much the only command I remembered, help. After that I pretty much just jumped around all over the place and rendered stuff because no other command seemed to do anything. Probably had something to do with the options I selected for my drone though. This game would REALLY need some guidance in the game itself instead of just giving a full essay in the description which will be soon mostly forgotten.
I would really liked if it was fully keyboard driven instead of requiring mouse clicks on buttons sometimes. Well I guess you could tab between the controls but it felt kinda awkward.

This game has a nice atmosphere to it, and its concept could work. Its visuals are pretty well suited to the game, too. I probably would survive longer on further attempts, but the difficulty is still quite unforgiving (which might not necessarily be a bad thing :D). Some bug fixes which would make the overall experience much smoother:
- make sure the text input always stays in focus (instead of having to click on it every now and then) - make the drones switchable by command - make sure the camera shows the drone in the window (the camera slowly drifted higher and higher for me)
I guess the original intention was for the drones to only capture their environment with their own cameras (or when the player uses `render`), why was there an overhead view anyway?
As for the audio in the background – it's a cool little idea and the story fits the theme, but its charm gets lost when it's so quiet / non-stop. I know the story, but I'm not sure I would know it if I only played the game. It would be better if there were subtitles, or an option to make it stop / progress line by line / make it louder. I would expect something like this to be unfolded in breaks between chapters of a game (see for example SpaceChem story telling).
It's still a very interesting game, so good job! :)

Very atmospheric game. I liked this strange voice, the noise on the screen and the monotonous music. All of it deeply immerses you in the game. Using the console makes the gameplay quite unusual. I tried to play a few times, and each time I had enough energy only to find a pair of laptops. Also I did not understand how to switch between existing drones, and I had some problems with the camera after creating the second drone. What if the narrative will be presented in parts after discovering each laptop? Anyway, this is a great game!
Interesting game! I agree that a tutorial or something that help to be more aware of what's happening and what we have to do would be useful.
Graphics are good, audio too and playing with the console reminded me my Unix courses haha
It could become something better with more time! But it is some serious work for a compo entry!
Very interesting game. I loved it though. Playing using a console was more fun than I thought it would be.
Overall I'd give this game a 8/10
