| Apr 28 22:48:00 | Long live the King | Nice game! I enjoyed the visuals and audio a lot. Just one thing: at the end, I think the last sentence should read: <br/> <br/>"The guards led him to the throne, where he sat to be crowned." <br/> <br/>Keep up the good work! | |
| Apr 28 23:24:00 | 36m 00s | DHRDR | Cool game! I really liked the visuals and premise. I got stuck at the beginning though, here's a screenshot if it helps. <br/> <br/>http://imageshack.us/photo/myimages/213/screenhunter29apr281822.png/ <br/> <br/>Good luck with your future projects! |
| Apr 29 08:23:00 | 8h 59m | The Escape | Nice game! I think it turned out nicely too and would be even better with obstacles and collectibles of some kind. It really reminds me of the 'Down the Tubes' level EWJ. |
| Apr 29 09:51:00 | 1h 28m | Minimalism for Dummies | Really creative way to interpret the theme. Good luck with your future LD entries! |
| Apr 29 09:56:00 | 5m 00s | Another Minimalistic War | Cool game that you could easily expand upon in the future (more enemy types, faster spawn rates, etc.) <br/> <br/>Congrats on your first LD entry and good luck in the future! |
| Apr 29 10:02:00 | 6m 00s | DownGrade | I know it's unfinished, but I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this. I'd love to see the finished product once it's complete, keep up the good work! |
| Apr 29 10:20:00 | 18m 00s | Trial and Error | Not bad, not bad. Hope you enjoyed your first LD and will stick with it! |
| Apr 29 10:38:00 | 18m 00s | 20 Seconds | Pretty great idea with a lot of potential. Like Eternal_Rest, I wish it lacked the waiting intervals. I'd enjoy it more if it was more fast paced and changed to another game immediately after losing one. Minor nitpicks aside, 'twas fun. |
| Apr 29 10:48:00 | 10m 00s | Priorities | A nice interpretation of the minimalism theme that creates a simple yet fun experience. Good work! |
| Apr 29 20:15:00 | 9h 27m | Fade | I couldn't play it at first, because it said openal32.dll was not found. But after I downloaded that and dropped it in the directory everything was fine (I'm using Windows 7). <br/> <br/>This one fit the theme pretty nicely. Well done! |
| Apr 29 20:33:00 | 18m 00s | Space Trader [Buggy] | Nice concept! The HTML5 version worked fine for me (no lag). If you have time in the future to revisit and expand on this idea I bet it'd turn into something great. |
| Apr 29 20:44:00 | 11m 00s | Mr. Minimal | Pretty decent game! I just wish Mr. Minimal moved a bit faster. Sometimes I would have the entire stage clear before he even traversed a single space. :( |
| Apr 29 20:46:00 | 2m 00s | Ballisto | I don't see a download link. Would love to play once one is posted, thanks! |
| Apr 29 21:38:00 | 52m 00s | HOT/COLD | Nice art style and decently enjoyable! |
| Apr 29 21:44:00 | 6m 00s | Swimming Fool | Would love to try it, but when I click the link I'm just met with a blank white page. Not sure what the problem is. |
| Apr 29 21:48:00 | 4m 00s | Trained Disaster | Cool concept. Would love to see more types of dangers/objects you can collide with that have unique effects, as well as have the ability to move left and right. Good job! |
| Apr 29 22:13:00 | 25m 00s | Mono | Nice little game! I liked the graphics and sound effects. Sadly, you can get stuck in the walls if you hold the arrow keys while next to them. Keep up the good work, nonetheless! |
| Apr 29 22:44:00 | 31m 00s | The Call | Nifty game! I think there's a typo on the question response concerning how the player's father died. It should be "though" instead of "thought." Just a little thing though, congrats on your entry! |
| Apr 29 23:00:00 | 16m 00s | Suprema | I enjoyed this one a lot! I liked how the instructions were written in a way that incorporated the minimalism theme while letting you know how to play. Solid effort! |
| Apr 29 23:32:00 | 32m 00s | Better Triangle | Really creative idea! I quite enjoyed this one. :) |
| Apr 29 23:58:00 | 26m 00s | ASCIIvader III | Lovely aesthetics, good job! |
| Apr 29 23:59:00 | 1m 00s | Souls of the Forest | I'd love to play this game, but after clicking on the link it said there was an internal server error and no download started. |
| Apr 30 00:05:00 | 6m 00s | Friendship in a Post-Apocalyptic World | Pretty cool idea, and the audiovisual style was all consistent and clean. Keep up the good work! |
| Apr 30 00:10:00 | 5m 00s | Dungeon Struggle | Very fun little title! Is the gun not supposed to be able to destroy crates though? More enemy types/power ups would be nice as well, but you could easily add those in the future. |
| Apr 30 00:27:00 | 17m 00s | Moonshine | I liked it! I wish the audio was a little louder at times, it was hard to hear the spoken dialogue. Still, 'tis a polished and enjoyable game! |
| May 1 02:14:00 | 25h 47m | Potatoroids | I really enjoyed this one. Flying around and blasting cosmic spuds is an unrivaled experience. |
| May 1 02:31:00 | 17m 00s | Free* | Really gorgeous art, good work! |
| May 1 02:35:00 | 4m 00s | Prism | Excellent idea, very well executed! Both a creative and enjoyable interpretation of minimalism. |
| May 1 02:58:00 | 23m 00s | Problem Attic | Wonderful presentation and audio, but a bit awkward to control at times. Nonetheless, great work. |
| May 1 03:08:00 | 10m 00s | Minimum Friction | Wow, I'm loving this. A simple idea executed brilliantly, with polished graphics and audio to boot. |
| May 1 03:24:00 | 16m 00s | Project Hourglass | Very cool idea! I'm a big fan of the Civ games and thought this was a pretty solid entry. :) |
| May 1 03:28:00 | 4m 00s | Ai'n Av Diortem | When I try to run it, it just says that the program has stopped working and refuses to open. |
| May 1 03:41:00 | 13m 00s | The Mondrian Crash | Cool concept! I thought this was a very polished and creative way to interpret minimalism. Had a decent bit of fun playing, too! :) |
| May 1 03:44:00 | 3m 00s | Matt and Raggie: the day after | Killer graphics, guy (or girl). I Especially loved the detail that went into the drawings on the opening screen. Plus, it was fun moving around and trying to figure out where to put stuff. Good going! |
| May 1 03:47:00 | 3m 00s | A potion of minimal that makes things less maximum. | It was a bit laggy and the physics seemed a little wonky at times. But all-in-all, I liked it! The graphics were very cute and fit the minimalism theme well, and when the physics were working properly they were fun to play with. Keep it up! :) |
| May 1 04:05:00 | 18m 00s | BiT | Very cool idea! The randomly generated levels keep it fresh and the visuals are all consistent and clean. Good work, all around. |
| May 1 04:09:00 | 4m 00s | The Cave | Would really love to try this once a link is available. Hope things work out with your hosting service and the game in general. :( |
| May 1 04:15:00 | 6m 00s | Skyscraper Kingdoms | Really cool game. Great graphics and simple yet enjoyable gameplay. |
| May 1 04:18:00 | 3m 00s | There is no they. | Very unique concept and decent presentation! The game crashed when I won, but it ran perfectly. Good going! |
| May 1 04:23:00 | 5m 00s | SIMPLE | Cool concept and decent game. I genuinely didn't expect for things to get progressively minimalistic. Nice work! |
| May 1 04:40:00 | 17m 00s | Somsnosa | Beautifully drawn. You're really talented! |
| May 1 04:55:00 | 15m 00s | RKT | Innovative and fun. Highly recommended! |
| May 1 05:07:00 | 12m 00s | Tunnel Terror | I get the same error as My Milked Eek. |
| May 1 05:43:00 | 36m 00s | Tokyo Minimaley Land | Pretty nifty game! I liked the graphical style and minigame variety. |
| May 1 05:49:00 | 6m 00s | Cube Colors | Very clever puzzle game. Excellent entry! |
| May 1 05:54:00 | 5m 00s | OktumBoktum - A minimal adventure of a boy and his crazy pet | 'Tis a fun and addictive little minigame. Well done! |
| May 1 05:57:00 | 3m 00s | MiniCave | The graphics are simple but pretty and the gameplay is decent. Great job! |
| May 1 06:11:00 | 14m 00s | Don't Hit The Core | Neat concept! Liki Kiwiboi, I felt the clicks were a little unresponsive at times. Still, great visuals and solid project! |
| May 1 06:14:00 | 3m 00s | BBB&B | Cool and cute game! I was wondering if when two of the same letters drop are both supposed to count if you type a single one? |
| May 1 06:17:00 | 3m 00s | tunnel runner | Nifty! Just needs some obstacles, power-ups, and a difficulty curve. Who doesn't love bunnies? |
| May 1 06:18:00 | 1m 00s | Run | Pretty tiles and interesting mechanic. Sometimes the zombie AI was a little iffy, but it held my interest. Fantastic work! |
| May 1 06:23:00 | 5m 00s | Simple Pleasures | Wonderful title. It took me back to my serial table flippage days. |
| May 1 06:26:00 | 3m 00s | DarkRoom | Cool visuals, but like argo15 I'm stumped too. I even tried turning the lights in my apartment off to no avail. |
| May 1 06:32:00 | 6m 00s | Robot | I'm digging the visuals. It was nice of those tiles to thank me for winning, too. Good job! |
| May 1 06:39:00 | 7m 00s | Gon Of War | Great visuals! I'm really impressed you went with a RTS for the LD, and I'd love to see more if this is further developed. Congratulations! |
| May 1 06:53:00 | 14m 00s | Fractured | Amazingly creative, and the art is beautiful! If I had any criticism, they'd be that the difficulty spikes hugely after the first three or so rooms and that there aren't enough obstacles. Super game though, would play again. |
| May 1 07:01:00 | 8m 00s | Perception | Great job on your first LD entry! Before now, finding my lost keys was a stressful and birdless experience. But all that changed when I played Perception. Keep up the good work! |
| May 1 07:05:00 | 4m 00s | Hito | Wow. Excellent audiovisuals, guys. That zoom out upon level completion really sealed the deal for me. <br/> <br/>One thing: I wasn't sure why touching the top of the picture frame killed me. It was a little awkward to try jumping when on the upper parts of the screen in fear of it. But aside from that, everything was great gameplay-wise. <br/> <br/>Would love to see where you guys eventually take this title! |
| May 1 07:08:00 | 3m 00s | Game of Rows | When I start up the game, it goes to what appears to be a title screen (there are two swords) and I can move them up and down. But the screen is blank... I can't seem to select any options. :( <br/> <br/>Your game looks very well done though, especially for your first. Will try it once the issues are fixed! |
| May 1 07:13:00 | 5m 00s | nadir | Super cool concept and simple yet pleasant visuals. The dialogue seemed decently written too, so props all around. |
| May 1 07:20:00 | 7m 00s | Squeeps | I don't want to make a squeeping generalization, but I'm betting anyone who plays this game will squeep with delight. Definitely a squeeper. |
| May 1 07:22:00 | 2m 00s | F I N D | I found the the things and felt vindicated. Coolio! |
| May 1 07:25:00 | 3m 00s | Depth | Very creative concept, and the ambient audio was a nice touch. It's... A superb game... Or is it? |
| May 1 07:31:00 | 6m 00s | Blob Runner | Nifty audio. Would be nice to have some control over the character, as well as encounter obstacles and all as the game progresses. Solid effort. |
| May 1 07:37:00 | 6m 00s | Cobalism | Pretty nice game. The AI was well done and both shooting and exploring were fun. It did lag a little on my computer (I use Windows 7), but not to the point of detracting from enjoyment. Great entry! |
| May 1 07:39:00 | 2m 00s | A Game of Boxes | What a box-riffic game this was. I enjoyed it a lot! :) |
| May 1 07:46:00 | 7m 00s | Press Space To Jump | Sure, it looks like a simple test of reflexes, but cube better believe it's challenging. The perfect game for inducing catharsis and releasing your boxed up emotions. You're a real square if you don't give this one a go. |
| May 1 07:51:00 | 5m 00s | Small Tale | Great graphics, cool audio, and decent writing. Groovy game, dudes. |
| May 1 08:01:00 | 10m 00s | To What End? | The visuals were cute and simplistic, and the gameplay pretty good. Sometimes the enemies just seemed to press up against walls, but they were still decently challenging. Really nice game here! |
| May 1 08:06:00 | 5m 00s | Z Jumper | Great visuals! I wish the arrow keys were mapped to a/d though. It's difficult for me to use spacebar to jump while moving with the keyboard like that. |
| May 1 08:08:00 | 2m 00s | IN MALI SOMMI | The audio was snazzy and the game mechanic creative. Nice one! |
| May 1 08:12:00 | 4m 00s | AbbrevsMaster | One of the most original ideas I've seen thus far. Kudos to ya'. |
| May 1 08:21:00 | 9m 00s | Pencil (OUYA) | The view can be a bit spazzy, but the concept is great and the models look phenomenal. The best game with a pencil protagonist I've played to date. |
| May 1 08:25:00 | 4m 00s | Tower | Amazing sprites! They remind me of old DOS games like Jetpack. Seemed to be coded very well, as far as I could tell. The level editor was a nice, professional touch as too. |
| May 1 08:29:00 | 4m 00s | KeyBall | Just when you thought every Pong variant had been done, this comes along. Wonderful entry, here. Both a fun and creative way to reinvent two classic games. |
| May 1 08:35:00 | 6m 00s | Flashing Hands | Nifty. It was like playing rock-paper-scissors in real time to settle a violent dispute. I'll have to try this the next time I'm jumped in an alley. Good work! |
| May 1 08:39:00 | 4m 00s | Metahotel | Cool and creative puzzle game! |
| May 1 08:43:00 | 4m 00s | Rocky Flight Balloon | Dandy game. 'Twould be nice to move your character up and down, but it's not essential. It's an easy concept to expand upon, for sure. |
| May 1 08:54:00 | 11m 00s | A Visit to the Gallery | I got stuck in the walls a few times, but that's easily fixable. I'm glad you learned a lot from your first LD and hope to see more from ya' next time! :) |
| May 1 08:56:00 | 2m 00s | Frame Aim | Are there any levels after the first one? Once I got the blue square in the yellow nothing seemed to happen. Cool concept this be, I'd love to see where you take it if you expand on it. |
| May 1 09:07:00 | 11m 00s | Left To Right | It seemed to run a bit slowly for me. But the concept could definitely be enjoyable with some tweaking. Nice job completing a game! |
| May 1 09:13:00 | 6m 00s | Cells | The cell you played as was so cute. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not though. Also, you could just hang out near the beginning and collect the 'LD 26' dots to easily overpower the other cells. <br/> <br/>Still, 'twas fun fighting and such. Good going! |
| May 1 09:21:00 | 8m 00s | Pieces | A puzzling puzzle if I ever puzzled over one. Great presentation and the like! You really put a lot of effort into making this work with the minimalism theme. |
| May 1 09:24:00 | 3m 00s | Against the Current | The two spikes near the end of level five make it disproportionately hard compared to what came before. Also, sometimes you start so close to the screen's edge that it seems you insta-die right as you begin. <br/> <br/>Still, good idea and it's pretty fun. Now just take it and make it even more unique! |
| May 1 09:28:00 | 4m 00s | Mini the Malism Potatoe Beetle | Interesting concept. Are you supposed to be able to move through the blue walls, or is that a glitch? <br/> <br/>The world definitely needs more games with potato beetle protagonists. Props for that. |
| May 1 09:33:00 | 5m 00s | Street of Rave | I hope this game gets rave reviews. Just don't confuse it with that other, equally cool title on the Mega Drive. |
| May 1 09:38:00 | 5m 00s | Atrakt 4096 | Stellar visuals; they really fit the minimalism theme. One thing I wish was that the special ability key was separate from the one you use to change players. Sometimes I would unintentionally swap to my other character when trying to ward off aliens, getting mauled in the process. Increasing the player's movement speed a tad might be nice too. <br/> <br/>Minor gripes aside, 'tis a fun and unique title. |
| May 1 09:47:00 | 9m 00s | Unpixelation! | This game could definitely be a winner if spruced up a bit. Just speed up the blending process and maybe make it more arcade-y (add a time limit, squares that aren't supposed to be blended, powerups, etc.) Lots of creative ways for ya' to polish this title if you so desire. <br/> <br/>Hope you enjoyed your first LD and that you'll be back next time around! |
| May 1 09:50:00 | 3m 00s | quadTRI | This is a really fun way to reinvent tic-tac-toe. I played by myself and either won or lost, I'm not sure which. |
| May 1 09:54:00 | 4m 00s | Lines | Trippy game. The visuals remind me of Pink Floyd for some reason. |
| May 1 10:05:00 | 11m 00s | Molbert | Holy moly (pun intended), the visuals are superb! I got stuck in the walls a few times and apparently you can die from jumping over the top of the screen. But in the end, it's a cute little platformer. The gem mechanic could be explored in a lot of interesting ways if the level design was more labyrinthine. <br/> <br/>Good job with this one! :) |
| May 1 10:18:00 | 13m 00s | Where is my Bone? | A short and sweet cautionary tale that warns the reader of dogs' transmorphic powers. *spoiler alert* <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>The potato-related endings were an unexpected twist. |
| May 1 10:21:00 | 3m 00s | Hell Hole | Nice to see Inky getting some work now that his arcade days are over. |
| May 1 10:24:00 | 3m 00s | Chehc | Nifty artwork. Was a bit confused at first but it made sense after a little while. |
| May 1 10:30:00 | 6m 00s | Less Is more a game by I 13 year old | Cool! A couple things: <br/> <br/>* I could still play after getting a game over. <br/>* I wasn't sure what the goal of the game was. I just wandered around everywhere <br/> <br/>A game based on the concept of exploring mazes in a limited amount of time could be very creatively done. I hope you'll continue to expand on your ideas, as well as participate in the LD. You have potential, as we all do! |
| May 1 10:32:00 | 2m 00s | Labyrinth Run | Controlling with the mouse was a nice change of pace. Just add some obstacles (teleports, enemies, etc.) and it'd be crazy fun! |
| May 1 10:38:00 | 6m 00s | Equalizer | Very minimalist, very well coded, very complimentary adjective. Good work! |
| May 1 10:42:00 | 4m 00s | The Minimalizer | The physics were a little off at times, usually when ladders where involved. But that's easy to look past, considering the rest was nicely done. Great graphics and exceptional music seal the deal for me. |
| May 1 10:52:00 | 10m 00s | Twinimalism | Not only are the visuals beastly pretty, but the amount of thought you put into the theme is staggering. For a game about minimalism, I'm enjoying it to the maximum (please don't kill me for that one.) |
| May 1 10:59:00 | 7m 00s | imy | That balloon mechanic was one of the single funnest things I've ever seen in a platformer. |
| May 1 11:08:00 | 9m 00s | Jejeboy: Baby Volleyball | After hitting the baby to keep it from colliding with the ground several times, my character just started clipping through him. It was fun while it worked though! |
| May 1 11:15:00 | 7m 00s | A Man from the Docks | Loving the presentation. Would it be possible to map the movement to the arrow keys, perhaps? I need to sleep for now but will hopefully play more tomorrow. <br/> <br/>*spoiler alert* <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>Right now I've gotten up to the ship to leave for the Devil's Dome. I move the square to it and press shift, but nothing seems to happen. Same for the other areas... am I doing something wrong? |
| May 1 22:01:00 | 10h 46m | My Dr Ian | The jump seemed to be a little delayed. Also, the player hovered about the ground at times for no discernible reason. Good effort, though. I liked the wall jumping mechanic and the background. :) |
| May 1 22:04:00 | 3m 00s | The Theft of Colour | I want to try it, but the shortcut in the default directory doesn't seem to work. When I head over to the bin file to manually run the .exe, it doesn't start up either. |
| May 1 22:12:00 | 8m 00s | Tetriminodes | Coolio! The music was catchy and the main mechanic interesting. Not bad at all! |
| May 1 22:14:00 | 2m 00s | Harmonize | Beautiful art! At the game's end, you can suddenly just mash all the keys so the sounds they make won't be in time with the music though. |
| May 1 22:18:00 | 4m 00s | Feng Shooey | Nifty. I encountered a glitch: if your character walks outside of the screen by accident, he vanishes and you have to exit the game. Good idea though, and fitting soundtrack. |
| May 1 22:33:00 | 15m 00s | 9 | The concept was great! On stage 3, are the positions of the red blocks randomly generated? I tried it after exiting the game once and they appeared in separate locations. The reason I ask is because sometimes I'd fly into them without any time to attack due to the automatic jumping mechanic. |
| May 1 23:03:00 | 30m 00s | Long Live the King | This game was quite fun, but the enemies seemed really powerful. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I kept getting mobbed and repeatedly dying to the first group of them I encountered. I still thought the presentation and gameplay were well done. |
| May 1 23:12:00 | 9m 00s | Dungeon Runner | I wish there was a way to attack. Those evil cylinders gave me the creeps. Good job! |
| May 2 00:09:00 | 57m 00s | Super MiniMan | Simple yet well done visuals and engaging gameplay. I liked how the enemies chased you, but it was hard to maneuver at times. A double jump or fast player speed would have helped. |
| May 2 00:26:00 | 17m 00s | Bliss Wings | Cute game! A few things: <br/> <br/>* Sometimes it was a bit awkward to control <br/>* I occasionally had trouble placing and grabbing objects (for example, putting the spider web on top of the log to reach the log on a ledge in stage 2) <br/> <br/>Still, the concept is great and could lead to some very unique puzzles. The music was catchy too. :) |
| May 2 00:42:00 | 16m 00s | Bayou | Terrific atmosphere! I threw my spear into the water at one point and just kept floating to enjoy the ambiance. Can that croc in the distance ever knock your boat over? |
| May 2 01:33:00 | 51m 00s | Too Much Loot! | Super fun game, all in all. The randomly generated levels give it replayability, and having to think about which item to drop was quite strategic. |
| May 2 01:45:00 | 12m 00s | I Dream In Color | This game was like Lemmings and the Incredible machine rolled into a glorious, surreal package of splendiferousness. My favorite part was illuminating the shoes to reveal their skeletons and keep them from walking to their doom. I'd kill for a full version of this; there's at least a million ways to expand upon its remarkable concept. |
| May 2 01:56:00 | 11m 00s | Seven | So cute! I thought the cat puzzle was the hardest, still trying to figure it out. The others seemed easy in comparison, but maybe it's just me. |
| May 2 02:14:00 | 18m 00s | Funky Lincoln Saves the Day | Great graphics and a fun take on the runner game genre. I kept having Megaman 8 flashbacks while playing this for some reason... |
| May 2 02:42:00 | 28m 00s | Escape from the Tower | Pretty graphics and good gameplay! I wish that the doors would only open if you pressed in their direction with a key, but that would mean redesigning the levels where you're not supposed to pass by certain ones. Great first LD entry, hope to see more from you! :) |
| May 2 03:02:00 | 20m 00s | RCK-PPR-SWRD | Cool idea, and it seems pretty polished! I'm using Windows 7 and it worked fine for me. I also liked how you collected health outside of battle and that it required skill to time your turns correctly. |
| May 2 03:19:00 | 17m 00s | Nest | This is the nest game. |
| May 2 03:32:00 | 13m 00s | A Simple Circle | Expertly done physics, clean sprites, and great audio. It's like a minimalistic version of The Incredible Machine. Give it a go, people! :) |
| May 2 03:50:00 | 18m 00s | Ellsworth | Stellar visuals and polished play. It definitely captured minimalism well. |
| May 2 03:58:00 | 8m 00s | Apples | Those apples flying outside the walls on startup is either a game-breaking bug or brilliant symbolism; not sure which. Hopefully if it's the former you'll have it fixed soon. :( |
| May 2 04:05:00 | 7m 00s | F*** This Job | That guy's workplace sure isn't OSHA compliant. No wonder he wants to quit. Also, it's a fun and beautifully drawn game. |
| May 2 04:20:00 | 15m 00s | Dngncrwlr | Cool! A new twist on an old classic. Sometimes, I could keep moving even when the textboxts popped up (for example, after defeating an orc.) I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. |
| May 2 04:28:00 | 8m 00s | Less is More | It's very difficult to hit enemies with the punch. It might be better to create some sort of object actually in front of the player to prevent him from being repeatedly hit while attacking. <br/> <br/>Things I liked: <br/> <br/>* the novel concept <br/>* how the environment's colors changed when you collected too many points. |
| May 2 04:51:00 | 23m 00s | Particles | Wow, this was a masterpiece. Amazing concept and brilliant execution. The music was soothing and helped me enjoy the tricky yet balanced puzzles. <br/> <br/>A minor bug I encountered: after beating the last stage and clicking to exit, the program kept running even though it had disappeared from the task bar. I eventually had to close it with the task manager. I'm using Windows 7, if that helps. |
| May 2 05:06:00 | 15m 00s | Minima | Pretty! The gameplay was kind of frustrating at times, until I learned to just explore a tiny open area and make the square come to me. <br/> <br/>It was a little hard to read the text at the end due to the darkness. <br/> <br/>*spoiler alert* <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>--- <br/> <br/>I'll let you know once I've taken the square home, I'm still searching for the place as I write this. |
| May 2 05:16:00 | 10m 00s | Ping | This is superb! Colliding with the wall always felt like it was genuinely the player's fault, rather than being the result of wonky code. The sound effects were fitting and the visuals simple yet well pieced together. Finally, I liked how using the echolocation was entirely optional, allowing a more skilled player to stay shrouded in darkness longer. <br/> <br/>One of the best LD games I've played of late. Give it a try, peeps. |
| May 2 12:30:00 | 7h 14m | Plex | Spiffy game! It seemed pretty polished aesthetically, and the gameplay was simple but fun. I tried the web version and got stuck after folding (I couldn't move once the animation had finished), so hopefully that'll be fixed soon. Nice of you to offer the soundtrack as well, I'm a huge fan of the violin. :) |
| May 2 14:21:00 | 1h 51m | Silly Jumpin' Pixel [Working link] | Decent concept, but I would probably change how the jumping mechanic works. Right now it's usually so safe to hug the right and left sides of the screen while periodically mashing the spacebar that it breaks the game. Maybe you could have it so the player has a variable amount of jumps that increases every few seconds, while the screen gradually rises? <br/> <br/>Just a suggestion, good work overall. :) |
| May 2 14:29:00 | 8m 00s | Werewolf in Space | The title reminded me of a B-movie. It was short and sweet, and the randomness of the lycanthropy gave it bit of replayability. |
| May 2 14:38:00 | 9m 00s | Minimallist | Coolio. A few things: <br/> <br/>* I seemed to be able to knock enemies through the walls <br/>* It'd be nice to add an invulnerability period after the player gets damaged <br/>* The game lagged for me at times <br/> <br/>The sprites and sounds were nice though, and it was fun to smack things with my purse. Is the ninja killable, by chance? |
| May 2 14:47:00 | 9m 00s | Bear Necessities | Pretty cool! It'd be nice if you could press a key or something once in the cave to hibernate once you were done collecting food. I liked the music, especially how it slowed once you started losing energy. The map editor was nifty as well! |
| May 2 14:54:00 | 7m 00s | NoBility | Not to be a grammar Nazi, but on stage 2 when the dialogue says "and was able to..." I think it should be "were able to..." <br/> <br/>As for the actual game, it's solid. Polished gameplay and a fun mechanic, although I misunderstood it at first and thought that I'd literally only be able to jump/move/perform one specific action per stage. The graphics did their job well, and the music was fitting. Just add some more levels, traps, and abilities and you'll have yourself a fine little platformer. :) |
| May 2 14:58:00 | 4m 00s | First, You Take A Potato | Never before has taking potatoes been so wonderfully pixeled. |
| May 2 15:07:00 | 9m 00s | Cube Labyrinth | The collision detection is a bit off. I enjoy maze games, but it'd be nice if this one had more unique obstacles to keep it fresh. I believe its possible to make a game both mimalistic and unique, so I hope if you continue to work on this you'll develop some creative ways to reinvent the genre. Keep up the good work! :) |
| May 2 15:14:00 | 7m 00s | Minimalism Tower Defense | Well hey, I was surprised that this was the first tower defense game I'd seen for the LD. It seemed like a genre that you could apply minimalism to easily. <br/> <br/>It seems a little glitchy at times. The giant red and green spheres will sometimes collide with the wall and just stop, rather than trying to escape with my green triangles. I also couldn't place my tower on one occasion after starting the game. But you know, it's fun when it works. Good going! |
| May 2 15:37:00 | 23m 00s | Tinge | Interesting. Are you supposed to just be able to walk through the animals and arrows (which I assume are trees?) The audio was quite relaxing, but I felt like the gameplay was a bit bare. |
| May 2 15:42:00 | 5m 00s | Cube Dinosaurs? | Cube Dinosaurs? Why yes, yes they are. Wish the platforming was a bit more varied, but the models were cute. |
| May 2 15:50:00 | 8m 00s | Potato Accelerator | Those potatoes sure did accelerate. |
| May 2 15:59:00 | 9m 00s | GUNSLINGER | Cool! It does what it set out to do well, and the visuals rock. One suggestion: add a two player mode. |
| May 2 16:06:00 | 7m 00s | -End- | The collision detection is a little borked betimes. I can be standing several pixels away from the enemies and still get hit. Still, I like this game's visuals and audio; both capture the essence of minimalism. |
| May 2 22:47:00 | 6h 41m | SpeedJumper ! | Cool idea coupled with some neat visuals. Sadly, I had a hard time beating the first level because I'd often slam into the walls at the end, even if I was mere pixels away from the door. Maybe you could make it so they don't kill you like the obstacles do? <br/> <br/>The second level actually seemed a lot easier than the first. I wasn't able to process after that, because that jump you have to make off the ledge in the third level nearly guarantees you won't be able to jump again without colliding with the walls at the end (and you need the extra speed to beat the time limit.) |
| May 2 23:11:00 | 24m 00s | BryonGlass | Nice to see another TD game. This one was a little too bare bones for me, even considering the minimalist theme. I did like the idea of having to use as few resources as possible though. Hope you keep at it! :) |
| May 3 00:29:00 | 1h 18m | Arcane Siphon | Interesting mechanic. It'd be cool if the objects in your environment, depending on what they are, gave you different abilities once drained. The AI seemed responsive, and the landscape did a good job embodying minimalism. Good game, overall. |
| May 3 01:00:00 | 31m 00s | <Title> | So I started up the game, but for some reason there were no lights? I could still move around and bump into the walls though. The protagonist was pretty adorable for a block/robot/man creature. |
| May 3 01:15:00 | 15m 00s | DIG QUEST Deluxe: ASCII Mining Adventure | Simple yet fun gameplay and an emotionally gripping story. Sadly, I started lagging hard on the third stage (I was playing the Flash version.) I had to exit because of it, so I'm not sure if you ever get the chance to explore rooms to the left and right instead of ones just directly below you. I liked it though, good work! |
| May 3 01:19:00 | 4m 00s | Sunset Death | Too bad there wasn't a single player option... I don't think the AI would be too hard to program (at least I hope not.) Nonetheless, it has a lot of flair and replayability in its current form. The graphics were gorgeous, the gameplay smooth, and the audio fittingly sparse. Congrats on your quality LD entry! |
| May 3 01:42:00 | 23m 00s | Bezier Challenge | I tried the web version, but it crashed after I clicked the first level on the title screen. I'm using Chrome, if it helps to mention (I'm not sure if that affects it at all; quite unfamiliar with Unity's webplayer.) <br/> <br/>Once I downloaded the windows version though, I found the game itself both creative and enjoyable. It kept things fresh by introducing new streams of colored light with different behaviors each level. Also, I never got frustrated when misjudging how to adjust the landscape because of the game's forgiving nature. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the presentation is clean and professional. <br/> <br/>All in all, a very welcome addition to the LD. Highly recommended. |
| May 3 01:50:00 | 8m 00s | Save the Potato, Save the world. | Wow. That's some fine pixel work, that there. I particularly enjoy how expressive the robot is while jumping. The premise was simple and fun, and who doesn't love seeing a giant, expressive "LOSE" when they fall to their death? <br/> <br/>I give this one four spuds out of five. You might even say it's "tuber" great. |
| May 3 02:02:00 | 12m 00s | CREPITUS | I wish the enemy AI was a bit smarter... because otherwise, this game was lots of fun. The weapon variety added replayablity, but I just didn't have much trouble avoiding the Crepiti due to their predictability. <br/> <br/>The visuals really do their job well, as did the simplistic sounds. If you added more enemy types with varied behaviors I can definitely envision myself digging this game. It's pretty good as is, don't get me wrong. But I'd love to see what you do with it in the future if you continue to work on it! |
| May 3 02:10:00 | 8m 00s | IAO | This was fun enough as just a line, but the evolving aspect made it even better. I kind of wish you had a healthbar instead of a timer though, so that skilled players could theoretically keep on playing forever. That's just a minor thing though that didn't really subtract from the experience. <br/> <br/>Marvelously crafted game right here, folks. Give it a whirl. |
| May 3 02:24:00 | 14m 00s | _M_ | The audio really set the mood. I'm not sure if I've figured it out quite yet, but I like it when games challenge you to think outside the box. It's almost like a visual riddle of sorts. Great work! :) |
| May 3 02:28:00 | 4m 00s | Mr. Sphere vs a Giant Potato | Better than Monty Python. <br/> <br/>Hey, you. Those pretty sprites are pretty. |
| May 3 02:41:00 | 13m 00s | Chez Angelo | I really enjoyed this... game... fever dream-type thing. But when I found the key, I couldn't pick it up no matter how much I tried. :( <br/> <br/>I'll give it another go soon. But the level of detail that went into this one is breathtaking. From the buildings outside to the waving painting flyers, it's just a very surreal and brilliant experience. Very good work on your part! |
| May 3 02:53:00 | 12m 00s | minobi | Minobi... gotta' love that reference. 'Twas a good game overall, I just encountered a few minor bugs: <br/> <br/>* Sometimes the player's run sprite would continue to be displayed even while they were standing still <br/>* I occasionally had trouble dropping through the thin grey platforms; the down key seemed unresponsive <br/> <br/>Nice graphics and gameplay. Minobi is fun for the whole family (or just one person, alternatively.) |
| May 3 04:46:00 | 1h 53m | Minimalism | It was hard to hear the music over all the explosions, and amount of enemies that spawned was so high that sometimes I wasn't able to navigate the tunnels without plowing through them. Pretty cool game overall, just needs some fine tuning to be a classic. :) |
| May 3 05:30:00 | 44m 00s | the sunset | Aww, this was super kawaii (pardon my French.) I liked the simplistic graphics and movement mechanic. I'm not sure if you could ever interact with the sleeping animals, but it was cool to just find them snoozing in various places. The ending was sweet too! :) |
| May 3 05:39:00 | 9m 00s | Block Man | I got stuck in the walls a few times, and that level with the spikes on the ceiling and walls where you had to fall into the chasms and bounce to progress seemed near impossible to me. Could be more fun with a bit of polish, for sure. Keep at it! |
| May 3 05:54:00 | 15m 00s | Moonshot | Soothing music, and the mechanic was pretty fun. Plus, those graphics looked pretty and suited the game well. Nice little game, this be. |
| May 3 06:01:00 | 7m 00s | Peter The Stranger | Decent lil' platformer. Congrats on your first LD entry! I got stuck in the walls several times and apparently you can still jump in the air when falling if you haven't already used your jump. Hopefully you fix those bugs sometime, as well as build off of this game to create bigger and better ones in the future. Good job! |
| May 3 06:23:00 | 22m 00s | Life/Routine | Woah, procedural music generation? Far out. This sure was a creative and engaging way to express minimalism. The instructions seemed to be a bit confusing, but I quickly learned what to do by getting in game and clicking around to experiment. <br/> <br/>I like how the player can adjust difficulty on the fly. Sometimes the sounds were a little too loud when I'd placed a substantial number of obstacles; maybe an option to adjust the volume would remedy that? <br/> <br/>This one definitely get high marks for creativity. Good work, 'tis a very unique game! |
| May 3 06:34:00 | 11m 00s | Indo World | Cool! I minimalized those cities like a pro. Maybe I'm cut out for a career in demolition. |
| May 3 06:50:00 | 16m 00s | Platonic Dot Solid | Such a whimsical little game. I kept falling off platforms due to perspective, and the controls didn't want to cooperate at times. However, I enjoyed the transformations and their different powers. The voice acting was pretty crisp and humorous as well. <br/> <br/>Good entry, overall. Great going! :) |
| May 3 06:59:00 | 9m 00s | MIN | Really beautiful game! I was a bad enough due to rescue to pueblos, I guess. <br/> <br/>I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but if you stand next to the tower and just hit space repeatedly, you can climb it without even using the platforms. <br/> <br/>Really anxious to see the source once it's fully released. Good going, you should be proud of this! |
| May 4 00:29:00 | 17h 30m | MSG - Match Set Game | Very competently done game! I could definitely see myself playing this on a mobile device if I had one. |
| May 5 01:14:00 | 24h 45m | BareBones | You're a really talented writer. Good going with this one! |
| May 5 01:43:00 | 29m 00s | Factorism | This game seems very polished and fun! It almost reminds me of Pipe Mania. For some reason, the routers would always be facing down when I tried to place them though, even if I had rotated them. |
| May 5 01:47:00 | 4m 00s | U | I was impressed that there was a decent amount of challenge even though you couldn't jump. Pretty clever take on minimalism! |
| May 5 02:02:00 | 15m 00s | Bong Out Wars | Nice blending of genres. The graphics were simple and clean, and I liked the music. Wish I had someone else to try it with, but I had fun playing it alone anyway. Good work! :) |
| May 5 03:26:00 | 1h 24m | 16 | Simple, but surprisingly fun. The shop gave it replay value and I loved the soundtrack. Nice one! |
| May 5 04:42:00 | 1h 16m | Pick-M | I really wish this one had expanded on the ability picking concept. Great concept for your first LD, and the platforming seemed bug-free as far as I could tell. Good luck with future entries! |
| May 5 04:59:00 | 17m 00s | Fjoxel | Really fun gameplay. Things I especially liked: <br/> <br/>* the minimap <br/>* the varied enemy behaviors <br/>* the particle effects for enemy and player deaths <br/> <br/>The boss of stage one actually seemed easier than those flashing red blocks and the snake thing. Anyway, terrific entry. Well done! |
| May 5 05:10:00 | 11m 00s | Brutaliz'Art LD26 | Hilarious. Many props for such a creative interpretation of the theme! |
| May 5 05:19:00 | 9m 00s | Minimalistic Maze | Good of you to commit to getting something done. A co-op maze game could really bloom into something awesome if you give it time and thought. Would love to see your future LD entries, keep at it! |
| May 5 05:22:00 | 3m 00s | Minimalism | When I click on the link, it just takes me to a white screen and nothing loads. I'm using Chrome, but I tested it in Firefox and IE and got the same result. :( |
| May 5 05:27:00 | 5m 00s | Sleepwalker | Cool! I had to experiment with different deaths a few times, but it seemed very intuitive and I learned where to place what quickly. Nice little brain teaser this was, good going! |
| May 5 05:30:00 | 3m 00s | Circle Barrage | Simple but fun. What's not to like? |
| May 5 05:56:00 | 26m 00s | Square Quest | Wow, this was really fun. A few things: <br/> <br/>* There seemed to be two pieces of gold in the forest I couldn't collect, because they were behaving like solid objects. <br/>* In the desert section, the player's projectiles were the same color as the sand and pretty much impossible to see after being fired. <br/>* The music was a little loud at times. <br/> <br/>Other than those minor issues, this was a really well done game. I liked the eight directional shooting and the soundtrack was amazing. I never encountered any glitches during gameplay, and I highly enjoying exploring the dungeons. Fantastic job! |
| May 5 07:08:00 | 1h 12m | Yellow Space | Love this one. 'Twas really fun to maneuver the ship around, and being able to customize the difficulty on the fly was a major plus. Good work! |
| May 5 07:34:00 | 26m 00s | Agoraphobia | I couldn't quite figure out the patterns of the grey boxes. It was interesting trying to avoid them, at any rate. |
| May 5 07:42:00 | 8m 00s | Minimalist Horror Story | Spooky stuff. Those 3d models are keen, and the atmosphere was great. |
| May 5 08:07:00 | 25m 00s | Colors | Well hey, that was a creative concept. Changing the player's color to give them different attributes really could be used in a ton of innovative ways. Unfortunately, there wasn't too much done with it. I really wish it affected your powers or how you interacted with the environment or enemies somehow. <br/> <br/>Also, I got stuck in the walls a few times. Still, this was a charming game. The graphics were very well done and I liked exploring a giant, minimalistic painting. Good going! |
| May 5 08:12:00 | 5m 00s | Tulip | Cute. The game's main mechanic might be improvable if there were occasionally squares you would actively want to be on the top or bottom to touch - powerups or score boosters of some sort. <br/> <br/>Overall, a very competently done minigame. The flower garden aspect of it was a nice touch too. |
| May 5 08:57:00 | 45m 00s | Pulcino | This game's music and graphics are superb. I do wish there were more choices to make, but I think you got a fair amount done within the time limit. |
| May 5 09:19:00 | 22m 00s | Zombies Ate My TItle | The gameplay was pretty fluid and the graphics were dandy. Maybe you could make it so that every so often, an ammo pickup will spawn in a room if the player is out? That would give them a way to keep playing if their shots get dispersed by a group of zombies. <br/> <br/>Really classy first LD entry, all in all. Looking forward to your future works! |
| May 5 09:27:00 | 8m 00s | PRISMA | Loved the atmosphere and audio. Fit the theme to a tee. |
| May 5 23:29:00 | 14h 02m | 1BtnBounce | Dang, whoever composed the music for this one has a serious knack for it. The gameplay was simple and fun, and you clearly went above and beyond to include a two-player mode. Oh, and of course the graphics look wonderful. Fantastic game! |
