I really like it! I'm only concerned as around 4600km I ran out of power but it didn't game over or anything.. you might have a missing fail condition in there... I got to 5100km before I decided to end it by crashing into an asteroid. Still.. I really liked the narration you did! It was pretty funny... Could you tell me what the character says backwards when you get a clock powerup? It's probably something like "Rewinding time" but I was too lazy to try and figure it out myself. :P
Final score: 1386. Quite fun! I loved your narration. It wasn't until I got a slow time powerup that you were saying "Power!" and "Big Power!" when I collected those powerups. Before that, I was hearing "Pow!" and "Bang! Pow!", which I thought was very funny as well. Nice music, too! Nice slow buildup to more challenging gameplay. I would've also liked to see some variation in the asteroid behavior (like moving back and forth or something like that), but the slow decrease of power led me to try more daring stunts to keep getting more power.
@cornelia-xaos OMG! I totally forgot to code for that condition... I wonder if its considered a game breaking bug and if so then I could fix it. I was so wrapped up with everything else I just honestly forgot. Yes that is exactly what I said "Rewinding Time".
@ianburnette Thats interesting the sounds for Power and Big Power are the words Power and Big Power.
I'm glad you both like the game!

This is one of my favorite games so far. Nice sound, nice arcade feel, fun and simple. Feels polished. I wish it would have gotten harder faster though.
It's really fun to play. I really enjoy the fun voice over and sounds.
Positive:
- Sound and graphics are on point, they are great and fits the mood. - It's intuitive and fun to play, you want to get a high score. - The voiceover is a great feature.
Negative:
- It might get repetitive after a while.
Great job!!!
Great cute game :) I really liked the audio: both the sfx and the voice over.
The gameplay wan't particularly innovative, but it was done well. I enjoyed the variety of powerups.
I really enjoyed the pixely graphics. It was kind of a shame that you strayed toward more hi-res ones in some places (star background, main menu).
Overall, a very nice game
Nice, a fun take on a classic arcade-style game. The control for the ship felt tight, when I finally hit an asteroid, it was definitely my fault and not the controls. I wasn't a huge fan of the pixel art mixed with non-pixel assets, but I understand the need to in a time crunch like this. Overall, good work, and thanks for making this!
So... I wasn't in the mood for text when I opened this game. Oops.
However, I managed to get past the opening screen and I really enjoyed the player's ship animation. It made me happy. Those side-thrusters just made moving feel great. I apologize for my odd enjoyment of your game.
Good job making a simple yet solid game. Power felt a little bit abundant, but I'm sure that's just a balance issue. Well done.
POWER! 4331! At first the voice seemed a little annoying. But I was wrong. It grew on me quickly. I'd say biggest issue there is the high-pitched vocals got distorted so it's difficult to tell what is being said sometimes, especially with the blue wormholes. It took me a long time to figure out what the wrenches were actually doing for me, but once I understood, I was very glad for them.
Good job on this one, @kunonooni, and BIG POWER! to you!
Pretty basic arcade style game with serviceable graphics and easy controls. Could definitely use some iteration on the concept or things to mix up the action, like maybe cross moving asteroids or pickups that clear nearby asteroids, or maybe little chaser fighters (from the fleet that is chasing you) who try to hit or shoot you and you try to lead them into asteroids to destroy them.
As it is you're pretty much at the mercy of the rng to determine if you'll get enough power to keep the run going, and other than that timer the theme doesn't really come into play.
I liked the setting and story, it got me into the game, and I would like to see it fleshed out more.
Fun game and it looks great. I really liked the art, it all fit very well together. I wish the difficulty progression was faster. It took a long time to get to a point where it was challenging. The clock power-up resetting the speed back to the base speed (at least that is what I think happens) seem too generous, maybe making the slowdown temporary or just slowing things down a little would have helped with that. There seems to be a bug where the score doesn't reset after losing. I would get hit by an asteroid and play again but my score would be at what it was when I died.
Thank you all for the feedback! Here is what all of the voice overs for the powerup say.
1. yellow lightning bolt: **Power!** 2. blue lightning bolt: **Big Power!** 3. red clock: **Rewinding Time** (said backwards) 4. light blue wormhole: **Ludicrous Speed. GO!** (bonus points if you can name the movie this is from ) This is also by far my favorite one too  5. grey wrench: **Power Repaired.**
If I do voice overs again I'll see if I can make the voice sound crisper. I wasn't really happy with the reverb in the voice myself.
The reason I mixed pixel and non pixel graphics is because Unity's particle system makes it so easy! and honestly I'm not really that good of a pixel artist. There was a way to use textures in the particle system but I can't seem to find it anymore.
As for adding variation to the asteroids, I was just thinking about this on the drive home from work today. I though about having another spawner that created asteroids that move much faster than the other asteroids. It would have been a different color to distinguish it from the other asteroids. Having some that moved from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen diagonal would have been interesting too.
Yes game balance was something I wanted to revisit before I finished but I didn't have enough time. I did a lot of play testing and I thought I had a good balance but it seems at times there is too much power and other times there isn't enough. So yeah, the game is at the mercy of the RNG.
Well again thank you all for the feedback and I hope you all enjoyed playing my game!

Love the sound in this game, the music is well made and the powerup sound fx are really funny. I think that the only real change I can think of is that there should be some different types of obstacles later on in the game to make it more interesting.
@benbennett Wow! I can't believe I forgot to reset that to 0! Apparently I didn't do enough playtesting. LOL! Thank you for playing my game and letting me know about the bug.
Great instincts doing the sound that way! I'm always relieved to hear music and non-bfxr audio on a LD game. The text, font choice, etc. is thematically on point. You did really well on this!
I can never convince myself to do a classic-style arcade game for these things, I always try to make it too complicated. Props to you.
This is the first game I've rated that made me physically laugh (with sfx).
Very nice entry. Several choices seem really well suited to the overall aesthetic. The art style, font, sounds, music, and voice clips were all great. I would say that the difficulty didn't seem to ramp fast enough for my tastes; too many power pickups made it pretty easy to chain several warps in a row without worrying too much about recovering power afterwards. Great job on this entry!

994 km!
I LOVE the sounds, your sped up voice is so cute and funny :-)
The graphics are also very charming, your style is consistent and has a very personal, programmer artsy, touch :-)
Cool music, intuiitive and good controls.
What more to say, this is a great entry, thank you and keep up the good work!
Hehe, ludicrous power... Space Balls. I love it.
Great game, it was a lot of fun. The VO was a little strange... I am not entirely sure if I liked it or not, but it definitely added to the atmosphere of the game. I had several times where the power pickup would overlap with an asteroid right at where my ship would be, and this happened several times in a row, effectively putting me into a corner. I would have liked to have at least a little forward / backward mobility to help combat that and add a little more strategy to it.
@steve-johnson I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I wish I could return the favor and play yours but sadly no windows version. Perhaps next time. Your previous entry for LD38 was awesome!
@sketchycode every 7 seconds the speed of the asteroids and powerups increases. I had lowered it but it seemed to ramp up too quickly. Balance is so hard for me when doing an LD.
@gonutz 994km isn't that bad. thank you for playing!
@doomshmuck The thing I didn't like about the voice over was the little big of reverb. I'm not sure why it was there. I just wanted to sound like a chipmunk haha! Did you ever get any of the red clocks? those slow down the asteroids. Wonder if that would have solved your problem.
Nice! Can't really knock it for anything other than maybe being a little small and simple, more than understandable given the time limit :)

Fun game. Fairly simple, but cute with the sound effects and the setup. I got to 1331 and I think I saw several of each powerup. The warps seemed to make scoring into basically how many warps did you find rather than how good are you at the game. It reminded me a lot of the old Ambrosia Software games for Mac from the 1990's that also had cute sounds and simple arcade-based gameplay with a variety of power-ups. Nice work!

Good old-skool music! Accurate graphics, nice explosion effect. I didn't like very much the high-pitched voice SFX. Too bad you can't fire bullets!

This seems to be a very common genre this Ludum Dare! xD
Just so you know, you misspelled congratulations when you lose, so you might want to fix that.
The game was nice, it controlled well and the powerups were pretty cool. The one major complaint I have is how overpowered the wormholes were. It felt like the main objective was to get to the wormholes specifically because of how far it took you. I short 50 to 100km jump would've been enough.
Good job though!
Hey thank you all for playing my game!
@cmlsc Really? I even googled it to make sure I spelled it right... *googles it again*... oh, well we'll just add that to the list of stupid things I've done with this game
Made it 3189 before blowing it and hitting a rock to score some power I didn't need ,lol.
I like it! Fun little game. Audio was the high point for me, both the voice and music. Might be nice to have a couple different takes of "Power!" to break up to monotony.
I'm kinda of two minds on the Time Pocket power-up. On one hand, it really slows down the difficulty curve (Okay, actually it completely resets it) every time you pick one up. On the other hand, I actually had one occasion where I purposely avoided it because I was low on power and wanted thing to fall faster. Maybe limit Time Pockets to appearing only after a certain threshold? I dunno. I do know that I would have liked the game to get more difficult a lot faster!
Almost reached 2000 with my 3rd playthrough. :) I really enjoyed the funky music, sounds like an FM synth of an arcade cabinet and also found the sound effects very fitting. Maybe the graphics could have given some more time (I know, I know, we don't have time for that!) but aside from that, I had fun playing this very arcadey games. Maybe in later stages it would have been nice to have some new gameplay element, e.g. horizontally moving asteroids, or enemy ships or somthing. But still: Very fun to play, solid entry!

Fun game! Really liked the sounds.
2259! Liked the game and the sounds. I hit a lucky section where I hit three wormholes almost in a row. I died going for a powerup that I didn't really need. I wanted to see what the clock did, so I ran across the level to get it, and when I did the asteroid that should have flew past me instead slowed down and I ran into it...
It was a fun little diversion. It played smoothly and even when things got crazy it never felt unfair. The ship was responsive enough to easily steer but had a little glide to make things interesting.
Suggestions: - Add some replayability. Extra obstacles, powerups, purchasable items, something. I played for a few minutes and don't feel like I'm going to get any new experience playing again. Even a leaderboard or something so players could compare times would make playing again attractive. - Maybe asteroids that fall at an angle? As long as the angle isn't steep it might be a quick and easy way to add some variability!
Bugs: -Nothing. I went for a long time with no powerups on the screen once. Not sure if they are random or if a bug happened, but I got down to about 60% energy getting every single one.

Amazing!
Excellent avoid-em-up! Loved the lenient hurtbox, thank you! It's very much a game I'd be obsessed with back in the DOS days! I made it here on my second playthrough:

I think that's about the point where I ran out of energy both times actually. Maybe there could be more energy spawns the further up you go? With possibly some more asteroids to balance it? It felt a little linear after a point.
In any case, great job!

Nice job! It's like Alvin and the Chipmunks pilot a ship that is running out of power :) I'm sure that joke is already done above, but that's what the voices sounded like to me. Great job!
**Big Power!** Solid execution all around, but I need to give a particular shout out to the music and voiceover sfx, which added a perfect mixture of *cheesy* and *fun*.
I liked that it was leaning in the classic arcade direction, the music was really catchy.
I love the difficulty curve of this game, makes it feel really polished.
