| Apr 21 10:12:52 | Florence and the Alien | ♥ 1 | For a first submission this is great! Some sounds would have added some more depth to the gameplay, and a few of the animations, the running one in particular could be improved. Well done though. | |
| Apr 21 10:19:18 | 6m 26s | Lich Clicker | ♥ 1 | Incredible graphics and art! Some of the music fit very nicely. I feel that the gameplay/story elements could do with some refinement, and perhaps a clearer objective? There's no real incentive to keep playing after seeing the amazing artwork. Well done overall! |
| Apr 21 10:23:16 | 3m 58s | The Dragon's Curse | ♥ 2 | Very nice storytelling and beautiful graphics! |
| Apr 21 10:29:33 | 6m 17s | Günther | ♥ 1 | cute graphics style! Sometimes it seems the whales don't always eat you? and maybe the blood is a little too much! Great job though, really nice all round. |
| Apr 21 10:38:19 | 8m 46s | Hope | ♥ 0 | Amazing all round. The graphics and sound are fantastic. Only couple of thoughts I had, a ladder climbing animation would add a lot. At the moment it's an easy escape from the monsters, and is the only weak movement I can see so far. Also, replacing the text with an actual scene of what's happening! All things that can be added post-jam... This is one of my favourites so far! Well done. |
| Apr 21 10:43:54 | 5m 35s | My Mother is a Caravan? | ♥ 5 | Nice job! I like the mechanics and the overall mood of the game. The graphics are nice as well. I feel that the music could do with a little variety, as the sweeping effect does become repetitive after playing for a while. There's a lot to do in the game so I'll definitely be giving it a second go! Well done. |
| Apr 21 15:51:52 | 5h 07m | Lost Goblins | ♥ 1 | Nice graphics. Explanations are definitely needed though, as it's quite complex. |
| Apr 21 17:13:25 | 1h 21m | Planty's Day Out | ♥ 0 | The character/ enemy animations are fantastic! Sound FX are need improvement, and it feels like some mechanics are missing, like aiming. Some of the enemies in higher positions seem redundant if you can't interact with them nor them with you. Also, there should be a sense of objective so we know what to do. But again, the graphics were excellent! |
| Apr 21 17:22:26 | 9m 01s | You Live Like This? | ♥ 2 | Interesting concept! Voice overs are cool, and the intro was a nice touch. It seemed to crash on me after interacting with the computer. Some of the FX could do with editing to help bring them out, noise gating, and just generally tidying up. Good game all round :) |
| Apr 21 17:30:08 | 7m 42s | Keep Me Breathing | ♥ 2 | Really enjoyed this! The graphics and overall style are really nice. The music doesn't loop exactly, there's a fraction of a second causing a slight stutter. Matching the colour was difficult, maybe there's a clearer way of showing us what we need to do. Great work though! |
| Apr 21 17:33:29 | 3m 21s | Keep It Alive | ♥ 0 | Very nice! and very cute. Great humor and really well designed. Maybe having the buttons integrated with the theme would be the cherry on top. |
| Apr 21 17:45:30 | 12m 01s | Garden Royale | ♥ 2 | I think this might have been a little overly ambitious to be completely honest. You've done very well in a short space of time! It's good fun and fast paced. It's very difficult to really feel anything without sound, and everything feels very 2 dimensional. The player graphics and the trees look very cool, but some of the other assets like the water and the terrain itself don't seem to match. With a little work post-jam this could really come to life! |
| Apr 21 17:51:02 | 5m 32s | 🍄 Saki 🍄 | ♥ 1 | Nice! The graphics are nice (not sure why i can't score it though?). The music was wonderfully atmospheric, but some of the FX detract from that a little too much. switching between scenarios was interesting. would sure like to see what comes next! |
| Apr 21 17:54:13 | 3m 11s | SAVE THE DINOS! | ♥ 1 | nice take on the theme. it certainly gets challenging quickly! the graphics are very nice. there could be a lot more variety with the FX, especially the clicking one which gets repetitive very quickly. Great job overall! |
| Apr 21 20:08:11 | 2h 13m | Remember, Apollo | ♥ 2 | Solid all-round. Visuals and sound work together really nicely. I could see this working as a mobile game with some stronger puzzle elements or some form of action to turn it into a more compelling experience with more replay value. Well done. |
| Apr 21 20:20:33 | 12m 22s | Come to Mama | ♥ 2 | Great puzzle game. very cute design and nice graphics. Its frustrating being so limited as to where you can drop the tiles, unless I was missing something? Would be nice to have the arrows disguised as something else that fits the style as well, like a plant/animal or something.Looking forward to seeing what comes next!! |
| Apr 21 20:47:03 | 26m 30s | Keep the LEVEL ALIVE! | ♥ 0 | Great concept! I like what you did with the theme, it's certainly a unique idea and wit some work post-jam it could go much further. The main thing that bothered me was the generic fonts used in the text, and some don't seem to match. Music would've helped to make it more immersive. I look forward to seeing what comes next! |
| Apr 21 22:02:21 | 1h 15m | Embers | ♥ 0 | Awesome job. Beautiful graphics and well designed sound. the fire effects are very nice. Like others have said, a map would indeed be very useful. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what comes next with this game! |
| Apr 21 22:07:54 | 5m 33s | Dino spin | ♥ 3 | Awesome graphics! Nice interpretation of the theme and a great concept. It's certainly challenging to control it horizontally. Maybe something can be done to help players aim better in more difficult levels? great fun nonetheless |
| Apr 22 08:04:27 | 9h 56m | platformEGG | ♥ 2 | Nice graphics and overall style. I agree with others that you should be able to retry the same level after dying. Otherwise it's very frustrating having to replay everything again. Not being able to jump with the egg is a good idea, and encourages you to think ahead. Music and FX are also very fitting. Good job! |
| Apr 22 08:08:42 | 4m 15s | Burned by the Poi | ♥ 1 | Nice work. Very impressive graphics and lighting effects that create a nice atmosphere. Would be interesting to see what you do with it after the jam. |
| Apr 22 08:13:56 | 5m 14s | The joys of parenthood | ♥ 2 | Incorporating different languages was a really nice touch! Very nice overall style, but music and sound effects would have added a lot more impact and feel to the game. The minigames were good fun also |
| Apr 22 12:06:29 | 3h 52m | Woodpunk | ♥ 3 | Music is amazing! As a composer myself I was impressed with how it was written and produced. I love the transitions between different zones as well. Most of the fx were great as well, except the sound when an enemy hits you which needs another couple of variations as to not become overly repetitive. Graphics are beautiful as well. As a package you've all achieved a lot for such a short time period, and I wouldn't be surprised if this lands in the top 10, it certainly does in my books! |
| Apr 22 12:18:34 | 12m 05s | How to Air | ♥ 1 | Nice. Graphics were cool. For some reason, CH4 was displaying as helium. I completed it and was left with a rock at the end, wasn't sure if I had missed something. Very nice, laid back point and click! Good job. |
| Apr 22 12:24:46 | 6m 12s | Friendly Fire | ♥ 4 | I love the graphics and the artwork, especially the trees! Caught my attention right away. Music and FX were on point also. Great work! |
| Apr 22 12:28:26 | 3m 40s | Pirabbit | ♥ 1 | Art style is awesome! Very simple and effective mechanics, although there is sometimes a slight delay between clicking and jumping. I'm not sure how it relates to the theme exactly, but it's fun nonetheless. Great entry! |
| Apr 22 12:43:20 | 14m 54s | Sunlit | ♥ 4 | Screen Shot 2020-04-22 at 13.41.17.png I LOVED this game! Really satisfying to play and beautiful but simple visuals. I made it quite far up, then saw this little guy and had to keep going. Does he do anything? I was almost expecting him to jump on the tree and climb or something? Can't really fault it to be honest. Everything comes together nicely. |
| Apr 22 15:50:37 | 3h 07m | FIREGUARD | ♥ 3 | Nice work! I like the enemy design, they look really cool! A few varieties might have been nice. I think the music is a bit on the heavy side, might work better if it built up alongside the gameplay a bit more. I really like the difficulty option as well for terrible gamers like myself! |
| Apr 22 21:58:40 | 6h 08m | Keep Sweep | ♥ 1 | A fellow keep simulator game!! We made something similar(ish) for our entry. I like the shooting idea and the fact you can move to defend yourself. Some extra weapons would be nice and maybe the mouse could be used to aim instead of click-hold? Good job though. |
| Apr 22 22:05:09 | 6m 29s | Sheep Sheep Halloumi | ♥ 0 | really beautiful artwork and very fitting audio. aside from what has already been mentioned above about the sound with headphones etc, there's nothing but good things to say about this. Well done :) |
| Apr 22 22:08:47 | 3m 38s | DOC+ORS | ♥ 1 | really nice graphics. I like the menu design and the overall atmosphere you have created. maybe there could be a better way to switch between characters? |
| Apr 22 22:22:43 | 13m 56s | OwOrbit | ♥ 1 | Very nice graphics and style all round. A tutorial or perhaps an easier introductory stage would have been nice, as it's quite fast and takes a few tries to get into a flow. Good job. |
| Apr 23 09:07:05 | 10h 44m | Earth 2.0 | ♥ 2 | Looking good so far, at the moment it looks like a work in progress. It's difficult to avoid a lot of the asteroids if they spawn right in front of you suddenly. If would be much better if you could see them from a distance. Would be good to see what you do with the game post-jam |
| Apr 23 09:14:01 | 6m 56s | Egg's Eggsoddus | ♥ 3 | I got stuck in between the shelf and the fridge! I really like the graphics and the ability to explore. Some of those spike traps were really difficult! Would be interesting to see what you add in post-jam. Great job |
| Apr 23 09:20:16 | 6m 15s | Efi | ♥ 0 | The graphics and style are great. really enjoyed playing, some of those tight corridors were really tricky which added a level of challenge to it. it would be nice if the player could control the movement speed as well as turning, whether that would make the game too easy I'm not sure.. |
| Apr 23 09:31:17 | 11m 01s | The Lightwielder - Ludum Dare 46 | ♥ 1 | incredible visuals, i love the style. It would be great if the enemies could be designed in a similar style though. I wasn't too sure how the powers were supposed to work, maybe a slightly more explanatory tutorial would fix this for most people. i really like the atmosphere you've created with the sound and everything, awesome! |
| Apr 23 10:46:55 | 1h 15m | The Dark Cave | ♥ 1 | Nice work. i think you need to incorporate a wider sound palette for the intense atmospheric vibe you're going for. I love the visuals, especially the spider/monster! Would be great to see a more intense chase. It doesn't fit the theme, but that doesn't matter too much. |
| Apr 23 10:53:17 | 6m 22s | Timewalk | ♥ 1 | Nice music, and some of the artwork looks great. I don't think I understood the objective of the game, as you seem to walk aimlessly with very limited interaction. The idea of good/bad stars doesn't seem to really work, as it's just down to luck and the memories don't really mean anything if they're all the same. They could be used to tell a story or something interesting, and collecting more adds to a bigger story. I like the atmosphere you've started to create, but the lack of mechanics makes it difficult to continue playing for more than a few minutes. |
| Apr 23 11:01:34 | 8m 17s | Save the Fish | ♥ 1 | very polished artwork and good fun. The animations and sounds are funny too. great job! |
| Apr 23 15:15:44 | 4h 14m | For Ducks' Sake | ♥ 1 | I like the animations! Nice graphics. You need a few more sound FX for the enemies... shooting several in a row the sound becomes repetitive and somewhat disturbing! It would be nice to have an objective alongside protecting the babies, like an adventure or something. good game nonetheless! |
| Apr 23 20:49:49 | 5h 34m | No Time to EGGsplain | ♥ 1 | I love it! its kinda like Trials.... but with eggs. Very smooth controls, and satisfying to play. Everything is kept nice and simple, which works well, but a touch of music would be nice. Awesome game. |
| Apr 23 21:00:40 | 10m 51s | Angst | ♥ 5 | cool cartoon graphics! i really like the sound design as well. The ghosts are really cool. It seems that there are issues with the layering with some of the office furniture in the beginning, it looks like you're kinda walking over parts f the desk/chairs. would love to see what you do next with it! |
| Apr 23 21:05:37 | 4m 57s | Both or Nothing | ♥ 1 | Graphic design and music set the mood very nicely. It feels a bit limited in terms of scope, due to the luck based options. i'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity to expand post-jam. |
| Apr 23 21:11:24 | 5m 47s | Open Fire! | ♥ 2 | the game looks great. characters and enemies look badass. i think the game mechanics could do with refinement, as it doesn't really feel like we're doing much except hammering keys. some sound fx and aiming would make it feel much more satisfying to play. i like the dialog you've included as well, nice touch! |
| Apr 24 10:12:31 | 13h 01m | Missing Pieces | ♥ 1 | nice work. the graphics are reall nice. I found the clicking quite difficult to control, as sometimes the character seems to go wherever they want! I'm curious as to which guitar sample you are using? It sounds a little harsh in the mix but very realistic. The sound fx are great as well. well done. |
| Apr 24 10:28:43 | 16m 12s | Keep a Plant | ♥ 1 | the graphics are nice. simplicity is great in these jams. I'm not sure why a leaf is a weapon against the meteors? the meteors themselves need to be more randomised as they can be quite predictable. more variety in the music and fx would be nice to avoid over repetition. i'm sure these things can be easily incorporated post-jam. well done with what you've achieved though. |
| Apr 24 10:33:12 | 4m 29s | Last Light | ♥ 2 | some of the artwork is really nice. I like the text on screen but the font doesn't match the style. some of the animations feel a bit awkward and the lack of sound fx make the movements feel a bit empty. It's difficult to anticipate the fast enemies when you can't see them coming. i think a post jam version of this would be awesome, as you have a nice style and mood going on. would be great to see more. |
| Apr 24 10:40:50 | 7m 38s | My Friend Phil | ♥ 1 | I really like the visuals of the game. the big thing for me that lets it down is the controls. its very difficult to control where you land when jumping, and when you need more precise movements on the ground, you can't because its either standing or sprinting. being able to move so fast is great at times, but it should be an option, like in most games where you hold down shift or something. i like the idea of having to revisit the water to keep the fish alive. music is cool, but the sound fx dont really fit in. the respawning one sounds particularly dissonant. i find that it takes a bit too long to respawn as well. in a post jam version, i would add a few warmup stages to allow players to get used to controls etc, maybe even without enemies. looking forward to seeing what you come up with. |
| Apr 24 10:48:21 | 7m 31s | Hostage Escape | ♥ 0 | nice. took me a couple of tries to realise what i had to do. the artwork is nice. as i can see in your above comments, theres plenty of room to expand in a post jam version, so i look forward to seeing it! |
| Apr 24 15:38:57 | 4h 50m | The Birb | ♥ 2 | the art is really nice. keeping the music minimal actually works really well here, despite what some are saying. for this kind of style, sound design is everything, so adding some really well produced sounds later on will work wonders, without that, it's very difficult to create that mood that you're looking for. what you have is a great start, however.. there are some issues with jumping, as it felt that occasionally it was difficult to land close to the edge of a platform? it's also kinda difficult to distinguish what is a platform and what is backdrop. it's frustrating having invisible walls preventing you from exploring further, but i suppose that allows room for expansion later on? the character looks really cool, but I wonder if something could be done with his colouring to make him fit the palette a little better? maybe a light grey outline? a double jumping animation would've been really nice so much potential for this though, looking forward to see what comes next! |
| Apr 25 11:55:26 | 20h 16m | The Last Guardian | ♥ 2 | looking good. I like the music and choice of instruments. It took a while to figure out what we're meant to do, so a tutorial stage might be nice to include. some of the movements could so with some extra animations, particularly walking in different directions, and maybe a few enemy designs but for what you have created in such a short time it's difficult to fault! good work. |
| Apr 25 12:11:43 | 16m 17s | Wayward | ♥ 4 | very nice! it reminds me of journey and rez which I love! the concept is pretty unique which is good to see and i really dig the artistic approach you're going for. the music adds a lot to the atmosphere but i felt that a few of the transitions could have been handled better? some of them feel very abrupt. some of the fx take away from the mood as well, particularly the orbs that you right click on. would love to see what you add to this post-jam, theres lots of potential here. |
| Apr 25 16:19:12 | 4h 07m | Flippy Fish | ♥ 2 | I love the animations! graphics look sweet and art is cute despite being quite brutal! nice polish all round, would be nice to see more content in a post jam version. |
| Apr 26 14:55:57 | 22h 36m | Keep Pit Alive! | ♥ 2 | nice artwork. the music gets a bit repetitive and there are some issues with the track coming out of the right channel only when you lose, so i actually found it better playing without sound. I like that there are multiple paths to choose from, some trickier than others. it would be better to help players identify which paths lead to death, because at the moment they look the same, and its frustrating having to restart because of that. My favourite part of this game was the horse himself! i really like the animations and would be great to see what he gets up to in a post-jam version! |
| Apr 26 15:35:14 | 39m 17s | Final Flower: Petals of a Lost Age | ♥ 2 | i really like the mechanics, very original idea. it certainly requires an element of skill, having to throw the capsule away and hope to catch it again. some of the art is nice, like the backdrop, but it would be nice to see more variation with the platforms etc, maybe in a post jam version? the audio and colour palette complement each other to create a nice mood. |
| Apr 28 21:15:25 | 53h 40m | Mount Ookie | ♥ 2 | Awesome game! the feel of the jumping is a bit too much for me, i felt at times I wasn't in control of the character. I love the art and the overall aesthetic, even more so that it reminds me of shadow of the colossus! I would turn the sound fx down significantly though. I would totally play games like this outside of the jam, but there would need to be a lot more content, but this is such a good start I'd hate to see it not pursued further! I would say completely forget the 'keep it alive' theme, and turn this into an epic story of a warrior and his over-sized companion setting out for an epic adventure! |
| Apr 30 16:49:57 | 43h 34m | Save the FOX! | ♥ 2 | The environment graphics are really nice! Sets the mood well. I feel that the movement animations could use some tweaking, particularly jumping and shooting. The jumps are a little high and difficult to land consistently, and to me it feels that the jumping is far too fast. The shooting is also too slow! Maybe intensify the music a bit more if you keep going with the battle waves idea. to me it seems that with the ambience you're setting up, you would be better geared for an adventure game. Great work all round. |
| May 5 10:38:06 | 113h 48m | Keep What Alive | ♥ 3 | The graphics are cute. I liked the scrolling text effect as well. A few things I noticed while playing.... Variety needed in the music as well as some further mixing with the synths, there is a hissing sound in the home music which is a little overbearing with headphones, and maybe balance the parts a little better. I felt that giving clearer instructions as to the objectives would have been nice, knowing what we could interact with etc. Invisible walls are very frustrating. Why not create a physical obstacle to help guide players? I noticed some grammatical errors in the text... "you has been infected" for example... I don't think the pandemic theme is a particularly good choice, considering that many people who might be participating in this jam could be affected by the current climate, as some have mentioned above. this will discourage some people, including myself, from playing it, those of us who don't want to be reminded about it. It's good that you've come up with multiple endings and a story of sorts, but the character doesn't really react to anything. Good effort getting this together in a short amount of time. |
