May 1 19:26:52 Zoltan's Idea ♥ 3 Very nice minigames! I like that the gameplay is very versatile. The graphics and animations are really funny, good job!
May 1 19:46:30 19m 38s p-p-p-Pew ♥ 1 I was really impressed by the feel of the movement. The acceleration and damping felt super smooth. The movement made the game fun to play. The only one tiny nitpick i have, would be the sound that plays when you start the game. It was a bit to loud, compared to the rest of the audio. Other than that: Nice entry!
May 1 20:16:24 29m 54s Dear Substance of Kin ♥ 1 Wow, the art and storytelling of this game are amazing! Story, art, animations, theme and sound are perfectely put together. i've never played a LD-game with such a rich atmosphere.
May 1 20:37:01 20m 37s Crusader ♥ 0 Had a fun time playing your game. Very addictive gameplay. I really got into 2048 back in the day, so I really like the idea of building on this concept and developing it further. Good job! Unbenannt.png
May 1 20:48:23 11m 22s Grim ♥ 1 The gameplay was a lot of fun. The upgrade system is really nice. I like that it is very versatile and there is enough to upgrade through the course of the game. This keeps the player engaged (Well, me anyways :D). Very nice entry, good job!
May 1 20:58:13 9m 50s Beyond the Slot ♥ 3 Very funny premise, it was fun to play. It would be nice though, if you would get some visual feedback when you get hit apart from losing coins. Other than that, solid entry!
May 1 21:10:01 11m 48s Elevator Pitch ♥ 1 The physics were really impressive. Espacally the Lamp movement at the boss level! The throwing mechanic works really well, It took me some time to kill the boss, but i had fun dooing it! :)
May 2 18:38:50 21h 28m SpaceChips ♥ 1 I have to admit, the mousecontrols were a bit hard to get used to, but once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed them very much. With the Mouse input, you can control the speed really nicely. I think the upgrade system is really nice, but I had difficulties reading it while playing. Once I figured out that I can pause the game anytime, I changed my strategy. I waited until I had 100 Gold, pressed escape and had all the time in the world to read through the upgrades. With this strategy I got really far and had a lot of fun with the game! Nice one!
May 2 18:56:39 17m 49s Grand Theft Life ♥ 1 That was a depressingly accurate take on the theme, very nice. Of course I knew that my life would be dedicated to engineering those cat girls. So I became a businessman, rented out all the houses to get my science degree and gave humanity the next step in its evolution. Stealing peoples lives didn't turn out that well for me though, still I would do it all over again! :D I really enjoyed all those tiny details you build into the game with the mechanics and the text. The graphics, with all the little animations was really charming. The sound and music fit very well into the game. very impressive entry and best take on the theme i've seen so far! Nice job
May 2 19:20:10 23m 31s The Coin's Unexpected Adventure ♥ 2 That was a really nice and calming experience. Good job! Normally i dont like archievements, but in this case you've found a really nice way to implement it. It reminded me a bit of super mario 64, where you allways ended the level with getting the star. I really liked that. And I almost got all the achievments, but unfortunately I ran into a few issues with the colliders. Sometimes I got stuck under the cardboard, but I could get out of those. But the thing that broke the game for me was the collider under one of the holes in the golf course. I fell into it and couldn't get out. Sadly, there is no way to reset the level. If you had that option, it wouldn't have been an issue. Unbenannt.png Other than that, really nice work, especially on the game design part! The graphics look really nice and clean and the sound is not too intrusive.
May 2 19:32:04 11m 54s Pay with your life! ♥ 0 That was quite interesting! I had a lot of fun trying out different builds, my sweetspot was firerate 10, damage 30 and 10 speed. Dying doesn't get frustrating, because you can directely restart the game and try a different build. Extra points in humor for that "M" key. :D The only thing that confused me, was that the enemies didn't really die. And after i "killed" them in the second wave, they still harmed me. Other than that. The game looks really promising to me. Good job!
May 2 19:43:59 11m 55s Microtransaction Mages ♥ 1 That was a really nice experience! After dying the first time, the game reveilt more and more from its complexity. The story elements really got me. There was laughter when I noticed that I can actually work in order to buy upgrades and sadness, when the story reveilt more and more from its core. A really nice designed smooth curve in the story and the gameplay. The art and music are awesome too! All in all, very nice entry, especially for compo!
May 2 20:01:19 17m 20s Gore ♥ 1 Hey, a fellow gamejolt developer! That is a really solid and fun game. The concept works great, and the gameplay plays well into it. I was really impressed by the lighting, it gave the game a great mood. Together with the drums in the background, it was quite athmospheric. Since the backtracking to save the NPCs is a big part of the gameplay, I think a higher movespeed would be a really nice addition (maybe I'm just a little bit impatient). Nonetheless I got to the end and found it refreshing to have that kind of twist in the end. :D Great job!
May 2 20:11:12 9m 53s Placeholder_Game_1 ♥ 1 The power of Christ compells you!! To be honest: I didn't really understood what was going on. After a few tries I managed to live a bit longer by clicking on the ornage boxes, but the red boxes keep stealing all my grey boxes from my blue box and sooner than later God came down and punished me accordingly.. with His finger. It was a harsh but just punishment, Amen! :D I also tried the better version with graphics, but I only found a .yyz gamemaker file. Really fun entry nonetheless. Extra point in Humor for the description! ^^
May 2 20:34:22 23m 10s Self Surgeon ♥ 0 Thats a super fun game! I really like the concept and execution of this one. The playable tutorial is great! The sound effects and graphics fit quite well and progression between the levels (with the money you make) kept me engaged. Nice entry, good job!
May 3 18:18:55 21h 44m The 7 Cents Deal ♥ 2 Lovely artstyle. It fits very well together with the music and the the overall mood of the game. The polishing is really nice, the different screens and transistions feel really good. The idea is also very interesting. Nicely done!
May 3 18:34:56 16m 01s Blood Money ♥ 2 Nice game! The FPS-gameplay feels really solid. Its a lot of fun just to run around and shoot skeletons! The procedually generated levels are very impressive for a Ludum Dare. Their only downside is, that you sometimes need a little bit of searching to find all the enemies. I had tons of fun until level 5, where I searched for a few minutes to find the last enemy. Besides that: the gameplay is solid, and the art and music give a really nice touch to the overall mood. Nicely done!
May 3 18:45:29 10m 33s Dungeon Sweeper ♥ 1 I think the concept is really nice. Its a good way to bring more player motivation to a classic minesweeper experience, through the levels of the dungeon. My problem was, that I couldn't go deeper through the door. I tried it many times, but didn't understand what had to be done. Do you need a key or something, or do I just dont know the rules for minesweeper? :D Anyway: Great concept! Really like it.
May 3 18:55:29 10m 00s The Alchemist ♥ 1 You Won!! It took me a few times, but once i understood the mechanics, it was really fun. I mainly spamed the hard attack and that worked really well in the end. I like the concept, and the feel of the gameplay. The only minor thing that i didn't understand at the beginning was the behaviour of the colliders. But once I understood that I cant walk in the hands at any time, it was a nice experience. The Boss behavoir is nicely programmend and feels really good. Good work!
May 3 19:08:08 12m 39s BloedBad ♥ 2 Very nice pixel platformer! I really dig the artstyle and the mood of this game. It fits the theme quite well. I think its nice that there are multiple weapons, which change the gameplay quite dramatically. That gives a really nice feeling of progression. The only problem for me, was that the enemycount gets really big after some deaths. At the end it was nearly impossible for me to get past them all. Besides that, very solid entry, nice work!
May 3 19:23:01 14m 53s This Game Sucks ♥ 1 You Escaped! Very weird, but interesting game. The concept of sucking life and paying with your own life fits the theme quite well. I like the tutorials very much. Its nice if you dont need to read through descriptions to learn tha basics of a game, but rather give the information in small dosis, right when you need them. The enemy behavoir feels really good and the movement is nicely coded. A little bit of polishing regarding the art and music wouldn't hurt. but for compo, its absolutely fine. Good job!
May 3 19:37:06 14m 05s Deadly Dungeon ♥ 1 The demon was wrong! I actually made it through the end. So he shall never be bored again. :D Well, that was a really nice, detailed and versatile game. The random walking mechanic with cards is very interesting and I love the minigames. The boss at the end is nicely done and gives me the feeling of playing a finished and completed game. Thats very impressive, great work!
May 3 19:46:24 9m 18s Sick Business ♥ 2 Very impressive level of detail! I allways love it when games have that amount of content. The minigames are a lot of fun and very versatile. The story ties everything together really nicely and really nails the theme. Very impressive work. Good job!
May 3 20:14:16 27m 52s Memories of a Captain ♥ 1 Nice story, especially when you consider that you were just using text to convey it. Was quite fun to play, but I struggled on the last part (your difficulty curve is quite steep :D) I made it on the 10th try, but then I think I got killed by a small asteroid, right when I was about to upload the thing. That was a bit frustrating, but still, I liked the mechanics very much. I think you nailed the experience of flying through an asteroid field quite well! Overall very nice atmosphere, design and great take on the theme. nice work!
May 3 20:29:26 15m 10s Busy Hell Tycoon ♥ 2 Really nice and interesting concept! I played untill level 22, but it seems i didn't got a rank on the leaderboard. ^^ The theme fits quite well with the game and the concept. The art is very nice to look at. I really like the UI-design in particular. The Menu and pause screen look very nice. All in all, very nice entry. Good job on that!
May 3 20:39:10 9m 44s Band of Brothers ♥ 1 Very nice concept! It fits the theme quite well and the overall polishing of this game is great! I love the artwork and especially the Music. I think will have that song stuck in my head for a while! :D The dialogues are nicely written and the game is very well put together overall. The only thing I didn't really get was the game over condition, but I surely will give it another try in the future. Great work!
May 3 20:57:44 18m 34s Once Upon A Plague ♥ 1 Nice to find you again this Ludum Dare! That was a pretty nice experience! This game is very well put together. The concept is great and fits really nicely into the theme, the artstyle (especially with all the different enemies) is amazing and makes for a unique and great athmosphere. The upgrade system was one of my favorite aspects, because the descicions made there, were very meaningful. I nearly made it through the 5th day, but the amount of enemies was too much to handle for me at this moment. All in all: Great job!
May 5 22:10:41 49h 12m GTApp - Great Tube App ♥ 1 Fun game. I love the GTAII feel of it. The controls feel smooth and add a lot to the feel of the game. I Really like the Tutorial at the beginning! You can read it and get used to the gameplay, or you can just drive past it. Projecting the theme onto influencer culture was a pretty smart idea. Great work!
May 5 22:29:16 18m 35s Tree of Life ♥ 2 First tower defense game I played this Ludum Dare and I really enjoyed it! The variety in weapons and enemies was impressive, especially with all the cute animations. ^^ The mechanic of adding remaining lifeforce to the max lifeforce was intriguing. I tried it multiply times, but couldn't make it past the wave where the third rock gets opened. Despite my lack of skill, I very much enjoyed this entry. Nice work!
May 5 22:44:18 15m 02s Atria ♥ 1 First of all: The concept art looks really amazing. I couldn't really get used to the gameplay to be honest. I tried multiple approaches and the shield + sword was the best one for me. Without the shield it felt like it was impossible to dodge the incoming attacks, because the enemies have a very short windup animation. So it was quite challenging, but still very entertaining gameplay. The concept behind this fits very well into the theme. Nice one!
May 6 18:45:54 20h 01m GEMiNiD S484 ♥ 2 Once I've found my second gamepad and a pair of working batteries, we had a lot of fun! My girlfriend (now ex girlfriend :D) totally destroyed me 10/4! We invented our own playmode. We gave ourselves 10 min. to upgrade everything we could and than it was on! We were totally surprised by the gravity mechanics and the way you've designed the level accordingly. The music and graphics fit together with the gameplay. Great job! It's quite risky to make a couch-coop game for Ludum Dare, but for us dedicated couch-coop aficionados, it's just great! Of course with two people playing it's not quite as fun, as with four I'd imagine. But we'll definitely try it out with some friends again in the future! Thank you very much for making it!
May 6 19:23:47 37m 53s SHELTER ♥ 2 Great to see you folks again, for another Ludum Dare! That was an amazing and athmospheric experience. Some moments really gave me goosebumps. :D Had a nice Amnesia/Penumbra vibe to it. The ending was very effective! You managed to give a good characterization of your protagonists in that short time. The voice acting was was spot on and the music, sfx and graphics fit really well in the horror genre. The only problem I encountered was the flashlight position and that multiple voices were sometimes playing at the same time. Maybe I played too fast. :D Nevertheless, great job!
May 6 20:31:36 1h 07m invertebrae ♥ 2 Fantastic game! The level of depth is amazing! The story is engaging and really well written. It keept me going for half an hour and I'm still not sure if I've found all the endings. You only had text, but you still managed to pull of a very atmospheric and consistent design with that. The music lend it itself quite nicely to the atmosphere of the game. The mechanics made the whole experience much more interactive than a standard text adventure. Amazing job! Also, pet bonus :D ! There is only one tiny little issue I have with your game: Why is THIS not a valid input? Anmerkung 2019-05-06 221901.png
May 6 20:56:20 24m 44s Survive the Heist ♥ 1 Nice entry! Very nice that there are multiple outcomes! The graphics and the music carry the athmosphere of the game quite effectively. The dialogues are well written and gave the characters a nice depth! The bank director had a cool noire, detective style to him. Really great work, espeacially when you consider your limited timeframe!
May 6 21:12:04 15m 44s Inflate Me to the Moon ♥ 1 I am so confused... and yet so very intrigued! Sometimes you experience something that is so utterly incomprehensible and still, you just know it makes sense on every level. You managed to pull off a hilarious and very entertaining game here. Very nice! The music, sounds and art style fit together really well. The voice acting was great and oh my, the story! I don't even know what to say about that, except, hats off to you! Great entry, thank you very much for making it :D
May 6 21:23:39 11m 35s Immortal's game ♥ 0 Brilliant game! When this friendly looking fella started with the sentence "lorem ipsum", I thought "Oh boy, another unfinished game here", but you got me, you got me gooood! :D Listening to that story was hilarious, but to have to player die from it was genious! 5/5 in Humor, just for that one! Once I saw that, I wanted to find every possible death in the game. Concerning the theme, you hit it square on the money! Really really nice entry! Hats off to you!
May 6 21:41:19 17m 40s Lifeless ♥ 2 One of the most innovative games I've player this Ludum Dare. Everything was unexpected and well designed. The take on the theme is very fitting, especially when you consider, that there are a lot of games out there, especially in the smartphone markets, that just feel like they are robbing you of your time. Very clever commentary on the whole subject! Nice one!
May 8 18:30:26 44h 49m Knit Worth ♥ 3 Ah yes, the old "lobotomize your grandma to get your inheritance" scheme.. Haven't we all been there? Aside from casually admitting to a felony, here are our two cents on it: We had a lot of fun playing the game. Tried it multiply times, but without coming anywhere close to your highscore. The intro cutscene is spectacular and could be right out of a Rick and Morty episode. The gameplay is fun, the visuals are great and the audio ties everything together nicely! Great job!
May 8 18:44:10 13m 44s Ballhogs ♥ 1 Reminds me of an old basketball game I used to play at my grandmas house, when I was a little kid. To be honest, it took some time to figure out what to I had to do. At first, I tought that I can't do anything at all, until I understood, that the player character is down right at the bottom. Once I understood that, I reloaded the game and had a lot of fun. I'm impressed by the AI, I did one for our last LD entry and I never want to do it again! :D Nice job!
May 8 19:02:43 18m 33s Contract Cleric ♥ 1 I'm a big fan of the classic "cooldown management" games and to be just the healer of the party is a nice concept! After a few tries and after reading the instructions more thoroughly, I managed to survive a bit longer. Two upgrades from the church later, my allies still were overrun by enemies. I dont know if I'm just really bad at this game, or if its difficulty curve is a little bit too steep. Still making such a game in 48 hours, while trying to balance it correctly is really impressive. Nice job!
May 8 19:33:25 30m 42s Life Of Erdanon ♥ 1 Nice! One of the first platformer games I've seen this Ludum Dare. Really glad, I've found it. It' a really great game! I love the concept behind it. It's one of the most innovative platformer games I've seen on a Ludum Dare. Besides the gameplay, I actually really enjoyed the artstyle. The walking and dying animations are hilarious and it's one of the first games that has a walking sound, that is not annoying. The sound effects fit the style well and the cutscenes are really funny. Extra points in humor for that cry button at the end! The only minor thing that could use a bit of polishing, is the jumping mechanic. Sometimes I thought that I've jumped, but sadly I was walking from an edge in the same frame. A simple timer which allows the player to jump maybe for 0.1 seconds after walking from a ledge, would work wonders. I had the exact same problem with our game and just finished implementing this simple timer in our postjam version. If I had thought about that for the Jam version, people would've enjoyed our gameplay much more. All in all: Very nicely done! Innovative platformer with a lot of potential!
May 8 20:01:44 28m 19s Alistair's Crypt ♥ 1 Nice bullethell game! I like the concept of an arena fight in which you can upgrade your abilities in between the fights. My big problem was that I couldn't actually buy upgrades at all. I tried several times with different keys. So I just tried to live as long as possible without upgrading. Which went not too well for me. My highscore is 4 waves. :) Did i miss something, or is this function not in the game yet? In any case: I would gladly give it another try, if you could tell me how to play it properly. :D Anyways, nice concept and the bullethell mechanic is nicely implemented. Great job!
May 8 20:34:56 33m 12s Cold Dream ♥ 1 Really interesting and innovative game! I died multiple times in chapter 3 and didn't manage to finish the game yet. Still, the gameplay is very intriguing! The randomness doesn't feel like it is unfair at any time during the game. The only thing that got me killed several times, was the fire event. Especially when it occurs multiple times in a row. The design is very clean and visually pleasing, the music is subtle, yet very enjoyable! Overall, everything fits very well together in your nice concept! Well done!
May 8 21:00:32 25m 36s Heart To The Sky ♥ 1 The first few steps were really hard, but once I figured out that I could walk down a step without stairs, I managed to do it. It was a really nice feeling standing on top of that thing. Well done! The camera animation is great, especially with the intro screen to gameplay transition. The core gameplay is quite simple, yet I've never seen something like it before. It's one of those simple but very effective designs. The graphical design was also very pleasing, but the lighting situation could've been better in my opinion. Especially at the top. I couldn't see the stairs and had to guess where they were. I really enjoyed what you did with the music transition in higher areas. All in all: Very nice game, with a lot of potential. Great job!
May 8 21:26:06 25m 34s Sacrifice ♥ 1 Nice take on the theme. Giving the player the choice of balancing the game by sacrificing your own health for power-ups. It was really satisfying to feel the difference in power after you harvested a certain amount of enemies. I had to get used to the enemy hitboxes and animation scheme but once I mastered the stutter stepping and luring the enemies in my favour, I had a lot of fun progressing through the game. Soundeffects, artstyle and music matched up quite nicely. Nice job!
May 8 21:45:30 19m 24s Tecuhtliztacuhxochitl's Sacrifice Simulator ♥ 1 Once I understood the mechanics I got really far but after 10 minutes, the drought killed 5 out of my 7 people. I like the concept and the depth of the game. To have a profession system and so many attributes for the people is quite impressive. Great job on that!
May 9 17:24:28 19h 38m LAZERBOI ♥ 1 Hey, great to see you guys again! We participated both in the beansjam a few years ago. We had a lot of fun playing your game! The movement and shooting feels really tight. The concept fits the theme quite well and the graphics and shaders look very nice! It's a bit hard though. The big spiders seem to never miss the target and it's not easy to dodge them. But after a few tries I got the hang of it and had a lot of fun. I love the upgrade system. All in all: Great job!
May 10 19:37:47 26h 13m Scarf Scarf ♥ 1 Wow, very weird but also very cool artstyle. I wonder how you made that. The gameplay was fun. I think it would be even better if there would be a counter or something to know how many waves the played has survived. Or maybe change the colors everytime a wave is cleared. I played two times and the two big cubes allways got me. ^^ There is also a big variety of colors and enemies. Great job!
May 10 20:17:02 39m 15s Rat Lab ♥ 0 I had a lot of fun playing this! The artstyle fits really nice with the sounds. I escpecially like the retro vibe of the walk and hit animations. Hats off to you for implementing your own A* algorithm. I tried it too, a few years back in gamemaker and I know the struggle. :D I found the gameplay overall to be pretty neat and fun, but the balancing is a bit weird. After a few waves I got the lightning fists and with that I killed everything with one hit. I got to level 50 after killing everything in the first second and was unkillable at this point. The enemies wouldn't hurt me anymore. Maybe because of the shield upgrades. ^^ Anmerkung 2019-05-10 221410.png Anyhows, nice entry! With a bit of balancing it would be even more fun! PS: Nice Avatar! :)
