some low volume sfx when you dig square would make the game more enjoyable. If the level can generate closed empty sape you should heal one heart on each level to compensate on health you have to loose to progress.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → Dungeon Sweeper

This don't really get the theme idea, but I saw what you write at the top, so it's fair enough. The concept is really good, need to say that.
Theme is only one category, good on you for recognising that and making a cool game anyway, the theme is only a starting point.
I can honestly say i've never thought to throw dungeon crawling and minesweeper together, it's quirky and i like it.
It'd be nice if you could add flags to known spots and be able to block yourself from taking a spot you think is a bomb so you don't accidentally mine it. Spending a day doing an art pass on this could improve it immensely, i can see this becoming a £5 itch/stream title with the right work going into it: level diversity, audio design, powerups (as an abstract term) and some swanky graphics.
Don't drop this project, iterate and see where it goes first!
The game idea is interesting and good. The graphics is nothing really special, but it is okay. The sound effects is not great, but for a game jam it is kinda working. The gameplay is good, but somehow it fields like something is missing. Overall a okay LD.
Sad that you hadn't your theme for this ludum. I thought it was fun to play minesweeper this way :)
Even if I thought that randomly place the end of each level or wait that you have finish the level was pretty clumsy. Each time I find the exit, I was like "Ok I can go next floor" but nop.
But overall it was fun to play :)
I liked the idea and I think you did the right thing in making a game even if it doesn't fit the theme!
Very nice entry, even if it doesn't fit the chosen theme
I personally suck at minesweeper so I didn't make it very far. The game could have some more RPG elements if you wanted to go farther down that path and some more visional polish, but for a game made in a weekend, I think you a great job!
I enjoyed this game! Having to move yourself around was engaging compared to normal Minesweeper. I like that you start with extra hearts so that one misstep doesn't kill you. I think it fits with the theme somewhat because if you're stuck, you can trade a heart in for a "hint" (by guessing and seeing if you get blown up.) I agree with the others that I'd like to be able to flag bombs so that there's less mental energy expended remembering which ones I think are bombs.
I think the concept is really nice. Its a good way to bring more player motivation to a classic minesweeper experience, through the levels of the dungeon. My problem was, that I couldn't go deeper through the door. I tried it many times, but didn't understand what had to be done. Do you need a key or something, or do I just dont know the rules for minesweeper? :D Anyway: Great concept! Really like it.
Great idea, which fit really well for the classic game theme, I'm glad you decided to work on it anyway. It's good to play minesweeper with three extra lives.
It would be nice to see some loot to collect in the dungeon, or some monsters to to fight. It could be a good idea to have different layers of minesweeper "hints" point to different things in the dungeon.
