I appreciate how the disappearing platforms work, it makes you want to stop and think about what's happening but also you can't stay on one platform forever! I wonder if it would've been even better if the levels were a little easier at first because even though I liked the way the platforms/colors worked I still ended up just panicking and racing for the end a lot of times haha. Overall the game was very memorable and unique and I'm glad I got to play :)
@jamie-reed hmm we did have more than three levels -- thanks for pointing that out, we'll look into what happened!
@thesomeonexd thanks for the feedback! :) yeah it is pretty forgiving, but you can choose to challenge yourself to get a perfect score (not missing any squigynns) before moving on!
We fixed it so you can move on to our other levels now! Thanks again @jamie-reed for the heads up :)
@crazym that was so great :')
Really really love the art and the effects on the text were very effective haha. I feel like I'd want to play more of these short levels and get to see different rooms with different color schemes and designs, they're so pretty! Glad I got to play :)
I watched the promo vid (don't have Windows to download the game) and it feels super sophisticated and clean, an interesting contrast to the playful weird vibes that a lot of game jam entries seem to have! A unique and strong mood :)
The music was so good! I loved their faces too. I had a hard time saving Paul once the little like tomato kids and mom got in because even though I was hitting it his top left pressure point wouldn't go away :/ Really enjoyed it anyway and am glad I got to play :)
I liked how the grappling hook worked, and the colors were pretty and made a good mood :) I was a little confused about whether I could do anything to postpone getting flooded off screen since it happened so quickly. I also wasn't sure about the blocks -- maybe it would be better if we had more time to try interacting with things? (If I just missed something and that would go against the point of the game, I'm sorry!) Overall I think you made something really memorable and am glad I got to play :)
Wow, the art is so gooood! How much time did this take you?? I love how stylized everything was and the lighting made it feel very polished. Also I appreciated the slight variations in the guests' designs. It seemed like the guests moved in interesting ways too, reacting to things and not just randomly wandering around. Ahh so amazing haha! :) I kind of wish I had a better idea of where the trash chutes were, I think there was one that was hard to see and I accidentally found it by walking into it while holding a guest's body :0 maybe if there was a key I could hold down to show some visuals for where the chutes are? Anyway, aghhh this game feels so fleshed out and looks amazing, really glad I found it and hope you get more ratings!!
I really like your title, it added a lot to the overall experience haha! I thought the levels and art were simple but in an appealing way that felt complete and I enjoyed playing :)
I love how the alchemist pops out from behind the wall plus you zoom in on him -- really effective and funny :) Just to give you feedback, I had problems with not being able to move the potion once I grabbed it (guess I caught it too soon) and sometimes when I let go they went back up the chute haha. Overall I think it's a really memorable fun experience and im glad I got to play!
I like that the objects came in all sizes, the first thing that fell down on me was a tiny tiny clock and it was adorable haha. The blob character is really appealing and has nice squash and stretch :) I think hand-drawn stuff like this is super cool and am glad I came across this, thanks for making it!
I really love the art, from the design of the character to the colors! I would be very interested in seeing more of this world. The speed of the letters getting typed on screen also worked really well. One small thing I noticed was that you run into trees even when you're supposed to be walking behind them (so like at the top of the trees) -- I think you might want the collider to only be at the base of the tree, and there's a setting in Unity that automatically sets stuff "in front" of others based on their position in the Y direction. I don't know if that's something you just chose to not prioritize in this jam, it's definitely not a big deal. Overall it was definitely an impressive experience with a very strong mood. :)
@tontonpizza Edit > File Settings > Graphics > Transparency Sort Axis > set it to X=0 Y=1 Z=0 to make Y the background :)
I like the music and the start screen is really nice! I kind of felt like the character moved too fast, which I guess is strange since that would be helpful to me in the game. I think I was generally a little frustrated that I couldn't control the character very well, but maybe that's just me being bad at playing haha. I think overall you accomplished so much and the game works very well with the theme!
The art is so unique! :D I really like the design of the main character especially, and I think the sounds you used added a lot to the experience. I had fun playing and would be so interested in seeing this with even more animations. Your team pic is awesome too by the way :)
I really appreciate that the player movement is smooth and a good speed! It felt pretty satisfying to run around and automatically pick up slime :) I feel like I wasn't extremely motivated to keep playing after a few runs because I felt like I was kind of doing the same thing -- I guess @cranestyle already addressed this! Overall it was very fun, glad I got to play :)
Super impressive that you did everything from programming to art to music -- everything works together really well! Clear, unique, and well-executed idea ^-^
I like the simplicity, it's very stylish :) I was not able to last long even on easy though, it felt impossible to move away from obstacles fast enough -- but that's probably just me haha. I think I might enjoy playing a version where I do have the speed to avoid obstacles, it's more a matter of steering and harnessing the speed. Again, not sure if this is the case for others. Nice game overall :)
I really loved the art/animation and sound for this game, it was SO satisfying and poppy. The animation for climbing up stairs was especially cute :) I would have enjoyed it more if it was clearer what to do when I couldn't reach higher levels -- I wanted to do something with the boxes on the first/ground level but wasn't sure how to interact with them (or know when I successfully interacted with them). The game feels nice though, thanks for making it!
This felt like a very solid game, nothing stood out as annoying and I appreciate that the controls were very clear and simple. I didn't get too far because I was too impatient to wait for the lily pads but I thought the levels were well made! The frog is adorable and I like the music too. Very cool :)
I also could not get it to load :(
Umm.. excuse me? This game is SO GOOD. My favorite LD49 submission so far. It is very satisfying to play and I really love that it doesn't yell at you for anything. Everything works like a dream and it's so well executed. I will actually replay this for a while. You have blessed us with this little game <3
The jealous dog idea is very cute! Also the art is so nice and it's such a wholesome game. I think the movement could be a little more controlled, sometimes it felt tedious to not be able to push animals even though I felt like I was coming at it straight on -- but maybe that's just a characteristic of the gameplay! I really like this overall :)
Heads up that I couldn't get it to load in browser for some reason (just got the initial Unity loading screen forever)... but the art looks fantastic and the game sounds very original and complex. I'll check back later to see if it loads!
The voiceover tutorial/hints is a really cool idea! The shooting and movements were satisfying and the game was not frustrating -- overall it was fun, super well-rounded and memorable :) noice
The vision... the vibes... I'm shaking. I really wish this game had a clearer in-game tutorial/hints so I could figure out how to play, but considering the limited time spent on it, I'm not mad! Overall I don't feel like I understood the game super well but I really liked it anyway. :)
Really simple, but really fun and well executed and looks so pretty! Everything works together so well and I love that the game is pretty endlessly fun as long as I keep pushing myself to search for better words. It was a little frustrating that it somewhat frequently rejected words that definitely are words but I guess weren't in the dictionary you used (especially because I had to use the left arrow key to get rid of the word afterwards agh haha) but that's not a big deal really. Overall I think it's pretty brilliant and I love the visuals and audio so much :)
The art is really nice :) A small suggestion in case you continue to work on this -- maybe add some sort of feedback when the player earns certain amounts of money? I enjoyed playing but I think I might feel more accomplished and motivated if there was more feedback throughout. But I liked it a lot overall, and it feels very different from most other submissions so I'm glad I got to play this :)
First of all, your cover image was really eye-catching and pretty! I liked the humor and the visuals/audio suited it too. I didn't get super into playing the game because the controls felt a little awkward (like P and O) but I'm not sure if that's just me. Overall I think every part of it came together as a cohesive whole and it's a simple but attractive and funny game -- glad I tried it :)
Super fun -- I would keep playing this over and over again. The music added so much to the humor too! I'm not sure that this really is part walking simulator though, I don't think the walking alone makes it a walking simulator. I appreciated the comments the npcs made though, and if there were a lot more people to race I think I'd be playing this all the time :) super awesome overall and I'm really glad I got to play it!
I didn't get to actually play it since I don't have a PC, but it looks really great -- the animations are very satisfying to look at and the colors are nice :)
@obachuka Thank you! :) Hm, I got stuck in a corner for a while and the movement felt a little fast to me, but I guess that adds to the excitement of the game too in a way. I got pretty into the game and really freaked out when the wolf came after my sheep haha! I really like it overall, glad I got to try :)
I didn't actually get to play the game since I don't have a PC. But the cover image was so intriguing I had to watch the demo, which in turn was so cute I had to give good ratings anyway :) The whole texting thing makes me so happy and the main character's design and animation is so perfect! It seems like a really well-made game for a jam and I wish I could've actually played it.
