Cute, the game, art, and music are all very fitting.
one of the most unusual game concepts ive seen, great job
I loved the music and the dialogue! My only complaint is that I want more game to play!!
Nailed the theme and the aesthetic is great too, could be a little longer and have some sort of hint on what tiles are good to walk on. Lots of fun!
Everything fits together well and the movement controls work well. At first I didn't understand that there were certain steps that had to be made and that you couldn't just run straight for the door... lol..but all in all a good "little" game....Good Job!!
its confusing. "start to flood if you take a wrong step". Is it just random or is there a logic behind this. Because well, it floods if i take a wrong step but I HAVE to make it flood in order to reach the door
They're right about the colour scheme tbh. Great music and really fun concept! I wanna try more Bitsy stuff now...
Great game, very well put together! I do wish the you could start again more quickly after death though.
Cool to see a Bitsy game in the jam! Nice graphics and nice interface with the text windows etc. Also guessing the portrait of Poseidon must have taken a while! Well done!
Great music and dialogue! And cute graphics, plus portrait in the end.
It was hard to see when I took the right steps but that was probably the point.
Really really love the art and the effects on the text were very effective haha. I feel like I'd want to play more of these short levels and get to see different rooms with different color schemes and designs, they're so pretty! Glad I got to play :)
The art and sound are excellent and very fitting. I won on maybe my third try, but it wasn't a very satisfying win, I think I just got lucky. It needs something more to it so there's an element of skill. But I mean, it was made in a weekend. And turned out super charming. Definitely more to like than to dislike here, nice job!
A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
Thanks for all the positive comments & helpful feedback everyone. I started out with a bigger idea & then broke it down to the basics. I'm planning on doing something more with this & include the feedback you've given. :)
Cute and charming game! The dialogue was adorable and funny and a solid use of the theme. I was a bit confused as to what causes the water to flood at different speeds. A bit of guess work involved but it was enjoyable. The music was very catchy too! Very cool!
I liked the comments! Won on my first try and didn't know why, then when I actually tried it was challenging lol!
Lovely little game :)
Obviously it's guesswork all the way, but on the other hand it's over soon. Too short ;)
Strange game. Would be a very interesting game if this concept was applied as more of an adventure game as opposed to a guessing game.
I found a bug where you can just swim the sides of the temple and enter from the back. (Or maybe that was intentional)
I really like how this all fits together, the mechanics are really nice, along with the graphics and the music!
I was immediately impressed by the graphics style - they're *really* good, the colors are really easy on the eyes, and the sprites really remind of old Atari 2600 or 5200 games. The audio is also really good, a simple but effective song.
However, the game is crushingly short: a single straight room doesn't really allow the mechanics to shine, and it's a shame that you didn't get to explore more ideas. The main mechanic itself seems a bit RNG based at first, but due to how short the single room is, it allows the player to test things out and map out a safe path on their head. I wouldn't mind a few more rooms of it.
I like the old school arcadey look and sound. I just wish there was a bit more to the gameplay than trial and error.
nice short game! I also loved the colors in the game. I wasn't sure if there was always a correct path, or if it was random- but I was able to return the trident. Perhaps along the path there were clues or questions you had to answer? Anyway, keep up the good work!
Thanks all. :) I struggled with ideas on how to direct players through the route without making it easy. I'm going to expand on this original idea, as I've worked out how to do this now.
