LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Dante Slumbers by Jimbly 2020-10-07T04:19:24Z

Took me a while to figure out the controls, but definitely felt like I was getting better the more I played, which is a great accomplishment. It was particularly satisfying to come zooming down between a field of rocks and nail a ring perfectly! Great touch with Dante meowing in the background. Very nicely done!!

Puzzle Pong by darthone 2020-10-07T18:19:25Z

Clever puzzles, and lots of fun playing around with the looping physics world you've designed. Was very confused at the beginning about what the goal was: I tried to fit the block over the zebra-stripe in about 10 different ways before thinking to *not* do that. A game I can see myself coming back to play again later, so great job!

Nice integration of the theme into the "infinite runner". It's super-cool that you can see objects on the "inside" of the mobius strip before they flip around to the "outside". It'd be great to put more emphasis on that because it's such a nice visual ... but honestly my best thought along those lines was, "maybe a slightly different camera angle?" so no helpful suggestions on *how* to make it pop. Nice job!

Probably the best submission I've played so far. The concept, style, execution: all top-notch. The controls make perfect sense once you figure them out. Graphics and sound are great. Game is too short -- as always happens in 48hrs -- but that's in part a testament to how good it is. I want more! Excellent!

Troubleshooter: A Drag and Drop Adventure by Phlip45 2020-10-07T07:09:19Z

Very nicely done, amazing amount of polish for 48 hrs. Might separate out the commands (move, observe, etc.) from the items / cards (screwdriver, etc.), but a minor thing. Cool puzzle, interesting, well put together story, great voice acting ... enjoyed it a lot!

Cricetus Apparatus by Jima 2020-10-07T19:17:06Z

What a fun concept. Great graphics, amazing scope for a 48hr solo compo, nicely polished. Huge potential for future expansion, but pretty much perfect as-is. Fantastic job!

Tokamak: Fusion by Schuster 2020-10-07T00:50:56Z

Nice little jam game. Audio was great, and the graphics matched the concept really well. I wanted to be able to hold down the arrow keys to go spinning around faster, and I felt the particles were too random for me to develop a strategy to collect them, but overall a very solid effort. Good job!

Candyfactory by Rakowu 2020-10-07T17:55:58Z

Great graphics! I too found the controls challenging and the camera framing / clipping were issues, but that's going to be a challenge in any 3D game and 10x more so with limited time. Super ambitious for a solo 48hr project, amazing what you managed to implement. Nice!

Gunguin by TinySalad 2020-10-07T03:58:55Z

Impressively large level for a short jam. Really liked the variety of graphics for the cutsenes and different text / story prompts. The "bullets" are more like grenades -- they don't do any damage until they explode -- which is a cool twist. Controls were a little rough, but overall a well done, enjoyable effort!

Stuck in an inner tube! by UkuleleFury 2020-10-07T17:26:17Z

Props for "a tragic inner-tubing accident", lol! I thought the super-hoppy-jumpy physics was fun -- particularly getting extra height by bouncing off the walls -- but it felt just a tad too imprecise. Very good use of level progression, introducing new mechanics as the levels advance. Also, bonus for Godot! Well done.

Portal Pete: The night-time Sheep by Kazatan 2020-10-07T04:35:17Z

Wow, really clever idea, can see so much potential for more puzzles different objects, etc! At first I was just randomly trying things, but the more I played with it -- and reminded myself to focus on what I've got to work with and why those pieces are there -- I found it made a lot of sense. Like the 2D character interacting with a 3D world. Controls were a bit twitchy (maybe the objects needed to be a bit "heavier" so physics couldn't push them around so easily?) but overall a great entry!

Fun and funny use of the theme. I like the loading screen concept as a framework for the minigames. Amazing what you put together in only 13hrs, well done!

The Loop by TheVideoGamester 2020-10-07T00:42:51Z

One of the most solid entries I've played so far, has a "complete game" feel to it that often seems to be lacking in short jams. I recently upgraded my main screen to a 43" 4k monster, and when The Loop kicks into full screen, every pixel is about 1/2" square -- that's some *serious* pixel art!

Plane Loop by TORT60091 2020-10-07T05:05:46Z

The 3D was simple but effective, and the particle effects looked really nice. Got so off course on my first attempt I had to restart; once I got the hang of the controls, by my 5th-6th attempt I managed to land wheels down! Good job!

bloTT by MiniBetrayal 2020-10-07T16:53:22Z

Very clever concept, well executed. A couple times I thought I'd might be stuck because I'd broken the puzzle, but in every case I just hadn't figured it out. It must have been very difficult to get it balanced; well done! I'm a sucker for inverted physics so I thought that was very cool -- and an excellent use of both "sides" of the map -- but I wish the collision was a little more forgiving when jumping into tight spaces or sliding across narrow ones.

Snake Loops by Ividusk 2020-10-07T05:46:20Z

Graphics are really nicely done; great character! I'm with those who felt it's too slow even with shift, and I think I personally would have preferred designed levels rather than random layouts -- with smaller maps at the beginning, getting progressively more expansive. Great job for a 48hr devcycle though!

Slime Wrangler by Zackavelli 2020-10-07T05:32:56Z

Challenging puzzler, can see lots of potential here. Wish the loop completion was a little more forgiving: the snap region on closing the ends is really small, so about 75% of the time I either missed or broke the chain. Maybe it shouldn't count as a chain cross if you come in from the "outside" of the loop? Nice entry!

for egg in basket by indivicivet 2020-10-06T23:45:08Z

Perfect scope for a 48hr jam, manages to pack a lot of fun into a small space. One of the very rare jam type games that doesn't have the feeling, "ooh, with a little more time could have been so much better!" Very elegant solution for running out of certain egg colors. Excellent work!

Catch the Higgs boson by Obi One 2020-10-07T05:19:41Z

Nice use of the theme in the puzzle concept. Agree with others that it should be a bit larger (hard to click on the dots). I spent a while trying to decide if there's a rule for which way a particle is going to go at an intersection, and ... I think it's random? Would be great if different particles had a different "spin" -- pink ones go clockwise, yellow counter-clockwise -- so the player can develop a strategy on leaving a node open because the approaching particle is going to spin "in" rather than "out". Fun entry!

Human Generator by WTFree 2020-10-07T07:14:29Z

Lol, great use of the theme. Simple but hilarious, well done!
