Genius, pure genius!

karnak 2010-12-20 03:23

Amazing!

compositeredfox 2010-12-20 03:28

Your game is extremely cool.

alexlarioza 2010-12-20 03:47

I love it! Luuudummm

localcoder 2010-12-20 04:19

This is awesome. I never found out how to get the key...

ryan 2010-12-20 05:09

Nice game, that was cool!

stevejohnson 2010-12-20 06:25

Much love, friend, much love. Well conceived, well executed.

legacycrono 2010-12-20 07:01

Brilliant. I think we have a winner.

epskampie 2010-12-20 09:05

Very funny, and wonderful pixel art. I never got the key as well, since the things you can carry, you can't stand on.

increpare 2010-12-20 09:28

Hahaha, cool :)

korywazhere 2010-12-20 11:47

Could be the winner, this game is amazing =)

hellfang 2010-12-20 11:58

Really awesome! The art is great too

legacycrono 2010-12-20 12:07

I found a bug (maybe?). You can break the portal: just stand next to it and smash him for a while, it'll break and you won't be able to use it anymore, making you stuck at the cave. After breaking it once you're still able to completely destroy it, leaving just some particles behind. Kind of cool, actually.

deepnight 2010-12-20 12:50

Thanks all for the comments _^o^/
@LegacyCrono : yes the door can still be broken, because at first, opening it didn't award a Discovery. So you could either figure out how to get the key, or take the time to destroy it :)

Unfortunately, I decided later on to add a reward for using the key (yeah I was tired, brain was off, no more coffee..etc).

arcanmster 2010-12-20 12:59

Haha, truly amazing :) Haven't found all concepts yet, but the way to get the key is brilliant!

BlooDemon 2010-12-20 13:43

Very nice and a lot of fun. (rip rabbit xD).

David Shute 2010-12-20 13:53

Brilliant game - Well done!

I got all 30 discoveries and what I think is the maximum possible score, (316?) Is anything supposed to happen after that? I just waited until my time ran out and it sent me back home like usual.

cptalbertwesker 2010-12-20 14:07

Amazing little game, so many different things to discover, and completely humorous! Best game I've played so far!

deepnight 2010-12-20 14:08

@David : didn't have time to make a finish screen T_T... That's why I added the R shortcut :P

Hopefully in a later version ?

vdogamez 2010-12-20 14:27

How to get the key: Throw your "girlfriend" in the freezer. She turns into an ice cube, and you can use her to jump on.

plams 2010-12-20 19:49

Nice!

poutrax 2010-12-20 20:01

hi deep, your game is really brilliant !

Car is weaker than mammoth!
Fantastic work.

jagttt 2010-12-21 12:37

WANT FEMALE!!!
Really awesome game. Next time should time travel to year 2588 maybe.

thristhart 2010-12-21 18:17

Amazing.

starspell 2010-12-21 20:43

I really liked the game. The graphics are really nice and the animations are smooth. The audio is very nice as well - putting in the raindrops for example was a nice touch. However whilst there is re-playability in the achievements it would have been nice with more areas to explore and more items to use (but I guess that just goes along with the game type).

thatsnail 2010-12-21 21:22

Rabbits don't like microwave.

No no no no.

nitram_cero 2010-12-21 22:33

Woah, I've been playing this game for 40 minutes xD!!
I got up to "5 left" without reading this thread.

This game is awesome :)

BTW: You don't really need the key, you can brute-force the door by smashing it for like 10 straight seconds.
You don't get the "keys make things explode" achievement but the door is gone allright :)

dertom 2010-12-22 02:08

Wow,...that was amazing!

legacycrono 2010-12-22 02:47

@deepnight: I mean the TIME portal, not the door. :P
At the cave, you can destroy the portal, and it will stop working. You can press R to restart and it will be working again though.

moops 2010-12-22 04:28

Could never figure out how to get the key =[

pycron 2010-12-22 15:44

This game made my Ludum. It really did. Great work, mate.

The game reminded me a bit of Achievement Unlocked, but in a very good way.

Great game, lots of fun to play.

deepnight 2010-12-22 16:52

Nice you noticed the reference ;)

jonbro 2010-12-23 00:27

Nice one man. It reminded me a ton of achievement unlocked. Also count me among the people that couldnt figure out how to get the key.

recursor 2010-12-23 03:31

I cannot stop laughing! Brilliant!

k_wright 2010-12-23 23:43

Definitely one of the top games I've played so far.

endurion 2010-12-24 14:48

Dammit, can't find the last 5. At least I figured out how to get the key :)
Brilliant game, full of funnies and well played discoveries.

hamumu 2010-12-24 18:47

Super awesome. I never did discover everything, and I had to read the secret of getting the key on here, so I'm not as smart as a cave pygmy, but I still thought it was way awesome.

brighterorange 2010-12-26 04:46

This game's great, but I wish I either didn't have a timer or didn't have to rediscover everything every play-through. The art is top-notch (though it looks to me like the lady has a beard, gotta say :)) and the gameplay idea and theme are lovely. Humor was a little bit lowbrow but appropriate for cavemen. Somehow I destroyed the platform that the portal is on, so now I think I'm stuck in my cave forever..?

maackle 2010-12-27 11:26

wonderful art!

excitemike 2010-12-27 14:54

Amazing!

devenger 2010-12-30 01:39

Excellent, nice art style, amusing gameplay. Didn't get most of the discoveries though - I just don't think in the right way, methinks.

wiering 2011-01-05 00:55

It was interesting to look at your source code (I never knew you could use ">" in typedef like that!). I wasn't able to compile though, I get: Class not found : pix.Sprite (in Entity.hx), is that available somewhere?

philomory 2011-01-06 02:26

A very good entry, and funny too. Really nails the discovery theme, too. I managed a score of 268, with 26 of 30 discoveries. I suspect I am missing some involving the toilet, and possibly the rabbit, book, TV or computer.

In any case, all together a very good entry.

gornova 2011-01-07 17:18

Really, really cool game!

deepnight 2011-01-10 08:03

@wiering : oh, sorry, I used Benjamin's sprite library. Available at :
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2010/12/12/im-in-30/

cce 2011-01-11 19:26

Wow this is great, I rofled at the "consensual relationship"

Cdimaroc 2011-01-16 15:21

All my congratulations, Time pygmy was somewhat complex (i still haven't finished it ^^') but really funny !

hughperkins 2011-04-05 01:24

I thought this was really cool and fun, but I was a bit disappointed by the timer. I'd prefer to be able to explore freely in my own time.

raulfpl 2013-04-30 03:33

Even with the Benjamin's sprite library, it does'nt compile. Still missing mt.bumdum9 package.
