| Oct 8 02:42:11 | Bumparound | ♥ 1 | Nailed the theme. Incredibly clever use of the scoring/lives system, giving the player more agency in a game that would otherwise lead to frustrating dead ends. Well done. | |
| Oct 8 02:50:49 | 8m 38s | Panspermia | ♥ 1 | LOVE the art style and the overall feel of the game. The floaty characters match the floaty gameplay. Floaty. |
| Oct 8 02:53:06 | 2m 17s | The Life Spirit | ♥ 1 | Like the others have said, there is a really good concept in here that could be worth exploring further. I love simple gameplay using "elements" like this. Very clever. |
| Oct 8 12:19:02 | 9h 25m | Cast Away | ♥ 2 | Nicely done. You made an ostensibly complex game genre into something simple and intuitive. And the day-night cycle seems perfectly balanced. |
| Oct 8 12:29:42 | 10m 40s | CELL WARP / セルワープ | ♥ 0 | Love the concept. Like you said, might be worth exploring further. Moving with the mouse and "attacking" with the arrows feels a little weird, like it's opposite day, but it's probably the best way to play the game. Great work as usual. |
| Oct 8 12:43:19 | 13m 37s | lotor | ♥ 0 | So clever. Totally fits the theme, is innovative, and fun. Some of the obstacles are very innovative, like the flashing squares. (though I wish they were a teeny bit smaller.) You managed to take a "random" mechanic and still give players the ability to have control over making a level to some extent. |
| Oct 8 13:01:25 | 18m 06s | SHOCK | ♥ 1 | Nicely done. I was skeptical about using the mouse to move, but very quickly fell in love with it. The levels felt a bit repetitive, but great concept overall! |
| Oct 8 15:07:42 | 2h 06m | Nüllptr | ♥ 1 | Nicely done. Great art. I died too many times within a few pixels from the power up I really needed. I'd probably like it to be a tiny bit easier. Great job using art to differentiate so many on-screen elements. |
| Oct 8 15:21:58 | 14m 16s | Master Builder Daedalus | ♥ 2 | This is very, very clever. I admit I played a couple levels without rotating the blocks, but still eventually passed them! But toward the end that was impossible. A lot of potential with this concept. |
| Oct 8 15:37:00 | 15m 02s | Chroma | ♥ 1 | Good work here. Good level design, though it's always a bit tricky relying on toggling elements mid-jump like this. I may have seen this mechanic before, but you executed it really well. The music was nice, but the sfx didn't quite jive with it, but that's ok for a jam game. Overall great game! (Oh, the game wouldn't fully load on Safari for Mac, it seemed to lock up at 95%. Works great in Chrome.) |
| Oct 8 16:32:01 | 55m 01s | Amor Fati | ♥ 1 | Feel-Good game of the jam for sure. Well done creating a short, sweet experience. Also good use of color, and the heart animations are splendid. |
| Oct 8 16:45:42 | 13m 41s | Emoji | ♥ 1 | Very cute. A little odd changing the function of the number keys, but I was eventually able to plant a cute garden. (Couldn't figure out bricks though) :) |
| Oct 8 17:02:25 | 16m 43s | Tale of the Toad King | ♥ 3 | Nice idea. Great art! It became a bit frustrating seeing toads on lily pads and behind puddles that I assumed I could pick up, but just died. Nice take on snake mechanic. |
| Oct 8 17:15:24 | 12m 59s | Bob | ♥ 2 | I love this idea! Very clever way to start with nothing and build. I did keep "dying" while I thought I was on my raft island but was technically in the water. Love the art style as well. |
| Oct 8 17:33:39 | 18m 15s | Memory Palace | ♥ 1 | This is incredible. Your game forced me to create a story about a leviathan rising from the depths, eating an oil tanker, the hero's grandfather viewing the destruction from the family lighthouse, and the laser spectacles the hero would need to defeat the leviathan. What a great tool for idea generation and maybe writer's block! Seriously! |
| Oct 9 21:43:45 | 28h 10m | Higher Desire | ♥ 4 | Nice game. Great art and ambience, though some of the sound fx were kind of jarring for such a meditative theme. The breathing rhythm mechanic was a nice touch, but maybe a little fast. #pickles |
| Oct 9 21:45:07 | 1m 22s | Planet Jumpers | ♥ 0 | HTML5 link is not working for me? |
| Oct 9 21:51:41 | 6m 34s | Jumping Jack Flash | ♥ 0 | Well done finishing a playable build! It's a solid core for a platformer. I did find it difficult needing to think about using multiple keys at once or in rapid succession to pass a level, I've never been super fond of that on a keyboard. That kind of thing seems to work better with controllers for some reason. The double jump level seemed buggy. I died a dozen times trying to pass it, then suddenly I was able to do 4-5 air jumps and passed the level. |
| Oct 9 21:57:52 | 6m 11s | FOREST NINJA WIZARD GHOST | ♥ 1 | Finished the game. So cool seeing it all clear up like that! I also LOVED the frantic, fast-paced jumping around, trying to stay away from the cats. It felt a little out of control, but was fun to play around in there anyway. Nicely done. |
| Oct 9 22:11:53 | 14m 01s | In the beginning | ♥ 1 | There are some really good ideas in here! Sure, a little polish with the controls, level designs, and flow would help a little, but overall nice idea. I've always liked the idea of being able to access different parts of a level based on your color/possessions/costume/etc. I'd work on refining some of the basics, like the player's movement and level designs. |
| Oct 10 12:30:55 | 14h 19m | Veni, Vidi, Upgradici | ♥ 3 | SO FUN. While this concept has been seen before (if you're old like me), you did a great job of making it original and a blast to play. (There's an old Flash game called Upgrade Complete you should take a quick look at.) As far as constructive criticism, I had to look very hard to find anything. If you're moving up or down, the camera movement doesn't allow you to see ahead of you very far. Also, an enemy seemed to spawn right where I was standing once. But those are nitpicky little marks on a fabulous game. Probably my fav game of this jam. |
| Oct 10 12:40:02 | 9m 07s | NoControl | ♥ 1 | Nicely done! It's like a little template for a metroidvania game. The keyboard controls were a little bit goofy when needing to do complex movements. But great job overall. |
| Oct 10 12:49:38 | 9m 36s | Time Shelter | ♥ 0 | Nice job! It did feel a bit tedious having to move around so slowly, especially when retracing my steps so often. Well done in expanding the story as you played. |
| Oct 10 13:04:01 | 14m 23s | I Have No Mouth, And I Must Create Blocks On All Sides Of Me | ♥ 1 | Nice puzzle game. I got to level 12 before my stomach told me time to eat. I'll come back to it. My only feedback would be that some later levels seemed easier than some of the earlier ones. But that could have also been experience making me see the puzzle solutions easier as I went? Nice job overall. |
| Oct 10 19:27:12 | 6h 23m | The Glowing Adventure | ♥ 0 | Hey great little game. I dig the art style. The music seemed a bit too chill and relaxing, considering I was battling for my life against giant, ghost-white spiders. :D Nice work! |
| Oct 10 19:33:27 | 6m 15s | When Nothing Came | ♥ 2 | Wow, what a great experience. It was a little laggy in my browser, but what a great idea using point-and-click this way! |
| Oct 10 19:37:59 | 4m 32s | The Choice of Life: Middle Ages | ♥ 3 | This was so fun! :D Reminds me of Reigns, but your version has some original mechanics to it. Nicely done, and I love the humor! (I was attacked by a horse, and the mad animal ate my whole crop). |
| Oct 10 19:46:59 | 9m 00s | You Gotta Be Kitten Me | ♥ 4 | Nice little dungeon crawler! Well done designing the levels incrementally based on the ability pick-ups! |
| Oct 10 19:50:32 | 3m 33s | Egg Farm | ♥ 1 | This was so good. Great art style, I love the minimalism, but it was all very clear. Also the "?" hints helped a ton, otherwise the game would have been frustrating. Nicely done! |
| Oct 10 20:46:46 | 56m 14s | World Collector | ♥ 2 | Great game, Joe. Theme, gameplay, mood, all of it. It's always tough to manage a game in which a player has to jump between mouse and keyboard controls (instead of using them in conjunction like in FPS games) but you've done as well as one could hope. I think most players just had to take a moment to get used to the control combination like I did. I also dig the pixel art, very solid. (It did feel like the 4-directional block design arose from the game deadline looming, perhaps?) |
| Oct 11 15:27:37 | 18h 40m | Absorb | ♥ 1 | Nicely done. Nice art and animation. There are a bunch of "start with no abilities" games in this jam, and you did well using the absorption theme with the ants, grasshoppers, rhino beetle, etc. |
| Oct 11 15:29:15 | 1m 38s | PXL IT | ♥ 1 | Nice! Very clever game idea. I loved how you know exactly what to do the moment you begin moving around. So intuitive! I did feel like some of the enemies spawned and began moving super quick, which felt a little bit unfair. But overall nice job! |
| Oct 11 15:30:37 | 1m 22s | Trick or Retreat | ♥ 1 | Nicely done here. I love the concept of having to trick or treat while dodging military bombings. The gameplay itself was a little stiff, however. Well done overall! |
| Oct 11 15:32:13 | 1m 36s | Pandorama | ♥ 1 | This was so fun! You know by now that there are a million games like this in the jam. But you did so well with the game feel, art, sound, screenshake, all that, to make it stand out. Well done. |
| Oct 11 15:33:44 | 1m 31s | HONK | ♥ 1 | Hmm, I couldn't get it to work on my PC. (Dusted off my Windows 7 PC to install it) But I've watched plenty of gameplay videos, looks super fun! |
| Oct 11 15:34:51 | 1m 07s | Pocketon Peak | ♥ 2 | This looks super fun, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work on my (Windows 7) PC. I'll try again tonight. :( |
