Aug 2 08:56:38 Suicide Watch ♥ 1 A very cool concept, very reminiscent of Mr. Robot for me personally. The gameplay again is a cool concept, but I got very confused by the interface. It took a second playthrough to understand that each program takes times to close, and you may only close one program at once. The first playthrough I was just wildy clicking trying to close everything I could as quickly as I could like I would on a normal PC. I think primarily what is clickable needs to be emphasised. The intro also needs to be skippable, and I think the addition of a small tutorial would make it easier to play. Overall though a really good idea! Excellent work!
Aug 2 16:27:34 7h 30m Adrift ♥ 1 This was quite a tense game, and I was really into the sci fi vibes it gave. The story reminded me of the movie that came out earlier this year called Life which I thought was wicked! A couple of things to consider - For some reason it kept getting flagged by my antivirus (Avast)?? And gameplay wise only a couple of things, I think the player collider should be a lot smaller as I found myself running into doors as I was going back and forth to turn the ventilation on and off; and I also would have loved it if the 'thing' presented a bit more of a threat. Still a great game, I had heaps of fun playing it! Awesome job!
Aug 2 16:31:49 4m 15s Saturnalia ♥ 0 This is very atmospheric and incredibly polished. Neat little puzzles too, albeit simple. Excellent work!
Aug 2 16:44:52 13m 03s I'm an (nuclear) engineer! ♥ 2 I am very impressed with what you achieved over the weekend. The mechanics you have in there are great, but I found myself kind of confused on how to play? I managed to win on my first go despite not knowing what I was doing :P Still though, had a ball playing :D Excellent work!
Aug 2 17:00:55 16m 03s Erebot ♥ 1 This was a really pleasant experience! Great art & atmosphere, and I think that the use of the light and shadows is great! Took me a couple of tries to realise that its the solar panels on top of the character that have to stay out of the shadows rather than the character itself but once I realised that it was smooth sailing! Although I did go exploring on the second level, climbed up a hill and then my camera got booted waaaaaaayy off into the distance :P Awesome work man!
Aug 2 17:16:54 15m 59s System.reLight ♥ 1 Nice art & audio, only complaint would be the movement is a bit too slide-y but aside from that was fun. :)
Aug 2 17:22:27 5m 33s Rise Shine Fall ♥ 1 I love Mongolian throat singing so you got me right away on that one ;) Would have been sweet to have had some nice music in the background. Graphics were very unique, the stylized look was great.
Aug 2 17:27:44 5m 17s Westwood Hills Hospital ♥ 1 This was a cool little walking sim experience. I was sort of hoping for a jump-scare at the end there :P The best thing about this game for me is the graphic style though, seriously good job with the art and the audio as well!
Aug 2 18:30:47 1h 03m Amazeing Battery Life ♥ 0 Great use of the theme, and very intense gameplay! I had myself running in circles out of panic when my battery started getting low xD
Aug 2 18:46:14 15m 27s Tomaton ♥ 1 This was really fun to play! I was really impressed to see a 3D platformer like this in LD. I just wish so badly there could have been some audio, but never the less still really great fun! I made sure all the villagers were happy, got to the end and then went and killed everyone I could find! :D
Aug 3 15:15:20 20h 29m Ads will tell our Story for us ♥ 1 I loved this little platformer, I thought the audio and the graphics were very polished and the game was quite fun! The only thing I would say is that having the 'thrust' which is pretty much a jetpack automatically ascend rather than having to press 'up' or 'w' or however you choose to play. I kept running out of power because I kept expecting the jetpack to give me some kind of lift on its own. But really that is the only thing I could think of while I was playing, very good job otherwise!
Aug 3 15:25:28 10m 08s Drain ♥ 0 I thought this was a pretty cool concept! I thought that it was a bit dark, and I got lost and couldn't figure out where to go after powering the first 3 beams. But never the less a cool concept!
Aug 3 15:32:41 7m 13s Almost Home ♥ 0 Awesome job on the graphics and the music. I found myself wanting to have a bit more control over the ship though, as the controls were a bit floaty. I also found the win/lose conditions to be a bit off as sometimes I would lose as soon as I got to 0% fuel and other times it would just let me float off for ages. I think there should be a set time or something from when you get to 0% fuel until it restarts you so that you have a bit of time to pick up some more if you are floating in the right direction. And finally, I think the hitboxes for the fuel should be a bit larger as there were quite a few times I felt like I should have picked up the fuel but somehow missed it. Still a great concept, and a nice relaxing game to chill with! (Y)
Aug 3 15:43:26 10m 45s Manual Overload ♥ 0 Hahahaha man this was so sweet. Nice job!
Aug 3 15:48:48 5m 22s Deep ♥ 1 I fell through the submarine as soon as I sat down :/ Also can you only steer it one way? I reassigned the movement keys but the submarine would only turn right... Is that like, an actual submarine thing?? O.o Anyway the general concept and ideas behind this game are sweet, wasn't really able to figure out what I was supposed to do but the mood and setting of the game are cool and the idea of commanding a submarine that is running out of power on your own is a wicked idea for a horror game. Nice!
Aug 3 15:58:28 9m 40s Plasma Arena ♥ 2 Man I wish so badly this wouldn't crash every time I start shooting, I was really looking forward to smashing this game for a while! Love arena shooters, and I love the idea you have gone for here! Some audio would have been the icing on the cake too.
Aug 3 16:02:22 3m 54s REAMS ♥ 2 Congratulations, you scared the absolute bujeezus out of me! Kudos, and good work on a great game!
Aug 3 16:07:47 5m 25s Light Source ♥ 1 Interesting concept, but the controls make it very difficult. I could not figure out for the life of me how to climb up a wall for more than a second. The tone and general atmosphere of the game is pretty solid though.
Aug 3 16:48:02 40m 15s The P.U.R.G.E. Protocol ♥ 1 Interesting concept and story idea, but found the gameplay to be a bit bland and the character controller could have been a bit more sensitive to input (faster movement and mouse sensitivity). Audio would have brought a lot more to the atmosphere and mood of the game too.
Aug 3 16:59:24 11m 22s Delivery To The Underpass ♥ 1 Great game, really loved the graphic style and the music really set the mood as well.
Aug 3 17:10:09 10m 45s Sunseeker ♥ 2 Nice work! Very impressive for a game jam of any caliber. Overall I think some of the collisions need improvement, and some kind of GUI that made it more clear who you were attacking and gave you the health of your allies and maybe even a game timer might improve the experience. But seriously good work on this, was a lot of fun to play :)
Aug 3 17:37:46 27m 37s Wave ♥ 2 This was graceful, calming, and had a beautiful tone. Awesome job on those assets, I would love to see this evolve into it's own project. It could be up there with Ori if you went hard out on the graphics and audio and expanded on gameplay mechanics. Awesome work!
Aug 3 17:56:16 18m 30s Breath ♥ 1 This is an incredibly polished game, and I was instantly amazed by the level of quality and the general idea for the game. The only two things I would say is that I think the post-processing effects may be a bit overkill, they look good but they also are a bit much (specifically the bloom). Secondly, I think some of the darker areas should be slightly more lit up while some of the lighter areas could be made a lot darker. I didn't get passed the third key, but I spent about 10 minutes trying to look for it and after that my eyes couldn't take much more of the flashing lights. Wicked game though, I really hope you guys go on to develop this further!
Aug 4 08:25:36 14h 29m Yet Another Exhausted Day ♥ 0 Absolutely genius! This was so much fun to play. I saw it on a lets play on YouTube and had to play it right away hahaha. The only qualm I would have is that the timed camera blur is a bit off putting. I mean I get it, he's tired and his vision is blurred but at least have an option to turn it off. All the mechanics and everything else though 100% solid, kudos mate!
Aug 5 17:19:33 32h 53m Televised Intelligence Manager (TIM) ♥ 0 Very good work on the voice acting! And a really great original idea, this was very entertaining to play!
Aug 6 04:41:19 11h 21m Fluff Factory ♥ 1 This was amazing haha, what a great game! Quite a unique idea, I think it would be interesting to see an expanded version of this game. Some audio would have been the icing on the cake though and really set the mood and made it all that more immersive. The only bug I encountered was when I purchased 5 food and 5 water quickly, I only got 2 of the food and 1 of the water delivered and it didn't seem like they stacked or anything to me. Kudos on an amazing game!
Aug 6 05:08:01 26m 42s Back Home ♥ 1 This was such a joy to play, really relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. The graphic style suits the tone and setting of the game and the mechanics were really well refined I found and I was using the arrow keys! Such a good job on this, kudos!
Aug 6 05:17:38 9m 37s Defend Home: Mars ♥ 1 Cool game, was pretty fun to play. A couple of things that could use improvement - first of all some variety in both enemy types and weapon types would make it a lot more interesting and fun to play around with (but obviously the time constraints of a game jam make this very difficult when you're the only developer :P ) and secondly having some variability to the accuracy of the weapons. I found it really easy because if I just single clicked I would not ever miss. But none the less, a great game for one made in 48 hours - great work!
Aug 6 05:23:48 6m 10s Inverteb ♥ 1 This is such a cool game! One of the first impressions I had after 30 seconds into my first run was that this could make a sweet movie :P Amazing style, the graphics and audio are both amazing. I felt like I was participating in some kind of game show or something. Super kudos to you guys!
Aug 6 05:46:12 22m 24s Everust ♥ 0 This was a really nice game to play. Loved the setting and the graphic style. The audio was good too but it could have been even more immersive if there were a few sound effects. Overall, excellent job!
Aug 6 05:53:35 7m 23s The Torches Are Burning Low ♥ 0 I found the gameplay to be a bit boring but the general concept and idea behind the game is cool. Nice work none the less!
Aug 6 05:57:15 3m 40s Night of the Living Toaster ♥ 1 Haha hilarious idea, really cool 'puzzler' in a way. Excellent work!
Aug 6 06:06:46 9m 31s Socket Punch! ♥ 2 Highly addictive and massively fun! This is definitely one of the highlights for me in this ludum dare. Such good work, kudos!
Aug 6 06:21:11 14m 25s AEOS ♥ 1 This is absolutely amazing, very reminiscent of the Witness. You have made a gentle and relaxing puzzle game and I love it. The boat mechanics I think are very fluent and make it a lot of fun just to ride around and explore. Some extra sound effects and a bit of gentle music would have been icing on the caking but overall this is one of the gems of this LD! Kudos!
Aug 6 08:16:10 1h 54m Who Wants to be Alive? ♥ 1 This is a really great idea and was super fun to play! Personally I would prefer WASD over the arrow keys, and I think the timer may have been a bit quick but I still had a great time. Good job!
Aug 6 10:23:03 2h 06m Power Station ♥ 2 Fun game, ends way too quickly though. Would love to hear something a bit more original and suitable in terms of music as well. Good job though!
Aug 6 10:38:14 15m 11s Saito's Transgression ♥ 0 This was a great little experience. The art style I found to be quite unique and very eye catching, and the music was excellent. The overall theme, setting and narrative of the game are also very original and is a fresh take on some things that you see recycled endlessly. Awesome job man, kudos!
Aug 6 11:04:03 25m 49s Number Station ♥ 1 Incredible game, great use of mechanics. Very entertaining but I thought the puzzles may be a bit hard, I managed to fluke my way to the timed puzzles once but after that could not get that far again despite thinking I already knew the puzzles :P Nicely done!
Aug 6 11:25:09 21m 06s Station 5723: Reactor Down ♥ 3 Not a bad little game, got stumped on the code for a bit (was thinking it had something to do with 1,6,8,9 :P) but then I looked up at the wall and I felt so stupid haha :P Nice work!
Aug 6 11:31:29 6m 20s Power Rush ♥ 0 All in all a fun little game. You should find a way to convey the context of the story to the player other than that huge wall of text at the start of the game, people like me don't read that stuff and just get stuck straight into the game :P As a result of my rebellious play style, I had no idea what to do with the crystals haha :P The crystals and crystal ores/nodes should also be made a bit more obvious to the player that they are what the player is after. I also think the players character controller was a bit slide-y. Good idea though, nicely done!
Aug 6 11:46:39 15m 10s ROOP: The Ship in Danger ♥ 1 Very interesting idea, but I the lack of tutorial/instructions makes the game hard. Once the power runs out in the control room its game over as far as I could tell, and that was happening way too quickly. There was a fair bit of double skinning/onion skinning on a lot of the models too so there may have been duplicate models present in the scene. And the addition of audio could really have improved the atmosphere and mood for the game, and if you did like audio tutorials/instructions things would be much easier. Though this game has some real solid concepts!
Aug 6 11:52:59 6m 20s Programmer Energy ♥ 1 Awesome game! Simple idea, yet effective & challenging. Kudos!
Aug 6 12:09:29 16m 30s Power Planet ♥ 1 Amazing game! The graphics reminded me of Antichamber, and the gameplay, though relaxing, constantly made my knees weak. People who are afraid of heights should not play this game! Or they totally should ;P Kudos guys this is a highlight for LD 39 for me!
Aug 6 13:51:08 1h 41m Outside ♥ 1 Absolutely superb game, goes to show that you do not need any art at all to create an incredibly atmospheric and immersive experience. The lighting, audio and effects were top notch, very impressed! I would love to see this game with some models just to add some extra context to the game.
Aug 6 13:54:57 3m 49s Indiana Stones ♥ 0 Quite a fun game, only issue I had was with wood disappearing as soon as it came into the light surrounding the character. So I couldn't keep my fire level up, but the concept of the game is cool!
Aug 6 13:58:26 3m 29s Downpour ♥ 1 Awesome idea for a platformer, I would love to see this developed into more of a game on put on Steam. I could see this becoming one of those 'standout' platformers like Ori, Unravel, etc.
Aug 6 14:17:40 19m 14s Murder on 39th Street ♥ 0 Man this is such a cool concept! Great job on the gameplay, the art and audio are awesome too! Kudos!
Aug 6 14:24:48 7m 08s The Greater Good ♥ 1 Love the graphic style man, and I actually found myself really getting into the story! A bit more refinement on the character mechanics & animations would be the icing on the cake. Good work!
Aug 6 14:34:39 9m 51s Theresa Dreams of Wheat ♥ 1 Hahaha nice :P F*cking hilarious! Also the text on the signs for all the doors can be seen through all the walls somehow?? Heh, heh, heh.... nice... (Y)
Aug 6 17:26:59 2h 52m DRAIN ♥ 1 Haha what a neat game, kudos my dudes!
Aug 7 12:46:58 19h 19m Battery-Powered Business ♥ 0 Cool concept for a game! I think some of the puzzle timers may have been a bit short, and would have been good to see some kind of UI indicator of how much each building costs. A tutorial would be nice as well, took me a while to understand what I was trying to do. Awesome graphics and nice audio too.
Aug 7 13:51:24 1h 04m Escape from Solar Sea Fortress ♥ 0 Unfortunately I found this game to be really buggy. The interaction is super touchy, whenever I was holding something if it even slightly touched another collider it would go flying. When I tried to pick things up, it would pick them up for a split second and send the item flying if I didn't hold down the mouse button. And on the third level I got stuck because I couldn't get the battery to fit in the socket, it kept getting sucked in then spat out instantly but the audio as if it was working would play (but no lit up connections or anything). Another thing with the sockets is that they are super touchy, too frequently I would go to retrieve a battery from a socket and it would instantly get sucked back in again. I am quite disappointed by what I was actually able to play because I saw this on a lets play and it looked really cool! The one thing I really loved about the game though was the audio, the music and the ambient sounds of the waves are really immersive. Would have been nice to see some kind of moving water shader as well but in 48 hours I can understand why you might have left this.
Aug 7 14:02:36 11m 12s The Kleptocracy of Rodentia ♥ 1 This is an awesome game, seriously good job on this! The gameplay is fun & addictive, and procedurally generated levels maximise the replayability! The two things I would mention is that it would be good to have the ability to rotate the camera, as I found myself wanting to rotate it and even move it with the mouse cursor to a certain degree - maybe have the ability to look around the map if you are standing still or something? Anyway the other thing is that I noticed the AI tends to group up in one room and a lot of the time they get stuck. Other than that, this is a great game! Kudos to the whole team!
Aug 7 14:53:33 50m 57s Fade ♥ 0 Awesome game, really atmospheric and moody. The only thing I wanted different was a crossbow sound with more oomph but otherwise this is a solid entry!
Aug 7 15:05:55 12m 22s Rush ♥ 1 The best thing about this game for me is the art style, I loved the art style although the character stood out from everything else a bit because it's not quite in the same style. Not sure what the purpose of the flashlight was really because its super easy to see without it. Elaborate on the current mechanics a bit and refine the art style and I could see this game selling pretty well :)
Aug 7 16:07:32 1h 01m Lost Soul ♥ 2 Interesting concept, but I think the mechanics and everything need refining. Not entirely sure what the win conditions are but I managed to win after 3 seconds into the game O.o Nifty idea with the souls in purgatory having different random mechanics when you control them. Nice!
Aug 9 04:31:16 36h 23m Computer Crisis ♥ 1 Haha holy hell that was intense! Excellent work, the only problem I encountered was that when the resolution was set to fullscreen it would only display a black screen but all of the gameplay was spot on! The only other thing I could mention is that the text was sometimes a little bit hard to read sometimes. Kudos on a game well done!
Aug 9 07:05:47 2h 34m Cyberhell Cleaner ♥ 2 Definitely a cool idea for a game! The execution was very good, however I think that the ammo from the shop possibly costs too much. I found myself running out of ammo a lot. Apparently there are pick ups but I didn't see any unfortunately. The shop is a good idea though, the time in between waves could probably be a bit longer as well. Maybe make it so that the break is not timed and the player can start the next wave by pressing a button or something? All in all though a good game!
Aug 9 07:16:19 10m 32s Pain That Binds Us ♥ 2 What a great little experience, suuuuuper moody. Great job!
Aug 9 07:36:29 20m 10s Berzerk Hunt ♥ 1 This is a really good game, interesting take on the theme too! I had so much fun playing this, the only thing I wasn't sure on was the aiming/targeting of the throw ability? Couldn't quite figure that out. But superb job on a really good game!
Aug 9 07:49:00 12m 31s Light Switch Crusader ♥ 1 Really great game, although there is a lot of room for improvement I still had a lot of fun playing this and wouldn't give up until I won! Gameplay wise, I think a GUI pop up for whenever you are in range of a light and are able to switch it off. Even if there's just a highlighted border around the light model. Secondly, I initially had no idea that anyone was in the beds. I first got caught in the parents room because I didn't notice the two heads in the bed, and even after that I got caught again in the childs room for the same reason. I did really like the camera movement though, I thought that was really well done, and the sound effects were pretty decent! Nice job!
Aug 9 08:09:40 20m 40s Signal Lost ♥ 0 Super entertaining, and a very unique game. I found it a bit difficult to find my way back to the ship after going long distances but I guess thats just my terrible surrounding awareness haha :P Excellent job, the audio is super atmospheric too!
Aug 11 07:35:50 47h 26m The Unhuman ♥ 1 This game should have a lot more votes, it's awesome! Excellent job mate, the mood of the game was really great and I liked the concept the game explores. I loved the player's UI, that was a really unique and interesting way of telling the story! Really cool that there was multiple endings available as well, this was my first Ludum Dare but I would bet that multiple endings are something that is not very common in these small game jams (even more so for the compo). The lighting was really nice as well, and really helped set the tone. Awesome job, this is one of my LD favourites!
Aug 13 07:45:53 48h 10m SPHEER ♥ 1 Kudos on a really polished and all around great little game! This is a solid concept that would make an excellent full-fledged game. Create some kind of story [and possibly even some sociopathically humorous antagonist ;)] and I think you have a fun game that would do pretty well as a standalone! Great job!
Aug 13 07:55:09 9m 16s Lantern ♥ 1 This game just goes to show that a super simple mechanic can be incredibly addictive and fun, and the atmosphere of the game is really enhanced by the great graphics and audio. Brilliant work!
Aug 13 08:21:26 26m 17s Temple of Illumination ♥ 1 Relentlessly addictive and a whole mess of fun! Amazing game, a few simple mechanics and you have yourself a game that is very hard to walk away from without passing every level! Pretty deceiving as well, the later levels got REALLY hard for me hahaha, excellent work - kudos!
Aug 13 15:01:27 6h 40m A Black Screen ♥ 1 This is a great idea and I loved playing it! I can't believe I actually beat it too :O Kudos on a very good effort! A couple of minor points - Maybe in the maze level implement a door sound at each 'corner' so that it is a bit easier to make a mental map of the maze. This might sound weird, but that was definitely the hardest level and I was thinking some kind of sound to recognize each time I turned a corner or entered a new 'hall' so to speak may have helped me navigate a bit easier. Secondly I think at the end it would have been really cool if the narrators monitor started working finally and maybe had some sort of boot-up screen as the win screen? Awesome job though dude, very creative!
Aug 15 14:16:43 47h 15m Zombies and RVs ♥ 1 K6AED.gif Dude, f-ing kick ass! Seriously good job, kudos!
Aug 15 14:54:16 37m 33s LOTS - Legend of the Teleportation Stone ♥ 2 What a great concept you have come up with here, this could make for a really neat full puzzler game. The throwing and falling sound clips were golden haha, they gave me a good laugh :P Some of the puzzles really had me going as well! Good job man.
Aug 15 15:03:50 9m 34s Cities ♥ 1 Wonderful style, and a really creative and original concept and theme. I think it would be a bit easier if there was some kind of clearer visual indicator as to which light post you are currently controlling like a red arrow above or something. I found myself scrambling to get to specific light posts and not knowing where I was at some points while I was playing. And some music would have really set the tone and mood for the game as well, but all in all this is a really great entry! Kudos!
Aug 21 16:35:40 145h 31m POW ♥ 2 I featured POW in my lets play ludum dare 39 series, here's a link if you're interested! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5E8Q7PzoyY&feature=youtu.be
