Confusing corridors by someone 2020-10-06T17:10:33Z
This one is kind of odd. Nice audio and graphics, but this is just way too obtuse

This is really solid. Good storytelling, good gameplay, good adherence to the theme. Question: What is the ending where you let him open the chamber? I misclicked and really want to know
I rated this game fairly well. It's a smart idea, and once I "got" it I was really able to appreciate how innovative and original this idea is, but until there's some better player guidance I have difficulty labeling this game as "fun". Not that all games have to be of course, but I think it's just kind of frustrating for new players the way it is right now, which is not ideal
The controls are kind of problematic imo. I was dying a lot because I pressed one way and didn't go the direction I hoped. I think this game could have benefitted from a "smarter" control scheme; if there are only 2 directions I can go, either key should move me down the corridor. Also, the text repeating each time I died was very annoying
Besides those, this is a good idea with a good enough execution, and it was reasonably fun to dodge those cars. the Blue cars that do manhattan pathfinding towards the player was a good idea, but I feel as thought they could have been introduced more slowly
This was a somewhat confusing game imo. I managed to get to level 3 before quitting. I would say it's way too hard, and also the fact that the audio repeats each time you die (which is frequent) gets annoying very quickly. Good job on finishing though
Before feedback even given - You're being way too liberal with patching. This isn't just bugfixes, this is patching bad puzzles to make them more gettable, balancing, polishing, etc etc. Post jam updates SHOULD not be including this kind of thing, and I'm fairly sure couple of your patches violate ldjam rules. Living with mistakes is part of the gamejam experience
Other than that; game was fairly enjoyable. I really felt no motivation to solve the puzzles, same issue I had with the witness. The only reward was more puzzles, which is a bit of a shame. I get that's it's own fairly successful niche that I'm just not a part of though. Great visual and auditory polish as well
Why are you patching substantive bugs and aadding balacing updates post jam? That defeats the purpose of playing the jam, morally speaking you shouldn't be patching things that aren't gamebreaking or substanceless
Oh, this is fun. Very hard as well... I didn't manage to finish, but with a nicer difficulty curve, this is a great idea that is definitely worth continuing

I absolutely love rythm games, this one as well. Super polished, super good concept, super good theme adherence, etc
Pretty solid! I quit when the game hard reset or I won. I think you could have made the spike corridor a bit easier. The art is nice and the audio is very soild as well
Incredibly good game. Good concept, good graphics, good puzzles, fairly easy, etc etc. I like how the head goes into a rage and pursues the tail to the end, big fan
Very simple, I feel like this doesn't really adhere to the theme though? Like I see the loop with the movement, but it feels somewhat shoehorned in to me. This is saved by excellent polish, both graphics and audio wise. Very well made for a compo
I take issue with the movement system here. The player should continue moving the direction you clicked - the pointer on the spot was helpful but him stopping was unintuitive. I agree with @jofish the pills disappearing was pretty frustrating and I think you should have oversized the hitboxes. Doesn't really respect theme imo, if you're going to say pillspawing I would argue it's not a big part of the game and honestly hurts more than it helps.
That being said, the audio and graphics are amazing. I wish I was this good at polish in any amount of time, forget 48 hours. Also blender game, nice.
Graphics are good, nice bouncy animation, good audio, reasonably fun and quite playable, should have opted out of humour and mood imo. The sticking point here for me is that the theme feels shoehorned in. This game would work just was well (maybe even better) if the abilities were not on a rotating loop. I can't grade you down too hard because you did technically fulfill theme reqs, but it felt to me as though you had your gameidea preset/premade and just added a small thing to fit with the theme.
I thought it was an interesting concept, then the game ended. Good idea, unfortunate that you ran into issues
Fun fun movement! good music and sound! I take issue with the reptitiveness of the level though, I think you could have benefitted greatly from introducing a small random in levelgen
Small postjam change - I forgot to click a button on the export, so the window sizing would have been weird. No content was added, removed, or changed beyond just clicking setting "2d" and "keep" in export settings E: Links are the same
@steventus Thanks! What happened with collisions was that each collider copied the polygon of the drawn version in code, but there was likely a slight position offset, so while they had the same shapes, they were in slightly different spots, breaking the collisions a bit.
This certainly wasn't meant to be a rage game haha, but I never seem to be able to manage anything else in jams
@flaterectomy I agree completely tbh, too hard. Thanks for the review!
@spaceguinea-productions thanks!
@greytyphoon I agree completely and those are all spectacular ideas. I started pretty much on the last day so I didn't manage to get any polish || playtesting in. If I release a postjam balanced version, those are all things I will do first.
@toccio94 Agreed entirely, Thanks for the feedback!
@thedoctoroftime Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
@nacho-hon I can see why, honestly. Cheers!
@catomag I lost my fingers in a car accident 13 years ago. Thanks for the compliment about the music! Was fairly proud of that one
@shimali No key to quit, ran out of time
@thulium-games Thanks! Appreciate that
@triceratopsjjj Thanks man!
Oh this is terrifying. Props for providing a manual, pretty cool callback :)
This is a very well polished game, I'm very impressed. Sounds, art, etc are all pretty much on point. I feel like the only real problem I had with this game was the lack of gameplay. This would be an excellent game on mobile, you could basically take this, publish it on the app store, and you'll have a game that's soidily in the upper half - 1/3 of mobile games. PC feels like the wrong platform, but this is Ludum Dare so it feels wrong to grade down on that
I feel like I shouldn't rate this, but I was not able to get past level1. Had no idea what to do
I feel like I didn't "get" this game. I didn't understand how to kill the crowd; I chose the player and pointed at the people, but they take a billion hits to die. I would like the ability to switch the band members via the mouse as well, q/e or a/d (thanks for including a/d) weren't super intuitive. This may be in part because switching d from left edge goes to right edge instead of bottom
