LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Double Kick Heroes by blackmagic 2015-12-18T14:41:00

Wow! The pixel art is soo good. Love the simplicity of the controls and the audio. I think the "awesome" "good" "perfect" voice got a little repetitive. Maybe if he only spoke when you got an Awesome or something. Great work!

Slash Quest by Big Green Pillow ft Mgaia 2015-12-16T11:41:00

Wow!! This is really great. Super smart use of both themes and really adorable, well polished art. Love the vibes. A little more feedback on how you reach the next platform would be helpful. It wasn't too clear that hitting the statue created the bridge at first. Awesome work!

CMDR LR by timtipgames 2015-12-16T11:01:00

Very challenging but in all the right ways. Felt mechanically satisfying and had a difficulty curve that felt a little steep but was enjoyable. I liked it a lot! Great work.

The Last of Egg by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2015-12-18T12:11:00

Hahaha the egg beard. Hilarious take on one of my favorite games. I will say the jumping felt awkward, wish there was a dedicated jump button. But I know you were keeping in line with theme. Great work!

Forest growth by chabuduo 2015-12-16T11:19:00

Nice little game! It would have been cool if the trees had more art variations. Very simple but satisfying. Good work!

Riders On The Steppes by theholychicken 2015-12-18T12:03:00

Awesome! I loved the feel of this game. The subtle screenshake, high point of view and great animation made it feel like I was really controlling a little army.

Vitality by lastninja2 2015-12-16T11:29:00

I liked the multiple path options and simple controls! Although it was a little disorienting that sometimes up moved platforms down and vice versa. Overall great work!

Cosmo Hopper by PlasterPhantom 2015-12-15T18:36:00

Wow! This game is beautiful. The mechanics were a little jarring and I did encounter a bug where I got stuck inside a launcher. But overall really cool!

PreGumbo! by FistBumpGames 2015-12-18T11:56:00

I liked the art style! Gameplay was simple but unique. Good job!

SUPER PLANT FRENZY by Glint Games 2015-12-16T14:33:00

I like the art style! I did find it a bit confusing though. Could have used a bit more tutorial. Good work overall!

Meatlings by Zetym 2015-12-16T12:27:00

Funny and somewhat disturbing. I loved the sync with the music, added a lot of intensity! Great work

Pixies Flowers by puppetmaster 2015-12-16T22:07:00

Cute game! Great for children in that it is very simple and visually appealing, but requires a bit of timed precision.

Volcano by uvwar 2015-12-16T11:57:00

Nice work! It was fun to spawn multiple volcanoes at once, even though it slowed the game down at times. The interface in the beginning was really interesting. Would recommend adding more visual feedback when you have pressed F to place a volcano.

Nedrag by Indiestry 2015-12-15T17:05:00

the music and art were beautiful. loved the patterns you make in combination with those pink flowers and falling snow. only thing I was unsure about was how the wasps worked? regardless, great job!

Winter Wilds by Bastienre4 2015-12-19T00:04:00

Awesome! I love the hand painted style of the logo and the 3d art. Great sound and overall vibes. Although I did have some lag issues. Great job!

Gjallarhorn by NoWandStudios 2015-12-15T18:15:00

Looks cool but I had some trouble running this in Firefox. Is a windows download an option?

Vine Runners by ss64games 2015-12-15T18:12:00

Very cool! I love the multiplayer component. A refreshing twist on a previous idea. Only other comment I have is that it is hard to tell at first which player you are controlling. Great work!

Slash to Victory by Juin 2015-12-16T18:36:00

Great job, this is fun! I don't think anyone is saying you stole assets from Rogue Legacy, but I can see more than just genre similarities (the fact that the boss is very similar, the enemies look similar, the sword looks almost the same, it plays similarly). However, I don't think that takes away from the game you have made. You've made something really cool! Great work!

Bouncing Bounces by khofez 2015-12-16T11:52:00

Nice! I liked the art and animation style. It was satisfying to slam into walls. It was a little hard to get past the initial difficulty hurdle though. Great work!

Lumberjack vs. Ancient Druid's Cybertree by anv 2015-12-19T00:17:00

Cool game! I enjoyed the tree puns. Overall art was excellent, though the walking and chopping felt a little stiff. Great job, I liked it!

Spinning Around by DinnerInTheDark 2015-12-15T19:33:00

I really enjoyed playing it. You took the limitation of the 2 buttons and used it to create interesting 3d space with some nice puzzles. I liked how you used the teleporters so that the player could move along the radius of the cylinder.

Sprouting Magic by Dakutau 2015-12-15T18:20:00

Nice little game! I like the ambient lighting and sound effects along with the gentle music. Makes me feel like I'm actually growing through the earth.

SLUG STORM by Niels.Tiercelin 2015-12-17T02:05:00

Great art, cool physics! Great work on this! I enjoyed it.

NanoBit by Weeping Rupee 2015-12-15T06:59:00

I really liked the premise.

I thought the game was very punishing. Even though there's a whole spectrum of sizes which damage can grow you too if you take any damage at all, it's too much for you to get through the first part. I couldn't get past the first part 90% of the time so I ended up giving up.

The premise was interesting but based on what I played it may as well of been death on hit because being hit once forces you to restart.

Also I think a lot of people (me included) would a appreciate a single executable rather than the installer. The compressed zip version tends to work in game maker.

Feed Your Queen by stargardengames 2015-12-15T18:58:00

We should have done a better job at emphasizing this, but you can actually press the R button to recall to Queen so you won't lose her!

Protoplanet by Benjamin-L 2015-12-15T06:43:00

Doesn't run for me.

Windows 7

Grow Your Defense by gebirgsbaerbel 2015-12-16T12:07:00

Love the "breeding" mechanic! An interesting twist on an existing genre and neat use of the theme. Good work!

Dopest Sphere Around - Pandaman3D by Pandaman3D 2015-12-15T07:04:00

Do you think you could include a downloadable link? I'm having trouble with the unity web player.

Feed the Queen by sitronTe 2015-12-15T06:34:00

It was ok
It felt like the queen was moving too slow. I liked how she became more bloated as time went on. The hand written notes were a nice touch.

American Excess by lectric.monk 2015-12-15T19:13:00

Nice game. I couldn't get it to run on Windows 7 (just a black screen when I start it up. I can hear but can't see) but luckily I had access to a mac.

I thought it was a good satire, making fun of our spending habits. The mechanics were challenging but fun.
I especially liked the background comments during the game, they were pretty funny.

Normal Factory by exhidor 2015-12-15T17:30:00

I liked it! Simple enough to digest, but difficult to master. I like seeing the transformation of the outputs. If there was some visual feedback to tell the player how long they have to input the button combos, that would be helpful. Great work!

Life... yet, Death! by UgiWithAKnife 2015-12-15T16:54:00

very cool take on the growth theme! very dark and interesting. if you take this game beyond ludum dare, maybe consider adding a pause function so you can upgrade your abilities without a time constraint and see more stats.

Rage, Grow, Profit by Catblocker 2015-12-16T12:15:00

Haha oh man. The sound effects really made me laugh. "ouch". Great work!

Organ-izer by The Merge Conflicts 2015-12-15T17:23:00

Awesome! Really loved the feel of this game. The music, sound effects and art really bring it all together. Clever but simple gameplay. Great work!

Decay Dynamics by NotoriousFlex 2015-12-17T01:47:00

Wonderful artwork! The game is a bit overwhelming at first. Simple but difficult (maybe a little too difficult right off the bat). Great job!

Beetle Thomas by NuggetTeam 2015-12-15T17:16:00

Great art and neat idea! I did find it a little unclear at times how a particular obstacle would affect your dung (whether you needed to be big or small to pass it). great job!

Weed : The Incremental Game by Wicked7000 2015-12-16T12:12:00

A cool take on the idle game genre! It was satisfying to see my income growing along with my weed and balancing gardens to dealers. Great work!

Button Quest by Henez 2015-12-17T02:01:00

Awesome! I loved the boiled down RPG style. Progression felt quick and satisfying and gameplay was super easy to get into. Great job!

Dude On Fire by voca 2015-12-17T01:53:00

I like it! Very cute art and music. Love the way he rolls. Only complaint is that I'm not sure why it is such a skinny portrait layout. It feels like an unfair restraint to have such a limited view. I had fun with it though, great job!

Tailwind by synthetic-entropy 2015-12-15T17:39:00

I liked it. The art style nice, it worked well and I liked the fact that you could see your previous runs.

One thing that I found annoying was that I would often crash into the wall and then I would crash several more times while trying to get out of it. I think reorienting the player after a crash would be helpful

Famous Bus Movie Game by BuffaloPhil 2015-12-16T11:47:00

Awesome! Simple, fun and intense. I love the striking flat visuals and tense music. The first time my bomb triggered I wasn't sure what caused me to go below 50. But overall awesome work!
