LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Personal Valley by Backterria 2015-12-15T18:59:00

Really nice graphics and amazing how much content you managed to create.
The controls quickly became very tedious though, and the flashing of the building while inside was hurtful to look at, it would probably be better to leave it at the white/inside sprite instead.

FEED ME! by Transmit 2015-12-14T14:58:00

Nice game, a little interrupting when exiting to one side and the whole worm/snake/creature is teleported to a small spot. Also the fact that the body isn't affected by gravity makes it look a bit weird and promotes shallow jumps to keep your body in the air, killing everything that moves past.

Momma's Little Monster by dalbinblue 2015-12-15T17:53:00

Really nice and cozy, the fall speed felt a bit sluggish but the game was fun.

99 Steps by George 2015-12-14T17:04:00

Good game, feels polished and the graphics fit together really well

QM Snake by Thepattybeast 2015-12-14T16:32:00

Quite nice, the graphics were a bit confusing with the 2d map and the 3d world behind it, better to choose one of them. Controls were confusing but I don't know if it's the good or bad kind of confusion.

A Subtle Dispute by TheSteveIAm 2015-12-14T16:27:00

Nice game, good player feedback. Didn't understand what the globes in the top corners did though.

MineCo by UnraveledMnd 2015-12-14T14:33:00

Nice concept, the windows download isn't complete though.

Some balancing issues that currently make the game boring in the long run and the popup for building things reacted to the click that opened it which was problematic but a nice concept and quite clear graphics and hud after finding all the parts.

Unknown by Eshford 2015-12-14T15:55:00

Really nice game!

Got into a nice rhythm after a little bit and then miss one button and it's completely ruined. Great time.

The sound effect for pressing the X button sounds like I'm failing which makes me feel like I shouldn't have done that after pressing it. Otherwise great.

Heart & Soul by jorgemoag 2015-12-14T17:09:00

Really nice but very hard to play alone, feels like it could be a good coop game with something to enforce the need for communication.

Great Nation by StuffBySpencer 2015-12-15T18:28:00

Really well done, feels solid and like high quality work.

Aaaaah! Crows! by Todnut 2015-12-14T16:54:00

Liked it, felt like I had everything under control and then I suffered a massive murder of crows and lost in a minute. Good time.

Meatlings by Zetym 2015-12-14T16:07:00

@jamaster96 :( I tried and it crashes firefox for me too. Unfortunately we don't have time to debug it because of work/school/life. It works in chrome and downloadable for windows. If you check back in a few days we should have published an apk-version on our website, www.funklift.com

@chriiis88 We thought it would be enough to hint at different combinations giving different scores and letting the player get the fun of exploring, but it might have been good to include some example combinations.

@MrDave Currently it is best to only select one type of animal. We had plans to include more types and have some combinations with those give more points but we didn't have the time for more content.

Thanks for playing and rating everyone, we will publish a downloadable .apk on our website www.funklift.com as soon as our pr-guy gets around to writing a better description.

Meatlings by Zetym 2015-12-14T16:16:00

@Thepattybeast thought I had fixed the resolution issue in the desktop version. Checked it out and the link pointed to an older build. I have updated the windows download so if you want to play the game you can try the new download link.

Dashing Cubes by BUNN1E5 2015-12-14T14:45:00

Interesting concept, could be more user friendly by having a default level, one button per level, or popping up an error message when clicking start without choosing a level instead

O Christmas Tree by EthanWebster 2015-12-14T15:33:00

Nice, would like hotkeys for selecting seeds, water or trowel though.

Good job doing it in c++ with SFML in such short time.

Dragonic by jsmars 2015-12-15T17:32:00

Nice graphics and solid gameplay, the growing mechanics were confusing at first as I first noticed them by hitting a mushroom, thinking I somehow consumed and grew. I was then surprised to see that I had taken damage as I didn't notice when it happened.
Nice game but more feedback about what happens would be great.

No Space For Cows by concalf 2015-12-15T17:40:00

Nice game, a little repetitive after a while though.
The red, pointy things that spawned upon you and the super fast meteorites felt unfair as there was no way to notice them and try to do something about them before they hit you, meaning unavoidable damage.

Slimevasion by mar3k 2015-12-14T16:47:00

The game was nice but it took a little while to figure out how to go through the door to next level.
Managed to find a yellow gun and after using it couldn't move for a second or two which was frustrating as it didn't seem to be better than the previous gun.

Your City by Flygamer101 2015-12-14T15:08:00

Feels like an interesting game, but really hard to play as there is no information on what each tile does, and no tile names that could hint about what it does.
Also quite buggy with detecting which tile is under the cursor and when moving the camera, changing which tiles are active can be nice from a performance perspective but it also makes the tiles inside the viewport momentarily disappear and show the background instead.
The section of active tiles doesn't expand to accomodate zooming out either which leaves an island of tiles with the skybox visible around it.

One Man Spaceship by MrDave 2015-12-14T16:40:00

Nice game, liked the gearbox but the audio took away from the overall experience.

The Organization by Somnium 2015-12-14T15:43:00

It was interesting, but some of the events were weirdly composed(like paying funds to lose funds or similar). Very slow and it almost went good when just approving all decisions without reading them.
Would like a slightly higher pace and two different decisions instead of "Do something" and "Do nothing"

ANTI-THUNDER by jamaster96 2015-12-14T15:26:00

Failed to see the challenge, what is that prevents (or should prevent) it from being pure button mashing?

Also missing a restart/back to menu button. Having to restart the executable to start a new round is a drag.

Feed Your Queen by stargardengames 2015-12-15T20:39:00

Solid gameplay but a bit easy as you can just spam shots to kill enemies quickly. Liked the music, it was relaxing and comfy but didn't take focus from the game. The cymbal hit did however take away from that feeling and overall felt a bit misplaced.

Feed the Queen by sitronTe 2015-12-14T16:34:00

Felt a bit sluggish, and the text was really hard to read. Otherwise quite nice.

Vampires suck! by chriiis88 2015-12-14T16:59:00

Quite fun. The bloodmeter drained a little fast when using vampire vision though so it's hard to use it without losing.

Wildly Growing by Diventurer 2015-12-15T21:00:00

Really nice, excessive number of fish though. It was really hard to know which direction I moved in the first stage, and to know what I could eat. Also felt weird being something that looked like an armoured shark and still getting food from algae.
Would also like more feedback that showed if it's me eating the other fish of if I should flee as I'm being used as a chewing toy.
I'm not sure if the last stage(4+upgrades, not gonna spoil it) was fun or not, the rest of the game felt very cohesive.
