I really liked the feel for this game. At first I was just casually cruising around in my spaceship shooting asteroids and the random bug. But as I got farther NW things got pretty hectic. Balancing the need for shooting things to collect powerups and just moving on to conserve energy made for some tough decisions.
Graphics, music and overall feel were good. Well done!
A few suggestions: You could make the bars with the power, health and shields a lot smaller. Hitting enemies when they were in the lower left was really difficult. I wasn't sure how I would get missiles sometimes and then have them disappear. Maybe a counter that says how many are left? A little number by the crosshairs would be easy to see and not visually distracting, since I was looking there anyway.
Bugs: A couple of times my controls froze up. Not sure what happened or why they came back, but once was in the middle of a big fight.
Great game! I loved the enemies missles. Super creepy.

Ha ha ! Too more shooters and you're far away from home. XD Nothing to say about art, nor sound (except music is a little repetitive and fire shots a little loud, but, hey, that's a jam). I was a little confused with the not friendly ships, because I didn't understand what to do next, until I find other ones and they kill me, so I didn't see farther. For what I've seen, good job !
Not bad. Liked the different powerups. Some bullets were weird when you were faster then them. Hard to maintain energy but that is the point.
Liked the music and the slidey-floaty physics were really fun. Nice space game, be proud!

Thanks for the nice comments! The ammo is actually unlimited, you can change weapons by picking up new ones though.
About controls freezing, this is an issue when playing in Chrome. Please try Firefox or download Windows version.
The music is fantastic in this game! This felt a bit like a bullet hell game where i had to watch how much i moved, which is a cool concept. I would make the UI elements smaller so they don't obstruct too much of the screen. Good work!

This is one of those games I had to give a second chance to, it was better the second time. I agree with @peachtreeoath that its like a bullet hell, it has an interesting twist though.

I liked the gameplay but I didn't like that the UI covers a lot of your screen perhaps you could use different corners and/or alpha.

Nice! The space is full of danger with some peculiar parts ^^
I liked the gameplay, though I didn't realize that the other flying things were enemies. Other then that, it was pretty easy to pick up.

Cool Idea, Just i would change the transparency on the UI so you have a better view of everything, collisions are sometimes a bit buggy also. Good Effort though!

@bruins, thanks for the feedback. We agree on the UI. You mentioned that collisions are a bit buggy, we haven't experienced that our selves. Did you play in Chrome or Firefox?

Pretty full-fledged Asteroids clone with a bit of intro dialog.
Likes: - whoa, real music - whoa, real 3d graphics - ship movement, explosions, shields, weird aliens... it all looks sweet - plays quite well, nicely done
Try differently: - I can use my gamepad to fly, but not to aim. :( I can haz dual stick controls? - why is there a wall in space, and it doesnt affect enemies nor projectiles - I can click really fast on the mouse. That means I can shoot really fast (doesn't consume enough power?)
Overall: - rock solid jam entry, well done - I enjoyed playing this a lot - music and sound makes games so much better
Feels good, def the UI a bit too big and maybe the Power goes down a bit too quick, but looks great and feels great :alien:

@thygrrr, great feedback, we actually had all those things in mind, but not enough time.

Classic theme, but I had fun, good game, nice music, thank you!
The alien bugs are cool looking! Sometimes I wasn't sure if I was actually dealing damage to some of the ships because there wasn't any (noticeable) sound or particle effect from them. The music was pretty cool if repetitive. Another thing that would be nice (although this is just me being really picky) is that the player's ship should either have thrusters on all sides or a gun that rotates separately from the body (like a tank turret) since a ship like that with thrusters only in the back wouldn't be able to fly backward or side to side, only forward. But stuff like that doesn't really matter in a Ludum Dare I suppose, so good job! I definitely enjoyed this one! It did get a bit crazy after a bit, but not impossible.
As everyone said, the GUI is a bit big. Apart of that, the game and the controls feel good, although it's a bit difficult. The missiles in particular were too slow (slower than the ship!).
Good impression overall!
Controls feel great! Nice soundtrack as well. The theme is pretty basic, but it's well executed. Good job for a 3 day jam!
Looks nice, but that controls confuse me on start. But overall it`s nice game.
Really interesting to play! good job
The models were great and I loved the music. If you timed your non missile shots with the drum you made a really cool beat  I liked the way the ship handled, it was floaty but that was good because there is no friction in space. all in all it was a great game and I have fun playing it.

Music and graphics are great. The gameplay is pretty good, feels very spacey.
Amazing environment and space style! The overall idea was great.
However, even if I've enjoyed the game and had fun, it was to many moments with nothing to do (there was nothing in the screen, i was just wasting power). However the combat was exciting, so great work and good luck!
Pretty fun game. I like how the movement of the spaceship feels, the effects like explosion and shields look nice, the "game feel" in general is quite good. The music is also great. I personaly like the design of the spaceships, some of them reminded me of some insects and animals haha
I've seen some people asking for dual joystick gameplay, I join the suggestion! Good game :)

A solid space shooter. I did enjoy it, although the story interruptions were a bit too much for me, because they break the flow the action. The controls are great, as well as the art. I agree that this game really needs dual stick controls.
Nice work!

Cool game ! But I regret the size of the GUI, I would advise to reduce it / add alpha component to it . Congrats !

So I started playing, it was fun. After some time I figured that you can spam left click and then it was really fun. Since I'm too lazy to click the mouse myself I wrote a few lines of code and then it was too fun. Liked the variety of weapons and enemies. Nice music. Good work!
Good work on the asset creation side of things, there's a ton of nice looking 3D models that all have pretty unique functions. The game mechanics were fun and the entire experience was pretty fun. I just thought that there could have been a stronger conclusion in the end. I may have not even had much of a story and just had four bases in northeast, southeast, northwest and southwest, and to find and kill all the enemies.
This game is cool! The movement and the shooting felt very good, and the music was awesome! Obviously those rockets you have by default are supposed to not be very good, and you're supposed to find the powerups, but I think it would be nice if they were just a little bit faster.

The energy dropped a bit too fast for me. It was a bit strange that some enemies didn't drop energy as well, it made it seem a little worthless to kill them instead of dodging them. I had trouble figuring out where to go, other than the direct hints you gave. IT would have been nice to have a gameplay element pushing me in the right direction. The gameplay otherwise was fun and the graphics were amazing. Well done!

The graphic of the game is amazing. When the player shot a big asteroid, it is destroyed into smaller asteroids. It is so nice. Collecting things from shot asteroids or aliens is also really nice. Different kind of guns means keep the game more fun for me.
The aliens are so amazing by graphic and also that the main aliens produce small aliens. So good idea!
I don't like the control of the ship. I would prefer if the control of arrows would be according to ship view and not according to space.
The game is really fun and I enjoyed the game. Great job!

Had a lot of fun with this game, it kinda evolved as you were cruising around shooting enemies and asteroids, suddenly things gets intense, very intense.
It was a little hard knowing where to go, it took me some time to progress to next stage. Maybe a little indicator of where to go, other than the message to go to north east, would help this a bit, especially when getting to the next stage.
Other than that I liked the graphics, music and the whole atmosphere, nice work.
Wow! Solid ld Entry! Interesting game, easy to figure out how to play and how the mechanics works. Not that hard, but not easy! (literally not! and I like it!). My only suggestion (if you want some feedback) is to make the HUD smaller, to make the player better visualize the scene.
Good job! :D

graphics look great! audio is great! the controls locked up on movement and shooting ruining it for me every time i tried to play. that being said, it was very fun when it was working properly. it took me a while to find energy, maybe some type of tut at the very start to at least point to the asteroid and say shoot this. i guess it just looked to big to take out at first. The ui is too large. the power bar drained way to fast. especially when the controls were locked. The enemies were good. the firepower was good. the concept was good. the controls were good when they worked. good theme and mood. I kinda liked the bullet-hell open world thing you've got going on here. I've got a similar game in the works that uses twin-stick rather than mouse... but the mouse is a nice touch if people don't have a game controller. great job with that! really If you iron out the controller issue this could be a really great game!!
***edit*** after scrolling past where you clearly state not to use it on chrome i tried again on firefox and had a much better experience and thus changed my rating. a few more things. some bullets move slower than the ships top speed, that's no fun. I felt more caged this time as I explored further would have liked a more open world. sometimes there was too many pickups floating around, then there would be nothing around. so it was kinda random what to expect. this is how i ran out of energy. The first boss wasn't very difficult, but it was the first boss. I didn't get to see if there was a second. I was impressed that the game held up with so much stuff floating around. seemed very well optimized. great work on a fun and very playable game!

The movement felt quite nice and the music was fitting. The visuals were decent as well, however it would be nice if holding the mouse button resulted in quicker autofire, since I had to click it constantly manually to fire faster but that was just a minor issue.

I liked the atmosphere for this game, especially due to the music and background visuals. Gameplay was okay, and I was okay with the ship controls as well. But I found it quite hard, and after dying twice in the middle of the second stage I didn't feel like going through Stage 1 all over again. Also, I found it quite laggy on stage two when there were alot of enemies, and I was using Firefox 54.
I think it would've helped if * there was some minimap or indicator showing us where to go * there was a checkpoint system so players wouldn't have to start over when they lose
Other than that, great job on this entry!

Great game that was fun to play, and the various enemies, weapon power ups and that great music really added to it :) Was also interesting being able to explore and find the boundaries and for hints to progress.
It's interesting that the standalone version plays so much better than the web somehow, glad I tried it afterwards.

I really like the design of the enemies. They are gorgeous
I loved the game. It would make sense to make the bars smaller as it was hard to hit enemies there.
This was a pretty fun game but I found the straight-up gray wall blocking you from leaving the arena to be a bit weird. This would require more camera scripting but it might be more ideal to have the camera stop moving when it hits an invisible wall (a la Mario reaching the end of a level). Otherwise, I enjoyed the shooting and scavenging mechanics. Great work!
