Am I the only one who thinks this game is like "Night in the Woods" meets "The Groundhog Day"? I love it! The art style is unique, the sound effects and music are good and the idea is very original.
The duration is perfect for a compo/jam game, but I didn't see the theme in there (maybe when you fix the music box is when you loose power??), still a great game!
Good job!
I love the graphics and particles you made and I'm impressed that you made all this by your own with just 2 days :O Congratulations!
Sometime I couldn't really understand what was going on in the screen and I see a lot of people is having the same issue. I would suggest to lower a bit the screenshake (my brain got so shaked xD) and maybe make a zoom in betwen the two you are using (I felt one was to far away to understand the game and the other too close to imagine what was going on outside the camera area).
Apart from that, congratulations on your game, the game feel and the art are very well achived!
The graphics are nice and simple and the gameplay is so intuitive, sound design is correct (the music needs to be a bit better to be as good as the rest of the game), very polish game overall and has great details like the particles.
My only suggestion would be to clean a bit the screen, sometimes is difficult to see the bullets since there is a lot of elements and movement.
Overall a great great game! Really enjoyable to play. Impressive work for just one person and two days. Congrats!!
It amazes me how a single person can do all this work in just 2 days. The idea is great and really well executed, the art style is simple but works perfectly with the mood of the game and the good sound effects. One of the best ideas I've seen in this jam. Congratulations!!
Very interesting game, I really like it. It's quite confusing the first minutes of the game, but when you start undertanding what to do it becomes a different game. The music and art style are impressive, well done! Plus I haven't found any bug or error except that the game doesn't go full-screen.
I would suggest to write a bit of a tutorial or explanation, it doesn't have to be too long, and I would give a bit more feedback about what the objects you find in the wasteland do (what resource you are going to get).
Overall an excelent game! Congratulations!!
Nice game! It took me some time to figure out how to play it correctly, but then it was a fun strategy game. I think the difficulty level is really tighly balanced, I couldn't get to the safe zone but every new play I was closer to it. The sound effects create a nice atmosphere along with the art style. Good job, congratulations!
What an incredible game, guys! I loved it! It felt a bit frustrating at first but I had to kept playing, it's adictive. The gameplay is very polished, the graphics are well acomplished and the sound fits with the aesthetics. Such an innovative idea and perfectly executed. Excelent game!
Really cool and crazy idea. I was interested to see why you were asking me to choose an image, then I was really surprised to see what the game was using it for. It's the first time I see something like this! Great experience!
Although we did not have any problem with the character movement, my teammate and I had a bit of connectivity issues at the beginning of the match, once one of us killed the other the game appeared to disconnect us and the rivals character stayed in one single position for the rest of the game.
But as I said, the game on local worked fine (the trees are a bit unpredictable but I think that's a fun part of the game) and the art style look great, big fan of the chromatic aberration filter you used on the corners. It's a risky and brave move to make a mutliplayer game for a gamejam, for the moment it doesn't really work on multiplayer but I'll keep checking you page for future updates :)
The art is great! The boomerang is cool, saldy the movement is broken :/ Fix it soon and will play it again!:)
Nice graphics, the light effects are great. I really liked that the camera is always fixed in one direction and that the level design has to adapt to that idea. Cool game and nice experience! :)
Damn... that game art <3 I fell in love with it the first second. Really like the idea and love that you made a local competitive game. The audio and music set very well the mood and joins the aesthetics. Plus I haven't found any bug, works completly fine :)
My two suggestions are that I think the player 2 controls are a bit weird (the lower key is to move right, maybe you could set it to "ijkl") and I'd love to see a bit more content, like more maps maybe? (although it's completly understandable you made just one map for a 3 days jam).
Really well done guys! Congratulations!
Good game! I like the concept of political/social power, we did something similar with my team, it even plays like your game haha.
I really liked the simplicity in the design, easy to understand but demands your concentration to beat the game. I liked the silly sentences like "Hospital or whatever..." haha. Also, it was cool to see how the people gets closer to you when the public unrest gets higher.
My two suggestions for the game would be to put some sound effects and music, and to create a win/lose screen to be a more satisfactory game.
Great game! Congratulations!!
It took me a few plays to understand how the game worked, but once I got it it was fun. The sound and art are fantastic. Well done balancing the various mechanics, and cool concept. I loved the frankenstein-y atmosphere! Great game!
Very well presented, great polish. It's really pretty, I really liked the visual style, great color palette and use of ilumination and particles. Also, great sound effects, the wall jump is great and the double jups feels perfect. Good thing the "power" wasn't a bar at the top of the screen, instead being indicated with the character's aura. My only suggestion would be to not restart the music in each level, maybe would've been better to let it play all the way and start over when finished.
Overall, nice platformer with great movement and level design and a unique art style.
Felicitats!
PD: Veig que sou de Barcelona, espero que estigueu tots bé!
**Update Note:** - Now it is possible to see the results of the game: who was the mutineer (in case you lose) and who were all the members of your crew (if you succeed).
- The player can choose to execute a sailor anytime in the game, so you don’t have to wait 5 days if you know who the mutineer is.
- We’ve changed the font. The new one is quite a bit more readable.
- This new build works at both 32 and 64 bit computers.
- We have removed the unfinished language option.
- We have correctly set the game icon.
This is an extra update post-jam, so remember it doesn’t have to affect on your ratings!
Loved the art style and the idea! I made about 1000$ on my second play. I think the game need a more clear feedback, but it's very positive experience! :)
Great little game! I didn't expect that a game that simple could offer that much fun :D You guys really worked on the art style, game feel and feedback of the game, it has a lot of details! Really enjoyed the sound effects! Congratulations!
Pretty fun game. I like how the movement of the spaceship feels, the effects like explosion and shields look nice, the "game feel" in general is quite good. The music is also great. I personaly like the design of the spaceships, some of them reminded me of some insects and animals haha
I've seen some people asking for dual joystick gameplay, I join the suggestion! Good game :)
Amazing game! Full of surprising details. It amazes me how it can be so fun, adorable and creepy at the same time. Loved the art style, well done sound effects that really set the mood and one of the best ideas I've seen in this jam. Congratulations!! :D
Great game! I enjoyed it very much!
I really liked the idea of having to move around the mech to use the different parts of it, the game is controlled perfectly and the music and art style set the mood of the game so well!
Btw, is your titan design based on the titants from "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind"?? It reminded me a lot to them :D
Congratulations!!
@michaeltwg ok, now I see that "titan" is the giant robot. I thougt it was the name of the monsters, sorry :P
Anyway, this is what I was talking about: https://newanimethursday.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/screen-shot-2011-12-19-at-6-27-07-pm.png
Really liked the graphics, the sound and music. The animation and the pixel art are amazing for such a short period of time. It's cool to see beat'em ups, one doesn't get those to often nowadays haha Cool to play a mature but satiric world like they use to make in the 90s. The combat sistem is too simplistic (but its understandable for a jam), I would love to see a bit more depth in there!
Overall it's a cool game, you should be proud!
