Very cool idea! A bit confusing, though. Took me a few tries to understand what was going on. Also, for some reason batteries kept spawning inside walls.

Good job!

Quite a unique and trippy (in a good way) combination of elements :)

I love this kind of game! Really fun, great job!

Really cool and crazy idea. I was interested to see why you were asking me to choose an image, then I was really surprised to see what the game was using it for. It's the first time I see something like this! Great experience!

Using Qix (I like to go to the source) to generate fps levels. Quite an interesting idea this and it even works.

The shotgun is very inconsistent for some reason though. At times the images take a single shot to shatter. Other times good 5+ hits. Seems to have something to do with distance and whether the image has been activated yet or not.

Good work.

TIL: I'm TERRIBLE at Wolfenstein-style level design. It took me quite a bit before I made a level I could actually beat, but I had fun dying repeatedly.

It's actually a little unsettling running from Images because there's usually a chorus of the weird wibbly-wobbly-Imagey noise from all around and I can never tell if there's one creeping up from behind.

This is shockingly complex and shockingly fun. I approve.

Nice idea here! Totally different from other games, I like it. I feel the shotgun feels a little bit strange, sometimes it has a good range and sometimes it is waaay to short.

I really like the idea, and great job getting everything working in 72 hours! It's quite impressive. Each mode is quite simple, but meshed together, creates a really unique and fun experience. Seeing how the level generated the first time you press fire was quite cool.

The main problem is the disconnect between the mini game generating the level, and the actual fps game-play. The Qix side of things should have more of an effect on how the game plays out. For example, trapping the ball in as small of a space as possible should lead to some sort of benefit or reward. Additional mechanics would have helped too, such as having spots on the board that you might want to avoid filling in, which would lead to additional enemies or traps in the level.

As of right now, it just seems like a sort of gimmicky level editor, where the Qix and the FPS mode don't really mesh or connect together. Which is a shame, since it's a great idea.

Overall, A solid entry! The entry has great promise, and I'd love to see it as a more fleshed out game!

Positives: - Really interesting idea having one game that generates a level for another - definitely one of the most original I've seen in the games I've tested so far - I'd love to see this taken further (and it might have given me a few ideas ;)

Opportunities for improvement: - There was a lack of connection between the 2d mode and the 3d mode in terms of my motivation - it would have been cool if players are playing the 2D mode in a particular way to try and make the 3D level in a certain way, but they felt kind of random and disconnected - I didn't quite get the rules of the 2D mode or what was meant by trying not to trap the ball - the ball that was bouncing around didn't seem to have any effect on anything, and sometimes the level just started up? When it said I could press the fire button to start the level, I didn't really understand why the choice was given to me - It was an unintuitive start having to enter an address for an image with no Browse... window. Ended up alt-tabbing to copy paste something from a browser. Would have been good to include a bunch of images in the game to avoid the slow start.

Overall though - really interesting, good job :)

Really cool game! It's very refreshing to see a technically interesting entry while testing Ludum Dare games. A file browser would've been great, but other than that, I really enjoyed playing this one. Being able to pick my own image really added a personal level to the game, which really makes this excellent.

Very interesting concept! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eXpztmcl_M
