Oct 18 21:08:31 Fire Already!! ♥ 1 Wow, the hand-drawn pencil art style is absolutely phenomenal! The animations of the hands and the wife checking in on the progress add so much character and humor to the game. It perfectly captures that "frustrating AEKI assembly instructions" vibe! The core mechanic fits the "Old Tech" theme beautifully — rubbing a stick to make fire is as old school as it gets! I encountered some trouble actually getting the fire to start (maybe my Cro-Magnon friction skills need some work, or the balancing is a bit too hardcore!), but the overall presentation, animations, and aesthetic are top-notch for a Compo entry. Awesome work, thanks for the experience! If you have a minute, please check out my ASMR retro-tech cleaning game too!
Oct 18 21:13:59 5m 28s BOSSFIGHT98.EXE ♥ 2 The concept of fighting against a cursed Windows 98 computer is absolutely brilliant! Bringing classic apps like Minesweeper, Pinball, and Arkanoid to life as boss attacks is a fantastic interpretation of the "Old Tech" theme. The visual style and retro OS atmosphere are spot-on for a Compo game. It felt quite chaotic and hardcore at first, and it took me a moment to realize I needed to dodge the Arkanoid/Minesweeper elements while shooting back at the monitor to cause a BSOD! The difficulty curve is a bit steep, but the creativity behind the boss phases is awesome. Great job with this entry! If you have some time, I’d love for you to check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too!
Oct 18 21:20:58 6m 59s 8:59 ♥ 1 The atmosphere in this game is incredible! That subtle retro line noise and audio static create such a cozy, immersive environment. The visual style of the phone book on the left combined with the row of rotary phones looks awesome and fits the "Old Tech" theme perfectly. Nailing the phone number and seeing the handset lift up with that garbled voice on the line felt super satisfying — great attention to detail! The time limit is quite brutal though, as I ran out of time right after my first successful call before I could figure out the rest. A bit stressful, but highly addictive and atmospheric for a Compo game! Wonderful job! If you get a chance, I’d be thrilled if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too!
Oct 18 21:26:27 5m 29s You... Bastet ♥ 1 The intro cutscene where the cat looks left and right is absolutely adorable! The animations are so fluid and full of character, which makes the whole possessed alley cat concept shine. The pixel art and the ancient Egyptian power plant theme look amazing for a 48-hour solo project. It is definitely a hardcore platformer! I think I fell on the spikes at least 10 times in the first couple of minutes, but despite the high difficulty, the controls feel responsive (the wall dodge and crouching are nice mechanics). It's quite challenging, but definitely beatable for those who love high-stakes platforming! Fantastic work! If you have some free time, I’d be super happy if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game as well!
Oct 18 21:34:57 8m 30s Charlotte's Balloonatic ♥ 1 This is such a beautiful, poetic, and incredibly cozy game! The pixel art style is stunning, and the sight of Charlotte and her bunny in that pink balloon floating above the clouds is absolutely magical. The core mechanic of managing the burner heat to catch different wind currents at various altitudes is brilliant and fits the "Old Tech" theme in a very heartwarming way. The audio design and the gentle background music create a wonderful, meditative ASMR-like atmosphere where you can just drift away and get lost in the skies. I couldn't get very far on my first few flights because balancing the altitude and reading the windsocks takes some serious pilot skills, but the physics feel smooth and the entire presentation is incredibly polished for a Compo entry! Wonderful, heartwarming work! If you have a free moment between flights, I'd be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator as well!
Oct 18 21:40:10 5m 13s Medieval Hotline ♥ 1 The concept of being a medieval telephone operator is incredibly unique and witty! Merging a retro old-fashioned switchboard mechanics with fantasy resource management is a brilliant way to interpret the "Old Tech" theme. The hand-drawn pencil sketches of the castles and the dragon look absolutely beautiful and packed with style. I have to admit, I got a bit confused by the interface and controls at first, and it felt a little non-intuitive to figure out how to plug the cords correctly while juggling all the kingdom's resources (or maybe I'm just too exhausted after the jam!). However, the core loop and the overall presentation are fantastic for a Compo entry. Great job on creating such a stylized game! If you have some time after managing the kingdom's chaos, I’d be absolutely thrilled if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too!
Oct 20 11:51:14 38h 11m Scrap Treasure ♥ 0 Wow, "Scrap Treasure" is an absolute masterpiece for a 48-hour Compo game! The gameplay is top-notch — dismantling old TVs and devices on the desk, moving parts to the inventory, and routing wires feels incredibly satisfying and polished. About 70% of the mechanics felt super intuitive and easy to understand just by experimenting with the objects. The synthwave soundtrack is outstanding! It immediately gave me those cozy Stranger Things Season 1 retro vibes, which perfectly matches the late-night workshop atmosphere. Brilliant work! Thank you for creating this. Also, thank you so much for playing and rating my game, and for the valuable feedback about the manual rotation feature — I really appreciate it! Good luck with the jam! 🛠️📟🔋✨
Oct 20 12:01:43 10m 29s Meow Bomb! ♥ 5 The concept of a kitten assembling an atomic bomb to take out dogs is absolutely hilarious and brilliant! I’m currently on Linux and haven’t set up my Windows compatibility layers yet, so unfortunately, I couldn't run the .exe build directly. However, I just had to stop by because the screenshots look phenomenal! The visual style is top-notch — I love the cozy voxel 3D room with the old CRT monitor on the desk, and contrasting it with a hand-drawn 2D cat paw as the player perspective is pure genius. It gives the game so much indie charm and humor. Left high ratings based on your awesome presentation, art direction, and stellar theme interpretation! Thank you so much for playing and rating my game, I really appreciate your support. Best of luck to the whole team! 🐱💣💥
Oct 23 19:57:01 79h 55m Steam Locomotive ♥ 0 This is such a charming and atmospheric train simulator! As a huge fan of "The Big Bang Theory", this game instantly made me feel like Sheldon Cooper in his ultimate happy place — driving a real steam locomotive! 🚂 Steam trains are just magnificent, aren't they? The low-poly landscapes flashing outside the window look absolutely beautiful, and the overall geometry of the locomotive feels simple yet very pleasant. The core gameplay loop is super interesting, though it’s quite hardcore! I loved interacting with the mechanical levers and the firebox, but I have to admit, I struggled a lot with the water and fuel pumps. I couldn't quite figure out the correct timing for the water pump and kept failing, but even with the steep difficulty curve, the overall experience felt really cozy and engaging. Great job for a first jam entry! Also, thank you so much for your awesome comment on my game, I really appreciate it! Best of luck with the ratings! BAZINGA! 🌾✨
Oct 23 20:08:43 11m 42s I Don't Even Knit, or Olde Castle ♥ 0 The main character and their animations are absolutely lovely! The visual aesthetic is really cute, and I liked the creative choice of keeping the background monochromatic while using color for the important items — it made the game very clean and readable. The spinning wheel concept is a wonderful take on the "Old Tech" theme. The platforming feels okay, though the game layout could use a bit more speed or dynamic action to keep the player engaged. The complete absence of sound also makes the exploration feel a little lonely, but knowing from your dev log that you had to cut combat to hit the deadline, it’s a very commendable solo Compo effort! Thank you for creating this charming prototype! Also, thanks a lot for playing and rating my game, and for the great point about the pixel tint matching — I really appreciate your support! Good luck with your post-jam updates! 🧶🏰✨
Oct 23 20:24:57 16m 14s Steam buggy ♥ 0 The cover art for this game looks absolutely fantastic and instantly brings back that classic arcade nostalgia! It reminds me of the good old OutRun or Super Hang-On series. Conveying that pseudo-3D sense of hill curvature and valleys cooded in just about 24 hours is a serious technical achievement for a Compo entry! Balancing the speed to collect coal pieces adds a really unique tactical layer, rather than just holding down the gas pedal all the time. The difficulty is a bit steep since it's hard to react to other cars at top speed, but the overall loop and momentum feel great. Wonderful job! Thank you for the experience, and thanks again for stopping by and rating my retro-cleaning game! Good luck! 🏎️💨✨
Oct 23 20:38:18 13m 21s Bumper Cars Guy ♥ 0 Playing as the poor bumper car operator trying to save kids from traffic jams is such a brilliantly witty and innovative concept! It’s a fantastic, heartwarming take on the "Old Tech" theme. I always love seeing entries made with PICO-8, and the retro 8-bit visual style and particle effects here are super charming and polished. I mostly focused on looking at the gameplay loop from the gifs and description because it's a bit challenging to control everything smoothly without a mouse on my setup, but the behavioral mechanics between the cars and the chaotic arcade energy are clearly top-notch! The balance between collecting coins and rushing to push the kids away from jams creates an awesome risk-reward dynamic. Great job writing this in pure Lua without any AI! Thank you so much for playing and rating my game, and for the great suggestions about adding non-blowable parts and manual rotation — I really appreciate your feedback! Good luck with the voting stage! 🚗💥👦✨
Oct 23 20:54:56 16m 38s Textolite ♥ 1 Wow, "Textolite" is an absolute masterpiece for a Jam entry! The polish on this game is insane, and the controls feel incredibly responsive and smooth. I absolutely loved how the main character's head and gaze follow the mouse pointer — that attention to detail is brilliant! The level of juice in this game is incredible: the movement physics, the visual effects upon colliding with the environment, and the spiderwebs look beautiful. The music is an absolute bop; it fits the apocalyptic cyber-tech vibe perfectly! I managed to reach Stage 2, and while the difficulty spikes up quite heavily and becomes brutally challenging, the experience is amazing. The new enemy types — those creepy worms, swarms, and spiders — look spectacular! The procedural-like animations and the unique behavior of each monster make the battles feel super intense. This is easily one of the most polished and full-fledged games of the entire jam. Fantastic work by the whole team! If you get a break between fighting these tech-creatures, I’d be absolutely thrilled if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too! Good luck! 🕹️🐛🕸️⚡
Oct 23 21:13:34 18m 38s Apteka ♥ 0 I'm currently on GNU/Linux and noticed the downloads are currently disabled, so I had to evaluate the entry mostly based on the provided screenshots, gifs, and detailed loop description. The concept of a historical 1930s pharmacy simulator with a risk-reward loop (balancing the family purse vs GULAG fines) is certainly a solid and heavy narrative setup for a jam game. The reliance on old scales, manual grinding mechanics, and looking through reference books is a great way to interpret the "Old Tech" theme. I see there's a big discussion in the thread regarding English translation and LLM/AI assistance for communication — as someone facing a language barrier myself, I can understand using tools to translate feedback, but honest interaction is what makes the jam community great. The aesthetic and UI cohesion look very detailed for a 72-hour project. Thanks for checking out my game earlier, and good luck with the rest of the jam! ⚖️💊
Oct 23 21:22:43 9m 09s Dear Diary ♥ 1 This is such a lovely and incredibly nostalgic little package! I always have a huge soft spot for authentic Game Boy Studio entries (`.gbc` format), and it fits the "Old Tech" theme so perfectly. I have to admit, I got a bit confused on Itch.io at first and couldn't figure out how to make the protagonist move (or what keys to press to progress past the title screen). But once I read the description, clicked the screen, and figured out the `WASD` + `J` setup, everything clicked! The pixel art style is super clean and authentic, and the chiptune background music creates a wonderfully cozy, slightly melancholic atmosphere. The dialogue and narrative layout feel very compelling for a project made in just a few hours. Beautiful work! Thank you for the experience, and thanks a lot for stopping by my page and leaving a review for my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game, I really appreciate your support! Good luck with the ratings! 💾➿👾✨
Oct 23 21:36:42 13m 59s Pinball "Repair" SIMULATOR ♥ 0 The concept of combining classic arcade pinball with an emergency component-repair simulation is absolutely brilliant! Rubbing and smashing burning coils with a hammer while keeping an eye on the ball creates such an awesome, high-tension risk-reward dynamic for a Compo entry. I'm currently on Linux and couldn't easily test the build directly, but I spent a lot of time analyzing your gameplay loop, screenshots, and dev details. The attention to detail is staggering — using actual recorded audio samples from a vintage physical Williams Smart Set pinball machine adds a monumental layer of authenticity and pure old-school juice! The 3D view-switching between the board and the cabinet looks incredibly smooth, and the screen shake adds so much impact. Left very high ratings based on your stellar theme interpretation, innovative loop, and fantastic audio design! If you get a second between fixing those relays, I'd be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too. Good luck with the voting stage! 📺🔨👾✨
Oct 23 21:43:41 6m 59s Zwillenschuss ♥ 0 This looks like an incredibly fun and aesthetically pleasing 3D entry! The low-poly environment with the dense green grass, metallic crowbar on the left, and those clean spheroid-looking trees creates a wonderful, stylized visual presentation. Godot 4 and Blender make such a great combo for this style. The slingshot physics loop is super engaging, and honestly, the fact that you forgot to set a velocity limit in the code is pure gold! Shooting stones at absolute supersonic speeds and watching them ricochet off the environment is hilarious and satisfying to watch — it completely adds to the game's arcade charm. I agree with other comments that adding an ambient track, stretching elastic sounds, and solid hitting SFX would completely elevate the mood, but the core mechanic is solid and addictive for a 48-hour Compo. Awesome work putting this together! If you have a few minutes after clean-up on your target practice, I'd be absolutely thrilled if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too! Good luck with the ratings! 🎯💣👾✨
Oct 23 21:57:50 14m 09s The Old Techmongery ♥ 1 This looks like an incredibly high-quality and polished 3D entry for a solo Compo project! I’m currently on Linux and didn't have a chance to run the Windows executable directly, but I spent a lot of time checking out your awesome screenshots and the video walkthrough. The environment design is stunning! The level of detail you managed to pack into the shop in just 48 hours is amazing. The warehouse shelves, the terminal, the abstract product boxes, and especially the company logos look like they belong to a premium commercial game. The backstory about you working in a hardware store at 16 gives it such a cozy, genuine soul. The gameplay loop of fulfilling tech orders via the terminal is a perfect and very engaging interpretation of the "Old Tech" theme. It’s also hilarious to read about the 3 AM Blueprint debugging sessions in your updates — every jammer can relate to that! Fantastic work, this definitely deserves to be expanded into a full game. Good luck with the voting stage! 🛠️📦📺✨
Oct 23 22:06:40 8m 50s Operation MISSILES! ♥ 0 This is such a unique and addictive incremental defense concept! Integrating actual Morse code as the core shooting mechanic under time pressure is brilliant and fits the "Old Tech" theme perfectly. The minimalist radar visuals and the clicking sound design create a fantastic, tense atmosphere. The gameplay loop is highly engaging once you get the hang of it, though I have to agree with the general consensus in the thread about the onboarding. Having a long wall of text at the very beginning can be a bit overwhelming, especially with the language barrier. It's always best when the tutorial is integrated dynamically into the gameplay itself, letting the player learn by doing. However, knowing that this is your first Compo entry and you built it in just 48 hours (and spent day one rewriting ideas!), this is an incredibly polished and impressive result! Fantastic job making this 100% human-made without AI, the chaos is real! If you have a few free minutes after defending the skies, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too. Good luck with the ratings! 📡💥🕹️✨
Oct 23 22:17:51 11m 11s The Lost Rifleman ♥ 1 This is a really solid and atmospheric 3D entry for a solo Compo project! I played it directly in the web browser, and the combination of the dark environment, spooky background music, and excellent sound effects created an awesome, tense horror experience. The heavy linear black fog was a brilliant design trick to fake the darkness — it builds a fantastic "lost in the woods" vibe that keeps you on edge. The 3D low-poly assets and the sanity-draining mechanic look great. My only real critique is that the camera controls felt a bit too rigid; it would have been nice to have a wider field of view to look up and scan the surroundings more comfortably, especially since those ghosts love to sneak up on you! A sensitivity slider under the menu would completely solve this. However, the core loop is very polished and engaging for a 48-hour deadline. Fantastic work putting this together! Good luck with the voting stage and the ratings! 🌲 musket shots loaded 📡💥🕹️✨
Oct 23 22:25:00 7m 09s The Last Chance ♥ 0 The visual presentation and the pixel art style here are absolutely lovely! I really enjoyed the intro story scenes, and the cozy background music combined with jsfxr chiptunes creates a wonderful retro atmosphere. Using an old walkie-talkie and Morse-like alphabet commands to guide your family away from high-tech drones is a fantastic interpretation of the "Old Tech" theme. The gameplay loop might feel a bit simple or trivial once you get the hang of it, but for a 48-hour solo Compo project, it’s a highly commendable and polished entry! I ran into that strange Walkie-Talkie lock-up bug a couple of times while trying to coordinate the boats, but reading your updates, it's completely understandable since you had to push through while being sick. Getting a complete, working game out under those conditions is an awesome achievement! Great job putting this together completely from scratch! If you get a few minutes after saving your fleet, I’d be absolutely thrilled if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too. Good luck with the voting stage! 📻🛥️👾✨
Oct 23 22:31:57 6m 57s Tuny and Volty ♥ 1 This is such an incredibly charming, cozy, and well-thought-out puzzle entry! The premise of Tuny and Volty working together to bring music back to a silent forest after a blackout is beautiful, and the core mechanic of swapping between the cassette and the battery feels super clever and polished. I played it in the web browser, and even though I got a bit confused on the starting levels trying to figure out the exact optimal paths to progress, the atmospheric vibes completely won me over! The moment the radio pleasantly starts playing music is so satisfying, and seeing the musical notes light up the path at the end of a level is a really sweet touch. Designing and structuring 20 balanced levels completely alone during the 48-hour Compo window is a massive achievement! Left high ratings based on your brilliant loop design, great theme interpretation, and wonderful mood! If you have a free minute between restoring the forest's playlist, I'd be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too. Good luck with the voting stage! 📻🔋🔋✨
Oct 25 07:40:02 33h 08m Check the Piss ♥ 0 This is absolutely insane, incredibly creative, and easily the most unforgettable interpretation of the "Old Tech" theme! Combining the core loop of Papers, Please with a medieval taster's guild is pure dark comedy gold. The introductory ballad is an absolute masterpiece! It sets the tone perfectly and does a wonderful job explaining the premise right from the start. The visual quality of the illustrations and the choice of fonts look very stylish, perfectly capturing that Potion Craft aesthetic. The overall loop with the task lists and stamp system is quite solid. My only real critique is the controls — the pipette physics felt pretty tricky to figure out, and it was hard to transfer liquid cleanly into the beaker without spilling. Also, having a "Skip Intro" button would be a lifesaver for re-visits, as the opening is a bit long. But honestly, the hilarious theme and the pure absurdity of the profession completely overshadow the finicky physics. Phenomenal sense of humor, this was a blast! If you get a break from the guild's duties, I’d be super happy if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the ratings! 🧪🧼🍯✨
Oct 25 07:49:04 9m 02s Nightcall ♥ 2 This is an incredibly atmospheric, polished, and top-tier switchboard simulator! The dark noir mood, the glowing plugs, the tactile cord physics, and the rotary phone setup build an absolutely amazing and immersive experience. The gameplay loop is simple yet highly addictive. Navigating the paper directory using TAB, managing suspicious calls, and clearing lines with the oscilloscope puzzles are fantastic mechanics that fit the "Old Tech" theme flawlessly. The game feels very cohesive, and having multiple endings and full Russian localization is an incredible achievement for a jam project. It gets quite hectic and stressful during the later shifts as the difficulty ramps up heavily, but the overall tension keeps you totally hooked. The satisfying "clunk" sound of connecting wires is pure ASMR bliss! Phenomenal work by the team! If you get a quick break from patching all these noisy city exchange lines, I'd be absolutely thrilled if you could drop by my page and check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! ☎️📡🔌✨
Oct 25 07:59:24 10m 20s Love, Trash & Robots ♥ 1 This is an incredibly high-quality, ambitious, and premium-looking 3D entry! The sheer scale of the environment is fantastic — climbing onto those massive junk piles just to stare at the flashing city skyline in the background looks absolutely spectacular and effective. The story is hilarious and brilliant (digging through a landfill to rebuild your robot wife and restore the garden to save your marriage is top-tier dark comedy!). The core gameplay loop has a very satisfying, tactile ASMR feel when collecting and recycling scrap. The UI is beautifully made with great noticeboards and stations, though it can feel slightly overwhelming with instructions right at the start. However, the contrast between the cute robot, the roses, and the industrial cyberpunk dump creates an outstanding, unique mood. Phenomenal work by the team, this honestly feels like a commercial indie title! If you get a break from rebuilding your wife, I’d be absolutely thrilled if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🤖🧼🌹✨
Oct 25 08:19:28 20m 04s OUTRAIL ♥ 0 This is an incredibly high-quality, atmospheric, and mechanically deep Jam entry! Even though this isn't my usual genre, I was completely blown away by how fast the web build loads for a Unity project and how premium everything feels. The core concept of dismantling your own train cars on the fly just to gather wood and resources to keep the locomotive alive is absolute genius! The UI layout is incredibly rich with all the adaptive menus, stats, and furnace upgrade systems. Visually, the pixel art style is stunning — the dynamic weather conditions, the linear fog stretching across the moving wagons, and the rain effects look spectacular. Combined with the highly satisfying, rhythmic audio design of the train wheels clicking, it builds a phenomenal, addictive atmosphere. I agree with the thread that a quick text tutorial or introductory guide would be super helpful since there are so many complex stats (like weight and speed management) to track at once. But once you start experimenting, the loop completely sucks you in. Outstanding and highly ambitious work! If you have a free minute between managing your wagons, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🚂🌫️🌧️✨
Oct 25 08:27:50 8m 22s Old Ship Crane ♥ 0 This is an absolutely outstanding and highly atmospheric simulation! I am deeply impressed by how fast the web build loads for a 3D Unity project and how grand the scale of the sea feels — it truly makes you feel like you're out in the open ocean. The water pixel graphics are gorgeous, and that vintage PS1-era aesthetic is captured perfectly! The sound design of the crashing waves and the meditative music make the voyage incredibly immersive. I absolutely loved the mechanics: switching between exploring the deck in first-person and taking full control of the vessel using the "F" key is a brilliant design choice. Since operating both the boat and the heavy magnetic crane simultaneously can be quite complex and brutal, having the control hints always visible on the bottom-left of the screen is a wonderful, user-friendly life-saver! Navigating the flooded streets, clearing metal, and dodging whirlpool currents feels like a premium, polished indie title. Phenomenal work! If you have a free moment between salvaging old machines from the deep, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🚢🏗️🌊✨
Oct 25 08:36:02 8m 12s Kamchatka ♥ 0 This is an incredibly cozy, atmospheric, and heartwarming project! As a fan of Soviet aesthetics and Viktor Tsoi, the lo-fi instrumental arrangements of "Kino" songs on the tape reels completely won me over right from the start. The pixel art for the boiler room downstairs and the apartment interiors upstairs is visually stunning. The core gameplay loop is well-balanced and satisfying to manage without being brutally hardcore. However, I have to agree with the onboarding feedback: the game has quite a lot of text to read initially. It would be fantastic to see a dynamic, step-by-step tutorial integrated directly into the gameplay (learning by doing while tossing the first pieces of coal into the furnace). But once you figure out how the draft controls and radiator valves affect the building's temperature, the loop becomes super engaging! Gathering "comfort" points to unlock new tape tracks and heating upgrades is a brilliant mechanic. Magnificent work capturing that unique vintage winter vibe! If you have a free moment between your stoker shifts, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 📺🔥📻✨
Oct 25 08:42:40 6m 38s Jelly & Bones ♥ 0 This looks like an incredibly high-quality, polished, and technically mind-blowing Jam entry! I'm currently running an older setup on Linux (Debian 11) and my browser flagged a WebGL/WebGPU compatibility warning, so I couldn't run the build smoothly. However, I spent a lot of time analyzing your fantastic gifs and screenshots, and the visual feedback is absolutely stellar! The premise of adventurers turning into jiggly jelly skeletons because of a wizard's terrible sense of humor is hilarious and brilliant. Pulling off custom soft-body physics using vanilla JavaScript and WebGPU in just 72 hours is a massive technical triumph — watching those little cubes wobble and squeeze through mechanisms looks so satisfying. The built-in 3D level editor is also an amazing bonus feature. I noticed in the comments that you already updated the camera angles from isometric to top-down based on early player feedback — huge respect for being so responsive and fixing things so quickly during the voting phase! Outstanding work, this project has massive potential! If you get a quick break from your dungeon maintenance shift, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🧙‍♂️💎🦴✨
Oct 25 09:22:08 39m 28s Detech ♥ 0 This is an incredibly fun, dynamic, and punchy 3D action entry! The controls feel surprisingly responsive and smooth, which is highly impressive for a 72-hour jam project. The main character renderer is fantastic! This grumpy old mechanic with a mustache instantly reminded me of a hardcore version of Super Mario, especially with that massive wrench. Smash-combos on high-tech robots and watching nuts, bolts, and gold gears scatter all over the place feels extremely satisfying and addictive. The variety of tools is awesome — the grappling hook is a brilliant addition that adds so much mobility to the combat. I agree with the consensus that the industrial environments feel a bit empty compared to the high quality of the combat physics, and the UI could communicate the purpose of collected parts a bit clearer. But as a gameplay prototype, this feels incredibly complete and cohesive. 10 grandpas out of 10! Wonderful job putting this together! If you get a break between downgrading tech corporations, I'd be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🔧🤖💥✨
Oct 25 09:34:26 12m 18s The Blacksmith's Story ♥ 0 This is an incredibly impressive and visually stunning 3D Web entry! Building a fully realized 3D blacksmith workshop directly in the browser (looks fantastic, likely Three.js) is a huge technical achievement for a jam project. The attention to detail in the environment is great. I absolutely loved the interaction with the bellows — watching the fire in the forge physically grow and light up the room when you pump them feels so satisfying and punchy! The hands-on, multi-step crafting loop (heating the ingot, hammering it on the anvil, cooling it in the water basin, and assembling parts using the blueprint book) is an absolute masterpiece of an interpretation for the "Old Tech" theme. I have to admit, I got a bit confused with the overall gameplay progression at first and struggled slightly with the camera cursor-locking, so a small guided first order or tutorial would be a massive help for new players. But the core concept has so much polish and incredible potential! Wonderful job putting this together! If you get a break from hammering out swords at the anvil, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🔨🔥⚔️✨
Oct 25 09:45:32 11m 06s LiNX LiGHTSPEED ♥ 0 This is absolute PEAK platforming action! The movement mechanics feel incredibly snappy, responsive, and loop perfectly — running up walls, dashing into enemies, and maintaining that intense high speed is pure retro joy. Publishing directly on Newgrounds is an awesome legendary move, the game completely lives up to the platform's finest indie traditions! The pixel art and animations are gorgeous, and the low-bitrate soundtrack is a fantastic bop that gets you straight into the flow state. The plug-and-socket mechanic is such a clever, witty, and fresh interpretation of the "Old Tech" theme. Stretching that bendy wire around layout obstacles instead of using regular keys and locks is brilliant, and the coffee machine ending caught me totally off guard! Having the alternative A/S controls layout right on the title screen was a massive lifesaver for keyboard rollover issues. Phenomenal work by the team! If you get a break after fixing the fleet's espresso machines, I'd be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🔌⚡📺✨
Oct 25 09:53:17 7m 45s STORM, RADAR, SLOTS! ♥ 0 This is an absolutely wild, intense, and highly unique 3D concept! Mixing radar-based ship navigation with a literal slot machine on board during a chaotic sea storm is pure arcade genius. I’m currently on Linux (Debian 11) and haven't fully configured my Windows compatibility layers yet, so I couldn't run the .exe build directly. However, I spent a lot of time checking out your gameplay loops and compressed gifs, and the 3D models of the steering wheel, the radar screen, and that vintage slot machine lever look fantastic! For a constructive polish idea, I agree that the environment feels a bit too gray; adding dynamic lighting with bright lightning flashes illuminating the cabin during the storm would completely elevate the visual juice and mood! But the mechanics look incredibly snappy, and the tension of juggling between scanning for green bombs and pulling the slot arm for upgrades is an awesome risk-reward dynamic. Great job putting this chaotic experience together! If you get a quick break from steering through the minefields, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🚢⚡🎰✨
Oct 25 10:01:31 8m 14s Korobeinik ♥ 0 This is such a unique, authentic, and culturally rich shop-keeping puzzle! The 16th-century Moscow street market setting is an absolute masterpiece of an idea and a very fresh breath of air for a game jam entry. The visual style and the atmospheric background music are lovely and immediately draw you into the period mood. Using old trade hardware like balance scales, counterweights, and a Russian abacus as the core gameplay loop is a brilliant and clever interpretation of the "Old Tech" theme. I managed to figure out how to place the counterweights on the balance, but as a player, I struggled a bit with the overall progression afterward. The tutorial could definitely benefit from being a bit more visually intuitive, and some interactive objects on the counter slightly blend into the background, making them hard to distinguish. However, reading that you've already added an onboarding sequence during the jam based on early feedback is highly commendable! A very solid, educational, and creative project built on Phaser. Fantastic job! If you get a break from serving your merchants and strelets, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! ⚖️🪙🌾✨
Oct 25 10:15:33 14m 02s Dirigible ♥ 0 This is a really neat and solid simulation concept for a solo Compo project! The physics and the realistic "heaviness" of managing a massive airship against the wind currents are implemented very well. Juggling speed, buoyancy, and the rudder controls genuinely makes you feel like you're operating a complex, vintage machine, which fits the "Old Tech" theme perfectly. The color-coded height map is a very smart and readable design choice to show the terrain underneath. The gameplay loop has great potential to be a relaxing, meditative experience, but it currently lacks a solid background music track or ambient sound effects to really support that slow-paced, cozy vibe. Adding a nice lofi or wind ambience would completely transform the immersion! Also, the buoyancy adjustment feels a bit too slow in some areas, but overall the core mechanics are very responsive and nicely structured for a 48-hour deadline. Great job bringing this detailed concept to life! Thanks again for checking out my game and for the great point about the rotation controls — I really appreciate your support. Good luck with the final ratings! 🎈💨🧭✨
