Thanks for the deep dive into Viktor Tsoi's vibe and for the great song selection. I beat the game all the way to the end

One thing I found a bit inconvenient is checking the temperature in each apartment — or maybe I'm missing something? It seems like the temperature is only displayed when you hover over the round thermometer.

Also, for such a relaxing, meditative game, it's a bit unfortunate that switching to another window automatically pauses the game, especially since there's no downloadable Windows version.

That said, such a unique and atmospheric idea! I love the Soviet setting, and the lo-fi arrangements of Viktor Tsoi's songs are a really nice touch. Turning the everyday job of a stoker into a game is a clever interpretation of the theme. Great work!

Probably the best game I've played so far when it comes to atmosphere and cramming an impressive amount of mechanics into a single screen. It feels so wonderfully cozy, I could practically smell the coal and tangerines while playing.

Also, thanks to this game, I learned that Leningrad is apparently located in Kamchatka. And they say video games are a waste of time!

The UI is a little confusing, though. It's not always obvious what affects what, and I wish things were a bit more visual and intuitive. But overall, I really enjoyed it!

And that girl... somebody please tell her that practicing those kinds of gestures in Leningrad is a VERY dangerous idea.

Хорошая игра, хотя в начале подсветка непонятная)

@valeriy thank you! I didn’t expect anyone to make it all the way to the end :)

@ivankrivenko you can check the apartment temperatures by hovering over their windows: the tooltip shows the temperature. The windows also change color depending on the temperature: blue means cold, golden means comfortable, orange means warmer than the comfort range, and reddish brown means dangerously hot. The round gauge beneath a riser shows a summary for the apartments connected to it, while the large gauge by the boiler shows the boiler’s temperature.

I originally imagined the game as a desktop companion game to — a small window you could leave open on your desktop while doing other things. For Ludum Dare, I chose a browser version because I worried players might not want to download the game.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback and the kind words about the atmosphere, Soviet setting, and music. I’m glad the idea of the game resonated with you

@skigfx I wanted the UI to feel like part of the boiler room itself, rather than a set of separate icons overlaid on the screen. But the explanations and tutorial ended up a bit too sparse.

The woman is just tending to the flowers 😂

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the atmosphere!

@indiealesha спасибо за отзыв! Подсветку добавлял, чтобы, наоборот, понятнее было, куда в начале тыкать. Она непонятна прям в самом начале, когда уголь подсвечивается? Похоже, надо было палец ещё использовать)

This is an incredibly cozy, atmospheric, and heartwarming project! As a fan of Soviet aesthetics and Viktor Tsoi, the lo-fi instrumental arrangements of "Kino" songs on the tape reels completely won me over right from the start. The pixel art for the boiler room downstairs and the apartment interiors upstairs is visually stunning.

The core gameplay loop is well-balanced and satisfying to manage without being brutally hardcore. However, I have to agree with the onboarding feedback: the game has quite a lot of text to read initially. It would be fantastic to see a dynamic, step-by-step tutorial integrated directly into the gameplay (learning by doing while tossing the first pieces of coal into the furnace). But once you figure out how the draft controls and radiator valves affect the building's temperature, the loop becomes super engaging! Gathering "comfort" points to unlock new tape tracks and heating upgrades is a brilliant mechanic.

Magnificent work capturing that unique vintage winter vibe! If you have a free moment between your stoker shifts, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 📺🔥📻✨

Looks and feels awesome! Great game!

Great atmosphere, great idea for old tech! A bit hard to understand quickly because the game is not a casual one and has plenty related mechanics, however it was a really good idea to put tutorial on start. Plus for cozy vibe and details in workspace which interesting to inspect during operating - very immersive point:) The only thing which might make game loop more consistent is adding coal limits to force player to use it well. But even though, really good entry, well done!

Pretty cozy game, especially considering winter is coming. music really fits the gameplay, I can imagine sitting there listening to it and turning the stokers there. A bit hard to understand at times, could use a clearer tutorial.

@fortythird I considered making coal a limited resource, but ultimately decided against it to keep everything a bit simpler. Maybe I should have added it after all, though. Thanks for the feedback!

kirill-balak 2026-10-25 17:36 ♥ 1

@fancyreckless yeah, the tutorial still needs some work. Thanks!

"continue" button's hitbox in the ledger is surprisingly annoying 🙃

cool atmosphere (font feels a bit out of place though)

easy to find equilibrium, so has an idle game vibe to it, and upgrades don't mean much. would at least be a challenge if there was a perfect narrow range for each section of the block you had to adjust which in turn would yield higher satisfaction.

Я так понимаю, у меня нет отопления, потому что мой кочегар не разобрался с управлением?

Simple concept, very good implementation. Love a good cozy game.

lazyapegames 2026-10-27 13:43 ♥ 0

Nice calm and cozy game. But I have few points. For me the game had something around 1-2 fps which was annoying and made the game painfully slow. Maybe a Windows build would solve it but i played even more demanding games on WebGL without problems, so i don't know what the reason for the low framerate. The art of boiler room looks AI generated but i don't see any AI disclaimer. Also wasn't Leningrad on a bit different part that Kamchatka? The upgrades difference was very subtle and it felt like the only thing was i had to put less coal into the boiler. But other than that, Nice work!

самая вайбовая игра, посидел послушал хорошую музычку.

I like your idea, and to be honest, I think it would be cool to make an incremental game about heating a house in a severe frost, Frostpunk-style.
