This is hard but the concept is really good. I love the way you used Morse code here! The tutorial with all the explanatory panels feels a bit long. Introducing the mechanics as you play would have worked better but it's so hard to do in only 48 hours! Great job here.

tweekus 2026-10-19 20:10 ♥ 1

It’s nice. I struggled when I couldn’t get data from the missiles. I’m not sure why it doesn’t always work, maybe I’m too slow.

I think combining difficult controls like Morse code with time pressure isn’t the best combination, but overall, well done!

david-fiattarone 2026-10-19 20:11 ♥ 1

Hard even on easy mode, but still a unique approach and immersed in the theme. Great job! I love the unique mechanics, easy to pick up. My only real critique would be the length of the startup/onboarding guide in the beginning, but this is LD.

Fantastic job!

Actually addictive gameplay. While i was getting into it, understanding how to point spotlight or copy morse-code, i didnt noticed how i got into it and spent some time) Really feels like using radar

willops 2026-10-20 04:07 ♥ 1

Surprisingly fun once I got the hang of it, really cool concept, I could totally see this as a way to teach morse code and get better and faster with it like typing games. Nice work!

thanatosisanoob 2026-10-20 05:24 ♥ 1

The gameplay is fun once its understood but it takes a while to get used to. Really fun game though.

@mugule @david-fiattarone I know that the length of the tutorial is a little bit long, I want to make sure that everyone can understand the game from A to Z. Introducing the tutorial through gameplay was the initial idea, but I ran out of time, I know it'd be better but making it is time consuming...

@tweekus you can get the missile's data using the spotlight from the radar, it's not through reality (only what the player sees), and it should be targeted. I don't know why yours doesn't always work, but I don't want to say "skill issue". 😂

@willops I hope you learned the timings! I spent 30 minutes just to get the timings for Morse code. First time when I get into this code. 😄

tweekus 2026-10-20 06:55 ♥ 1

@planetary definitely skill issue 😂

woona 2026-10-20 11:58 ♥ 1

I managed to shoot down 2 missiles on easy before they got me and it wasn't easy at all!

I like how the game creates an atmosphere with simple graphics.

I don't like that I had to just follow the algorithm as fast as I can, I didn't get to make meaningful decisions while playing.

Also, I couldn't tell for sure if I actually destroyed the missile or not, and if not - why. It seemed like I entered correct code, but the missile didn't get destroyed, an explanatory message would be great.

planetary 2026-10-20 12:07 ♥ 1

@woona first of all, thanks for playing! 😁 I know some people don't like to follow specific instructions, that's fine.

And about missiles: if a missile was destroyed, it would disappear from the radar in the next update, and the tower who shoots it will display a missile icon next to it, again, in the next radar update... that's how the design was made.

Maybe I should have lowered the difficulty even more on Easy btw... 😂

cogcomp 2026-10-20 20:36 ♥ 1

A lot to keep track of in this game. It look great but was a bit too challenging for me. A bit of an overload of instructions at the start, but other than that it was really cool. Well done!

sevansevan 2026-10-20 21:38 ♥ 1

Sooo hard! So many things to handle, including "predicting" the trajectory so that the correct tower is selected. Well, I really felt I was fighting for my life :) (I lost)

planetary 2026-10-21 13:00 ♥ 0

@cogcomp yeah, when you get the idea most of the time you'll enjoy it. Thanks for playing!

@sevansevan you need to be careful when a missile is in or outside of a tower, the radar is only to update its position. And don't worry about losing, more missiles will spawn over time, it's a mechanic to not get bored! 😁 Thanks for playing!

vorondesan 2026-10-21 15:54 ♥ 0

Hi, game is pretty hard even on easy, but i like the idea, visuals are minimalistic but serve their purpose, creative use of Morse code! Nice job!

helagos 2026-10-21 16:27 ♥ 0

I love the concept. Controls are maybe not so friendly but the idea is great. I like your clear and simple graphics.

sebbernery 2026-10-21 19:52 ♥ 0

4:04 minutes ! (In Easy mode, lets be honest) Capture d’écran du 2026-10-21 21-50-37.png That's fun, I made two game before understanding how to shoot one missile, but after that, it was clear ! I liked the feeling of sending morse messages :)

unpronounceable 2026-10-21 20:26 ♥ 0

Nicely hectic. Took some practice to get the morse input down. Everything is clearly communicated. Besides the onboarding being a bit long, the morse beep having a click at the end is my only major complaint.

ao-85 2026-10-21 21:50 ♥ 0

I absolutely love your concept, you came up with a great idea! I like how the game creates an atmosphere with simple graphics.

ii-p 2026-10-22 07:07 ♥ 0

messy tutorial, but fun fr

ynukym-academy 2026-10-23 22:06 ♥ 0

This is such a unique and addictive incremental defense concept! Integrating actual Morse code as the core shooting mechanic under time pressure is brilliant and fits the "Old Tech" theme perfectly. The minimalist radar visuals and the clicking sound design create a fantastic, tense atmosphere.

The gameplay loop is highly engaging once you get the hang of it, though I have to agree with the general consensus in the thread about the onboarding. Having a long wall of text at the very beginning can be a bit overwhelming, especially with the language barrier. It's always best when the tutorial is integrated dynamically into the gameplay itself, letting the player learn by doing. However, knowing that this is your first Compo entry and you built it in just 48 hours (and spent day one rewriting ideas!), this is an incredibly polished and impressive result!

Fantastic job making this 100% human-made without AI, the chaos is real! If you have a few free minutes after defending the skies, I’d be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning game too. Good luck with the ratings! 📡💥🕹️✨

segtree 2026-10-24 04:04 ♥ 0

This game looks cool, but I can't type morse codes.

tenthousandfireants 2026-10-27 07:10 ♥ 1

Easy mode was a little hard , but after a while I began to understand it, though it wasn't exactly clear if i had to enter the code twice?

planetary 2026-10-27 13:24 ♥ 0

@sebbernery nice round! I'm happy that you can do 4 minutes in Easy mode. Let's be honest, I spent a lot of time playing my game too, I can do 7 minutes in Hard! 😁 Thanks for playing!

planetary 2026-10-27 13:27 ♥ 0

@ynukym-academy thank you for your feedback! Next jams I'll definitely try to do an interactive tutorial rather than a wall of text. For sure I'll play your game!

planetary 2026-10-27 13:29 ♥ 0

@segtree you have to press / hold "Space" in order to send Morse code. If this doesn't work, you can to download the .exe version (Windows), HTML builds may be laggy...

planetary 2026-10-27 13:35 ♥ 1

@tenthousandfireants you don't need to enter the code twice. Of course, if you send the code wrong or the missile is out-of-range from the selected towers, you need to send it again. Even if on radar the missile is in the range of a tower, it doesn't mean that in reality it will stay on that spot before the next radar update.

planetary 2026-10-27 13:42 ♥ 0

@unpronounceable the beeping Morse sound is a HTML only specific bug... If you check the Windows version, you won't hear it since it's generated through code via Unity's function OnAudioFilterRead(). They say in their documentation that this function doesn't work in HTML builds sadly, so I had to generate the sound inside Audacity and import it. Here's the beeping sound, the ends don't align properly + it's a pause between audio clips that I can't remove it, also I was running out of time.
