Really cool entry! I played through it and had a great time. Here is a quick breakdown of my thoughts: • Gameplay & Design: The core mechanics feel solid and intuitive right from the start. The gameplay loop is engaging, and the controls feel responsive and fair. • Visuals & Art Style: The visual direction fits the overall mood really well. Everything looks cohesive, and the presentation makes it very clean to follow what's happening on screen. • Audio: The sound effects and audio design add a lot of punch to the experience and help build the atmosphere. • Theme Interpretation: You did a fantastic job incorporating the jam's theme into the core loop in a creative and clever way! Constructive Polish Idea: If you decide to update or expand this after the jam, adding a few extra feedback cues (like juice/particles or subtle screen shake) or expanding on a few mechanics could make it feel even more polished! Overall, awesome job for a jam project! Left you a high score/rating. Keep up the great work! 🚀

cool character model! one thing i noticed is that you can hit the enemies thru the short wall which provides a exploit, good submission!

@anastasia-pitomets Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words! Really glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the suggestions — I definitely agree there's room for more polish. I had to cut quite a few things to make the jam deadline. Thanks again for taking the time to play and rate my game!

Grandpa Souls)

It's incredible how much work was done during the three-day jam,

everything worked well in terms of gameplay

No special bugs were noticed.

I'd like to finish the environment, animations, vfx and meta, and it would already be a vertical slice)

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 07:32 ♥ 0

@kontest53 Haha, Grandpa Souls! Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words! I definitely agree — the environment, animations, and VFX could use a lot more polish. Three days just weren't enough to get everything done. Really glad the gameplay worked well for you!

myokka 2026-10-20 09:18 ♥ 1

I was very pleased with the controls, simple but very dynamic. The visuals of the game are also beautiful.

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 10:05 ♥ 1

@myokka Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the controls — making the combat feel responsive and dynamic was one of my main priorities. Happy you liked the visuals too!

alexis-brochec 2026-10-20 11:02 ♥ 1

Great game, It's good to have the controls localized. (thanks for that) I didn't really grasp the purpose of the money and components; perhaps they should be highlighted more (for instance, by including a purchasing phase before the rounds, or something similar). Great entry

stanewolfer 2026-10-20 12:16 ♥ 1

the concept is fun but i don't see what game is supposed to be

welovegames 2026-10-20 12:21 ♥ 1

I finished all the levels and defeated the server - really enjoyed the game! Does the final choice change anything?

drgivago 2026-10-20 12:24 ♥ 1

it remains me a lot the sword quest in Zelda Botw (or TotK?). the gameplay is fun, it's a pleasure to control the character. the grappin is a top idea. the envionment seems a bit under the overall quality of the project.

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 12:59 ♥ 0

@alexis-brochec Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback! The components are actually used to charge your ultimate ability — the downgrade grenade. But you're absolutely right, this should be communicated much more clearly! I was so focused on getting everything working before the deadline that some UI details got overlooked. The idea of a purchasing phase is interesting too, especially if I decide to expand the game after the jam. Thanks again for the suggestions!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 13:04 ♥ 0

@stanewolfer Thanks for giving it a try! I wanted to combine fast-paced combat with a bit of humor. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time during the jam to fully develop the concept or explain everything clearly. Thanks for the feedback!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 13:17 ♥ 1

@welovegames I've been really looking forward to seeing someone mention the server! Wow, you made it all the way to the end! Thanks so much for playing! I’m really glad you enjoyed it! As for the final choice - for now, it’s just a couple of lines of text at the end. I might expand on that idea if I continue working on the game after the jam!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 13:26 ♥ 0

@drgivago Unfortunately, I haven't played Zelda, but thanks for the reference! I'll definitely check it out! Really glad you enjoyed the gameplay and the grappling hook — I spent quite a bit of time trying to make the controls feel responsive and fun. And I totally agree about the environment. It definitely needs more polish, but I had to prioritize gameplay to make the jam deadline. Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback!

empeurman 2026-10-20 18:33 ♥ 1

Mixed feelings, game feels like a prototype for testing ideas more than a level, with a good level of polish (animation, fight, loot), sound is not quite here yet. Made me think of Ratchet and Clack.

I think i had a bug because i died at level 2 when one enemy has left and dying but an i revived at level 3.

Has real potential

10 grandpas out of 10

aterim 2026-10-20 22:29 ♥ 1

The destruction of boxes and enemies feels really satisfying! And the flying gears and bolts reminded me of that old game based on the Robots movie.

eugenik 2026-10-21 00:04 ♥ 1

Love the premise of the grumpy mechanic taking on high-tech threats! The idea of reducing sophisticated robots back to primitive technology is genuinely clever and makes for a fun core loop. Great job making this concept feel so punchy in a jam setting!

runningopenloop 2026-10-21 03:35 ♥ 1

Fun game, i beat it after dying a few times at the final level/wave, do the tanks rockets damage the robots as well? If so they could be used as weapons. Maybe the server could have some attack so that once all the other robots are defeated, it won't be easy defeating it, or it could go into a special boss round and maybe it summons other robots.

You could also add so that when you wack the scout robots while they are charging to stop. I really like the mechanic that you can use the grapple to sling up to the drones.

It would be fun to have a drone obstacle course where you use your grapple to sling up to the drones and try to get higher, just for fun. Great job. -J

tentacos 2026-10-21 08:32 ♥ 1

That was so much fun!) I wish I could be just as energetic in my old age. I love the variety of tools and skills.

ivankrivenko 2026-10-21 12:09 ♥ 0

@indiealesha 10 grandpas?! That's enough to take down an entire tech corporation! Thanks a lot!

fi7games 2026-10-21 12:09 ♥ 0

The game is definitely fun! When there are lots of enemies, it becomes exciting to combine abilities and dodge! impact is really good! However, for some reason, the dash button stopped working around level 3, which made the game more difficult.

ivankrivenko 2026-10-21 12:17 ♥ 0

@empeurman Thanks for playing and for the thoughtful feedback! I think you're absolutely right — it's closer to a prototype than a fully developed game at this point. I focused mostly on getting the core combat mechanics working and making them feel satisfying. The environments, sound, and level design definitely need more work.

And thanks for reporting that bug! I hadn't encountered it before, so I'll look into it. Really glad you see potential in the game!

I hadn't thought about Ratchet & Clank while making it, but I'm really happy to hear the comparison!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-21 12:21 ♥ 0

@aterim Thanks a lot! I spent quite a bit of time trying to make the destruction feel satisfying, so I'm really glad you noticed! I haven't played the Robots game, but now I'm curious to check it out.

ivankrivenko 2026-10-21 12:25 ♥ 0

@eugenik Thanks so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the concept!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-21 12:29 ♥ 0

@runningopenloop Wow, thanks for such detailed feedback and for making it all the way to the end!

I really like your ideas, especially the drone obstacle course!

You're also right about interrupting the scout robots' attacks. That's something that would definitely make the combat feel more responsive.

If I continue developing Detech, I'll definitely keep these suggestions in mind. Thanks again for playing and sharing your ideas!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-21 12:32 ♥ 0

@tentacos Haha, I totally agree with you! Thanks so much for playing! I'm really glad you enjoyed the variety of weapons and abilities.

perrarancino 2026-10-21 16:13 ♥ 1

a grumpy old mechanic who fights robots by downgrading them back to primitive tech is such a good character idea, and the wrench plus downgrade grenade combo sells the whole fantasy. the animations and the character model have a lot of personality too. was the downgrade grenade always the ultimate, or did it start as a regular weapon? really fun concept.

ao-85 2026-10-21 21:29 ♥ 0

It was fun and interesting 5 out of 5. This game has the potential to become a pretty cool incremental game with upgrades.

ivankapcov 2026-10-22 17:51 ♥ 0

A fun, entertaining game. But for some reason, on the last level, the old man started automatically running toward the camera, and I couldn't get past it.

bobanko 2026-10-22 22:55 ♥ 0

Fun combat and solid controls, especially the grappling hook. Theme is used well.A few things that could be clearer/polished: Parts/components purpose isn’t obvious at first Environments feel a bit empty compared to the combat quality

ynukym-academy 2026-10-25 09:22 ♥ 0

This is an incredibly fun, dynamic, and punchy 3D action entry! The controls feel surprisingly responsive and smooth, which is highly impressive for a 72-hour jam project.

The main character renderer is fantastic! This grumpy old mechanic with a mustache instantly reminded me of a hardcore version of Super Mario, especially with that massive wrench. Smash-combos on high-tech robots and watching nuts, bolts, and gold gears scatter all over the place feels extremely satisfying and addictive. The variety of tools is awesome — the grappling hook is a brilliant addition that adds so much mobility to the combat. I agree with the consensus that the industrial environments feel a bit empty compared to the high quality of the combat physics, and the UI could communicate the purpose of collected parts a bit clearer. But as a gameplay prototype, this feels incredibly complete and cohesive. 10 grandpas out of 10!

Wonderful job putting this together! If you get a break between downgrading tech corporations, I'd be absolutely honored if you could check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! 🔧🤖💥✨

overlix 2026-10-25 09:28 ♥ 0

The game is really cool; I especially like the sound effects that play when you hit enemies. I’m just not sure I’ve figured out what the gears are for.

kirill-balak 2026-10-25 12:41 ♥ 0

A fun and accessible game! I like that the controls are laid out as icons at the bottom. However, the difficulty spikes a bit too sharply starting from the second level. Even so, the game is still impressive!
