The game looks really good! I just think a quick tutorial at the beginning would help. I had a little trouble understanding how to play with the in game tutorial.

artemeda 2026-10-19 17:30 ♥ 2

Really cool concept! I love the atmosphere and the old-school switchboard mechanics. The visuals and sound design work really well together and make the game feel immersive. It took me a little while to figure out the controls, but once I got the hang of it, it was really fun. Great work!

ricardo-menin 2026-10-19 17:35 ♥ 2

Love the concept!

artalasky 2026-10-19 23:22 ♥ 2

Very simple yet addictive gameplay. The game feels very cohesive and complete—great stuff!

ivankrivenko 2026-10-20 04:37 ♥ 2

Quite educational! I've only ever seen a telephone switchboard like this in the movie *Changeling* with Angelina Jolie. I got confused pretty quickly, though! Operating an old telephone switchboard is a perfect fit for the Old Tech theme. Love the art style, and the optimization is excellent. Great job!

maxxxmax 2026-10-20 05:17 ♥ 2

The theme is good, and it’s not boring to play. The graphics are pleasing.

kremlebot 2026-10-20 13:45 ♥ 3

cahard 2026-10-20 14:17 ♥ 1

kremlebot 2026-10-20 14:24 ♥ 2

evgenii-petrov 2026-10-20 20:25 ♥ 2

Nice concept and execution, with a really satisfying tactile feel. Things get pretty intense toward the end!

valeriy 2026-10-20 20:52 ♥ 2

Yes, perhaps the difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly, and maybe the mechanics are described a little unclearly, but the immersion in the theme turned out great — the game really pulls you in.

eugenik 2026-10-20 23:03 ♥ 2

The process of manually routing calls by navigating the directory and completing the circuit feels incredibly immersive. It truly captures the intense precision required when operating a vintage switchboard. Fantastic job bringing this detailed concept to life!

lovecreep 2026-10-20 23:52 ♥ 2

orpheus 2026-10-21 00:33 ♥ 2

Very good implementation of this idea with calls, with white pages, fun to play when you got into it, challenging, and meditative (but only at first shifts xD - then it becomes challenging and it is good) Very good point and click entry

tentacos 2026-10-21 08:25 ♥ 2

i had only 1/3 suspicious but got fired anyway :( I love the concept, the visual style, the idea. Great game, i think it has strong potential. It was a bit difficult to turn the knobs on the oscilloscope.

aterim 2026-10-21 12:23 ♥ 2

I've played a few games with similar mechanics in this jam, but I think yours feels the best out of all of them.

As others have mentioned, there's a bit of a difficulty spike around levels 4–5, but that's a minor issue. It's understandable for a game jam version.

If you decide to keep working on this project, I'd personally suggest not focusing too much on the speed and volume of incoming calls. Except for occasional special events, like a disaster in the city that suddenly makes everyone call each other at once. Personally, I think a slower-paced gameplay style could work better here. You could add more little puzzles and maybe an overarching mystery or detective story. For example, the operator accidentally overhears a strange conversation and gets drawn into some mysterious case...

Anyway, I think there are still plenty of interesting things you could do with this idea!

bobanko 2026-10-21 12:37 ♥ 2

sparklingsushi 2026-10-21 14:47 ♥ 3

Cool polished concept. Graphics is really nice, liked the woobling of the coords. I think the progression could be a little bit slower. Good job!

tweekus 2026-10-21 16:11 ♥ 2

Nice entry. Pretty hard but fun to play

Nice concept and execution, with a really satisfying tactile feel. I loved playing it, super cool

medvejut 2026-10-21 22:52 ♥ 1

thanatosisanoob 2026-10-22 16:18 ♥ 2

I like the visuals. Gameplay was fun and intuitive. I didn't have any problems :)

estelgames 2026-10-22 16:59 ♥ 2

What a game! Respect for the "Paper Please" vibe.

Very smooth and clear start, with new mechanics and difficulty added as you go. Everything is done super well for a jam game. And an awesome fit for the theme! ❤️

I picked up suspicious calls a few times, but only to see what would happen.😄 photo_2026-10-22_19-54-15.jpg

Nicely done! I like a Paper Please vibe! Progression feel so good!

milq 2026-10-23 08:17 ♥ 2

Impressive stuff, loved the premise! The dark moody switchboard with glowing plugs, rotary phone and old monitor builds a great noir atmosphere, and the hand-drawn look is very consistent. Nicely done, take a bow!

richard8 2026-10-23 14:20 ♥ 3

Really cool and immersive game! The switchboard concept fits the theme perfectly, with great visuals and satisfying gameplay (I love the cord physics). It’s simple yet addictive, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The tutorial is clear, though the game feels a bit too easy, should have added endless mode . Overall, great job!

mikemikemakes 2026-10-24 14:27 ♥ 1

The gameplay was satisfying. The connecting and disconnecting of the wires feels especially good.

However, something niggles at me: the character artwork appears AI generated. It has many of the hallmarks of AI character art and it seems to have been made in a different art program from the rest of the game's art. But I don't see a disclaimer for AI use for this artwork. Did I just overlook it?

cahard 2026-10-24 16:11 ♥ 0

@mike thx for playing! The character art is hand-drawn. No AI. It looks a bit different because of how godot scales sprites, not because of a different art program. Appreciate you asking!

picttarge 2026-10-24 18:29 ♥ 2

This is great - we considered a switchboard game for the jam but this is really well implemented - does what it says on the tin and then throws in some suspicious calls too! The waving wires and satisfying clunk help makes the main mechanic feel solid.

garaptic 2026-10-24 18:43 ♥ 2

Great idea! You did pretty interesting game, never saw something similar before, I really enjoyed this, good job :D

mikemikemakes 2026-10-24 20:12 ♥ 4

@cahard If no AI was used, how come there's an openAI synthID on the starting image? IMG_2489.png

(I hope my screenshot of the synthID works)

Let me be clear: I don't mind if people use AI in their games. It's become incredibly common nowadays.

But, please, let me know where you used it! I need to know what was your own work and what wasn't. Especially when I'm comparing your game to that of others, who maybe didn't use the boost of an AI.

cahard 2026-10-24 20:44 ♥ 0

@mikemikemakes the synthID is only on the cover, we generated it based on a sprite from the game for the page art. Nothing in the actual game uses AI, all sprites and character art are hand-drawn. I'll happily send you 5 bucks if you can find a single AI sprite in the game. And honestly, we're here to rate games, are you really hung up on the cover art? Seriously?)

ynukym-academy 2026-10-25 07:49 ♥ 2

This is an incredibly atmospheric, polished, and top-tier switchboard simulator! The dark noir mood, the glowing plugs, the tactile cord physics, and the rotary phone setup build an absolutely amazing and immersive experience.

The gameplay loop is simple yet highly addictive. Navigating the paper directory using TAB, managing suspicious calls, and clearing lines with the oscilloscope puzzles are fantastic mechanics that fit the "Old Tech" theme flawlessly. The game feels very cohesive, and having multiple endings and full Russian localization is an incredible achievement for a jam project. It gets quite hectic and stressful during the later shifts as the difficulty ramps up heavily, but the overall tension keeps you totally hooked. The satisfying "clunk" sound of connecting wires is pure ASMR bliss!

Phenomenal work by the team! If you get a quick break from patching all these noisy city exchange lines, I'd be absolutely thrilled if you could drop by my page and check out my retro-tech ASMR cleaning simulator too. Good luck with the final ratings! ☎️📡🔌✨

gurtek 2026-10-25 08:30 ♥ 2

I just played a similar game before this one—funny coincidence. I prefer yours because of its more realistic/historical approach to handling the calls.

The only downsides: I felt like the game’s performance became less smooth when I was adjusting the oscilloscope.

Also, at one point, someone tried to reach another person who was already on a call (though I might be mistaken about that).

Otherwise, excellent game.

kirill-balak 2026-10-25 10:11 ♥ 2

I liked the physics of the wires. The game is intense. I started making mistakes early on, but eventually, I got the hang of it. In the end, I lost because of the bribes :)

Good game!

tanjou 2026-10-25 15:54 ♥ 2

Man this is extremely satisfying and awesome usage of the theme. I loved how the cords dangle and the hand drawn assets and audio effects reminded me of one of my favorites, Among Us! Such a creative piece. Well done. One of the best yet

pan-pan 2026-10-25 16:04 ♥ 2

The art is beautiful! 😭❤️ I love the visual style and the atmosphere. The old switchboard, the blinking lights, the cables, and the oscilloscope all fit together so well and make the game feel really immersive. I also love how the old technology is not just part of the setting, but an important part of the gameplay. It gives the whole experience so much character! Amazing work! ☎️✨

fifut 2026-10-25 19:15 ♥ 2

Too bad the police finally tracked me down! It's easy to get caught up in the fun. I had a great time. I think, to close the directory, I would have preferred to just be able to click outside the pages.

tenthousandfireants 2026-10-27 07:14 ♥ 2

nicely intuitive, a great pacing of progressive challenge. sound, audio, and graphics had a nice cozy feel.

bravolama 2026-10-27 12:18 ♥ 2

semenov 2026-10-27 12:23 ♥ 2

spaint 2026-10-27 22:30 ♥ 2

Nice game, loved every minute of it. Dunno why connecting people for cash is such a big deal that the police arrested me, but eh... Is people asking to connect to an already busy jack planned or just random? Loved the tension that it adds Wish there were a way to spend money, but it acting as a score is already fine enough for a jam entry. Good job!

cahard 2026-10-28 07:11 ♥ 0

@spaint Thanks! Busy jacks are intentional “conflict” calls — the timer pauses while the jack is occupied, so you have to free it first. The police only care about bribes: normal calls are fine, but taking cash from criminals gives you a strike, and three strikes mean arrest. Plug them into jack 40 (POLICE) instead to avoid the strike and get a smaller reward. Fair point that it could be clearer in-game — and yeah, money as score was the jam compromise; a shop is a good post-jam idea.
