| Dec 13 04:15:00 | Pong Plus | Sorry, couldn't get it to run. I'd recommend adding instructions on how to run it | |
| Dec 13 04:55:00 | 40m 00s | Can into space | Really good game, cool mechanics and amazing graphics! I wouldn't be surprised if this won the jam. Authomatic soldier generation and not being able to destroy bases means it is possible to spend faster than one gains, which results in certain defeat quite easily. Other than that, it's pretty good. |
| Dec 13 06:23:00 | 1h 28m | 1 biT Strike | It's a nice game. I think it might benefit from a different control scheme on PC. |
| Dec 13 07:05:00 | 42m 00s | Don't Eat My Babies | Amazing game! I downloaded the code hoping to learn how it works. I like how nothing happens for a while at the start so you get used to the controls. |
| Dec 13 08:37:00 | 1h 32m | American Life | The cinematic intro was great, but I think it would benefit from focusing the cup a lot faster. The step sound effects sounded like he was stepping on gravel, but he's on a wood floor. The rest seemed great, neat mechanics. I couldn't solve the puzzle, but that is probably my fault. Keep up the good work! |
| Dec 13 08:54:00 | 17m 00s | Dungeon Room Speedrun | It's a fun game, but kinda counter intuitive. I think you made it necessary to match the heroes elements to simplify the game, but it might be easier to call them 'weakpoints' or 'weaknesses'. Other than that, it's great. It would be cool to have a "top score" displayed somewhere after the first time you play. <br/> <br/>However, I didn't see a lot of the theme in there... Maybe because you're in one dungeon's room the whole time? |
| Dec 13 09:19:00 | 25m 00s | One Cock at The Top | It can be polished further, but it's fun. Its physics are sloppy, but it has a strong core loop and you did a good job giving the player an objective in the main menu. I was frustrated when I lost in the ninth match... and that's a good thing. It's great. <br/> <br/>I didn't feel the theme at all, but that's okay. You made a fun game. Also, nice title. I'm sure it'll get a lot of clicks for you. Good job! |
| Dec 13 18:31:00 | 9h 12m | Escape The Room | Great mood! I felt like I was exploring some ruins or a dungeon. It of course lacks more things to interact with, but I see a lot of potential. |
| Dec 13 18:49:00 | 18m 00s | Fateful Cavern | It was fun, but I found it kinda confusing... I didn't understand how you heal. Overtime? Did I pick up something and didn't realize it? And why does that moment where a different music plays and I can't attack happen? Did I do something wrong? Is it random? Can I prevent it somehow? Also, I really think you should try to adjust it so enemies do not spawn too close to the player. For me it felt a little unfair. <br/> <br/>However, it's pretty nice. I liked the screenshake. Points would've added a lot, but you probably thought of that and just didn't have enough time to add it. Keep it up! |
| Dec 13 19:09:00 | 20m 00s | Duelist's Chamber | WOW! Fitting music and great, fast paced gameplay. One of the best I've played. Maybe a little less screenshake, at times it felt like there was an FPS drop when there obviously wasn't. This might have been intentional, though. <br/> <br/>It might benefit from some kind of point system, maybe with a system with a time counter so the faster you defeat it, the more points you get. <br/> <br/>But yeah, WOW. Simply very fun. |
| Dec 14 01:59:00 | 6h 50m | Shit Happens | Not a bad game, but it feels incomplete. I suggest having the default selected button in the main menu be "start" instead of "exit"; Selecting buttons in the main menu feels kind of laggy. <br/> <br/>Also, I played for a few minutes and only saw one type of NPC. Not sure if that is a bug. However, it's not a bad game overall. |
| Dec 14 02:06:00 | 7m 00s | <Game Room> | Same, can't see the game on the page. Not sure if I'm missing something. |
| Dec 14 04:06:00 | 2h 00m | Liquid Media Games | A more fitting soundtrack would make the game a lot more fun. Also, louder sound effects. Even though it looks great and it's enjoyable. |
| Dec 14 05:00:00 | 54m 00s | In a Cell | Fun game! However, it would benefit from adding background and increasing a little the difficulty. It's possible to just spam Space while on top of the enemies and win effortlessly. This might have been on purpose because you were out of time, though. <br/> <br/>The main menu is nice. Also, it fits the theme very well :) |
| Dec 14 05:39:00 | 39m 00s | Protect Your PS4!! | Nice game! I found the gameplay a little confusing at first, but it didn't take much time for me to understand. Music could be more fitting though, maybe something a little faster. <br/> <br/>I get your problems with the controls, I experienced something similar when developing my game. I wonder if you made it so you could go through stuff when jumping because of those bugs. If you want to know how I solved it you can contact me or check my game's source code :) <br/> <br/>Could use some polishing, but nice game overall. |
| Dec 14 06:02:00 | 23m 00s | Lost In The Dance | Amazing! Good graphics and great ambiance. It reminded me of Stanley Parable. It's quite impressive, good job. However, I had the same problems others have and got stuck often and the weak jump did not help a lot when it happened. |
| Dec 14 08:45:00 | 2h 43m | One Room | Great idea on the first level's design! It's a fun game overall, but you could try adding some background music. |
| Dec 14 16:34:00 | 7h 49m | The Final Room | Dude, this is GREAT! I played it 3 times until I beat it. And the way you seamlessly restart the game from within the story... amazing. The only suggestion I have is background music; finding fitting music might be difficult, but I think it would improve the experience. <br/> <br/>If you made a full roguelike game of this it could totally work. Of course, you'd need to add some new mechanics, but the core that is there already works. Keep it up!! |
| Dec 14 17:47:00 | 1h 13m | Never-ending Spacemare | Great game. Nice blending between narrative and gameplay, and good-looking graphics. However, I find it easy to get stuck. The first time I played I'm not sure if it was bugged because I wandered without finding anything for several minutes. In another playthrough I bought information about the second beacon and got its coordinates, but didn't know how to use them to find it. <br/> <br/>It's really cool that different factions have different ships and that you can kind of piss them off as a faction if you attack them. Overall, it's impressive that you managed to do this in 72 hours. How many are in your team? |
| Dec 14 18:38:00 | 51m 00s | Gravity Set Me Free | It looks good, but I didn't understand the conditions for winning or losing. Also, everytime I took the note in the bottom left of the wall I couldn't get out to the game again. <br/> <br/>I got both of the endings, but didn't really understand hwo I got each one... It has a cool art style though. |
| Dec 14 19:40:00 | 1h 02m | Captain's Room | Cool visual style. You did a good job with the ambientation, but controls could be more responsive. Nice game overall. |
| Dec 14 21:39:00 | 1h 59m | EscapeJam | Good humor! Pretty interesting game. However, I'd reconsider the time spent translating it to spanish (or to english from spanish), unless you did it for some kind of local competition. Could've used that time to further polish the game. |
| Dec 14 21:57:00 | 18m 00s | The killer is in this room | Sometimes it automatically switched to Windowed even when I configured it to be full screen, and it was extremely uncomfortable to play in Windowed in my PC (1366x768). <br/> <br/>Other than that, it was a nice experience. I was able to get into it and spend several minutes trying to find the murderer. I suggest adding some background music, but sound effects did their job. Without a sound effect at the start I wouldn't have tried to push anything to move it forward. <br/> <br/>Well done on that, by the way! It's faster than defining the pace yourself; I did something similar in my game. Good job. |
| Dec 14 23:29:00 | 1h 32m | One Room to Freedom | Moving by button mashing is quite an experimental mechanic. You said the intention is to make the player feel tired like an old person would feel, but then I think that: <br/> <br/>-40 is not old enough for this purpose. A 40 years old person is not at his peak, but it's not that old; maybe 60 would be better. Or don't focus on the fact that he's old, but that escaping from prison is pretty difficult and you have to run to the limit of your strength to do so. <br/> <br/>-The art doesn't match this mood. It is colorful and cartoony, but you're trying to communicate a harsh feeling through mechanics. <br/> <br/>When reading my critique, however, keep in mind that I didn't like the game very much. It's not a bad game, but I couldn't get into it. That, of course, is my opinion and not your fault, so try to see which parts of my critique are because of my opinion and which might be true. Good work overall. |
| Dec 14 23:49:00 | 20m 00s | radnet | Unexpected take on the theme! Really interesting game. Only weird thing I noticed was that when I op-ed a guy that wanted me to op him nothing happened, and sometimes he'd ask why wasn't anybody posting anything while everybody was talking. <br/> <br/>Well done! |
| Dec 15 01:57:00 | 2h 08m | Flip to Unite | Nice one! a really good game although a little bit confusing when it comes to0 those slippery tiles, it took me a while to discover how to jump on them. |
| Dec 15 04:50:00 | 2h 53m | Ultimate Showdown | Nice! I liked the art style and the progression. I'm not sure if this is a bug but the pick-ups that looked like first aid kits always reduced my health. A few more well balanced enemy types would make this game immensely better, but it is pretty fun as it is :) |
| Dec 15 07:18:00 | 2h 28m | Little Room of Horrors | Cool wave game! I got to Wave 56 before it got repetitive. I have several suggestions; I'll list them below to avoid large chunks of text. <br/> <br/>1. I'd suggest mapping the direction of the attack to the direction where the player click rather than the direction the player is moving, as this is more intuitive for most players. In Unity, this can be accomplished by checking where the mouse at the moment of click relative to the player (in Unity it can be done with Camera.ScreenToWorldPoint(Input.mousePosition) and substracting the player position from it). From the current control scheme I like that you can kind of dash through monsters effortlessly by just spamming click while moving in their direction, but that gets repetitive fast. You can try having two different control schemes and testing it with people while you watch them play and take note of which one makes the game better and/or more intuitive to them. <br/> <br/>2. Sound! Sound effects and background music can better the game A LOT. And I mean, A LOT! More than you'd think. I'm guessing you didn't have enough time to get them, but even really basic sound effects are usually better than no sound effects. Getting fitting background music is a lot harder and it can often harm your game when not done at least partially right, so be more careful with it. Done right, however, it'll give you mad mood points. <br/> <br/>3. I didn't quite understand how upgrading your weapon worked. I think I attacked faster, but after about five upgrades changes were barely noticeable. <br/> <br/>I'm not writing these suggestions to discourage you but to help you the best I can to improve! You made a fun game, be proud of it. I see lots of potential. |
| Dec 15 23:11:00 | 15h 53m | The White Room | I found the introduction logo to be a bit slow. The terminal's answering system feels weird, and you can right whatever you want (not necessarily Y or N). <br/> <br/>The first time I played I went afk for a couple of minutes and when I was dead when I came back; after restarting, the fireplace was off and I couldn't move. This appears to be a bug. <br/> <br/>I like the art style, feels similar to Minecraft's. I'd suggest tweaking the campfire's sound effect, as it suddenly dissapeared once you get to a certain distance. It wouldn't be a big deal normally, but in this game it is important for the player sense of orientation. <br/> <br/>Spiders are intimidating, well done! Even though, some sound effects would make the game's mood a lot better. If spiders came to me while squeaking or growling I would've really freaked out. <br/> <br/>Overall, an interesting, good-looking game. Keep going :) |
| Dec 15 23:39:00 | 28m 00s | CircL | That's... pretty intense. Good game! Dialog between characters near each other often overlapped, making it difficult to read. Other than that, it's fun and immersive. I'm impressed. |
| Dec 16 01:37:00 | 1h 58m | Diorama | I like the art. It's fun, but sometimes it's difficult to perceive depth to know how far you're jumping. |
| Dec 16 02:09:00 | 32m 00s | Event Horizon | Nice game! I liked the permanence mechanic of seeing your corpse from that last time you died. Good work. It might work commercially on mobile. |
| Dec 16 22:12:00 | 20h 03m | Welcome to my Room | I really liked the art style. It blended really well with the background music and sound effects. Also, good pacing. I feel it likes more interactivity, but it's a relaxing experience. <br/> <br/>Your Post Mortem was pretty interesting! I might use its structure as a reference when writing my own. Keep it up! I hope to see you in more Ludum Dares :) |
| Dec 16 22:42:00 | 30m 00s | The Reign of an Early Fairy Sovereign | Interesting storytelling. Played until I reached an ending where I didn't die in vain. Like others have said, background music and sound effects would've improved this a lot. <br/> <br/>Enjoyable game overall. Keep it up! |
| Dec 16 23:13:00 | 31m 00s | Magic Trial | Fun game! The elemental attacks are a cool twist. I'd try making them a little faster and see how it affects the feel of the game. |
| Dec 17 00:02:00 | 49m 00s | Pest Control | Great game! I found the "piu" sound from shooting really funny. Sound effects and background music added a lot to the experience. Screenshake is a good touch, but it feels weird as it appears to create small black lines a the edges of the screen of the game, like you were moving the whole level a little instead of the camera. Or like the camera left the boundaries of the level for a moment. <br/> <br/>Well done! |
| Dec 17 01:21:00 | 1h 19m | Tim in Time | Great game! Fun to play, humorous dialog, and fitting sound effects and background music. <br/> <br/>However, the dialog button being different from the interaction button makes the control scheme kind of confusing. I'm guessing it was easier programming wise to implement it this way, but it's the one thing I would change from the game. |
| Dec 23 08:12:00 | 150h 51m | Dungeon 2.0 | Pretty fun game. I liked the permanence mechanics and its game feel is impressive. However, I didn't understand a lot what the skills I was leveling up actually did. |
| Dec 23 08:21:00 | 9m 00s | DarkLight | I didn't get what I was supposed to do. Things seemed to happen arbitrarily. |
| Dec 23 08:37:00 | 16m 00s | Exam Simulator | Great idea! The teacher got stuck trying to walk in opposite direction of another NPC and I was able to copy easily hahaha |
| Dec 23 22:09:00 | 13h 32m | Bar Brawl | I liked the sound effects and the dialog, but it feels like something is missing. |
| Dec 24 07:21:00 | 9h 12m | The Downtop Massacre: Pepper Invasion | It was fun playing it. I'd suggest making wave transition as well as the room's walls more noticeable, but I liked the atmosphere. The art, however, seemed to clash with the mood you were trying to set. |
| Dec 24 23:10:00 | 15h 49m | Quest of the Wizard | I liked the graphics and the ambiance, but I didn't understand what I was supposed to do. Combat felt laggy and lacked feedback. |
| Dec 24 23:29:00 | 19m 00s | 12 Angry Tenants | Great game! I really liked it. Art and sound are amazing, it feels new and though mechanics could be more polished, it's quite fun as it is. I'm sure you'll be at top 100. |
| Dec 25 07:41:00 | 8h 12m | Null Void | Amazing game! It's a neat platformer. I could learn a few things from your entry. I liked how you let the player choose difficulty through number of lives, something pretty easy to do. I didn't feel a lot of the theme, but it was really fun. |
| Dec 25 16:11:00 | 8h 30m | Dreamer of Dreams | Beautiful game. You introduce well the core mechanics at the beginning. However, selecting an option in the game menu feels weird, like it was the other that was selected and level design feels weird. There are pits whose existance only purpose seems to be bothering the player. |
| Dec 26 08:40:00 | 16h 29m | Claustrophobia | Great idea! It's all pretty cryptic and I was confused all the time, which took away from the experience for me. However, if this was intentional then good job. Audio and mood were (apparently) amazing. |
| Dec 27 04:36:00 | 19h 56m | Cute Reign | Cool game! But even though it is kind of a visual novel, I feel the introduction is a couple of dialogue blocks too long. I liked the story and the mood you set for it. |
| Dec 27 05:19:00 | 43m 00s | Hamsterical Nuts | I've seen several games with "cute" on their title because of the art style, but not one of them got me to think they were actually cute... until now. Amazing art, and the background music fit perfectly. <br/> <br/>I'd suggest adding more sound effects. Also, the fact that your projectiles could collide and be destroyed by yourself was pretty counterintuitive and frankly frustrating. Was confused by this through the entirety of the game. <br/> <br/>But yeah... really cute. |
| Dec 27 05:45:00 | 26m 00s | I'm no shut-in | Beautiful graphics, I really liked the animation. Dialog feels kind of awkward at moments, but I the story is great. <br/> <br/>However, the player shouldn't need to read instructions to know how to interact with the main menu. It's ok if you can do it with E, but as that's not intuitive it might be wise to allow interaction by clicking in a button o pressing Enter or Space. |
| Dec 27 14:41:00 | 8h 56m | Sound Crush | Great job, nice looking and music theme, gameplay is good but it can improve, also the time to restart the game is to long, but the idea is great at all |
| Dec 27 14:45:00 | 4m 00s | Magician Carrier | This game was so hillarious! and its innovation at all was great, very fun. |
| Dec 27 14:54:00 | 9m 00s | RemoteRanch | Great job with design, but don't know at first what to do, controls need to be improved, but still a great idea, just need to clarify yourself, and ours to understand your idea better. |
| Dec 27 14:58:00 | 4m 00s | Unwelcome | Tutorials, or at least some information about the game at the entry is necessary for every gamer, however the idea was great, and in the end I enjoy it, but remember that what keeps gamers playing is first impressions! great job mate |
| Dec 27 15:01:00 | 3m 00s | Hurry Up ! | LOOOL great job mate! hate that couldnt finished in time! just hillarious, nice game! |
| Dec 27 18:26:00 | 3h 25m | RoomEscapeEscape | At first it was all creepy haha but that was the intention right? weird, felt really trapped, and each time I explored the game it was getting better ( At some time I forgot that I have to escape lol ) However Need to improve more the setting, and keep adding more stuff to interact with and voices, or music changes during some stages |
| Dec 28 18:51:00 | 24h 25m | 20 Seconds to Die | Fun! The graphics and the way you handled the camera were great. Even though, it was confusing at first as the game does little to teach you how to play it. Also, I'd suggest adding some sound, it can really do a lot for the mood of the game :) Great entry. |
| Dec 28 19:52:00 | 1h 01m | Cloud Chaser | I liked sound and mechanics, but I didn't really understand ... anything. What was my objective? What was I supposed to be doing? What is this mail? What is that head-like thing I picked up? What does the "2000" over a skull at the start mean? ... Also, the game does nothing to teach you how you play it. |
| Dec 29 04:45:00 | 8h 53m | Gun Shop Loadout | It looks great. I'd suggest adding a more fitting background music. Although controls felt pretty weird for me, I had fun playing. |
| Dec 29 05:37:00 | 52m 00s | Bad Dreams | Nice graphics. I'd suggest adding more feedback to the game, sound effects when you get hurt, the slow bubbling of lava, that kind of stuff. Also, background music. <br/> <br/>Finally, it's nice from you to ask the player to carefully read the tutorial... but the tutorial is quite long and most players aren't that interested in the game yet. There are tricks to teach the player how to play and how to combat different types of enemies through design; this is an extensive topic, but you can get started by watching this video about the way Super Mario teaches the player its core mechanics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH2wGpEZVgE <br/> <br/>Keep it up :) |
| Dec 29 06:39:00 | 1h 02m | The Ways Out | Great entry. Sound effects were great. The atmosphere is amazing. The prisoner's sprite was weird, but everything else was pretty good. |
| Dec 30 01:23:00 | 18h 44m | Sweet Dreams | Great game! I had a lot of fun playing. I'd suggest increasing the difficulty slightly faster and having faster player bullets so shooting feels more responsive, but a great entry overall. You have a nice game loop. |
| Dec 30 04:42:00 | 3h 19m | Scary Monsters | I liked the ambiance, but it could use better sound effects and might benefit from faster movement. |
| Dec 30 05:00:00 | 18m 00s | One Room - One Door | The Wilhelm Scream is really funny. I liked the graphics. It's pretty difficult to attack without getting hit. It felt unfair that most of the game was based on luck, because if a door suddenly took you too close to an enemy it was about over. |
| Dec 30 05:16:00 | 16m 00s | This One Room | Dialog feels weird at times, specially at the beginning. Other than that, nice entry. |
| Dec 30 05:29:00 | 13m 00s | Harmless Titan | Pretty original idea, I had fun playing. However, controlling it with the mouse felt laggy at times, like I wasn't turning fast enough. Also, idle animation felt like it was moving the monster a little, even though it wasn't. |
| Dec 30 07:22:00 | 1h 53m | The Room in The Ocean | Nice puzzle game! It's quite relaxing. I liked the mood you set, and sound effects are fitting. <br/> <br/>However, I think dialog text could be shorter. For example, when teaching about the second kind of button I think the part that says that it's kind of a combination of two other systems does not contribute a lot to player understanding. Also, for this second kind of button it would be easier for the player to have it be a different color. Finally, the game would benefit from better feedback when an enemy touches you. <br/> <br/>Overall, a pretty good entry. |
| Dec 30 07:52:00 | 30m 00s | Chrome Room | Beautiful game! The puzzles' design is great. This would be a good mobile game. |
| Dec 30 19:24:00 | 11h 32m | One Room - 30 minutes earlier | I liked the art style. Mechanics were a little confusing at first. The game would probably benefit from the addition of sound effects and background music. However, it seems strange that this kind of mood heavy game did not have any sound, so it might have been a specific problem from my PC. |
| Dec 30 20:14:00 | 50m 00s | Alone | I didn't really understand what I was supposed to do. I'm not sure if you intended the player to feel isolated or just ran out of time, but I didn't really feel isolated anyway. I was confused as to what was happening. |
| Dec 30 21:02:00 | 48m 00s | Furni-Chore | Really fun entry. Even though, when I read the title I think of chores. Chores aren't fun. Also, I think the introduction story could be shorter. |
| Dec 31 04:42:00 | 7h 40m | Horror Hotel - Room #13 | Nice entry. I think the game would benefit a lot from sound effects. Also, at the beginning I FELT LIKE THE GAME WAS SHOUTING AT ME WHAT IT HAD ALREADY IMPLIED A MOMENT AGO. |
| Dec 31 05:16:00 | 34m 00s | Dragon | Not bad, but I feel it could've achieved more. Because size of pillars is random sometimes pillars would be higher than the player can jump. This might be okay with the very first pillar so the player fails and learns how to attack the dragon (maybe have it be a fixed length and the player always lose that first heart, balancing it by having the player start with 5 hearts), but after that it's pointless for it to be that way. |
| Dec 31 06:18:00 | 1h 02m | Keeper of the Altar | INCREDIBLE! I could learn a lot about game feel from your entry. How did you do the lighting effect when you shoot the SMG? I have never used LÖVE before so I'm not sure where to look in the source code. Would you be so kind as to explain me how it works or send me a link where it does so? My twitter is @SergioMadera10 :) <br/> <br/>It of course gets repetitive once you've seen how all weapons work once fully upgraded, but... man. I had a lot of fun. Ambiance was amazing. That rumble sound effect at the beginning was really effective setting the mood for the game. |
| Dec 31 07:47:00 | 1h 29m | Window Crawler | It is a fun entry with a really interesting idea. <br/> <br/>However, opening text could be shorter. Also, it's not obvious that you must open another instance of the game to go to the next room. If I hadn't seen a GIF of your game's window mechanic before I would have probably lost interest before I figured it out. |
