Awesome interpretation of the theme - very innovative! It was fun to see the room spiral out of control when it got a lot of users. The music was fantastic.

dragonzbw 2016-12-14 02:55

Interesting. Works quite well as far as the main mechanics (although there are some issues I saw, such as the kick/op/deop buttons disappearing randomly and never coming back). Nice music and graphics, although whenever I open any of the non-music files I just see ASCII art that says WAREZ LOL. Dunno if there are more types of files than these or if I'm doing something wrong

LOL this game is awesome! That professor guy was always uploading viruses, what a punk. Great take on the theme sir.

mrevilguy 2016-12-14 04:12

@dragon that's probably because you demoted yourself from admin or something. this game was wacky - and the music was great. I imagine coding this would have been a lot of fun. there was a bit of repetition in user speech when they join the room at first, so I really just felt like I was in a room with a bunch of bots! Also, very hard to click download when there's so much stuff being posted.

djfariel 2016-12-14 04:22

I dunno if I just got lucky, or what, but I just opped everyone who came in to the room, downloaded a cool background track, and sat around opping people. Nothing bad happened. Was amusing. :)

An interesting take on the theme.

stepp 2016-12-14 23:36

Fantastic game :D it was enough challenging and the idea was simply great. Good work

pajama-llama 2016-12-14 23:36

Cool 'one room' solution I'd never thought of! I also like the art of the file icons, definitely must've been fun to make for everyone involved.

davisan 2016-12-14 23:42

Awesome! Very original!

jramell 2016-12-14 23:49

Unexpected take on the theme! Really interesting game. Only weird thing I noticed was that when I op-ed a guy that wanted me to op him nothing happened, and sometimes he'd ask why wasn't anybody posting anything while everybody was talking.

Well done!

almax27 2016-12-17 15:31

Great entry and great use of the theme, enjoyed playing it

otso-turpeinen 2016-12-17 15:45

Very solid. Though real IRC has more lurkers than that.

sinclairstrange 2016-12-19 12:39

Hahaha what a fantastic use of the theme, very very funny and such a well developed game! I thought it was fantastic, very well done. (Man some of those messages were comedy gold!)

First rule of Radnet: don't make people superuser.
Second rule of Radnet: don't download any files.

Managed to win on my third try, after some time it gets too chaotic to follow any conversations, but the game is pretty much won at that point anyway. One problem I found is that the names and controls for banning/promotion are not aligned well, so that I had to count from the top which user I wanted to ban. Perhaps a browser problem, I'm on Firefox.

Nice entry! I've played for a while and I got a lot of fun. I have nothing to add, good job and keep working.

youngbrothers 2016-12-24 11:05

Great game guys. Very nice soundtrack, my favourite was the dubstep mix

moeilijk 2016-12-25 02:40

Intersting game, but after playing for some time I still had no clue what to do. Besides that it was a pretty fun game for a while. Great music and nice graphics.

stupidmindlessf 2016-12-25 09:06

5 stars for mood, innovation and theme. Felt like year 2000 all over again.

tboi-team 2016-12-26 10:02

This game reminded me of Durarara!
Pretty cool idea! Gets a bit confusing eventually, but i guess that's realistic xD
Pretty impressive music as well!

mouch 2016-12-26 15:50

I also had the idea to make a game with a chat room, but I did not know what to do, but you guys had a really awesome idea and I think it really has potential. I wonder if there is already a similar game like this. Also, you have very nice music.

With many users the game becomes very chaotic, which is not bad, but the chat always autoscrolls, which makes it very difficult to click on the download links. In addition to that if your desktop is full with files then new files are placed outside the desktop and moves everything up, which can cause the chat window (and other windows) to move outside the screen unable to move them back or close them.

Would like to see this as a full game!

That's a great interpretation of the theme ! I loved it

axoona 2016-12-27 13:06

nice interpretation of the theme and very innovative!
it's fun to read all the posts, and mute or ban users. Unfortunately it becomes too chaotic at some point where it's just impossible to follow up (neither to read or to dowload anything). so some sort of slow down feature would have been cool as I suppose there is much more to the game that I've seen (for example new files passing too fast for me to download and check).

also I nearly completely overlooked the great music as I didn't want to open any of the downloaded files ;)

overal a great entry!

Hi Radmars! I almost forgot to come see your game this LD!
You always make one of my fav entry, and this one doesn't escape the rule!
Best interpretation of the theme so far, and perfect execution!
Congratulations, as always! =)
See you next LD!

Wow this was pretty interesting! I guess it certainly takes the cake for mood because those users felt like real-life assholes. Nice concept idea and unique gameplay. Would really love some audio but it's ok. I know being almost text-based doesn't leave much room for graphics but the little it has it's pretty well made.

Very nice!

jupiter_hadley 2017-01-06 15:54

Interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/gkZsQxjDEm8
