LD46 — Keep it alive

Game of Trees: A Song of Bears and Fire by wh05herlock 2020-04-23T23:29:33Z

With intense music and a variety of abilities for the trees, I was drawn in to making my forest last as long as possible. I am a big fan of any kind of strategy or survival game and this one was pleasing to play. However, at 1x speed, I was getting a little bored so I bumped it up a little faster and then moved to 10x. At this rate, I was unable to keep up but it added quite a bit of stress and excitement to the game. Overall an enjoyable little strategy game.

Don't Hang Up on Mom by FiscallyDeficient 2020-04-21T01:37:38Z

I enjoyed the graphics but the movements were definitely difficult. I may have cheated to get downstairs as well. "I'm fine Mom" - Sound effects were great and the whole thing gave me a good laugh!

Keep it burning! by Kevin Meissner 2020-04-23T23:42:37Z

Great game! Loved the concept and when the torch went out, it got stressful with the wind and darkness. My only note is I'd say the animation for lighting the torch was really good but too long. Overall, great game and I'd love to explore more of the caves and mine more!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

All the same by Erkberg 2020-10-06T17:51:24Z

This game goes down an artistic route that is so rarely seen in video games. It does a great job at it as well. Everything from the silhouette graphics to the sublte music were spot on for a game like this. It was relaxing, fun to discover. I left off wanting more but knowing that more would be too much. So well done and thought out. Great work!

Thunder Rally by smilewood 2020-10-06T18:45:03Z

I enjoyed playing this one! Definitely could use some expansion but as a base game, this is great. I found that there was a clear meta when I played and after a while it was just pressing the repair button. I guess you could say I got stuck in a loop there :D The sound effects were great and I always enjoy seeing a good builder in the jam mix. Overall, a fun game, great work!

Loop Bouncer by pkenney 2020-10-06T18:07:49Z

Fun challenging game that gets more challenging quickly. The bouncing and movements were pleasing and nailing the exit was very satisfying. I think there could be stuff added to this game such as larger levels with different obstacles down the line for additional levels. That being said, the base game is very good quality, very fun, and so easy to expand if desired. Great work :)

The Circle - 3D Web Game! by Nikolaj 2020-10-06T16:05:54Z

Sounds and music are great. I liked the concept and it fits the theme well. I found that on occasion, it felt unresponsive. I would go left or right and the delay would cause me to either miss the green object or hit a pink one. I liked how the difficulty picked up as well as being able to pick the difficulty. I played on difficult first then "let me win" haha I enjoyed that. Overall a fun classic style game.

...a loop is a loop is... by Le Slo 2020-10-06T19:38:30Z

Awesome concept! This is one of the better "stuck in a loop" games I've seen. The movement is both simple and a puzzle to get to each of the checkpoints and coins. I felt entertained the whole time. I felt the character could use a bit of work with animation and maybe be a bit slower on the movement (on occasion, he went out of control because of the sensitivity). Overall, great work!

Oh My Hamster by LuckyFeathers 2020-10-06T15:30:00Z

This game was so fun. One of the best I've played so far. It fit the theme very well and kept me entertained the whole way through. I thought the process of picking the hamsters up and placing them in their required spots was entertaining and I could have kept going. I felt as though I was building a community of hamsters. It was a very pleasant experience. Once that was complete and the ring began to roll, I then realized that I was preparing these hamsters for something the whole time and I was excited to see what it was. I was not disappointed. I would have liked to see more rolling mechanics to make that challenging. Something along the lines of dodging obstacles. Another note is there was quite a few overlaps of the environment that didn't seem too fluid. There were a few moments when you went through the environment. Overall, this was fantastic and I would definitely love to see where you could take this!

Stuck in the Room by ianmust 2020-10-06T15:10:27Z

Fun puzzle game! I always love to see people making puzzle games in the jam. I felt the movements and traveling between levels were quite smooth, didn't feel to fast or too slow. The puzzles were straight forward but still some challenging. I definitely pushed a block into a corner once or twice and got it stuck (oops). Overall, fun game!

Beyond Death by Trypants 2020-10-06T23:04:48Z

Interesting concept and beautifully made game. Initially I thought "no way could anyone have made this over the weekend" and I'm very impressed that you did! The vocals and sound effects were entertaining and well done. Having to use the "loops" to create bridges and block traps for you to cross was a clever way to fit in the theme. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this game! Great work!

Hamsta's Paradise by brookman 2020-10-06T23:10:29Z

That first level was quite the challenge. Trying to fit the wheel into narrow areas was quite frustrating but satisfying when it fit. I enjoyed the tunes and the concept was all around fun. I would make the first level a bit easier as someone above also said but this was a really great job. The graphics were great and I thought it was a fun play. Great work!

Light footsteps after the rain by Chocolat-Endive 2020-10-06T19:28:40Z

This is very artistic and entertaining in it's own unique way! The music gives it a kind of eerie, poetic feel. Overall, entertaining an a new experience :)

One Hit Wonder by Azemut 2020-10-06T16:31:52Z

Excellent sound effects and music. I loved the animations, the music notes hitting the fans was so satisfying. I agree with @lynxway that a tutorial could be effective. I lost initially because I didn't quite know what to do. I was just clicking on the fans thinking that would do something haha. Once I figured it out, I had a very strange mix of people in the band and realized the combination mattered rather than how much the bandmember costs. Otherwise this was a very satisfying game and I'm very impressed!

Jack's Inferno by mharring 2020-10-06T16:11:43Z

Thanks @leggy for the feedback! We've seen that error twice but haven't been able to reproduce it consistently. Working on it though.

Jack's Inferno by mharring 2020-10-06T17:56:53Z

@erkberg We appreciate the feedback! We had plans for an additional enemy as well as a ranged "exploding pumpkin attack" as a secondary attack but ran out of time. Glad to hear we were on the right track though :)

Jack's Inferno by mharring 2020-10-06T22:42:44Z

@rodgems thanks for the feedback! We had a few ideas for "powerups" and "new attacks" one being an exploding pumpkin as a ranged attack and a swarm of crows flying out of you as a kind of area control attack. Unfortunately we didn't have time to implement these :/

@javasaurus appreciate the shoutout! I took a look at the stream and appreciated the kind feedback.

@danframe It was a lot of work for three days for sure. We didn't sleep much ha. We had another enemy planned but unfortunately ran out of time to implement :( I'm glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate the feedback.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T16:46:11Z

Definitely had a few moments of "this is my life now" Simple but addictive game that could get me hooked for a while. Felt as though I owned a tamagotchi again. "Must keep the hamster going!" Music was entertaining, I never got sick of it but I appreciate adding the mute option in there. Excellent work!

Klone Karts by ABRDs 2020-10-06T18:13:57Z

This was great! Brings me back to the classic 90's racing games. I thought it was going to be the same track over and over but was pleasantly surprised with the changes in the track. I crashed a few times but once I got the hang of it, it was quite a fun loop. The music didn't seem to work for me. The sound effects were working and I made sure the music was selected before starting. Overall, great work!

Klone Karts by ABRDs 2020-10-06T18:48:16Z

@abrds - I was using google chrome on the HTML5 version hope that helps!

Infinite Rainbow Tower Smash! by madbookstudios 2020-10-06T18:33:40Z

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Great music and sound effects. The motions on screen when drilling were pleasing. I made the incorrect decision of drilling straight down about 6 levels right away and was met by a moving wall "avoid at all costs" haha. After a few rounds I got the hang of it and enjoyed hopping around collecting the colors. Great work!

Re-Slash by Croxel Studios 2020-10-06T14:49:32Z

Challenging game that requires precise movement and strategizing your move. Fits the theme nicely and I could see myself playing this over and over again. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Doodle-Oop! by Hank Ather 2020-10-06T19:11:37Z

My favorite part of this game is how you brought drawn images to a video game. The art gives the game a very pleasant aesthetic and a generally very happy vibe. It's a very peaceful game with a simple goal: get stars. I would agree with the comments above that I did not use the loop adjusting mechanic and would have liked to have a purpose for it because it was a cool concept. Overall, this was a fun little game that has the potential to be expanded. Excellent work :)

Fire in time by leggy 2020-10-06T16:19:23Z

The game get's challenging when the speed picks up and there are 4+ firepits. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. It made me quickly think of how to get the fireball to multiple firepits. I found that not being able to drag a line to the edge made it frustrating on occasion as others have also said. That would be a good fix. The sound effects were great as well as the graphics. Good work!

Clound loop by Glayson 2020-10-06T14:39:57Z

The animations are very pleasing and the movement seems pretty smooth. I am not great at platformers on the PC so I did not get far the 5 or 6 times I tried. Great job for a first time jam though!

Escape from House by alexplisov 2020-10-06T17:23:48Z

Finished in only a minute or two but this was quick and fun! I like the concept of going around the house and finding keys to escape while the mother tries to kill you. Essentially, you're stuck in a ground hog day horror film where your mother is trying to kill you. Dark theme but it was a new one. Good work!

SpaceLoop by Alexey Malinin 2020-10-06T15:49:42Z

This was great! I struggled to understand what the objectives were but enjoyed walking around the ship. I liked the chat box at the bottom left telling you what happened during an interaction but a lot of the time it was blank (see screenshot) so I didn't quite know what to do. Some sort of map and "current objective" would be helpful. On the other hand, the graphics were great, the character was so fun to watch walk around and interact with things (ejecting myself into space the first time made me crack up). The spaceship was so well made and it was a fun concept. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more games from you in future game jams!SpaceLoop_BlankInstructions.PNG

Legacy Looper by BellringerQuinn 2020-10-06T17:19:18Z

Fun game! The increase in challenge is very well done - using your movements from last round to further increase the difficulty. I made much more deliberate movements the 2nd and 3rd times playing. It's simple but very entertaining to play over and over. A thought might be adding lives to keep going since I did not make it very far. Good work!
