pretty good graphic, if there are more interaction on the ground, the gameplay would be much better.

tversteeg 2020-04-20 09:35

Amazing graphics and concept! Love how you embedded the controls in the castle. Controls need some more balancing though. This game makes me want to make my next game with vector art as well :)

I'm creating a [similar themed (open source) game](https://github.com/tversteeg/castle-game), but I would love to redo the pixel art I have now in your style!

thomz12 2020-04-20 09:50

Fun game! I wasn't expecting the entire keep to move when I pressed the WASD keys, that was a fun suprise. The graphics fit very well with this style of game and I also like the attention to detail with the WASD keys on the keep. Solid entry!

jonah 2020-04-20 09:53

very fun game. and it looks stunning!

👍 great job on making this

senokos 2020-04-20 09:57

Looks fun! Lovely simple graphics.

jorbits 2020-04-20 10:33

It feels a bit like 'Getting Over It' and started to make me mad. I really tried to 'Keep, Calm!' Would be cool with audio, but it was fun to play anyways.

suchista 2020-04-20 20:04

Top notch interpretation of the theme! The name of the game is so good, haha. It is a very well polished entry with a lovely artstyle and feel to it (cannon balls hitting the keep were a great idea). The gameplay itself was clumsy because of the disorientating controls, but I guess it's a part of the fun! *Keep* up the good work!

kayacarlton 2020-04-20 22:57

Fun and I really like the art <3

rngames 2020-04-20 23:10

Super wacky controls that make the game really enjoyable. This paired with the physics can lead to some pretty hilarious results! Nice graphics aswell!

camilo-quintero 2020-04-20 23:21

Awesome game overall! I really liked the visuals, the game is challenging and the idea is hillarious! The frsutration adds to the experience

balgorode 2020-04-21 05:11

I absolutely love the graphics and the idea was really unique, if not very frustrating, but I suppose that was kind of the intent.

nathan123 2020-04-21 08:48

it looks cool, but I can't play it because my keyboard is azerty. It would have been nice to play it with the arrows.

maniulo 2020-04-21 09:12

@nathan123 yeah, sorry about that - thought about it and didn't have time to implement this properly (would require detecting the layout and drawing different letter names on the keep).

i guess you could still play though, it's just that it would be even more frustrating?

parahunter 2020-04-21 09:17

Looks great but couldn't figure out how to control the tower seemed random what A and D did

maniulo 2020-04-21 09:31

@parahunter Look at the letters on the keep - and hit whichever looks forward.

takase 2020-04-21 13:53

The game is very well done, I laughed a lot while playing it! Well done to you!

mao 2020-04-21 16:49

I love the concept on this one. The controls were a little difficult to figure out since they kept spinning, but I figured it out in the end.

hadik 2020-04-21 20:26

Whe I looking that art I start thinging about switch from pixel art game art to vectors. I so so simple, but it looks so great :) Few lines and good color pallet and it looks beatufill :)

Game idea is very original and I like it. It reaminds me getting over it :)

nice entry :)

zerohbeat 2020-04-22 00:02

Really cool game and great concept! Loved how W,S,A and D were integrated into the keep. Really cool how slowly the keep gets destroyed.

zesix 2020-04-22 02:09

I'm no good at these types of physics games lol. But still a fun and interesting entry! The graphic design of putting the letters on the keep is very intuitive. Wish there was sound, but I understand that's probably due to time constraints. Overall, great job!

zillix 2020-04-22 05:27

I made it to the end! Really great idea, great aesthetic and fun and original gameplay. I love your take on the theme. XD Awesome work.

alphazeba 2020-04-22 06:14

The graphics are so clean!

jin9310 2020-04-22 08:31

Oh this was fun!! The truth is that sound and music are quite missing (as you mention), and that might make this even better, because apart from that, this is so amazing idea! At first I was sceptical and not sure if the tower can be damaged at all, then I lost king, W and suddenly I had no words on my tower! :) I find it hillarious but unfortunatelly I did not make it to the boss as I gut stuck under some hill I wasn´t able to climb. But the variety and the number of enemies you were able to put in, in such a short time frame is quite impressive. Art is alse very nice to watch. Great job! Thank you for the game! finale.png

randdir 2020-04-22 10:07

One word for me ... WITNESSSSSS ! that game is a fury road ! Really like the concept and the gameplay keep it up. It could be a really nice game with more level I guess. Nevermind keep it up pal !

maniulo 2020-04-22 10:30

@jin9310 Thanks for the review! The game definitely could use a bit of balancing, since losing the letters makes it harder to play, making it more frustrating for the new players. In the state the Keep is on your screenshot, I would not be able to complete the game myself. :)

maniulo 2020-04-22 10:31

@zillix Congrats! I had my doubts that anyone but me could finish it, I think you may be the first to do it. :)

huntrox 2020-04-23 19:08

good idea with good graphics and its so fun to play goodjob

macdoom 2020-04-23 20:36

LOL Had a blast playing your game! Got to the end of the map. Was a challenge at first but then realized that with W and S and the right rythm that keep keeps rollin' QWOP vibes Ultra fun. Excellent work!

super-hadoken 2020-04-23 20:45

Wow. Fun and interesting game. Nice eye catching graphics to match. Impressive work.

northerndevguy 2020-04-23 20:57

This was fun, the graphics remind of the mobile game Grow Castle. Audio would have been a great addition, but overall nice job with this.

ithildin 2020-04-23 21:02

I was frustrated with the controls most of the time, but at the same time it was part of the charm in a twisted way. Despite them I kept going until I beat it because the concept was insane and I loved it to pieces (no pun int...well, yes). My left hand hurts now, yet I regret nothing

I'm not sure if it was possible to lose, but the way the keep was getting more and more wrecked made reaching the end feel epic.

Graphics were charming, reminded me of Kingdom Rush or Hidden Folks, and if I hadn't been so focused on advancing I would have kept looking at the scenes to see if I spotted some weird things going on. Some sound would have been the icing on the cake.

I really liked the game. Amazing job, congrats!!

maniulo 2020-04-23 21:12

@ithildin Thanks a lot and congrats on finishing it! I do feel your pain ha-ha, my hand definitely hurts after 2 days of play testing this thing.

As for the wreckage, I was thinking about making a 'game over' if your keep is broken too much, but decided against it since the game is already punishing as it is.

voodude 2020-04-26 03:53

Haha, I like your take on the same pun as well. Way more challenging than expected! Reminds me of QWOP and other similar games: deceptively simple gameplay with many frequent peaks and valleys in your mood. Which I like! My favorite part of the game was seeing that yes, my keep is falling apart, but those letters I rely so heavily upon are also falling off! Suddenly my urgency to try to finish skyrocketed (though, I didn't. Maybe another day.). Nicely done.

adriana 2020-04-26 11:37

One of the few games out there I really really wanted to finish. It feels so polished and the gameplay is really a lot of fun after you get the hang of it. I gave up after trying really hard for a few minutes and making quite a bit of progress, maybe save points would be good? Thanks for making this!

ondrasej 2020-04-30 20:20

The idea is really interesting, the graphics is cute and nicely polished.

But those controls. With the directions being tied to the rotation of the tower, the directions of the controls change all the time, and just one arrow or catapult is enough to send the tower flying in a random direction. I had to quit after a couple of minutes of playing, because randomly rotating with little chance to make progress. A more stable theme could really help the game.

maniulo 2020-04-30 22:28

@ondrasej Thanks for playing! The controls are kind of the point – there's a certain rhythm to them that allows to beat the game pretty easily, but it does take some patience. I can see how it can be not for everyone (I don't usually play these kind of games myself, but for some reason keep making them.)

homeworld 2020-05-03 11:31

Very cool! It quickly went from 'QWOP' to 'Getting Over It' when i hit an incline! Very elegant art design, would've loved some sound from the crowds

ellian 2020-05-12 18:59

Getting Over It, but worst because you have health; ahahah What a fantastically fun idea and execution. Had an absolute blast - eventually had to give up because I just couldn't go past the hill right after falling off the cliff, but man, what a really fantastic thing you made. It's just so fun, polished and enjoyable. Amazing work!

leekanarchism 2020-05-12 19:42

Amazing! This was brilliant fun, I really liked the control scheme and the challenge! I didn't quite finish it, I got stuck by a very steep hill, but had a great time flinging the keep through the air :)
