that is a pretty nice idea shooting the actually text words.

fashionbatman 2018-04-23 08:37

I loved this! That voice acting was great, and the word shooting effect was wonderful. Good job!

jacoder23 2018-04-23 09:26

Short but sweet. Would love to see this expanded into a bigger game. Definitely would make a fun puzzle game.

tomeks 2018-04-23 10:00

Very interesting idea, hope to see it one day with a bit longer story

frostdragonliz 2018-04-23 10:02

Argh I can't get past the elevator. I "use" the call button but it never seems to work. What am i doing wrong?

jacoder23 2018-04-23 10:05

@frostdragonliz Are you talking about the cube on the bottom? That's a chocolate bar.

There a shelf next to your desk and there's something on top that you'll need.

Edit: Whoops misunderstood, @temmy gave a correct explanation

ysty 2018-04-23 10:14

Really good use of the theme. I liked how you used the level geometry to hide the key.

jani-nykanen 2018-04-23 10:18

A little short, maybe (I guess I beat the game?), but I love the game concept. You really should make this into a full game.

blubberquark 2018-04-23 10:35

I was very curious about the hardboiled noir problem sleuth story and then it just ended... Oh well.

The UI was really funny. I like how the box shapes work, because the story is told by examining things and talking to people. So Maureen being a box, and characterised by dialogue is actually genius!

temmy 2018-04-23 10:40

Think of it more of a proof of concept than a game. Would have loved to have made it longer and still might if folks think it would be a interesting enough spin on adventure games!

temmy 2018-04-23 10:40

@frostdragonliz Maureen won't let you use the elevator. Distract her with something!

frostdragonliz 2018-04-23 10:53

@Temmy Oops! I feel stupid now considering there was only one item to use 😆 Loved it, shame you didn't get time to add more content as my only criticism is that it is too short.

spthiel 2018-04-23 11:12

Amazing. I love that humor!

vidsneeze 2018-04-23 12:17

Nice voice over! It is a very interesting concept/idea.

zinkler 2018-04-23 12:43

Oh my, that is perfect! I'd love to see a full game based on this, I'd even pay money for that. The humor is wonderful, thank you for making my day better!

jk5000 2018-04-23 13:03

The idea is super fun, and the voice acting was really good. To bad that the game was so short.

walkdigidong 2018-04-23 14:31

Cool game and idea. The style reminds me Jazz Punk. Would really enjoy to play a full game with this concept

rob-white 2018-04-23 16:43

A very cool interpretation of the theme! As a lover of point and click adventures I thought this was pretty good. Obviously quite short but a lot of room for further expansion. The walking sfx was a bit loud, very nice overall though.

wesclaudino 2018-04-23 16:59

I liked your game and art, can you evaluate mine?

mintarcade 2018-04-23 17:22

Idea is interesting, but confusing - I spent good time finding out what is ringing, never expected it to be phat pink thing. I didn't want to shoot it. Other than that cool game (I managed to finish it)

temmy 2018-04-23 19:02

@mintarcade Yeah, I didn't have time to actually make any proper art or models so had to just use Unity primitives. Thanks for giving it a go!

temmy 2018-04-23 19:03

@WesClaudino Nah. By which I mean, hell yeah! Firing it up now.

theviraldragon 2018-04-23 19:32

What a weird combination. But it works somehow. I shot use on the button but couldn't call the elevator. i was stuck.

temmy 2018-04-23 19:34

@theviraldragon Talk to Maureen (to the right of the button). You need to give her something.

theviraldragon 2018-04-23 19:39

@Temmy Oh, i thought maureen was a file cabinet. LOL.

temmy 2018-04-23 19:40

@theviraldragon Well, in your defence she is a duplicate of one with just a different material haha! Next time; proper character art. I promise.

theviraldragon 2018-04-23 19:44

@temmy I will wait for it. Nice game. Congrats!

adroitconceptions 2018-04-23 20:43

really nice game... could have used some feed back to throw the chocolate at the secretary.

coatline 2018-04-23 21:47

Cute game! Great mechanics. I would never have thought to make a game like this. If you would add more, and add better graphics, you could probably put this on Steam or something.

ismael-rodriguez 2018-04-24 02:42

Funny little game! Nice voice acting ;)

I wish there was a little more!

vkmicro 2018-04-24 03:48

This was actually super fun and entertaining. Nice voice acting too.

Great idea and concept xD definitely wouldn't think about point and click + fps mix :D haha

would like to have some sound effects for shooting though, but other than that, awesome entry

shelvid 2018-04-24 04:04

This is one of the coolest concepts i have seen in a while... work on it! it's really awesome!

packnslash 2018-04-24 04:52

Can't wait to see how the rest of it turns out! Hilarious voice acting

bombjack 2018-04-24 07:43

I liked the concept, the idea is great

temmy 2018-04-24 13:33

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I'm going to turn this into a bigger game because WHY NOT.

marcial 2018-04-24 16:00

I fixed the error and uploaded another file, you have how you edit your post, thank you already

acoto87 2018-04-26 03:51

Well, I think you may have invented a new genre 😜. The idea is very interesting and you should keep developing it. You can consider this as a prototype, take the feedback, and make a whole games out of this concept. Nice work!

temmy 2018-04-26 07:35

@acto87 Thank you for the feedback, that's certainly the plan now!

jharler 2018-04-26 10:42

This was surprisingly fun. I loved the "not applicable here" responses and the voiceover was great. I would've liked to see a bit more, but 48 hours flies by! Really nice job.

temmy 2018-04-26 11:00

@jharler Oh man, you and me both! If only I had struggled with Unity so much on the Saturday night I think there might have been an almighty three rooms, maybe four! Ooooo.

justinm 2018-04-26 21:46

This was actually so fun that I got disheartened there wasn't anymore after the elevator. I'm hoping you continue this and make it into something we can see on steam! Great job :)

temmy 2018-04-27 10:00

@JustinM Thanks! I was equally disheartened playing it and was thinking

"Man, couldn't the person making it have made it bigger? That's too short!"

...to which point I then said...

"Very true! I'd love this to be a much bigger game. I miss adventure games. They were wonderful and made me laugh."

...then I said...

"Absolutely. So we should make it a bigger game, right? I mean, everyone else seems to like it as well, even if they mistook Maureen for a filing cabinet."

...

"That's not their fault. She does use the exact same model just with a different colour."

"But she likes paperwork right?"

"So it's kinda fitting in a way..."

"Yeah. Just what I was thinking."

"Anyway how about we make this a proper game. Make a demo, Kickstarter it or use one of those backer-thingy-thingymajigs and then put it up on Steam."

"Now THAT sounds like a awesome plan."

....

I'm definitely going to make it. :)

freypodgames 2018-04-27 22:38

Short but AMAZING!

paul-avallone 2018-04-28 16:33

I really like the concept of the game. The voice acting was great. I wish every word you shot actually had audio. I'd love to see an expanded version of this with art and more rooms. This was neat. Good job.

maesk 2018-05-01 14:18

Short but extremelly interesting experience. I never thought these two genres could be mixed in this way :D Nice humor and situations. Maybe with some time you could deliver more content and explore the idea with puzzles and the like. I really enjoyed it, nice work!

invixel 2018-05-13 20:38

This was actually quite fun and intresting, despite the lack of content. The view bobbing annoyed me a bit, but i got used to it after the first 30 seconds. I really like the concept, and while the game was short, the fun density was high so definetly worth my time

tom-panton 2018-05-13 20:46

This is a fantastic concept and I would absolutely love to see a full game like this! You've got a real talent for writing the descriptions and dialogue – the description of the storage cupboard made me chuckle :) Despite its short length, it's clear that a lot of hard work has gone into making this. Great job!

temmy 2018-05-14 08:42

@Invixel @Tom Panton Why, thank you for your comments. I've been perfecting my cupboard descriptions for many years now.

unless-games 2018-05-14 14:22

funny combination! some weird situations, puzzles could emerge from the bouncing off "action-bullets"! I'm waiting for the post-compo version if there will be any. also, it would be nicer to change actions with scroll or right-click or something ;)
