| May 1 13:06:45 | Outvoyage | ♥ 1 | I like the PS1-like graphics, but there could be more stuff like stars instead of a plain black background. You made the asteroids spawn in a way you can't "cheat" by moving the mouse far away in the corners. I would have liked sounds. | |
| May 1 13:33:07 | 26m 22s | Deep Virus | ♥ 0 | I don't like the graphics but it's a personal taste. I tried the HTML version, and the inputs were not scancode-based so I had to switch to a QWERTY layout to not have awkward controls. On an AZERTY keyboard AQ and WZ are swapped so the moves becomes ZQSD. If the tools you are using allows it, please use scancode-based keyboard inputs. The music loop is very short. Having to commit to not move then move in the specified direction makes this game hard and anticipation-based. I didn't went far but without that, it would be too easy with most enemies shooting only forward. |
| May 1 14:18:00 | 44m 53s | T-Minus | ♥ 0 | Pretty good graphics and audio! This shows good level design potential. I did not understand immediatly how to change the power. The main downside is the number of levels. (bonus points for the TARDIS) |
| May 1 14:42:01 | 24m 01s | Embark | ♥ 1 | The graphics are neat! The music is good at conveying a "chill" mood. Nice take at incremental games! |
| May 1 15:06:56 | 24m 55s | Ringularity - Black Hole Orbital Combat Simulation | ♥ 1 | I did not understand that my moves had inertia and were on a larger scale until I zoomed out. After that pew pew pew the red triangles. I live that it's a small C++ program instead of using an overkill game engine. Your inputs uses the virtual keys instead of scancodes. When you do that, the inputs are bound to the actual letter instead of the physical position. On non-QWERTY layouts they are move around. For example the moves should be ZQSD on an AZERTY keyboard, and WASD feeld like you are moving with ZQSD on a QWERTY keyboard. You could have used scancodes instead (so read msg.lParam), those do not move but are assigned to whatever letter is here. |
| May 1 16:32:29 | 1h 25m | Cosmonoid | ♥ 1 | This is not for me. The grappling hook mechanic quickly annoyed me. I ended up making round trips to launch from the starting platform. However the graphics and audio looks very polished for a solo 72h game. The reset button should be further away from other keys so you don't accidentally hit it. |
| May 1 16:48:34 | 16m 05s | Savestate | ♥ 1 | Excellent idea! On the top of that it has polished graphics and music. I would have liked to be able to change the controls, my brain has issues with save/load state being on the usual move up/down (or forward/backward) keys when there is actually some kind of "up" key somewhere else. The hitboxes might be a bit smaller. |
| May 1 17:27:06 | 38m 32s | Deep Descent | ♥ 1 | Fun game. Somehow the cubes are pretty neat. But one you have learned the physics, it looks like the game doesn't get harder as you progress, it's a matter of how long do you last without making a mistake. |
| May 1 22:30:50 | 5h 03m | Mine Mayhem | ♥ 1 | Wow a NES game! A game written in assembly language! Made for this compo! The difficulty is just right. The graphics somehow make me think more of the Amstrad CPC's mode 0 than the NES. The jet pack mechanic has a good feel. With a music it would be even better but that's still impressive work! |
| May 2 13:14:19 | 14h 43m | TombDiver | ♥ 0 | The graphics are good, the rest looks unfinished. I assume the ankh items are supposed to be health, but I can't pick them up. At least I can pick up ammo, but there is not enough of it. You could have implemented a death instead of having negative health. |
| May 2 14:07:15 | 52m 56s | Polyomino Prospector | ♥ 2 | Nice way of reversing the Tetris gameplay, including going deeper quickly instead of completing lines. It feels very different than Tetris but at the same time has the familiarity of placing polyominos, with an added navigation challenge. The graphics are well done. Nice remix of Korobeiniki. |
| May 2 15:03:02 | 55m 47s | Gundemonium | ♥ 1 | Got to level 14. Very fun game, one which I actually want to play over and over to get a new high score. There is a frustrating thing through: you don't hit the enemies until they have finished switching floors. The high-pitched sound is too loud. |
| May 2 16:53:16 | 1h 50m | Mini Miner | ♥ 1 | Nice attempt at pixel art, here is some things that can be improved: - it looks like you tried to have a consistent pixel size and keep the pixels aligned. I don't like when pixel art games don't do that, so that's a good point. Through it's not perfect and the diamond has smaller pixels. - your character has bigger "pseudo-pixels" make of 2x2 pixels. There is also a lot of flat tints. The walls are the most well done visuals. The enemies are the must culprits. I like the music except the short loop. I had trouble breaking walls. Also sometimes I got hit while jumping of falling on enemies. It looks like you have used physical key codes for the inputs, so it stays good on another layouts. Thank you for that. |
| May 2 17:14:41 | 21m 25s | Foldception | ♥ 1 | Funny take on "Deeper and deeper". Maybe just increase the difficulty as you go deeper into subfolders. |
| May 2 20:45:01 | 3h 30m | Cyber ass hack | ♥ 1 | I like those retro aesthetics. The inputs are scancode-based which is appreciated. A score display would be a nice addition. |
| May 2 21:06:34 | 21m 33s | ChronoJump | ♥ 0 | Promising concept, too bad there are only two levels! Also, thank you for making the keyboard inputs scancode-based. |
| May 2 21:48:22 | 41m 48s | The Pit | ♥ 1 | The first series of screens serves as a good tutorial. I understood quickly the mechanics. Then the hardcore part... I had to find the invisible borders between the hooks so I can switch between them quickly. It was hard but I had fun. I got the medal. |
| May 3 18:07:32 | 20h 19m | Soapbox Racer | ♥ 1 | You used high quality assets, but how you used it does not make it look good. Especially for the grass. I like racing games, but I did not have fun due to the physics. If you should have spend more time on something it's the car physics. However it takes time to get it right, so it's ambitious to do so for a jam. |
| May 3 18:21:59 | 14m 27s | Jet Racing 4 | ♥ 0 | It has simple graphics but the gameplay is good. You also made good track limits enforcement. My best lap is 26.900. I don't know how to play the tracks created in the editor. |
| May 5 21:04:54 | 50h 42m | Block Attack | ♥ 1 | Simple yet fun. A throwback to those LCD handhelds. The speed drags on. Instead of slowing it down, I would tweak the pattern generation so you don't have to move more than X squares between rows. |
| May 5 22:05:03 | 1h 00m | Fractal Finder | ♥ 0 | Clever way to fit the theme! Plus it's a simple program with some shaders to compute the fractals. Thank you for the cheats, I gave up looking for places that looks like a lot of other places several times. You have repeated yourself a lot in the shades. Wouldn't it be simpler if you just defined the Iterate functions somewhere? |
| May 6 19:51:00 | 21h 45m | rm -rf | ♥ 1 | I like the idea of navigating through your own folders, however the fights are boring. Even in deeper levels (thanks mklink /j), the fights are the same but last longer. I don't like the music. |
| May 6 20:03:18 | 12m 18s | DigOut | ♥ 0 | Good job for your first LD game! I would just have liked to control the ball angle depending on where it hits the bat. |
| May 6 20:13:48 | 10m 30s | Let's Go Deeper | ♥ 1 | Good job on the lighting effect. It has a good audio too. The main menu texts are a bit blurry. |
| May 6 20:33:43 | 19m 55s | SlappyBird | ♥ 1 | The flappy bird platformer is a great idea! However the bats attacking you from behind is annoying. |
| May 8 21:19:25 | 48h 45m | Bouldaouf dash | ♥ 0 | I liked the original game. I wonder what would be the extra levels if you hadn't that bug. There are a few non-tutorial levels and the existing ones are more about killing enemies than removing dirt and letting rocks fall in the right order. You are one of the few developers who just use some libraries instead of a full-blown engine. That's cool. |
| May 8 22:07:37 | 48m 12s | Minball | ♥ 1 | Fitting the theme with a pinball game is innovative. I like the progression system, and what actually happen throughout the game. It game could have been harder and faster without the possibility to farm 1ups. At least reset the score when the player continues. On my 2nd run I ended up with 200 points (including the end-game bonus). Wusses credit-feed the game. True gamers™ git gud and 1CC it. |
| May 9 11:48:17 | 13h 40m | Out of order | ♥ 2 | A bit short, but I got clever enigmas. I restarted the game because I lost mu cane and I thought it could be needed later. |
| May 9 14:18:31 | 2h 30m | Conduit | ♥ 1 | This one of the best games made for this jam! I had lots of fun solving the puzzles aiming for 100% completion. The music is very good. |
| May 9 14:37:13 | 18m 42s | Beat-Dive | ♥ 1 | Nice rhythm platformer! Two minuses: the tutorial graphics and the easiness. Anticipating when you land is harder than just pressing a button at the hard time, but the platforming part is very easy. |
| May 9 14:56:07 | 18m 54s | CHROMAHOLIC | ♥ 1 | I did not rate this game because I don't know what I am supposed to do, expect go to the next light as fast as possible. Quickly I can't find where is the next one which isn't a trap. However it has good esthetics and a good music. |
| May 9 21:20:23 | 6h 24m | 6 Feet Under | ♥ 4 | Excellent platformer. The drill mechanic is fun, the dynamic music is cool, and it has a well-done level design. This feedback is for the non-post-jam version, so I would have liked to have arrow keys controls, if not a ways to reconfigure them. |
| May 13 18:26:25 | 93h 06m | Deeper Bros. Digital Computer | ♥ 0 | Nice programming game! I have not seen language in which you pipe pairs of values so that's something novel. I wonder how it compares with Forth. The custom instructions is cool too. It's hard to debug. Step by step execution would have been nice. I have found a bug: this code should return 1 when the second input is greater than the first. It works when I test values in the editor, but not in the main program. bug_deeper_bros.png |
