I Actually thought it would delete my files lmao .. really awesome game XD
Ah, from now on when I want to delete some file from my computer I want it to be like this XD That idea was great!
Awesome idea, seeing my own folders and files really surprised me, good job!
It was fun to go through depth of my Downloads folder xD. It took a time to get used to the way it shoots and I think it would feel better, if shooting range (and detection range of enemies) would be bigger. Also there is a bug, that if you collide with enemy, it sticks to you.
I clicked thinking I was gonna give you a bunch of grief if you didn't have a Linux build lol
In all seriousness, this is a great gag, the gameplay wasn't very engaging but it really didn't need to be, thte idea holds itself up.
Very original and surprising. The gameplay is a bit simple but the take on the idea in itself gave me a laugh and navigating through my own computer like this was really fun and something easy to get distracted with for a good amount of time.
Great game! On second floor - Enemies names get JSON variables names of my computer. (Kojima style!) Nice job!
Neat concept! I liked exploring my computer but I think the filesystem root is more like the surface than the deepest depths. Linux gang.
I like the concept but I have a few gripes with it. The sword throw doesn't inherit the velocity of the character which makes for awkward moments. The sound track loop was also very short and drove me a bit batty. Still, the idea is really cool and, as a programmer, it made me smile.
I gotta say, with all the random data i have stored in my Downloads folder, it took me way too long to realize that these files were my own. At first I thought "wow these guys have some good taste in music, look at what they named this file" before I realized. It was a very creative idea for a game, but honestly, I feel that the gameplay gets stale rather quickly. It was a cute demo, and I liked the name of the game, but I feel that in order to make this into something more interesting would be to maybe have different types of enemies depending on file extension or something, rather than just the standard shooty guy. Also, perhaps a longer loop of music or other tracks could help too because that started getting a bit repetitive after a while.
But shoot, for a game made in 72 hours? Its definitely a neat concept, and I bet programming this was fun. And I notice you're using Godot too! It's cool to see other Godot devs here :)
I agree with the comments above
It was really fun trying to find my way through my own files. Took a little time to understand that that was what I was looking at, but once I realized it was a fun extra challenge to try and get to different folders.
Why without **sudo**? XD
This is such a good take on the theme. Made me want to clean up my $HOME directory.
My main gripe is that the gameplay itself was pretty dull. Shoot, back up, shoot, back up, over and over, so there was no real challenge or engagement in it. Plus, hits were lacking any feeling of impact. That said, the novelty of zooming around my filesystem and fighting my own files made it fun enough for a short experience.
Also, I made the mistake of adventuring in the /nix/store, which has about 69,000 directories in it. As you might imagine, that "level" was a slideshow
I like the idea of navigating through your own folders, however the fights are boring. Even in deeper levels (thanks mklink /j), the fights are the same but last longer. I don't like the music.
Now you gotta actually make it run rm -rf --no-perserve-root / and you have a game of the year
Cool game, I like how the game generates a map based on the files in the folder!
