| Dec 3 05:27:51 | For The Greater Good | ♥ 1 | Fun! I won on my second try. First try I didn't realize that units only had to move adjacent to attack, so was decimated on the first turn. Only Drained once though, and not sure I needed to to win. | |
| Dec 3 05:33:40 | 5m 49s | Don't Get Attached | ♥ 0 | Overlord happiness seems to drain in about 1.5 seconds, and makes a really annoying noise and then boots me back to the menu. Perhaps your decrementing something per-frame, and V-Sync is off, and I'm running at 1000 frames / second? Seems like if I set the "graphics quality" to "ultra", the countdown goes down much slower, so I'll try that, but the default values definitely are creating a broken game ^_^. (Note: bugfixes for things like this are allowed post-Compo by the rules). |
| Dec 3 17:06:54 | 11h 33m | Foreign Planet | ♥ 1 | @atium-addict I had the same issue, resize your browser window to be less wide (not maximized/fullscreen), and then everything fits (it stretches to fit the width, but then ends up too tall, on any widescreen display, it seems). This game was easier than I initially thought... I managed to collect 1000 carbon, in a grueling process that ended with my 2 survivors gathering the last 60 from the no-risk zones, and then I realized I started with some fuel, so didn't actually need 1000 carbon, and *then* I realized I had 2000 food left over I could convert. Well, I hope those 2 survivors start a happy life together somewhere. Enjoyed it =). I didn't need to use any of the ship functions until the very end, and then just to repeatedly go through the clicks to convert carbon -> fuel, so that could perhaps be simplified or removed. Maybe people who don't intentionally start out by sacrificing as many as possible to get food consumption down would have a different experience though =). |
| Dec 3 18:59:28 | 1h 52m | Sacrifices Must Be Made | ♥ 1 | It took me a lot of losses before I ever played a cat... and... hey, that's really useful, perhaps required =). I thought it was just a crappier Stoat. Great entry, love the art and ambiance! |
| Dec 3 19:21:07 | 21m 39s | Forest of Worship | ♥ 1 | My harvest god ended up 450% happy after I sacrificed my entire population on 7 pyramids. Seems like a good start, but needs a little more to do, and a little more objective - just having an end condition (get to 100% happy, and a screen pops up saying "You win, keep playing?") would have probably felt a lot better for very little additional work. Was more interesting at the beginning, having to balance how many farm and build and how many farms to make, but quickly food became irrelevant, it seemed. |
| Dec 3 20:56:46 | 1h 35m | For The Gods | ♥ 0 | The logo on the main screen, and the text in the Help screen, and, I'm guessing, the UI in the game (since I can't seem to do anything) are all cut off on my screen, presumably any screen that's not 16:9 (my screen availability is 16:10 or 4:3). |
| Dec 3 21:07:42 | 10m 56s | Anno Luciferus | ♥ 0 | Crazy demon pong! I died when the tanks unexpectedly showed up. Who let those tanks into hell? |
| Dec 3 21:21:10 | 13m 28s | Battlecraft : Orcs and Famine | ♥ 1 | I survived 67 days before, as I thought they might, my slaves took over my clan. |
| Dec 3 22:04:29 | 43m 19s | JLIM | ♥ 1 | Would have been nice if rooms stayed cleared after you clear then, instead of having to re-clear some on the way back through. On rooms with keys, I found it easiest to die and just walk back out the door before it closes, instead of killing all the enemies though =). I got stuck in the second to last room, missed killing a guy on the way up, and couldn't get back town to kill him, but refreshing the browser window seemed to reset the room for me (Tab didn't seem to do anything). Quite enjoyable! |
| Dec 3 22:20:09 | 15m 40s | You Get Two | ♥ 1 | "After 4 years, you lost hope. You lazed about and had lunch with friends." Sounds about right. Second attempt I think I survived until the end, just keep getting the -1x4 one popping up, replacing it with another, and repeating forever. Would have been more amusing knowing what the cards are called while playing, instead of just at the end. |
| Dec 3 22:25:04 | 4m 55s | The Greater Evil | ♥ 0 | Nice style! Having to redo the first screen or two gets really frustrating, I had to give up before completing the third. |
| Dec 3 22:47:23 | 22m 19s | Village of Sacrifice - LD43 | ♥ 1 | 44 days survived! That was fun, will try again... 79 days... final try, 84 days! I really like how the lightning bolts sped up at the end =). Balance felt really good. |
| Dec 3 23:00:01 | 12m 38s | Generic Zombie Apocalypse Game Title | ♥ 1 | I quickly got into a situation where my income was -150,000/day (I think I clicked reinforce on a region with lots of factories, and suddenly the income dropped immensely). Needless to say, I did not recover from that. |
| Dec 4 03:02:35 | 4h 02m | Non-increasing 451208114412965 | ♥ 0 | Very nice, and thoughtful! My mouse finger got a little sore from holding the button down the whole time... |
| Dec 4 05:16:29 | 2h 13m | Dungeon Runer | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed the feeling (that I've not really had much before) of playing something in a language I don't understand, and trying to figure out what is going on. I made it to the boss... but I don't think I won. Nice look, and nice use of runes! |
| Dec 4 14:51:29 | 9h 35m | Sons of Vanity | ♥ 1 | I made it 40 generations before my family line got bored and moved on to another game ;). I also was starting to forget what I looked like. Interesting concept, but needs something else to make it more engaging, maybe some reason you would intentionally choose a child with less resemblance - perhaps you know how many grandchildren they each have or how much wealth they add to the family fortune. I liked the art. |
| Dec 4 15:03:35 | 12m 06s | Slime Venture | ♥ 1 | I like the idea, could definitely be expanded to some deeper puzzles, would really enjoy more levels where you have to trade off being bigger and safer vs being smaller and more agile. Having to click to continue between levels is rather annoying, would be nice if you could continue with a keyboard button press. Also, please rename your .zip to something more distinct, when download lots of games, it's hard to find games I download when they're all named "LD43" =). I got stuck when I pushed all the way up to a wall, jumped the exact height, and then was stuck in the ledge, unable to move. Acceleration/deceleration was a bit too slow for my tastes, made the controls feel really swimmy. |
| Dec 4 17:17:09 | 2h 13m | Omelettes | ♥ 1 | Pretty great! Like the style, puzzles are all interesting, and have a good difficulty curve. I would have liked a little more animation when something falls down a level, sometimes I didn't quite catch what happened, though undoing and watching again did always let me figure it out in a second or two. I found the way you dealt with heights and pushing very unique, and not quite like something I'd ever dealt with in another game, worked out really well for this game. The last level was splendid! I was unable to win without breaking some eggs. |
| Dec 4 17:43:07 | 25m 58s | Spaceships Must Explode | ♥ 1 | Great game! I found it really engaging. Really gets difficult after you lose an engine or two, but still keeps being interesting. Other than adding some sound, I don't really have any suggestions to make ^_^. I could see this being interesting to expand with more ship modules and more obstacles. |
| Dec 5 00:21:52 | 6h 38m | Quest for the West | ♥ 1 | You asked for it, so, some typos I ran into: * "it's a site you have never seen" -> "sight" * "click anwhere to continue" (on every event) * "faster than you can blink it's ropelike tongue" -> "faster than you can blink**, its** rope**-**like tongue" * "is any ranging beasts" -> "are any ranging beasts" * "each other! half of them..." -> "each other! **H**alf of them" * "the ones that do not return empty handed." -> "the ones that do return empty handed" In "Have Frogs Will Travel", it said I lost my gatherers, but I gained some instead. Also, that event came up twice in quick succession, well, free gatherers, I guess! I have difficultly reading the font. Green background flickers as the world scrolls. Other than that, I really like the art style, quite a bit of variety there. The writing sometimes made me giggle, so that's good =). I made it to the end, score of 664. Probably due to resolution, at the end, I see "ANKS for the play" off in the sea... Music never got annoying, so that's great =) |
| Dec 5 00:30:18 | 8m 26s | Fallen Girl | ♥ 1 | I was unable to get any further than losing my vision :(, the platforming was a bit too difficult to me, would have loved to see how it progressed! Loved the art and mood though. Edit: Played it one more time, lost 3 health trying to do one jump, but managed to make it to the end, nice! |
| Dec 5 19:03:42 | 18h 33m | Apollo | ♥ 0 | Pretty great! My score: 6193. I really like the look and feel and atmosphere. I apparently misunderstood how fuel worked, thought I only used it to change velocity (and, some constant drain), so I thought I was sacrificing whether or not to expend fuel to slow down or just get hit by an asteroid... but apparently my "constant drain" was because I left velocity on! I think I would have gotten farther knowing that. |
| Dec 6 03:08:46 | 8h 05m | Eldritchual | ♥ 0 | Fun! I won on my second try, had just one lonely cultist sitting in the library when all of his brethren jumped into the pit. Did start a bit slow, but was fun for the middle and end. |
| Dec 6 03:22:06 | 13m 20s | King's Last Stand | ♥ 1 | Cute! I was also defeated in Wave 7, made it there with only a quarter of my health left. A little sound would have really, really helped, I think. Art is amazing, curious to know what you made it in. |
| Dec 6 14:28:53 | 11h 06m | ICATUS and the Golden Ball of Yarn | ♥ 1 | Enjoyed it, really liked the look of it! I'm pretty certain I had 21 feathers when I completed the game, but got a bad ending... maybe I lost a couple between when I looked at feathers and the end of game screen came up, but I didn't think so... |
| Dec 6 17:36:00 | 3h 07m | Death Wish | ♥ 1 | Great entry! Having trouble landing hits sometime, feels like we're probably each on different sites of an integer boundary and some math is going wrong - moving a little distance up or down or right or left usually resolves it. They definitely weren't hit recently, I'd run up to them in my usual pattern, attack, and sometimes the hit just would not land. When fighting the final boss, one red cultist just stood there, not sure if he was dead and not drawing right, or confused, or just having a drink of Cola. I'm really impressed by the amount and quality of content, great job! |
| Dec 6 21:17:30 | 3h 41m | Tainted Blade: The Dungeon Escape | ♥ 1 | That was fun! I got stuck trying to strafe a few times, had to let go of the keys and re-press them and then it was fine. I liked the simplistic graphics, they worked well! |
| Dec 6 21:50:55 | 33m 25s | FTD : Fixin' to Die | ♥ 3 | Would have liked some feedback as to how many I'd saved while going along... although I guess it increases the tension a bit, not knowing if it's okay to sacrifice or not ^_^. I saved 30 of 38 in the end, with one failure. Really liked the look of it, great animations, sound, it all comes together nicely! |
| Dec 6 22:05:29 | 14m 34s | A Key Sacrifice | ♥ 1 | That was fun! Got really difficult, really fast. My final score was 7100. |
| Dec 6 23:10:14 | 1h 04m | Effigies | ♥ 1 | Really interesting puzzle game, and great, fitting music. It seems to "animate" the effigies that aren't moving, which means I press a button, one moves, then I press another button, but it ignores that button press because it's still animating the effigies that aren't moving, I guess, which makes the controls really frustrating. Makes it even more confusing that it doesn't play a sound for the effigy that isn't moving, just takes up time/feels like the game locks up. Level 7 appears to not be solvable, in that I get my 3 guys in the right place, but the level does not end! Untitled-1.jpg Wish I could get to level 8, otherwise, great game! |
| Dec 6 23:22:11 | 11m 57s | Follow the Leader | ♥ 0 | Nice little game! I couldn't tell if there was any use to the bombers, I didn't use him on my first attempt, second attempt he just caused it to end very prematurely, if amusingly. Good music, helps set the mood. |
| Dec 6 23:56:26 | 34m 15s | Decree | ♥ 1 | Heh, "measure of my pleasure". I love how the coins dance! I managed to win on Hard on my third try! My second game went *really* quickly with my losing quickly. My strategy was to completely ignore thieves the whole time, and ignore sacrificing until I had about 6 sets of farm+market+granary going, then just spam farms to sacrifice. A little sound would have gone a long way to improving the feel. I sometimes tapped "B" and "F" and was sitting waiting for feedback that I could build a farm, only to realize my mouse was too close to other things, and it wasn't giving me any feedback, so maybe a red X on the ground when its overlapping, instead of nothing, would have helped that. |
| Dec 7 00:25:21 | 28m 55s | Maze of Death | ♥ 1 | Interesting idea, and like the platform! At 19KB, this is the smallest LD game I've downloaded, the next smallest being... 100 times as big. I believe I explored about half of my maze, however, if things continued as expected, that is less than a quarter of the time required to beat it, so I gave up. Hand was getting sore. I really like the idea of saying how many free directions there are, it both provides a little information, and provides some sense of security (I knew that I had not missed a possible path to the exit). |
| Dec 7 00:34:39 | 9m 18s | Evolve | ♥ 0 | I seem to have gotten stuck where the Sacrificial Squisher stopped working - if I put a cube under it, and press Sacrifice, nothing happens, or it squishes down and the cube survives and I get nothing. If I move the cube out, then it'll let me squish down, but obviously get nothing :(. I liked experimenting and evolving and seeing what I could find until it got stuck ^_^. |
| Dec 7 00:54:37 | 19m 58s | Battle of the Occultists | ♥ 1 | Interesting mechanics! I was disappointed when I lost that I reset all the way to the beginning, didn't want to replay the first levels again :(. The first levels it seems the strategy was just sacrifice whatever you draw, repeat... got more interesting later though! |
| Dec 7 04:28:01 | 3h 33m | Graveyard Manager | ♥ 1 | It was hard to tell what was having what effect, it was difficult keeping my karma up, ended up just shy of 75% when I ran out of money :(. Amusing text and ideas though! |
| Dec 7 04:34:29 | 6m 28s | Entry for 43rd Ludum Dare | ♥ 1 | Ugh, having to replay *all* the levels when you fail a jump is miserable :(. I liked what I played, but could not make it to the end! Graphics are simple but effective, music is quite good! |
| Dec 7 04:44:13 | 9m 44s | Stones | ♥ 1 | Nice little game! I completed it in 2:30. It was unclear at first that I was carrying stones (you start some levels with them, I guess? Thought that was my head!) |
| Dec 7 04:49:11 | 4m 58s | PhotoSheep | ♥ 1 | I won! Well, that is *not* a platform I ever expected to be playing a game in! 5 stars for innovation! =) |
| Dec 7 04:59:18 | 10m 07s | Passage Home | ♥ 1 | I made it home! Me and 1 other. Nice and chill game, once I figured out what was going on. The start was rough, lots of things happening, text scrolling by ("I'm losing people!"), rapidly clicking to not crash, then figuring out why I was losing people... great =). |
| Dec 7 15:42:26 | 10h 43m | Occult Defence Agency Budgeting Simulator | ♥ 0 | On my second attempt, I defeated the Ghost King! After that, it made me make some more cuts and then went to what seemed to be an ending screen saying "No more cuts!", was anticlimactic after reading about the ghost king battle, having to make more cuts and then suddenly ending. Quite enjoyed this! |
| Dec 7 16:38:58 | 56m 32s | Cargo Crunch | ♥ 0 | I like the idea a lot, but it felt really unresponsive... select a crew member, select Scientist, nothing happens half the time. Sometimes I click Scientist and it says "select a crewmember to plug the hole with", presumably it clicked through to the hole behind. Got frustrated and had to stop :( Nice use of sacrificing crewmembers! Graphics were simple but effective. |
| Dec 7 17:05:16 | 26m 18s | Heat Shield | ♥ 0 | The game made sense to me, only thing I missed was I could run out of fuel ^_^. I did a bit of trading between Venus and Mercury and that was fine until I decided to get to Earth... I seem to have lost Earth... it was *way* out there... I ran out of fuel trying to get there, though randomly ended up back on Venus... one more attempt, and I finally made it to Earth, cashing in for 3000 credits. I traded everything for fuel tanks and engines, and set out for another solar system... but failed to achieve escape velocity. Would have been nice to have a little more feedback on buying/selling - I'd often click something and nothing would seem to happen (e.g. I think I have to click a cargo spot after clicking what to buy, but nothing indicates that). Music set a nice mood. |
| Dec 9 20:43:57 | 51h 38m | Consilium - A history of life and choices | ♥ 1 | My score, 4466 x4 = 17864. Love the look and feel of this, well done! |
| Dec 9 20:57:00 | 13m 03s | melancholy | ♥ 0 | Yay, I survived! Seems like I got a different ending than most people... Great style and mood. |
| Dec 9 21:09:57 | 12m 57s | Demon Queen's Possessions | ♥ 1 | I seem to keep getting wiped on round 12 ^_^. Fun game, and interesting mechanics! |
| Dec 9 21:30:54 | 20m 57s | Monastico: LD43 entry | ♥ 2 | Interesting start of a game. I feel like the only interesting choice I ever made was what to sacrifice - beyond that it was purely "move to square that gets me the total most attributes increased", as the attributes didn't seem to make any difference (only cared about the sum, not the makeup of them). Perhaps the victory conditions need to be something more interesting (you're score is your smallest attribute, or to win you must have the most in one attribute, and then the score is the sum of all of the other attributes, one of those kinds of mechanics). |
| Dec 9 21:48:17 | 17m 23s | Humanity Hero | ♥ 3 | Neat! A couple times I just got unlucky (on last draw, needed all 50s, and I was at something like 65/55/55, and I drew cards that always had more than -5 in one of the last two stats :( ), and that felt unfair, but luckily it wasn't too punishing to replay the level. |
| Dec 9 22:00:50 | 12m 33s | EVIL Ship | ♥ 1 | Nice! When I lost, I wasn't sure why. Love the look of your ship. |
| Dec 9 22:16:08 | 15m 18s | The Price of Crops | ♥ 1 | That was neat! On my second attempt, everything went smoothly, ended up with a bunch of villagers with nothing to do except for make more villagers! They seemed happy. |
| Dec 9 23:51:00 | 1h 34m | Poverty Farmer | ♥ 1 | Hmm, I can't seem to get past Day 1 - I get a summary, says I get income, then back to Day 1 / $50 :(. Generally like this kind of game though! |
| Dec 9 23:55:23 | 4m 23s | My metro | ♥ 0 | Clever idea! Wasn't hard once I got the hang of it, but it was still interesting and challenging. Graphics were simple, but effective, I liked it. Was great that there was music, but it did get a little repetitive. |
