| Dec 4 07:35:53 | Avarisk | ♥ 0 | Really enjoyed this, great idea and well executed :) Would've preferred WASD controls though, not a big fan of arrow keys | |
| Dec 4 16:29:09 | 8h 53m | Doug Bones and the Cursed Lava Lamps | ♥ 0 | Really interesting concept, I especially liked the variety of different curses you can get, and that popping sound is great :) Struggled a bit with the floaty controls, though; I kept sliding far past where I actually wanted to go. |
| Dec 4 16:44:38 | 15m 29s | Tri-Angle | ♥ 1 | Loved this! It's really easy to understand how the game works, and it's a lot of fun. My only criticism is that the camera is a bit too zoomed in, which makes it quite hard to see where you're going, but other than that the gameplay was fantastic. |
| Dec 4 16:59:41 | 15m 03s | Friends.OS | ♥ 2 | This is a really interesting game, I've never seen anything quite like it before. The gameplay is simple yet really fun (and intense at times!), and it works well as a criticism of modern culture and social media. I chuckled when I saw "spasm.tv" :D |
| Dec 4 17:08:11 | 8m 30s | Slimefestation | ♥ 1 | Really fun game, well done! I don't think I'll ever be able to look at a slime the same way again :D |
| Dec 4 17:18:47 | 10m 36s | Orbits | ♥ 1 | Excellent game with a lovely art style! I really liked how you could manually adjust the difficulty by adding more planets. |
| Dec 4 17:23:20 | 4m 33s | somethin' Ducks! | ♥ 0 | This is a really interesting take on the theme. Had a lot of fun playing this, the controls are really well-designed. No sound played for me, though :( |
| Dec 4 17:45:37 | 22m 17s | Robo Tomb | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed this a lot, well done! The way the gnomes follow you around makes it a really interesting challenge to avoid putting them in harm's way :) |
| Dec 4 17:52:49 | 7m 12s | LEAF WARDEN | ♥ 1 | A fun little concept for a game! I'm not very good at it, though :) It would be nice if there was some kind of tutorial, as it took me a while to work out how the game works and what the controls are. |
| Dec 4 18:06:03 | 13m 14s | Mo' Gold, Mo' Dragons | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed this, it was a lot of fun to fool the dragons into smashing into each other and the music / sound effects were well done :) I would've liked to have seen a bit of variation in the enemies, though; maybe a dragon that breathes fire at you, for example. |
| Dec 4 18:19:51 | 13m 48s | BulletCoin | ♥ 3 | A really interesting idea for a game, certainly not one I expected to see! I was worried at first that it was just going to be a "cookie clicker", but the bullet-hell aspect of it made it really fun and challenging — easily the most fun I've had playing a game about clicking a button! I particularly liked that the increase difficulty is completely controlled by the player, as you don't have to buy new things until you're ready. To be honest, though, repeatedly clicking the same button got a bit tedious (my index finger had a bit of a workout!). It would have been nice if, instead of clicking, you just had to hold the cursor over the button. |
| Dec 4 18:23:51 | 4m 00s | The 1D107 Exterminator | ♥ 1 | Really low framerate on the web version, making it very difficult to actually play. I didn't get to play much of the game because of that, but the music was fantastic! |
| Dec 5 20:58:44 | 26h 34m | Clones | ♥ 1 | This was a lot of fun, I enjoyed how faced-paced and chaotic it was. I found to be difficult yet fair, and this made it all the more rewarding to complete levels. Both the graphics and the sound effects are really well-made (although the sound effects don't seem to play in Safari for some reason, so I had to play it in Chrome). My only real complaint is the control scheme; using Z to jump and X to shoot felt really weird and it took me a while to get used to it. |
| Dec 5 21:07:14 | 8m 30s | Sunburn | ♥ 0 | Well done! A really interesting concept, and lots of fun too. The graphics and animations are great, and the animation of him burning up made me chuckle :) |
| Dec 5 21:22:31 | 15m 17s | Sumo Slam 2D | ♥ 1 | Brilliant! This is a fantastic idea and really well executed. It fits the theme very nicely and it's so much fun to play! The graphics are also very nice, and I absolutely love the way the ground ripples. This is probably my favourite game I've played on here so far, so well done! |
| Dec 5 21:39:04 | 16m 33s | Swift Thief | ♥ 1 | This is a really fun concept for a game, I'm very grateful that I'm on Mac so I can play it! It felt pretty satisfying to steal things from the desks without them noticing. Also, the main menu was very creative, I amused myself making the arm go in loops :) |
| Dec 5 21:46:02 | 6m 58s | Dungeon Hoard | ♥ 1 | Ace game with some very cool artwork! It's nice to see a fellow Java developer :) I think some sort of tutorial to explain the game might have helped, though, as it's a bit confusing at first. |
| Dec 5 21:58:11 | 12m 09s | Greed Mania | ♥ 1 | This is a really fun game! I love the variety of enemies that can appear, and it's a fun challenge to try to weave in between them to collect more treasure. The circle to indicate where the enemies are going to spawn is really helpful, as it helps to prevent unfair deaths. The number of times that the walls killed me was a little bit frustrating, though. It might make sense to put some spikes on the walls, so that it's clear to new players that it will kill them if they touch it. |
| Dec 5 22:18:22 | 20m 11s | Be Fit! | ♥ 1 | Very cool game, I like how you have to strike a balance between keeping fat to a minimum while also making sure that you don't get too hungry. Really nice pixel art on the runner, as well. Well done! |
| Dec 5 22:23:36 | 5m 14s | Widget Satchel | ♥ 1 | Amazing! I have no idea how you managed to make all this ace artwork in just three days. Fits the theme really well. Good job! |
| Dec 8 20:22:56 | 69h 59m | Yottaman | ♥ 1 | Great job! Making the player's attacks more and more dangerous is a really interesting way to increase the difficulty with time. Fits the theme very well. |
| Dec 8 20:58:57 | 36m 01s | 2D Pixel Shooter | ♥ 2 | Good job! Fun game with some very cool-looking minimalistic graphics. It's clear that you've put a lot of hard work into this :) People seem to be complaining about low framerate, and I wonder if it's because you're drawing so many polygons on the screen with Graphics2D. I had this problem with a game I made a while ago where I used Graphics2D — it works fine if all you're doing is drawing images, but if you want to rotate / enlarge images or draw polygons (e.g. with fillRect), it slows to a crawl. If you're interested in making more games in Java, I'd recommend checking out LibGDX, as it's pretty simple to use and is built for game development (so it avoids problems like this). |
| Dec 8 21:06:41 | 7m 44s | super rush boyy | ♥ 0 | This is such a fun game! The gameplay is simple, intuitive and really enjoyable — I could easily spend a lot of time trying to beat my high score. Both the graphics and the music are wonderful, and I think that it really nails the whole 'retro' feel. Great job! |
| Dec 8 21:30:13 | 23m 32s | Necromancer | ♥ 1 | Ace game, well done! I love the art and the sound effects, especially the sounds the dogs make :) There were some issues with the skeletons following the necromancer though; they would sometimes get stuck on corners because they just move in a straight line to the necromancer. I would recommend checking out the A* search algorithm (https://www.redblobgames.com/pathfinding/a-star/introduction.html), as it can be implemented to allow NPCs to find an optimal path through complex obstacles. |
| Dec 8 21:42:40 | 12m 27s | Metal Fear | ♥ 1 | Cool idea! I enjoyed the sound effects a lot, and that game over screen made me chuckle. I encountered quite a few glitches with the enemy AI though, and at one point my health got stuck at 0 and I couldn't die for some reason. |
| Dec 8 21:52:04 | 9m 24s | Cosmiring | ♥ 1 | Great job! This is a really cool game with a lot of polish. The map is absolutely enormous with lots of well-designed platforming challenges; well done for managing to make all that in just two days! |
| Dec 8 22:11:44 | 19m 40s | Super Ploogy Rescue | ♥ 1 | This is amazing, I can't believe more people haven't played this yet! The level design is fantastic — it reminds me a bit of Lemmings. The ploogies are very cute... I need to get myself a pet one :P This is easily the funniest game I've played on here so far, you have an ace sense of humour :) |
| Dec 8 22:35:36 | 23m 52s | Dream Roamers | ♥ 1 | This is a great game, well done! The graphics are very well made (especially the enemy designs), and I was really impressed by the quality of the music. The game itself is a lot of fun to play — I'm a big fan of roguelites, so I really enjoyed myself playing this. The limited ammo is a really good gameplay mechanic as it stops you from just blindly shooting, and makes it more meaningful whether or not one of your attacks hits. Huge congratulations for making this amazing game in just 48 hours! |
| Dec 10 10:54:44 | 36h 19m | PLETHORA | ♥ 1 | Really cool concept for a game, fits the theme well. Good job! A tutorial would have been helpful, though, as it took me quite a while to understand the game. |
| Dec 10 11:10:31 | 15m 47s | Glitched | ♥ 1 | Interesting idea! I really liked the variety of visual glitches, it took me by surprise when the entire level was replaced by numbers. A bit more challenge would have been nice, though; the game felt a little too easy. |
| Dec 10 11:18:03 | 7m 32s | The More The Merrier! | ♥ 1 | Excellent game, lots of fun! The art style's very nice, and it's an interesting challenge to try to work out where the shapes should go. |
| Dec 10 11:36:01 | 17m 58s | A simple man | ♥ 1 | I liked this a lot, especially the art style! Well done on managing to create such a cool procedurally-generated world in 48 hours :) To nitpick, though, travelling from the desert to the mountain was a bit tedious, as they're quite far from each other. |
| Dec 19 21:44:40 | 226h 08m | Dungeon Dealer | ♥ 2 | Well done, this is a really cool concept! I like the simplicity of it, and I felt that the icons above the cards communicated the rules of the game very well. The art style is lovely (I especially liked the bat), and the sound effects are top-notch :) |
| Dec 19 22:04:03 | 19m 23s | Duck Guardian | ♥ 1 | Really lovely game, hands down my favourite art style I've seen on here so far. A lot of fun, and I found it pretty amusing whenever I accidentally sent one of the poor ducks flying out of the water :D Great job! |
| Dec 19 22:12:09 | 8m 06s | Rancharoo | ♥ 2 | Ace game! Well done on making such good audio and graphics in such a short space of time :) I found the game a little confusing at first, though; perhaps there could have been a tutorial to teach new players what to do. However, I really enjoyed the game once I started to understand it. Great job! |
| Dec 19 22:43:12 | 31m 03s | Ludum Rest. | ♥ 1 | Great job! This is a really funny concept :D I liked the gameplay a lot; sneaking past the producer was very satisfying. |
| Dec 21 22:13:55 | 47h 30m | Sanguinite | ♥ 1 | Well done, this is a brilliant entry! It's a whole lot of fun to play and although I found it quite difficult, it felt very fair. I really like that you included a detailed story; I don't think I've seen any other entry do that so far. |
| Dec 21 22:24:19 | 10m 24s | High Protein Diet Dungeon | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed this a lot, great job! I love that voxel-ly art style, it looks great :) The gameplay is a lot of fun and the dash attack feels really satisfying to use when you're not very heavy. However, I found the game really confusing at first; I would have appreciated a tutorial to make it easier to understand the game. |
| Dec 21 22:33:14 | 8m 55s | Greedy Dungeons | ♥ 1 | For whatever reason, the game does not respond to any input on the Mac version, making it impossible to even start the game (I'm running Sierra 10.12.6). Sorry I can't play or rate your game at the moment :( I might try to run the Windows version on a virtual machine tomorrow. |
| Dec 21 22:41:56 | 8m 42s | Rhythm Bandit | ♥ 1 | Very cool game! Top marks for innovation; this was a very clever idea, and really well executed too. To nitpick a bit, I found the changing floor colours to be quite disorientating — perhaps the colours could have been a bit less contrasting. |
| Dec 21 22:57:49 | 15m 53s | I'm not here | ♥ 1 | Great job, this is a really fun game that fits the theme very well. You've done a brilliant job at designing some really interesting and challenging puzzles; luring the guards by making noise is a very cool mechanic. |
| Dec 21 23:06:09 | 8m 20s | Red eats Yellow! | ♥ 0 | Cool concept! Really simple but fun gameplay. There's something vaguely unsettling about the slow zooming of the camera (I have no idea why). |
| Dec 22 19:13:32 | 20h 07m | Sorted | ♥ 0 | Pretty cool concept! I like how it can get quickly overwhelming if you go too slow. Well done for getting an online leaderboard working in the 48 hours, that's impressive! It would have been nice if there was something to keep the game interesting for longer; for example, perhaps the chutes could move or change colour? |
