LD28 — You Only Get One

Superly Major Questing Adventure Fun Times by john_conder9 2013-12-17T09:50:00

Since the game's a bit finicky and hard to control, checkpoints would be nice.

Berathen Jam by Venks 2013-12-17T16:01:00

I agree, randomly go thru all the games before repeating.

Castle Uno by SecondDimension 2013-12-22T17:00:00

I'm terrible at platformers, but just made it thru this one. Enjoyed the puzzly nature of the game. The wandering critters were fun, too.

SUMMONING ONE by arcticleaf 2013-12-17T08:32:00

It seems like the player is immobilized between waves for half a minute -- completely unnecessary. It's completely unclear what you're investing in for passive and aggressive talents.

Shadow Night by ParaPup 2013-12-17T10:16:00

Impressive for 48 hours, but not much of a *game.*

The Last Rock by JaviCepa 2013-12-17T08:41:00

More fun than it had any right to be. Picking up the ninja star (or rock, if you insist) in tight spots was trickier than it should be. Also, enemies tended to kill themselves on the star lying on the ground.

Played web version, got to invisible wall before cliff, no bulldozer? Had to commit suicide.

Underbyte by unusualcadence 2013-12-17T17:35:00

Fun, but lacked variety. Blowing stuff up felt good.

Byte's Socks by drkrunk 2013-12-17T16:09:00

Worked fine in OS X 10.7.5. Fun game, nice mechanic.

Old MacDonald vs Zombies by rogueNoodle 2013-12-18T16:42:00

Too fun. Great pixel graphics and blood!

My Old Kentucky Home by emmelineprufrock 2013-12-22T16:38:00

Audio worked in Chrome and Firefox for me, OS X. Maybe it's just me, but it's annoying to listen to lyrics and read text at the same time. Probably one verse of Amazing Grace would have sufficed.

Your writing is solid, very minimal, yet evocative. I would like to see it cleaned up and developed into a longer story. Reminded me a bit of *The Reapers Are the Angels* by Alden Bell, for setting and protagonist (check it out if you haven't read it).

E pluribus unum by IHateATMFees 2013-12-16T19:04:00

Nice mechanic. Be sure to link the Web version on this page.

Mystery Tower by underww 2013-12-17T11:42:00

If you pursue this, maybe make it so inventory is not so limited. Or, if you keep the limitation, remove traditional roguelike curses, etc. and make everything helpful, or immediately identified.

GetYouSoulBack by Zephyr89 2013-12-17T12:45:00

Got stuck, any way to restart a level? Controls are a bit soggy, but nifty concept.

Spell of Old by Tanser 2013-12-17T12:36:00

Why is blinking so complicated? Why not just one left click?

The idea is interesting, not sure how many levels you could make with the concept, though.

Moments of Paranoia by SpellingPhailer 2013-12-17T16:52:00

I think there has to be a repercussion for your choice. There's no connection to any of the characters to begin with, and fade to black robs your decision of any weight. There needs to be an epilogue -- even if you kill one person, it doesn't prove the identity of the other, so there is still ambiguity.

Also, the text needs to be skippable.

SchrotBeton by runvs 2013-12-17T15:44:00

Seemed clunky.

Mono's Cruise by grimgraybeard 2013-12-17T11:36:00

Some interesting ideas, but execution is lacking. Kudos on doing this all for web, though.

GRAIL by pLaw 2013-12-17T17:04:00

Very cool.
I fell down the first gap in the horizontal laser/blade room, didn't die, had to refresh page, start from beginning.

One way out by lennaert 2013-12-17T09:58:00

Good atmosphere, but music loop too short. Not much to go on where to pick up more light and stuff, so doesn't feel like I have many decisions to make.

Experimental Exodus by LexGarza 2013-12-17T15:42:00

Similar to The Binding of Issac. However, kinda clunky and not very good looking.

The Samurai's Lonesome Heart by botwoj 2013-12-17T15:51:00

Had fun, clever, concept could be developed into a long game, I think.

CL1CK by Strangelander 2013-12-17T16:11:00

Thanks for the love, everybody.

Going Around by daredevildave 2013-12-17T04:18:00

Impressive. The only bugs I got were getting hung up on door frames if approached too obliquely, and walking through the desk's surface.

Catchphrase Cowboy by benedict 2013-12-17T12:28:00

Interesting concept, not taken far enough. Your choices don't affect anything important.

PUSH by Patacorow 2013-12-17T15:40:00

Absolutely perfect. Level design is outstanding, not a bad one in the bunch. Extremely polished. Bravo.

Two Options... by GFM 2013-12-17T12:52:00

Bouncy piano music seemed out of place, but speeding it up was effective. Nifty graphics, interesting premise. I got a bug where when I died it seemed to leave a section of ladder instead of a corpse sprite.

TITAN SOULS by Claw 2013-12-17T16:31:00

Too old school, I don't have the patience to walk back after dying instantly each time. However, mind-blowingly beautiful graphics, and perfect soundtrack.

Princess Kingdom by ncannasse 2013-12-22T18:28:00

Inexplicably compelling...
