LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Bones for the Bone God by Azargaz 2018-12-05T17:14:54Z

Great puzzle game with some out of the box thinking very fitting to the theme. Well done! I did run into a small bug: If you saccrifice 2 skeletons that are standing on top of each other, the head of the top skeleton doesn't get removed and just hangs in the air for all eternity  .

Absalom And The Golden Mullet by DBONGames 2018-12-06T16:18:43Z

Great aesthetic! The dark environments and neon lighting made for a very atmospheric experience. On the flip side, it was rather hard to see what is going on at some points. Gameplay was very innovative, although not being able to move the camera around felt a bit limiting when looking for hidden nodes. Music and sound effects were nice and the entire game had a polished feel to it. There were some lighting issues though, which made peering into the dark for connections a bit annoying. Overall, very good, with a good implementation of the theme. Kudos!

Etherium by gil4 2018-12-06T15:30:36Z

Absolutely stunning art and animation. I liked the gameplay loop and the interesting way in which you acquire your attacks. I'm not sold on the theme implementation, but the game is overall very well polished.

Sacré Bleu by resivium 2018-12-05T17:03:10Z

Lovely little puzzle game. The death sound effect was a bit gruesome and loud for something that's played over and over like that, but the rest of the sounds were well balanced, plus the music was good. Some interactions weren't really clear, like painting the key green, so maybe some hints or descriptions of what you encounter would have been helpfull. Made me giggle at the end as well. Great job!

HELL by Smeax 2018-12-06T16:26:40Z

Great little experience. Art style and animations are very well done and the core gameplay is very fun. I think the game could do with some balancing (both enemy health and audio levels :P) but on the whole it delivers a very satisfying experience with a good implementation of the theme. Well done!

ImminENT Danger by Ncadieux 2018-12-06T16:36:41Z

Very well made. Solid animations and art as well as an interesting premise. Music and sound effects were a bit minimal, but that didn't get in the way of gameplay. Because the ent's movement speed is always slower than that of the player, it's rather easy to cheese the game by continuously moving in one direction, effectively halving the number of ents you have to kill. This did cause a buildup of ents offscreen which started to cause lag issues around the 4 minute mark, as well as practically removing the need to sacrifice your torch light, but I'll judge that in the spirit of the game. Other than that balancing issue, very solid entry. Good job!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Elthus by ejmejm 2019-04-30T07:33:00Z

Fun little platformer. I like the hookshot mechanics, although because it had no cooldown or resource cost, it made the jump upgrades almost completely useless. I would have liked a bit more of a connected feel between your life and the resources you spend, because it felt a bit more like a timer than a resource/life bar that lowers when you perform actions. Otherwise good implementation of the theme.

Ice Crime by Piller Yann 2019-04-30T12:43:13Z

What a happy, fun game. Good graphics and sound (did you make all of them yourselves?), lovely little tune in the background. The movement felt slippery, which makes sense since snowman and all. The people did'nt seem to pose much of a threat though. They just ran away from me, not really hurting me in the slightest. Great job!

Glad - Gladiators! by saulodaniel 2019-04-30T11:49:39Z

Amazing art and music. Really fantastic. Maybe I missed something but the special attacks didn't seem to work? Would have liked to hear some sound effects. (Edit: woops, just had my sound turned down, sound effects were great as well ) Also, I didn't really get the theme. In what way was life your currency? The control screen appeared before every other screen, even the credits and following your kill order got you punished anyway, so it seemed a bit buggy. Fun concept for a pvp game though. Being only able to kill a specific player without punishment is very interesting.

Ticker Clicker Defence by smiley 2019-04-30T12:36:18Z

Wow, great game! Absolutely love the aesthetic and sound. Worked together really well to create a wonderful atmosphere. I did eventually die to a bug. Opening two upgrade dialogues, buying one upgrade, not having enough health for the second one but still being able to buy it and then dying. No big deal as I mainly did it to see what would happen :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Very well done.

Knight Time by Kodiqi 2019-04-30T07:06:03Z

Interesting concept. The dungeon crawler card system kind of reminds me of The Guild of Dungeoneering. Not sure I like the colour scheme you went for though. White, Cyan and slightly greener Cyan doesn't make for great legibility and I found it hard at times to see what square I was on, or even where the first starting square was.

invertebrae by jjjjason 2019-05-01T07:50:25Z

Whew! What a ride. Extremely innovative way of doing a text adventure. Loved the music even though it was only like a 8 second loop. Fun gameplay, although some solutions were rather ambiguous (I did need the walkthrough to get the ending). Very well done.

Credit Card Rampage by playball 2019-04-30T15:31:06Z

Yep, thanks @lamossus. We'll upload the fixed version soon. Thanks for playing. :)

PizzoTyping by Carpin 2019-04-30T13:47:21Z

Haven't played a typing game in a long time. Good execution although it seems to sometimes drop inputs. That and the apostrophe doesn't work very well. Other than that, great art, good sound, good theme. Great job.

Leap by Adam Elaoud 2019-05-01T08:17:13Z

Great entry for your first LD. Love the pixel art. Haven't seen an infinite runner yet this jam, forgot that genre was even a thing XD. Music was nice and happy. Good execution overall. Great job.

Lonely Heart by Centauri 2019-04-30T11:29:47Z

Nice art, good music and sound, decently fun gameplay. Great job! I wish that you got a little more feedback during combat because it was hard to judge if you hit/got hit. Some feedback on cooldowns would be appreciated as well. I was able to cheese the boss as part of the arena had a deadzone and he didn't shoot back. Overall solid entry.

Ente by J0ye 2019-04-30T14:05:48Z

Extremely innovative. Most interesting interpretation of the theme I've seen so far. _Your life_ is currency. Brilliant. The sound effects and visuals created a great atmosphere, although the walking sound got a bit annoying after a while.

Drop of life by dusterherz 2019-04-30T11:39:54Z

Wicked art and animation. Love the little swaying in the trees and water. It does seem like you can just move through all obstacles though, so the rocks, trees and pillars don't seem to actually physically be there. I think some more feedback about attack range would have been nice, as it was hard to judge how far your attacks reach. Well made music as well, it really help set the mood. Would have liked to hear some other sound effects but well done regardless. EDIT: I see now that the music was royalty free from a youtube channel. Did one of the developers make this? If not, you should really remove yourself from the audio category as you didn't make any of it yourself.

For the captain. For the ship. by Retti01 2019-04-30T09:07:06Z

Nice little game. Sailing around was fun, even though it took me a while to figure out you had to come to a stop in order to land on an island. I died at the first enemy who was multiple times stronger than me, which wasn't very nice, but overall good job

The Last Drop by Fiiction 2019-05-01T08:10:57Z

Awesome game. Art looks really good, music is great. I love the light/dark fade in between levels. I would have liked additional sound effects as it feels a bit empty without them. Creative concept of investing your health like that. Very cool

Hearts for Coins by Cubicode 2019-05-01T07:25:29Z

Fun little platformer. I like the idea of exchanging resources like this. The theme could have been a bit stronger. Music was nice but got a bit repetetive quickly, especially with the 8-bit like sounds you used. Good job overall.

Escape from Hell by Becher 2019-04-30T09:22:10Z

Absolutely amazing art, very well done. Decent implementation of the theme too. This game could have done with some sound, but the quietness is it's own atmosphere. Having to respawn near death everytime got a bit tedious and the game was actually really easy after only a minute of gathering souls, but very well done nonetheless.

Heart Sacrificer by Ruztan 2019-04-30T12:21:44Z

Fun little small game. Digging the art and music. Really gave me an atari vibe almost. I like the double jump mechanic. Really innovative way of doing it. It is quite a difficult game with some tricky jumps. Also, dying in level 2 spawns you in a broken location with an invisible wall to the right, and endless void to the left. It was overall quite easy to walk out of the map. Well done overall.

PayTime by aqws3 2019-05-01T07:12:44Z

Interesting concept. The whole thing gave me a bit of a 'Papers Please' vibe. I'm not that fond of math as a game mechanic, but I won't hold that against you. I didn't hear any audio in the game. Is that intended? If so you should remove the _audio_ category from the ratings.

Lifleline Warriors by Narrenschlag 2019-04-30T12:28:02Z

Solid work for a (almost) single man team. Good art, fun gameplay. I love the little _swoosh_ effects on the melee weapons. There appears to be a broken upgrade in the shop. It just shows a white square and you can't buy it. Otherwise, great work!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Volleybody by Ramperkash 2020-04-21T18:18:43Z

It's quite a tricky game, but I like the idea of this keepy-uppy thing. The level design makes it a bit unplayable unfortunately. For example, you can't jump up to the floating box on the left side from the raised up part in the middle, making traversal from low to high only possible via the very small corridor on the left. Would have loved some simple sound effects too, as right now the game is very quiet.

Package Panic: Always On Time by soldierbear 2020-04-21T18:31:27Z

I think I know what's causing all the accidents in this town. It's the delivery man's truck, skating along like it's on ice! I love the style and animation. It's very wobbly, like it's made of playdough or something. The truck physics were a bit wonky in that it could tip over during turns and then would slowly enter the ground, but nothing super gamebreaking. Nice job.
