Very cool and interesting game, reminds me a lot of Inscryption and Hearthstone, love me a good card battler and honestly would love to see an extended version of this one day

There is no way you guys made a card battler game with the unique mechanic of altering your cards, nice music and visuals and engaging gameplay.
I am at a loss of words. Truly amazing work!
Wow cool stuff, especially the card's art style. I enjoy the temple one. But I don't hear much of the music.
Very cool game, looks very polished, i was kinda lost with the gameplay.
Love the game. Well balanced and top notch art!
Everything is good on a technical level. The music is nice, the artwork is awesome, I didn't find any bugs. Even the ai isn't too dumb. The issue is that this is a very generic card game, on a gameplay level it's basically the same as hearthstone, it doesn't bring any original mechanics or any twist to the genre. Kind of a bummer when you consider the amount of work it must have taken to make such a polish game in such little time.
Very cool game, love the card's art. So much potential with all the theory crafting that you can do (and possibly a lot of exploits too). Great game
Nice card game ! Really like the visuals of the cards
You have done an amazing job balancing this under the jam constraints. I really like the idea of modifying your cards. notes on mechanics:
With the card creator mechanic I just feel that it is begging me to create a completely broken deck, full of creatively overpowered cards that have some insane synergies. But I doesn't seem to let me. I tried a bunch of different combinations, and while they worked very well, they just didn't feel broken. Since you have drawn inspiration from Inscryption, I think you will understand what I mean.
I have a bit of a problem with the attack random enemy mentality of auto battlers in general. It just feels to me that it is taking out a very welcome strategical element from the gameplay i.e. being able to predict the outcome of ending your turn. But this is a general discussion with valid points on both sides and not really aimed at your submission. though I would like to hear your thoughts on this :)
the deck builder is very engaging, I spend quite a bit of time there. it would be nice if you could layout your deck in the middle to get a better overview of what you are working with. the base cards being in the side drawer if you need to create a new modification.
Cool entry, innovative approach, love the deck building.
Well this game could very well be sold as early access right now. The animations are sometimes a bit slow but otherwhise this looks like a marketable game to me. Great game!!
What a cool idea! I used to play a lot of hearthstone back in the day and there were always complaints about how unbalanced that game is so it's really cool to see a game give players an opportunity to balance the game themselves! I enjoyed making my own deck and the game plays almost exactly like hearthstone, which I like. The one thing that didn't sit well with me was the UI, the cards were way too big and the board got stacked very quickly. Nicely done!
I am really surprised by the amount of content you put into this game in three days. Great work!
Awesome! I'm a big fan of card games and enjoyed this one too! Nice feature with building your own cards, but I'm too lazy for that -_- good thing there is a predefined deck :) Cards are stylish! Very solid entry and great job.
Really really good! Pretty much Hearthstone just more relaxed and I like that! well done!
Funny game, but a little bit unbalanced. Enemy effects stack too hard
This is really impressive! This game looks and sounds great, and plays well. Being able to change card stats adds a whole new dimension. I haven't got through all the challenges yet but I think I'll be coming back to this one!
Really impressive visually and audio wise, the gameplay was very reminiscent of Inscryption for sure.
Graphics and presentation was really nice. I'm not much into card games, so I didn't really understand what was going on and just clicked randomly until something happened, managed to win a game regardless. Nice job!
Fantastic result for such tight amount of time. Great entry!
The last level was quite tricky until I found the unit that counters it heavily. Lets just say the enemy ended its life with -76 HP once my unit was able to attack through its unit spam  .
Very impressive submission, if all those systems were coded in 72 hours from scratch you guys are amazing. If you had some code prepared for this sort a game it is still very impressive.
Not gonna lie...that was kinda addicting. Thanks for the game! Sometimes the "hit a random enemy"-mechanic is not really rewarding, but overall the game feels very polished and it was a nice experience.
Cool game, I liked it!
Phew. Beat all the challenges. Here is my deck for the final one:enddeck.jpg
I even went to "fatigue" with previous version of it. A lot of clear. A bit more damage and health for cleave (to kill shields). Poison for uber hamster.
Impressive game. Its polished and well thought through and through..
This was so good! the art looks amazing. sound effects were very good. I didn't really try customizing the cards because I was a bit overwhelmed with it all, but I could see now that I know the game how it could be really fun.
Very impressive!
I love it! As a TCG fan, I feel like this one could be a serious competitor if release as a full game! I love the sequenced combat mechanic, as well as the random attack targets. I'm also a big fan of the artworks
Wow, really awesome game. Cool mood and atmosphere. The Gameplay is very nice, and the graphics are also great. And the detail that you can customize the cards is awesome — every Card Game should have that. You all have done a great job!
Tricky to make a card game with unique card mechanics in such a short time, well done overall
Wow this entry is great! 5/5! Very polished, it felt complete! Just needs pvp now ;)
I assume the ai plays random cards out of their deck, but the deck creation is versatile enough to give them "playstyles"? If not I can't imagine how you manage to make that work in so little time!? and obviously no shame if that is what it does - the ai feels great. Great variation of cards and the game is easy enough to just pick up with out reading a block of text. I played until I won all battles and needed need to update the deck when it didn't work against one of the decks, and that just felt perfect. You also manage to have a cohesive look of every thing.
The feedback I have is that maybe there could have been some sort of indicator that the target is picked at random (maybe a sound effect of a dice roll, or that it turns to a couple of targets before it locks in on the correct one). I played the game once without checking the tutorial, and that was really the only thing I went to the tutorial after to clarify. I think also allowing the player to decide what position a card is played in would be quite a small feature that would allow for a lot more strategy. But then again I'm amazed how polished it is so it wouldn't surprise me if you used all time you had. Great job!
Amazing entry for only 3 days time, the art and music are nice and pleasing, was impresed with the big variety of cards, i did try to customize my deck but ended up sticking to the default one. Great work!
I don't usually play cards, but after trying it I'm surprised. Put your game aside and come back to it quietly after the game jam. Nice graphics and design, nice job!
Very cool concept and a well polished entry, to say the least! Loved all the card arts and the BGM was super chill. Great job!
i had my own cheesy strat set, and it coasted me through until the final level. that is where it became quite tough, but after bashing my head against the wall and playing with luck of the draw, i was able to get it.
I really liked this game, in fact i was trying to pitch my team to do a card battler too, but i was outvoted.
Wow! I can't believe you did all this in a weekend!
It was a very fun game and quite well polished. Loved it 10/10 would play again :)
very fun! although i found it pretty difficult
the ability to customize cards definitely adds a lot of longevity to the gameplay
Thanks everyone for your responses! We work hard to try and make this idea happen. Our goal was to allow players to create their own cards, but it turns out making a cardgame out of nothing is a lot of work haha. Glad we managed to get it working in the end .
@blank-3d the auto battle part was mostly done for scope. We wanted to make sure the card creation got in so we decided on an auto card battler. If we were to continue devloping this idea, that is definitly the first thing we'll look at.
@bjornstenlund the AI is indeed mostly random. We tried to 'program' the AI by giving them cards of the right costs to allow them to play them in the right order, combined with only giving them 4 or 5 unique cards to ensure somewhat consistent behavior.
@batisdark thanks for playing and getting to the end! Great to see you used the card creation system to overcome specific challenges, that was exactly the intent. I see you have a lot of area damage which seems appropiate for the final challenge.
I'm a huge fan of deckbuilders (I made one too) - nice work putting together such an ambitious one so quickly!
Some feedback: - I loved the card art and iconography
- The music is great - especially the intro track
- It was a bit overwhelming being faced with dozens of cards with heaps of ways to customise them when I clicked "Start game". I think it'd be better to introduce this slowly, or send the player straight into an easy combat.
- It would have been good to show the cards in hand on screen all the time. Having to hover to see the text makes it a bit difficult for a new player.
- My initial hand (I only added one card to the deck I was given) was all 8+ cost cards, and I couldn't play anything for the first few turns. The starting deck should probably have some cheaper cards (or maybe I got unlucky). - (very trivial thing) The "End turn" button felt a bit out of place. I think because games like Hearthstone/Slay the Spire/Magic put it on the right/bottom.
- It would have been nice to have descriptions of keywords (although I recognised them all from other games).
- The ability to edit cards is cool! I liked the balancing (eg: adding extra skeletons to Necrohamster multiplied the cost increase by the skeleton stats). This (and choosing which enemy to fight) made it feel more like a sandbox than a game. It would have been good to be able to modify the deck over time with small changes.
Awesome work!
Really cool card game with some excellent visuals. While I didn't ticker a lot with the card changing mechanics what I tried was quite fun. The combat itself was excellent especially the whole UI/cards control (I wish our card game had such elegant UI/control). Great job!
It's impressive that you were able to pull this off in 3 days. I appreciate the procedural animations during the autobattle – they do a great job of showing what's going on. I also like the art style and I found it to be super consistent and interesting. Generally I had a good time playing through challenges, and experimenting with card modifications/deckbuilding. That being said, because the game obviously borrows heavily from Hearthstone, I found myself expecting things like the mulligan mechanic and more control over the unit order. The card editor was interesting, however I feel that the mana cost increase from changing a single stat was a little too steep.
I may be a little biased, but I love deckbuilders like this. Beautiful art, nice clear gameplay loop. Excellent work!
Wow! A truly great game. I love the art style and the mechanics are so cool especially for 72 hours. There is a lot of replayability in this little game and I'd love to see it become an app or something because I'd be addicted! Really good job and I'll be keeping my eye on this one :D
It's really interesting how you approached it, but I think the biggest problem of the game is that it's not auto-battler. You still have to play cards and you still have to control the game process quite seriously to be a game focused on card craft. In addition I think the default cards are working well enough to not even touch them.
I think if you'd focus more on card crafting it might be really interesting take on the theme.
However I'd like to say that visual execution is really good and for me only lack of OST / SFX was really a bit problem to feel the impact.
This is so fantastic, the art and creativity is great and the challenges are definitely difficult and varied. Still working on beating them all but I thought this was excellent.
