Super fun! So mnay different powerups and proper customization, definitely a great entry! The game is a bit easy but thats fine, and has a few crashes. But thats what you can expect from a 48 hours game of this size. The fists felt a bit usseless though, compared to just running around dodging and autofiring

rhewid 2022-04-04 07:52

@bosco thanks for playing, great you enjoyed it. Oh no sorry that it had crashes, feel free to send me those :)

i really enjoyed playing and learning this game. the characters and enemies sprites are really well done. i liked the variations between the different slimes. the build up of slimes is really fun because you can spec your character to handle different situations. its great learning about the different attacks and powerups. they all seem really unique and it doesnt feel like you have just repeated the same thing with a different look. the ui could be improved slightly as when i was reading some of the info letters weren't rendering correctly. but all in all i thought this was a well executed game.

A bit easy but honestly that is best for entries IMO, ensures a good play through. Best of all it had a fun factor. Art was good. I did have one crash right after the game started but it seemed fine at that. Nice job

It's a cool recreation of VS game, there are bugs (you can push ennemies out of bound in the tutorial sometimes menu stay displayed), and the menu interface maybe little confuse, but you added a lot of things and weapon and that's work fine !

heremeus 2022-04-04 14:21

This was a lot of fun to play, thanks for that! Many different effects that actually changed with upgrade levels (the lightning was impressive!). Though I must say, without the aura upgrade, I wasn't able to survive the first charge of enemies. I would definitely play a longer version :)

twinkietalks 2022-04-04 16:51

It is really well made! I think there are a lot of mechaics here that could be fleshed out into their own thing, there are obviously some visual drawbacks and glitches here and there but this is very much a complete experience and I like it!

andreadbx 2022-04-04 17:57

Well made game! Had a blast with this on stream!

zackavelli 2022-04-04 20:26

Really impressed with the amount of content you were able to get into the game. Had a lot of fun playing. If I had to critique something, I would say the UI could have been presented a little cleaner.

I enjoyed playing this a lot, and looking at the source code has taught me a few tricks with GMS too. Brilliant!

I see we had similar inspirations for our games :).

Very solid entry. The level up screen had a lot of info which is a nice change in most Jam games. I thought there was no sound until I saw the sound bar in the level up screen which was defaulted to nothing so I thought that was a bit odd. It felt good to run around and hit a ton of enemies with each ability triggering. I think you've got a good base here for an endless mode if you wanted to try that. I've got an endless mode build ready for ours just because I'm curious if the scaling eventually outpaces the player.

Good job!

Pretty solid game! There's a lot packed in here for a compo entry. It can get pretty crazy when you have so many abilities all going off at once. I will say that the optimal strategy did seem to be to just run away. Overall, there's not much for the player to engage with since most of the abilities are automatic. But, overall, a solid entry with a lot of content. Nice work!

coderaurus 2022-04-05 08:02

The game looks fun, but I'm having issues running it on my PC (anti-virus blocks). Can you make a web build?

who 2022-04-05 10:45

Haha, awesome! Lots of us seem to have similar ideas to the popular game, except lots of yours is much closer related to Vampire Survivors than mine is. Great implementation and amazed at the amount of content you were able to get into it.

erikengineengineer 2022-04-05 13:01

I liked the Scythe so much in your game  dash in combination with astral arrow was pretty useful!

zimennik 2022-04-05 13:02

Very fun game! The upgrade system is pretty interesting. The game itself is somewhat reminiscent of the old games like "Crimsonland" (only much less bloody)

otterfaelure 2022-04-05 13:31

Loved it! Played it twice. I'm biased, I love slimes, but my goodness that was wonderful. Thank you! :D

benskca 2022-04-05 13:43

Great game with a tonne of content, especially for compo! I like how many different builds you can go for and how much your playstyle varies with the different weapons. I think you captured what makes vampire survivors so fun pretty perfectly, great job!

melektaus 2022-04-05 21:47

All I can say is, "It's a shame it's over already", I had a lot of fun with it. And really a lot of content for a compo game. Nice work

From one Slime game creator to another, hats off to you! Really cool to find out which skills sync well together. Had to get used to the hitbox a little bit in the beginning but very solid entry overall!

itskdog 2022-04-05 22:11

Nice animations with the slimes. Could use some UI improvement. I accidently closed the game when I thought it was to close the window.

nyanpierre 2022-04-05 22:13

I had a little trouble with the UI. but the gameplay works well, we feel the inspiration and it makes the game fun (especially with slimes)

ukulelefury 2022-04-05 22:52

:) This is very fun! I also struggled with the UI a little at first, but I really like the simple kiting gameplay, and all the upgrades are really satisfying. And really nice pixels! The music starts too quiet, and isn't very interesting.

n-o-games 2022-04-07 21:01

Really cool game. It feels really good to punch/scythe/thunderstorm all those pesky slimes at once. I do wish there was music though but really fun to play. Great submission.

steve7411 2022-04-09 21:17

This has a solid game loop and implementation, especially for a compo entry. I also like the character and slime artwork. Having the powerups that exist on the map is also a nice touch to encourage exploration.

miltonnh25 2022-04-10 00:24

Great job on the game. There is quite a bit of variety in the different weapons and upgrades that made it pretty fun to play around with. The dash felt pretty good to dodge around with and it was overall a fun time to play. One thing I did notice though is that there is a lot of pausing, opening up the menu to assign a skill and then closing it which slowed down the pace of the game. It might have been helpful to have the menu automatically open and close when you assign your skills to make it a bit faster and flow better. Still though very nice game.

bluishgreenpro 2022-04-10 00:32

Thanks for submitting your game to my stream! I enjoyed trying the game during your interview

burchyn 2022-04-10 15:01

Amazing game! We were betrayed by Windows but our second run was more successful against the Slime King XD

rjhelms 2022-04-12 00:53

I struggled to get the hang of this, but it was fun to play with the different skills & powerups to see what worked.

chybby 2022-04-20 12:16

Impressive number of skills to unlock! Very satisfying watching an arrow shoot through a big pile of slimes.

Found it annoying that you could only punch left or right, not up or down. I didn't end up taking it at all on my winning run.
