Very nice and clean execution.

vrglab 2021-10-04 07:57

This is in my top 10 jam games made

faux-grey 2021-10-04 11:59

This is pretty dope. Could easily pass off as a good fast puzzle game. Menus & UI are very tidy. Music is simple yet fitting. Well done!

meredori 2021-10-04 12:02

Was playing for a while and forgot I was reviewing for the game jam, shows how much fun your game is.

pavocado 2021-10-04 12:02

Very polished!

yamzho 2021-10-04 12:05

Very nice game, reminds me of World of Goo which I love!

euske 2021-10-04 12:05

This reminds me of an open source game named caph.

arachnid56 2021-10-04 12:05

Great idea and amazingly polished. Had a lot of fun playing this; it was both relaxing and stimulating. Fantastic job

rafael-garcez 2021-10-04 12:07

I really liked it! Can play it for hours

ivysly 2021-10-04 12:17

Really clean and cute puzzle game. I am usually no good at these games but this one had a good difficulty curve and is very engaging. I would have added a reset-level button for simplicity.

pdotjpg 2021-10-04 12:38

Really classic and clean design, nicely done. Takes me back to playing World of Goo :) Very fun.

I did find an exploit where I can snake my way up to a higher platform, build a foundation there, and cut the lines I used to get there, all without entering build mode: ld1.jpg

Also, the physics completely spazzed out when I tried using balloons.

If those two issues were fixed and a replay button was added, I wouldn't guess it was made in only 48 hours. So good job!

2021-10-04 12:39

Really love this concept! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/d0CZearFG8U

@mborecki @vrglab @faux-grey @meredori @pavocado @yamzho @arachnid56 @rafael-garcez @ivysly Thank you everyone for your feedbacks, I am glad you liked the game :)

@euske I looked it up, it looks fun! thanks for the recommandation :)

@pdotjpg Ahah I discovered this exploit yesterday one hour before the end of the jam and at this point it was already too late! I have also seen some physics glitchs in the balloon level, I will investigate on those!

There is no "replay" button but you can reload easily your level by using the level selection (cog at the topright). Time got the best of me, I will probably add one on a postjam version of this game (along with a "mute" button for music and sound).

martin-magni 2021-10-04 17:54

Verlet rocks! World of Goo may have made them well known, but so much more can be done with it. Like this highly focused building game! I used the level wall as support, dunno if that's an intended solution, I felt like a less accomplished builder for doing so. ':)

rocketcat241 2021-10-04 20:31

Great game! The music really fit and the idea is perfect for the theme. If there was some way to reload the level while keeping your structure this game would feel really good.

recursor 2021-10-04 21:01

Yes definitely a world of Goo vibe in the best possible way. Bonus points for using verlets. they are cool.

rzfmzn 2021-10-04 21:40

Awesome game! so far the one I liked the most :) great job :D

cinderblock 2021-10-04 22:13

Throw this bad boy on all the mobile game stores, you've got yourself a finished product here!

For real, the idea is very simple, but it works really really well as a casual puzzle game, its basically ready for release! Just make sure you release enough levels for the masses, and you've got yourself a hit!

Some physics systems didn't really play toooooo well with each other, like I was able to make the structure go haywire with the balloons, but honestly, it didn't take away from the fun at all.

I loved that I was able to get rid of the "default" structures for more lines. That was genius. Not restricting the player to build off of what the level tells them they have to build off of!

Overall, absolutely fantastic!

candlesan 2021-10-05 02:13

This was super fun! I loved attaching all the lines. The balloon level was super fun too. I'm not sure if this was intentional but it's possible to win some of the mid-tier levels (4-8) by drawing a series of lines and then deleting all the early lines and just building a new set of supports on the higher platforms. Regardless - really fun. Loved the balloon levels, that was really great.

rock-gong 2021-10-06 09:57

Very impressive UI design! I love this game since I like games like World of Goo and some bridge structure games.

parttimeindie 2021-10-06 10:05

Cool game reminds me of bridge builder ;)

enya454 2021-10-06 10:31

Twas a good game it was. Much like world of goo which was one of my favourite games when I was younger. It's just fun to tinker about and try to do things as best as posible. Though probably tricky due to time restraints, but maybe a ghostly line which shows whether or not a point can be bridged to another point when built much like polybridge would have been nice. That didn't affect my judgement but it would be nice if you plan on working on this beyond the game jam. Great job!

rodrigo-sousa 2021-10-06 10:39

cool game! well polished! made me think of super cool world of goo

geckoo1337 2021-10-06 10:48

Clever and well done. Of course, it reminds me World Of Goo and other construction games, but yours is really pleasant. You did a solid casual game. I guess that it could be graphically improved, but it is good enough. Addictive. Music is a little bit repetitive. One of my favorite entries for the 49th LudumDare. Congratulations for your project ++

robert-li 2021-10-06 11:05

Clean design! Straightforward gameplay!

gaming-night 2021-10-06 11:39

Wow, really nice game !! Blueprint graphics fits perfectly with the concept. With more polish on UI and audio I can buy this game ;)

namnam 2021-10-06 12:58

Noce concept very world of gooish as said before. I think controles could have been a bit more intuitive but it is a well executed game :)

runuchok 2021-10-06 13:20

As @pdotjpg said, sutation where you can make a foundation without running simulation for me considering as cheese))) (I think this was intended way anyways) But make this kind of game in 48 hours, my honor for you! Great job, graphics are pleasing and physics nature of game make it really fun!

fae-pdf 2021-10-06 14:12

Very cute game! Big World of Goo vibe of course. Classic idea but the theme shines through. Graphic design is slick. Wonky physics with the balloon and inconsistent interactions between the dots, lines, and the walls made it a bit weird, but it was pretty fun with a nice amount of challenge. Not very innovative, but very competently executed. Great entry!

haematite 2021-10-08 18:06

Really love this game, very polish and fits the theme really well. I love puzzle games like this and I'm really impressed this has been made in a weekend. I can definitely see this as a mobile game, and a successful one too. The best game I've played on here so far

rengo 2021-10-08 18:54

pretty good not very creative though

filgru 2021-10-08 20:52

Wow! Really cool game, I spent an hour already playing it...! The game fits the theme nicely. Idea is simple and well delivered. Cool graphics and music. Now, it's time to be creative! I want to reach the last level!!! :)) One of the best games so far! Well done!

mmason 2021-10-09 13:01

I enjoyed it, I felt like I was really doing something by snaking up and building above the line until the later levels when it needed to be in a box.

jackaljk 2021-10-09 13:06

Great concept and execution! It looks good too. Reaching the stars to get more lines seems kind of pointless since you can just build a structure that stretches there, collect the star and then erase it all. It would have made more sense if you had to encompass the star in order to unlock the additional lines. Anyway the game is fun and engaging, well done!

yopox 2021-10-09 13:42

Nice entry :) I have noticed that it is possible to connect the same nodes multiple times!

I love the title screen made with the engine, really clever!

zimny11 2021-10-09 20:01

The idea is unique, I did not see anything similar in this LD. The in-game mechanics feels good and the music fit nicely with the game. I would love to have an undo button (or did I miss something?). After attaching the balloon in the last level, the game glitched, and the whole construction start to shake all over the place. Besides that, great game!

tatu-heinamaki 2021-10-09 23:34

Fantastic game and a great interpretation of the theme! Fun physics always work. The blueprint aesthetic is just superb, all down to the font of the text - I just love it. My tower engineering skills took me as far as Hike (before I started abusing the snake-to-platform exploit). Will remember this one!

phi 2021-10-10 19:27

This reminds me a lot of World of Goo and Poly Bridge, but with a kind of strange mix of real-time mechanics and strategic planning. When the simulation is running and I'm building at the same time, the lines can stretch to lengths that exceed the normal range radius.

And I'm not sure if this is intended, but it lets me build anywhere if I just draw a line to where I want to build and keep deleting the previous lines... When I use this strategy, the fact that the starting point in this level starts so low just feels annoying, rather than a restriction I have to consider when planning:

2021-10-10_21-22.png

Also, a quick way to reset the entire level would have been useful.

But overall, this is a solid physics game, and a quite polished one at that! With some more intricate level design, this could already be a fun little casual mobile game!
