Hey Bro, glad to see you have join the event! Sorry, I haven't join it for this and the last one so I can't rate your game but I will still play and have feedback for your game after I play!
@al19890604 Wow long time no see! That's sad you can't join the recently LD, you must be busy with something else. Anyway glad to see you here and thank you for your support!
This is awesome! I had so much fun playing it. 5 stars for sure.
Haha! Quite aside from the fact the character reminds me of Terrance & Philip from South Park, this is actually quite a tricky game with some nice features like the slow-mo. Full marks for fun and innovation.
One of the funniest games I've played! Great concept!
I passed all the stages. Yay! This is actually a very fun game. I admire how you intepreted the theme and come with such a brilliant idea. Love pulling limbs and seeing how blood sprays!
Haha, really unique kind of puzzle game and very fun! It was first to understand mechanics at the start but once you get the hang of it you can get really experimental. Big plus for slow-motion!
This is just perfect xD
Seeing your screen shots, I wish there was a 3D close up view mode thingy :3
hi there, it's nice to see your game again. I played your ld#41 work. Back to this game, I got a similar idea when brainstorming, but I did't come out a nice mechanism. Your game mechanism is exactly fit the theme and also very fun to play. TIM图片20181203232322.png Finally passed this lv.lol. Really enjoyed play your game. Great job, I rate a lot of 5 star for this one.
Thanks for playing and the kind words! @arkiruthis I love terrance and phillip! I didn't think about them when I was making this game but indeed they are kind of similar. :joy:
@lanik2000 Wow that is good idea! I thought about giving player ability to zoom in/out but I didn't implement it. Maybe I should let player zoom in at 3D view to enjoy their "Art" after they completed the level. That will be awesome!
@sanyingli Thanks for your patience :joy: There are still more level!
I like it! Pulling the limbs is really satisfying and it's pretty challenging too. You definitely have my points for Fun! :D
Ha! This is a great interpretation of the theme - I'm glad I'm not the only one who did a dismemberment game. The physics work well and the level design makes for some challenging puzzles. Great work!
I am stucking at the level as same as @sanyingli hahaha. The game is funny and nicely designed. But I think the pulling limbs could be more "sensitive" as sometime I try to pull, for example, the leg many times but it still can't be pull out (the leg is highlighted). Overall I think it is a great entry!! With further polishing, I think it could be a successful puzzle game!
@al19890604 by sensitive do you mean you can pull out the limbs more easily? like https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=43&v=L5kbITdurSc is not sensitive?
Or do you mean sometime you can't pull the right limbs you want when they stacked up?
These two issues are both should be improved!
Btw thanks for coming back!
@goldranger It seems you didn't normalized the value when you calculate the vector between the mouse click point and the cannon. So even if I clicked the same direction, the closer I clicked from the cannon, the less launching power would be. I'm not sure if it was a bug or designed intentionally, so I just mentioned there to let you know.
It took me a while to figure it out, but it was a fun learning experience ;)
There's no theme song, but I found my self singing Yakety Sax in my head the whole time.
@sanyingli that's designed, I wrote "distance = power" at the first level :joy: but that's kind of my level design problem which doesn't let players feel they need to control the fire power.
@mrspeaker haha that kind of music really fit this game and it can level up the gameplay experience! However, I don't really know how to create good music so yeah that' sad
Cool idea executed really well. Pulling the limbs off the guy makes a really satisfying pop noise. And in the game! Overall though, the polish was really great, and it all felt really good. Great job!
@goldranger yeah! what I mean is just like the footage you have posted
Thant's the funnies game from this edition I played so far!
But I did had some issues using the main mechanic - it didn't seem to work always for me, perhaps I was doing something wrong
Such a cool concept and a well made game! Only thing I didn't like was the graphics, which are pretty basic, but damn, the rest is awesome! Well done!
@chao @kornel @andrea Thanks for playing and glad you guys love it!
Kornel can you please state the issues more clearly? Maybe I can fix it! Or you may also take a look at the walkthrough video I posted, maybe it can help. Thanks!
Andrea Yeah the graphics are really basic, I only use blender to make a simple Trapezoid model, and the rest are only cubes and sphere! but hay at least the face is pretty neat, aren't it? :joy: face3.PNG
Ahhh, so I only need the head to go through... that makes stage sense  I didn't understand that you can like almost put him apart and still clear a level
Thank's for pointing me to your video
@kornel NICE! glad you figure it out
Have you thought about turning it in to a mobile game? It would work so well with touch controls!
@kornel Yes of course! This kind of little game is suitable on mobile and touching to pull limbs, erhh that feel great even if I am just imagining it! However, that's kind of difficult the design proper user interaction because they will need to pull a small guy's limbs in a large space! That' ll need a lot of work to make it comfortable to play with.
Slow motion with zoom included? Like: you do slow mo and the camera automatically zooms in - just thinking out loud
好玩,谜题设计也逐渐深入,双齿轮那关实在是过不去,卡关了。
@kornel Yeah you are right! I think this will be the main direction to implement it! but I don't want to bother about it too much right now :joy: I will leave it to the time when I am really developing it.
@gao-ming it's such an honor to hear this from you!
Ah, I just want to say Thanks, I learn a lot of things about level design from your articles!
However, I know the level design in my game is not good enough, maybe it is ok for a jam but yeah still really excited to get your approval.
And I just add a button to help to unlock all the level in the level selection scene, feel free to check out
Really great game with a really good learning curve. I would just say that the last level feels a bit managed by luck as you need to have a good position but maybe I am just lacking skills xD
Love this! Genuinely enjoyed playing :) There were a couple of glitches here and there when I shot the cannon at full power... the body would fly everywhere!
My main criticism is a small one: the edge of the level was off the screen, so it was difficult to move the character (when standing) by a click to move mechanic. May be just make the exit point visible on screen?
Well done!!
Brilliant idea and execution. I wish I was the one to come up with this :) You did great. Make it a final a final game and I can assure people will play the hell out of that on their phones. The level design can be a little bit more forgiving, other than that. Well done :)
Great game! It's like "Kill the Bad Guy" meets "Angry Birds". I'm ashamed to say I enjoyed taking those limbs out, haha. I've reach the God of Freedom, so everything's ok right now. Thank you!
Lol very funny concept / idea. The gameplay is nice as well, the slow motion is very well done. Some music would have made it perfect!
Good job.
One of the funniest and bests game concepts I've seen so far at LD43. amazing!
Thanks all for spending time on my game and the kind words! Glad to hear that!
@supergobo I am sorry about the gitches, and your criticism is right. Currently it is kind of hard to move the guy to the exit point, I think I really should put it inside the screen, Thanks for pointing it out!
@xphere HOLY SHIT I must say that "Kill the Bad Guy" is the one game I searched for years! Many years ago I watch one youtube video of this game and after several years I start learning game development then I always want to make a god game that use the environment to kill people. It remains me about "Kill the Bad Guy" but I don't know the game name at that time. Therefore in the past few years, I tried many times to search it on GOOGLE with different keywords but I never found it! And HERE YOU ARE OMG. OK This reply is not related to my game but I must speak loud haha thanks!
If I could I would put a 100 in fun, this is just amazingly fun, nice job.
fun concept! I really love the slow motion ! excellent!
Omg this is brilliant! I loved everything about it and it's hands down the most fun game I played so far! Amazing interpretation of the theme as well as a solid and smooth execution. Slow mo is sooo epic too! Amazing entry!
What an amazingly creative use of the theme, I love it, it's a fantastic game well done.
Very funny game haha :D
Fantastic game! I don't know how many times I accidentally ripped off my head. Great work!
The amount of polish on this one! Congrats, I'm still having fun! Feels very tactical :D
Nice game,it is really cool and a little hard to play. It took me a long time to passed but I 'm enjoyed.(°∀°)ノ 1.png
the funniest and most innovative game I played in this jam ! very good work !
Thanks for all the kind words and glad you guys love it!
Really fun game! Nice core mechanic with challenging levels built around it. It feels overall really nice to play and especially the feel when you pull the guy apart is very satisfying. I also love that you can jump around as a head :)
The difficulty spike was however quite steep. Got stuck at level 4 pulling his head off by mistake. I felt the two levels after where easier, but it was maybe just me.
I also feel that the canon should have an indicator of whit how much force it’s going to shoot. I also accidentally keep holding down the mouse button expecting to charge the cannon, so for me at least this would feel more natural way to charge it than the distance thing.
Other than that, it was a super cool game, and I enjoyed playing it. Well done!
@gurbx haha you are right, I just finished a post-jam version which makes the game smoother(I think) included the canon indicator! At first, I was thinking to use hold to charge but I want to save player's time (and I am lazy) so yeah I keep distance :joy: . Sorry for the mechanism that bothers you. Thanks for spending time in my game! about level 4, you are right! I am going to make one more level before level 4, may be only 2 walls there Thanks for reminding, maybe you can come back later and check the post jam version if you are interested
Love this idea! I played a zombie game similar to this a few weeks ago and it's super addicting!
@subtlydramatic wow really? Can I know what is the name of that game? That' ll be sad(for me) if there are already games using the same idea
This is the longes I played a Ludum Dare game for. I really had fun, good job!
Definitely not exactly the same lol, but some similar elements! It's on steam and it is called Impale
YES! I saw your blog post during the jam and really wanted to play this game but didn't find it until now. This is such a great original concept, I love it.
One of the few games I've given 5 stars so far. Great original idea and great execution. Nice job!!
@subtlydramatic oh I see, that's similar. Actually shooting out ragdoll is not new, there are a classic flash game series called Ragdoll Cannon. You may take a look! I didn't get my game idea from that(I was inspired by my last compo entry) but my game remind me this series :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: which is really awesome.
@josh-bothun glad you find it now :joy: and thanks for the high rating!
Great idea. The idea of the main character losing limbs came to us, too, but we did not figure out how to make a whole game from this. Your game is a cool realization of that idea. And the characters look really funny and bouncy. I like the physics of the game. However, I got difficulties completing Level 4. Maybe I'm just not good at using the mechanics of the game.
@shito  have you use the slow motion? Maybe you can talk a look at the walkthrough video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms6yOJG6h9k Also, I just add a function to skip level(press P) and I tweak Level 4 because I think it is not friendly to player who just start playing this game, it is not just your problem! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
5/5 masterpiece.
SO much fun!
@goldranger Thank you, this definitely helps! :)
@goldranger Hi ! Your game made me laugh a lot and I chose to made a review of it, you can see it there : https://youtu.be/5zut1oHlrKI Have a nice day and congratulations :) (sorry for the double post, I meant to post it here in first place but I messed up haha)
@satanos wow thanks for making a video for my game! It is a good introduction video which shows how most of the mechanism works without spoilering all the levels!
@goldranger That's exactly the point, introduce the game and let people play it afterwards so no spoilers.
That was fun. Nice and fresh concept. I enjoyed the combination of bloody violence and puzzle solving.
The whole thing was quite frantic, but I often felt I was not in control so much. I got stuck in the level with the three walls after I could not find out how to launch the guy again after he landed. So instead I made this :D
gif3.gif
Good times.
@cerno-b nice gif :joy: If you want to launch the same guy again, first you need to wait until the ragdoll's pose is stable, then you need to click on the rest space(not the limbs) to turn the guy from ragdoll mode to standing mode. After that, you can move him by mouse and he will be launched when he is near the cannon. Arh.. This is not a friendly control and I replace it in my post-jam version, you may take a look if you are interested, not for rating, just for fun!
Also, you can click on the UNLOCK ALL button at level selection page to skip the level or you can take a look at the walkthrough video to see how I pass the level!
@goldranger Man, that's some dedication to your game! I'll try the post Compo version if I find the time. Thanks for the heads up
