Oct 21 19:54:58 Steam Dasher ♥ 0 I really love the aesthetics and the small details (plus the SFX) that give a really immersive mood. You did well also with the throttle, the game would have been too conventional with a simple "press-to-move" design. It fits the theme more and makes it more rewarding. A nicely polished entry, congrats!
Oct 21 20:12:52 17m 54s SLOOM ♥ 0 Cool concept, it's both old tech from the aesthetics and old game like Grimrock (not that old though). You did particularly well on the signs and communicating danger, reach, ... The information is always clear and the player can really focus on the best next move. You should expand the concept into a bigger game, I'd definitely play it
Oct 22 13:32:24 17h 19m Gun Salvage TD ♥ 1 It took me a while to understand how the left part/drill worked, I thought I would have more control on it. But when I understood it, it was straightforward. However there might be some balancing issue and no end condition as I was just letting the game run after building a dozen of turrets and no enemies could ever reach the base. Interesting concept anyway!
Oct 23 07:54:32 18h 22m weird gameboy game I found in the mountains ♥ 1 Really cool entry, I like the Inscryption vibe, from the real world narrative setting to the mechanical twist. Really impressive amount of content given the time. I got one issue though after using the antenna dish, I think I pressed escape and was not able to get mouse control back when re-clicking the game. Must be an issue with how itch.io handles the mouse. Apart from that, amazing game, best entry I played so far.
Oct 23 08:18:12 23m 40s Floppy Defrag ♥ 1 Really cool twist on the Sokoban concept. I like the new mechanic you introduce at level 8 (Disc_07) but those never really get hard; for me Disc_06 was the toughest. Solid entry!
Oct 23 09:46:36 1h 28m Scrap Treasure ♥ 0 I like the concept and the mood, plus interacting with the game feels really satisfying, but it definitely needs a tutorial or clearer instructions. For example here I think I'm checking all the boxes for the stats (they're all green) but the Deliver button remains greyed out. It's maybe because of the connections (I still dont know what the cable colors mean) but nothing clearly tells it. With a proper onboarding this game could be a gem!scrap_treasure.png
Oct 23 09:56:04 9m 28s Nomad City ♥ 0 Nice little game, the pixel art and the music give a strong mood. I beat it on my first try, dont know if it's because I made the right choices or if the game is easy, but I had a fun time. Solid entry!
Oct 23 13:49:56 3h 53m Oxidize ♥ 1 Cool platformer, I like the tileset. But the difficulty progression could need a second pass and the mechanics be introduced over a bit more levels (it took me some time to understand what the orange orbs did). Maybe some controller support would help as playing such a requiring platformer on keyboard can get tiring will some. A good entry that would turn great with a few QoL adjustments!
Oct 23 14:36:27 46m 31s Plug and Pray ♥ 0 Really interesting entry, I like it when things are not clearly explained and you need to trial-and-error your way out. But there might have been too much info on the UI from the beginning, and the role of the console/verbs was not clear to me at first. I wonder if the console doesn't add an extra complexity level that might not be necessary? Like having the interface handled all with mouse and keyboard shortcuts could be enough? The game is deep enough already imho. I'll definitely get back to it later with more time on my hands.
Oct 23 19:31:40 4h 55m Full Steam Ahead! ♥ 1 Man that intro alone is an instant 5 star rating!! The game could be a bit less punishing maybe by advertising what's coming next, and the text bubble hides a pretty good portion of the screen, it may be intended but it adds to the difficulty arbitrarily. Nonetheless that's a super neat entry (forgot to say that I really like your pixel art)
Oct 23 19:52:51 21m 11s Fotoshu: Caught on Film ♥ 2 Best entry I've played so far, the minimalist pixel art is super expressive and you nailed the character's animations. The mechanic is clever and the puzzle progression is well thought through, it feels like a mix between Storyteller and Splitter Critter. Impressive!
Oct 23 20:06:17 13m 26s Old Techniques: The Last Master ♥ 1 That's a really clever mechanic and your art style is one of a kind, that makes your entry stand out as pretty unique. The difficulty was may be a bit too stiff and the first enemies could use less life to get the flow going. But the combo timeline editor is a genuinely cool idea!
Oct 24 12:47:43 16h 41m DAISY ♥ 0 That's an original idea, I learned something with your game. For some reason it reminded me of old Amiga games (like Mortville Manor) with speech synthesis, that's some sweet memories... I guess the UI/UX of your game could be improved a bit but it's already a well rounded experience, congrats!
Oct 24 13:06:58 19m 15s Disk Risk ♥ 0 I think the concept is original but it could use a tutorial or some in-game instructions. It maybe missing some small feedback during the game to understand what you did good and what you did wrong. Also, I noticed that J,K,L default shooting downward? I thought it'd be helpful to have them default to disk if you're lined up with it (and there's only one). That's a good basis to iterate upon, keep up the good work!
Oct 24 13:19:13 12m 15s Photoman ♥ 0 This game reminds me a lot of Bernband: you explore a weird alien world with its own architecture and inhabitants, and it's an experience in itself. I think there could be easier photos to take, cause matching a creature with its architectural bit can be tricky or take too much time. With simpler photos you get a nice onboarding that make players want to stick a bit more with your game. I had a good time exploring the world created, congrats on that!
Oct 24 13:33:29 14m 16s Gnome Grown ♥ 0 Fun little game, I like the gnomes+catapult+carrot combo, very innovative! I'm not used to incremental games so I don't know what could be done mechanically, but some small UX QoL improvements would greatly improve your game imho: mouse wheel to zoom in/out, hold left click to pan the camera.
Oct 24 14:08:40 35m 11s Decom Protocol ♥ 3 Really great atmosphere and art style, I love the dithering on the textures. For some reason I could never see the scrap until they were stuck to the magnet so I was just moving the crane left and right with the magnet on until something got stuck, don't know if it's the intended way to do it. I got some green lights and some red ones, I suppose there are several endings?
Oct 24 14:26:39 17m 59s Light Seeker ♥ 3 Most innovative game I've played so far, your entry is amazing: from the aesthetics to the music, everything is perfectly put together (nice job on the SFX as well). The puzzles are clever and you manage to twist the mechanics at the perfect time every time so that it doesn't get boring. Incredible work!
Oct 24 14:36:31 9m 52s GEARBOUND ♥ 1 Nice little survivor game, the pixel art is great, the overall mood is light and pushes you to come back to it. The SFX for getting hit might be a bit out of place, I thought I was collecting coin or cash at first. Until I died and realized that was the hits πŸ˜„ It's a nice touch to have added short term and mid term objectives, plus a game ending condition. Really fun game, congrats!
Oct 24 14:51:23 14m 52s V0X : Parabiosis ♥ 0 The concept is really interesting and I like the Existenz-like mechanic to upgrade your weapon with organic body parts. However I ended up clicking on upgrade by mistake cause I was firing when the popup was displayed. I think the game could benefit from a more Survivor-like approach: automatic shooting (rate of fire can be upgraded) and weapons are cumulative (I found it cumbersome to toggle between them). The map could you some obstacles also, to hinder you but also to trap monsters. I think your concept is pretty unique and with the right QoL improvements you could be onto something great!
Oct 24 15:09:18 17m 55s Ghost in the Egg ♥ 1 Wow the production value and the amount of content is over the top! I usually don't play this type of games but the mood, the voice acting and the finely engineered timing got me staying until the end. Amazing job πŸ‘
Oct 27 21:36:09 78h 26m goblin-tech ♥ 0 I like the aesthetics and concept but it gets difficult really quickly. I understand the pressure of having the flow going in real time but it'd be great to have some kind of pause.
Oct 27 21:42:29 6m 20s cassette 1998 ♥ 1 Impressive production value, I really like the art direction on your entry. The mood is really well designed and fits the story perfectly. The pencil rewinding mechanic is a clever choice, it prevents the game from being "just" a point & click. Nice job!
Oct 27 21:57:21 14m 52s Vibeoverflow ♥ 0 What a twist! I love what you did, it's clever, easy to understand, rewarding. Maybe a bit loose on the theme connection but a real gem, bravo!
Oct 27 22:06:23 9m 02s The Loading Department --εŠ θ½½δΊ‹εŠ‘ιƒ¨ ♥ 1 Really cute aesthetics, I like the idea of having your boss' shadow over your shoulder. It may be a bit repetitive playing solo but it'd make a great game in multiplayer
Oct 28 11:02:59 12h 56m Pigeon Post ♥ 0 Really fun game, I like how the complexity ramps up quickly, and the art style is adorable. If I had to pick an area of improvement, I'd say UX maybe: clicking on an errand, then a pigeon, then the popup on the pigeon, then back to the errand to send him; maybe it could be streamlined a bit. But apart from that, really solid entry!
Oct 28 11:20:57 17m 58s Amiga 12000 ♥ 1 Incredible mood and art on your game! The typing SFX is like ASMR in retro space, love it. The concept is simple but you manage to make a good progression out of it. I'd love to have some extra tools to take notes on the planet, or like a small query language to compute information on a system. That could allow to expand the concept further maybe? Anyway, I had a fun time with your game and it took me back to my Amiga 500 years!
Oct 28 11:35:44 14m 47s Janitorial duties ♥ 0 It's a shame you couldn't add more levels cause I think what you have is really solid. I like your pixel art and your attention to details, you even added grass particles when you moved blocks. Keep building on it, you have some strong skills!
Oct 28 14:17:04 2h 41m Torch Keeper ♥ 1 Just finished the game, and honestly, I think it's brilliant. Your 2D physics is a bit limited (character not moving on moving platforms, character stuck on platform edges, no wall jumps, ...) but event with those limitations, I found the mechanics really well exposed and the level/puzzle design is perfect. It's hard but never punishing, and lighting a torch on a wall feels like a true reward every time. Really good platformer game, 5 stars it is!
Oct 28 15:59:12 1h 42m The Postman ♥ 1 Simple concept (with a very loose Old Tech theme affiliation) but the execution is pretty good. It's a shame you couldn't add some SFX or music. It may be a bit slow paced though, like getting the best shoes takes a bit of time. Maybe a small dash with cooldown that you can perfectly chained to gain a super boost (a la Abzu) would help. Also it could have helped to put on the map the buildings once you discover, or current extra errands/quest givers. But as a whole it's a cool little entry with plenty of content.
Oct 28 16:09:20 10m 08s Floppy Factory ♥ 0 Super addictive game, the concept is simple but the upgrades are well paced so you always have something to aim for. I had some troubles with the drag&drop that left some disks loose and at some point I guess the game crashed as I couldn't interact with it anymore although the music was still playing.
