Sin título.jpg Incredible work for a game jam! I loved this game, the art, the mechanics, the music, the atmosphere, everything! xD It really bummed me out that my pigeons died so quickly; I would have loved to be able to take better care of them and watch them grow, haha! This game has a lot of potential, well done!

Delivered 10 letters; I really enjoyed the game. Valera the pigeon, who had dementia, was great.

I didn't expect to see a game with exactly the same name as mine! :)
Very cute, good job :-) Really impressive what you managed to create in just a few days!
A fun idea for an incremental game! The early game felt slow, though. Faster deliveries or getting access to more pigeons sooner would help things pick up momentum. Hatching eggs also required a lot of clicking; fewer clicks would make that part feel less repetitive. My first run ended after only two deliveries, with three pigeons dying on missions. My second attempt went better, but I still only managed to deliver six letters before losing again (see screenshot). Losing pigeons felt frustrating. I'd find it more interesting if they stayed alive and I could later sell the ones with weaker stats to free up space. That would give me more control over which pigeons to keep and how my flock develops.

It would be cool to see this as *some kind of incremental clicker game*.

@welovegames We had a lot of plans, as usual, but unfortunately, we couldn't get everything done in time.
We originally wanted to focus more on pigeon management, including breeding and crossbreeding the best pigeons, selling the ones with weaker stats, and other little things like that.

This is magnificent! Everything in this game is just great! Top marks! The pigeons are so cute.

Really adorable game! Though 10 days, they were all too cute to just go away like that T_T. Really fun, next time when a pigeon takes a shit, I'll pretend that it's just delivering ice-cream. (My pigeon liked it too!)pigeon pic.jpeg

Great job on this project! The visual style and audio fit together really nicely, creating an awesome vibe. Super impressive execution within the jam deadline! Left my ratings! Feel free to check out our cat bomb-crafting game when you have time. You can try the updated alternative version I put together (fixed mechanics + working PC): https://naiper.itch.io/meow-bomb-by-naiper
Would love to hear your thoughts!

The idea of the world running entirely on pigeon post after the internet vanishes is so charming and clever. You did a great job setting up this world, making the simple act of delivery feel truly important. It's a very fun and unique premise for a game jam entry!

One of the best games in the jam, in my opinion. I really enjoyed it! It looks very charming, and you don’t have to strain yourself to figure out how to play—you can just sit back and have a great time with these cool pigeons. I loved everything about it; there’s nothing I’d even add.
This is a great idea. The game looks very polished - an incredible level of polish for a jam game! I like how all of the pidgeons had their own traits, it made selecting the right one a bit more challenging. Overall, the aesthetic felt right with the music and sound complementing the art style... and the pidgeon animation was super cute. Amazing!
Great atmosphere, graphics, music, sound. - If the poop wasn't cleaned up, was that making pigeons sick? - I found a bug that I could click on the egg without it bouncing around if I did so while a pop-up was present. While I really liked it for the game it was, I played until the thank-you for playing our LD60 game message. I wouldn't be compelled to play again on the account I felt it was only a matter of time to complete/win vs. decisions made to win. A little on-boarding on how to make decisions would help, perhaps saying wings were for distance, then you had the icon for speed, and weight carrying. At least that's how I think it worked out. So yeah, make it harder with decisions that allow me to win or lose based on those. > But you delivered on an enjoyable game jam experience!
I really like the visuals! It’s a bit challenging but feels fair, and overall, it’s fantastic!

Amazing graphics and visual style! The gameplay loop is simple and easy to understand, and the music and sound effects fit the game perfectly. The combo pop-ups when collecting several piles of pigeon poop at once are pretty funny))
A couple of things I'd suggest: pigeons seem to die pretty unexpectedly, so it would be nice to have a timer showing how much life they have left. The process of selecting a job, clicking on a pigeon, and pressing Assign also feels a bit tedious. It would be nice to assign pigeons to deliveries more quickly.
It's not entirely clear what the pigeons' perks actually do, so some extra info about them would be helpful. Also, it feels a bit strange when a pigeon dies while you're still trying to pick the right courier, without even getting a chance to fly off on a delivery))
And finally, hatching new pigeons takes quite a while. Maybe there could be a way to speed things up, like clicking on the egg or adding some kind of small minigame?
Overall, I really enjoyed the game! The visuals and sound are awesome, and the whole concept is pretty cool. Good luck with the jam!))

@runningopenloop @cahard Thanks for the feedback, guys!
> If the poop wasn’t cleaned up, was that making pigeons sick?
We planned to add diseases that could spread if the room got too dirty, but unfortunately, we ran out of time :)
> I felt it was only a matter of time to complete/win vs. decisions made to win.
For now, I think it's best to treat the game as a short proof of concept. We'd also love to make player choices more meaningful if we get the chance to keep working on it.
> A little on-boarding
>It’s not entirely clear what the pigeons’ perks actually do
Yeah.. It might not always be obvious what each stat or perk actually does. We didn't have time to add a tutorial either, unfortunately.
> Pigeons seem to die pretty unexpectedly
This is one of the main things we're discussing with the team right now.
So far, we've added two tiny hints: - Day and night change outside the window, following the pigeons' life cycle. - Older pigeons grow a little beard 😃 If you spot a bearded pigeon, it doesn't have much time left!
> clicking on the egg
Clicking the egg does speed up the hatching process a little, but only by a tiny amount. I guess we should make that more noticeable.

@aterim oh, my mistake, I wasn't paying enough attention to notice that the pigeons grow a beard. That's pretty funny :D Без имени.png

Such a unique take on the theme! Choosing a pigeon felt really cumbersome, though. I couldn’t figure out what all the stats meant—the delivery success chances were the only ones I understood. In that case, why not have each pigeon’s delivery success chance pop up above its head when I click on a letter?

The game is very fun and entertaining; the menu could use a bit more UX work to make assigning the pigeons easier.

Very well done. I found the game to be fun to play once I got the hang of it. Unfortunately after 17 packages delivered I seem to have found a bug where I literally can not get any pigeon to be selected for the next package. Not sure what to do at this point. Anyway great idea and I like your take on the theme of "old tech" I am amazed you got this polished after only a weekend.
Cute game. But why do they die so fast? Usually pigeons life for years. I guess too much stress delivering the letters :-)

This was a very polished and visually cohesive little game! The pigeons have great animations and their portraits are quite cute too! Assigning tasks could do with a bit of UX improvement though, initially I had tried dragging the tasks to the pigeons; maybe this + hovering to see stats/perks and task success/time could work? I'm not sure.. Anyway nice work!

Without a doubt, the cutest game I've played this jam. Kind of died when I read "Expected lifespan 10 days" though LOL.
Wow, this is really well made! The polish is outstanding—you should be proud of yourselves!

Maybe I just had bad luck, but delivery rate felt a bit low. Also the second pigeon I got from an egg died of old age on its second delivery? I like the idea and graphics, though. The pigeon model is great. I'll have another try.

@klengh This version doesn't have a proper onbording, so if you're unlucky, your pigeons might end up with some pretty bad stats right from the start =\

Really fun game, I like how the complexity ramps up quickly, and the art style is adorable. If I had to pick an area of improvement, I'd say UX maybe: clicking on an errand, then a pigeon, then the popup on the pigeon, then back to the errand to send him; maybe it could be streamlined a bit. But apart from that, really solid entry!
