| Apr 21 12:33:38 | swpr | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! It was a braintwister, having played normal minesweeper for years 😁 I needed to play a game while being a bit distracted, this game was perfect for that. Sorta a "sidegame" Some feedback I have: - Love the graphics, it's so cute! - This game could have had some sounds I feel. Maybe an option under the "start menu"? - I kept clicking right mouse button for flagging, maybe that could have been an option? - The color table was a bit confusing, However, I don't know how it could have been done otherwise. Maybe an hover effect with a tooltip telling how many? Or at least an in-game table with this information so I don't have to alt-tab to the page explaining it? | |
| Apr 21 12:51:02 | 17m 24s | Echo Chaser | ♥ 1 | Loved it! The graphics are amazing, I love what you can do with such limitations. Having the platforms appear and disappear using the echo technique itself is really clever. If I may give a suggestion: Add a cover image to your game! It deserves the love! I managed to play all the way until the end. One little thing I found: while explaining the controls, the "Z" key is not displayed. |
| Apr 21 13:11:54 | 20m 52s | Trubble With Terrors | ♥ 0 | I enjoyed this one! I needed a game that I did not need my brain too much for (still hung over from the 3AM deadline over here haha) First I thought the lil guys would go off-screen, so I developed a system where I would prioritize the left side of the screen first. It worked well until I figured out they multiplied! Oh no! The game became more frantic and by wave 8 I lost. Had lots of fun playing it |
| Apr 21 13:20:42 | 8m 48s | Numbus Crossing | ♥ 1 | The sound design was just 👌 So well done! I loved this game, it did not really require my brain if you know what I mean :) I did not understand the DAB function, is it just for funsies? Or do some birds react to it? I couldn't figure that out yet The birds are so cute btw! 💙 |
| Apr 21 13:42:09 | 21m 27s | Smoke Signals | ♥ 1 | Smoking should not be stress-inducing haha, loved the game! I was surprised that there was another level actually |
| Apr 21 14:52:54 | 1h 10m | Signal-flag Shuffle | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! I found myself playing this for way too long. I agree with the feedback DecadeDecaf gave. First it was a bit unclear, but learning each mechanic was an eye opener and made me play better each time. The emotions of the little pirate are a very cool addition |
| Apr 21 19:46:35 | 4h 53m | The Lighthouse | ♥ 1 | Very well done! I enjoyed your game, I like the voiceacting in this one. I compare this one a lot with your last entry. The style is similar, but improved in almost all aspects As I recall, the last one did not have voice acting, right? And multiple screens this time! And multiple endings! I had a good time playing this. I have one point of feedback I think: the "signal" part I found a bit weak? It was part of the game, but it did not feel like an element that was vital to the game to work if you know what I mean. Although that does not take away how fun it was. The theme is in my opinion mostly to nudge the developers into a way of thinking |
| Apr 21 19:56:37 | 10m 02s | Terminal Transmitter 6000 | ♥ 1 | A fun sandbox to play around with sound signals. I was curious about the flashing you were talking about, I could not get it to flash though Fun fact, this runs on a Windows 7 VM, and it runs pretty smooth! |
| Apr 21 20:06:33 | 9m 56s | Sheep Trials | ♥ 1 | Level 1 was already hard enough haha, but level 2 was much easier to me! Propably because the mechanics were... "not really traditional". But that's the point of the game and I loved it! How did you come to this idea? It somehow feels very specific to me I like that you added some options for the whistle sounds. Are those sounds accurate? As in: to real herders use those? |
| Apr 21 20:23:22 | 16m 49s | MEGAHONK | ♥ 1 | When the game started, I instantly had a big grin on my face. I love these kinds of games! First I thought that hitting stuff would be bad, but actually it just fills up the anger meter for the MEGAHONK even faster! Loved the choas! Somehow the music was fitting too, it sounded like a car radio I know it is much to ask for an LD enrty, but this game really could use a scoreboard of some kind. I think it gives people some extra motivation to play even more |
| Apr 21 21:02:42 | 39m 20s | WiFi Trouble | ♥ 1 | I love a good puzzle game! Yours is approved! I liked it I think these internet service companies earn a lot of money off these wonky signal boosters haha Love the implementation of the game! I finished all levels, except for one. I wonder if it is the same level @tomtomgome ; !> is it the Windmill one? I think it is awesome that you created a level select screen. |
| Apr 22 16:47:49 | 19h 45m | Retro Signal Radio | ♥ 1 | Ay mate! I see that you uploaded a unity build! Are you planning on uploading a web-version too? If not then I'll make sure to use Lizz's PC, which has Windows (I kicked Windows off my PC since last winter) Hope you had fun developing last weekend, I'm very curious what this game is all about 😁 |
| Apr 22 17:33:05 | 45m 16s | Round-a-doodle-doo | ♥ 0 | Hi! I always have a good time playing your games! You always polish it so well! As a Dutch guy I'm like "trafic lights? At a roundabout??!" that's a rare sight 😁 I have some feedback :-) - The music is top notch, I really enjoy that. Can you tell me more about Bitwig Studio? - I was playing with the keyboard controls and there were two things I found out: 1. Somehow My brain clicked "right key" when I wanted the chicks on the top to go to the right. Instead of clicking the "up key" because the upper signal needed to be changed 2. I did not know what to do with the bad chicks. Later I found out that the game could be played with mouse too! I don't know how these issues could be solved other than just getting rid of keyboard controls 🤔 Also, did you know that someone else on here had a similar idea? I think its fun to see the diffrences between the two approaches https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/numbus-crossing |
| Apr 22 17:56:07 | 23m 02s | TellyBuddy | ♥ 3 | Damn wouw I'm speechless! I must admit, I couldn't figure out how to play until the end so I watched the video. This is really impressive for an LD entry made in 72 hours. The guy with the sunglasses and the green background really reminded me about the Max Headroom signal hijacking incident. Was that an inspiration for you? |
| Apr 22 18:20:31 | 24m 24s | While You Were Here | ♥ 1 | Yess I finished it (thanks @rogual for the tip!) Fun game, it's very cozy and I like the athmoshere a lot. I think this is really impressive for a compo! It's a bit frustrating sometimes. The hitbox isn't that clear, which could create some tense moments. Also the whole "stand on the golem and use another call" thing was not really explained, which makes the last level very hard to comprehend I like the birds in the forest singing! Did you record that somewhere nearby? We did that a few times in our jam entries |
| Apr 22 18:41:26 | 20m 55s | Midnight Transmission | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! To be honest, at first I thought "is this all?" but then it became harder and harder when the black-coated men started spawning all over the place! I think you made the right choice there If I may give a suggestion: maybe the buildings could have been the transmitter-containers where the player actually needed to identify the correct building, instead of placing a green marker on the map? The music is very well done, it gives the game the right vibe for such mid-night activities |
| Apr 22 19:16:41 | 35m 15s | Cave Man Conversations | ♥ 1 | Very well made! I had lots of fun trying to play like a caveman! Some things I noted / have questions about: - One time I encountered a word which needed (in my opinion) to be past tense: "fall" instead of "fell" - There are lots of icons, are those decoys? Or did you have more plans or is it random? - I love the music, did you play that on a real guituar? - I like how there are very modern symbols in the list haha, like a lightbulb. These guys are modern! |
| Apr 23 17:08:25 | 21h 51m | Sound the Horns | ♥ 2 | Ay mate! I like your game, it's got that Kr4ft3r-pizzazz. After many years I still don't really know what that actually means, but you can feel it if you know what I mean 😁 You never follow a particular style or genre, but still.. The canons I found a bit difficult to understand, I don't really know why.. I thought I needed to press shift and click the enemy. Also, they would go gray randomly I thought. After many rounds I figured it out and I see why it is designed that way. I don't really know if I was just too sleep-deprived (played it a few days ago actually), or if there is something in the communication that threw me off I like how abstract the war feels, it really feels like the player is some kind of higher up that just cares about "win or loose" and not really care about the individuals that are giving their lives. The multiplayer is a very cool touch to say the least! I love that you did that! |
| Apr 23 19:34:52 | 2h 26m | RESPECT | ♥ 1 | Fun game! I love the pay respects thing, meme well used sir! I like the mechanics you made, the tomb-sense and the rolling effect for the jump are clever ideas. I feel the jump mechanic could have been a little more forgiving though The level design is fun too, there is enough variation The highscore table is a cool addition. It makes players more competitive. Only thing I would add: some music. Even a simple loop in the background would do wonders I think. I had fun playing your game |
| Apr 23 19:58:35 | 23m 43s | Infrequency | ♥ 0 | Your games are getting better and better! I like how you build on top of the games / knowlegde you gathered the last couple of jams. Last time your game felt more like an experience to me. This time it feels like a real game. Great job! 😄 |
| Apr 24 18:02:43 | 22h 04m | Alpine | ♥ 1 | This game looks pretty! It plays very nice too I somehow couldn't finish it, I have tried multuple times now. When writing this comment I came across @ghettobastler 's video and now I get it! I love the way this story is told; like a bedtime story, that is very creative and I will remember that for LD60 😁 |
| Apr 24 18:31:21 | 28m 38s | Space Supremacy | ♥ 1 | The soundtrack is awesome! Feels like those DukeNukem' games before Duke3D 😄 Is there a way to get health back? I haven't figured that out yet. If no, then I think the "game over and start aaaaalll over again method" is a bit harsh. Maybe the player could have spawned in front of the last level played? I had a good time playing your game |
| Apr 24 18:54:16 | 22m 55s | Cable Connector LLC | ♥ 1 | I had a blast playing this game yesterday! (oops forgot to rate&comment) Love the dry humor of this one 😄 The boss lacked a bit of feedback when it was actually hit or not. Maybe some basic white flashing would have worked here. That said, this is a solid entry ✌️ |
| Apr 24 19:10:24 | 16m 08s | RoboNET | ♥ 1 | Oops. I enslaved humanity! Had a fun time playing yours! I like the concept of running out of energy when too far from a signal. The shooting was satisfying. I could not figure out how to shoot up or down, was that by design? Also, a level select screen could have been nice. It's a good practice to make something like that in an LD entry for cases when someone gets stuck in a level. |
| Apr 24 19:42:33 | 32m 09s | RAVTZN | ♥ 2 | Ok cool! I got stuck on the marine mammal one, I did not note down any of the last decrypted messages 😅 But I had a blast playing yours! Very well explained also, I can imagine some people actually learned some skills from your game 🌻 |
| Apr 24 19:58:34 | 16m 01s | Ghosts in Translation | ♥ 1 | Simon says in this form is an interesting idea, it felt a bit stale after two locations though. Something simple like having different backgrounds for the locations can do wonders to keep the players attention. Also, some basic sounds could have been nice I think, some people process that kind of stuff better with games like these I like all the sentences you came up with, that must have been a lot of work! |
| Apr 25 16:25:13 | 20h 26m | Moon Moth | ♥ 1 | This is a nice breath of air after playing countless intersection-simulators and doing many alien translations 😄 I like how there is some kind of 'level select' where you can choose the bedroom to enter. I can see that you had fun creating the art for this one. Your games always feel more as an experience than a game itself, which is cool I think! |
| Apr 25 16:39:52 | 14m 39s | Xsignals | ♥ 1 | Oof this is high risk, high reward! I think it's impressive that you created a multiplayer game for LudumDare. But... You need a constant stream of players who log in regularly, which is a damn impossible task here. Most people will stick around for 10 or 20 minutes and move on. In this game your game relies on other people to be fun. When nobody is there, then people will log out pretty fast. Which in turn will sustain the lack of players. I don't really know what to advise in this case. I have some ideas though: - Create a system where "[fake multiplayer](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comments/12xmcjr/have_you_ever_seen_a_fake_multiplayer/)" is an option - Create some kind of notification system to let people know if there is anyone to play with. Make players subscribe to such system - Create timeslots where rounds are played (maybe thrice a day) and let people know when to log in |
| Apr 25 16:50:03 | 10m 11s | Bulletproof Broadcast | ♥ 1 | Its sad to think that these kinds of things actually happen in the world :o This game is very well made and was easy to learn but hard to master. Which is how it should be. I had fun playing yours! |
| Apr 25 17:00:42 | 10m 39s | Radio Nation | ♥ 1 | Fun game as long as it runs. Somehow I ran out of buildings. Is that intended? I also would suggest to make middle-clicking the mouse an option to move the camera and to make right-click rotate the building. Maybe make snap assist default until shift is pressed? This control scheme feels more like other games with similar features to me |
| Apr 25 17:31:00 | 30m 18s | Trash Friends | ♥ 2 | Ahwww my heart melted with this one, so cute!! 💕 I managed to crash it though, at the level where rotating+moving mirros were introduced. I think I created an infinite loop? No idea.. It just stopped reacting (I was playing the web build) I had a great time playing yours! I think this is a clever take on the theme. I can see that you had lots of fun creating the art for this game 😄 Mixing dialogue and puzzles is very clever and should be used more! Oh and @ingviild , try to mix the cyan, magenta and yellow colors :3 |
| Apr 25 17:59:47 | 28m 47s | Dot Dash Mash | ♥ 0 | I like your game! The graphics, audio, puzzles are all very well ironed out. Only two points of feedback: - It could really use a level select screen though. I got stuck at the level where one of the words were "remarkable". I just could not fit the last letter into the signal 😅 - The text for the dialogue is a bit slow for my taste |
| Apr 26 09:37:00 | 15h 37m | Signal Colors | ♥ 2 | This is one of those games you have a bookmark for in the browser for those dull times where you need to kill some time 😄 Very well made! It felt a bit too abstract at the start for me, but after playing for a while I recognized the genius of it. Although there were more colors appearing, it did not make it any easier. The colors would start go blur together for me (signal overload? haha), which made it challenging. Of course, that is what you want for a game like this. The theme however.. I'm a bit divided about that. I found it a bit weak to be honest. It felt like you had this idea before the weekend started and thought of a way to implement the theme in it. Or am I mistaken? ~~I have to ask: how many colors are there? I came to cyan~~ Edit: after reading the comments I found out that there is an actual end. I will try again later 😇 |
| Apr 26 10:04:22 | 27m 22s | Safe Haven | ♥ 1 | Ay fun game! I was a bit confused at the start though, it felt like the game was not running well at first. I think my expectations were different because of the title screen. That screen is gorgeous! I really like that art style. However, because of the amount of polish it had, I was expecting some music or soundeffects to be present too. So the first two minutes I was fiddling with my audio settings to get it to work. However, turned out this game does not have sound. Adding sound effects is a fast way to make the game feel more alive. Its a great hack to be honest. Some [simple bleeps and bloops](https://sfxr.me/) can do wonders Then I could not really figure out what to do with the lighthouses. All my life lighthouses were a concept that the're grounded and that one can only manipulate the light itself. In your game the lighthouses move. Some in-game explaination would have been great to be honest. Maybe adding sounds for activating and de-activating lighthouses would work here too, as it gives the player a clue that clicking a lighthouse *does* something :-) |
| Apr 26 19:16:48 | 9h 12m | Saving Private Morse | ♥ 2 | Very cool game! I like the concept a lot. Sometimes I was a bit impatient, so I was clicking too fast when I wanted a long click, thus the guy would go forward instead of left for instance. Totally my fault, but I wondered if some audio queues would have helped me out. You clearly got sound to work as you stated it is sort of an easter egg. Then my question is: why did you not do music / sfx by default? It can really elevate a game. I came until the laser-thingies inside the building where the ceiling was partially covering the view. For the rest, I think Domenixius has some great feedback that I can stand behind :-) Also, congratz on your first LudumDare entry!! How's your experience until now? 😄 |
| Apr 26 19:31:55 | 15m 07s | A game about a radio, vessels and bombs | ♥ 1 | What a cool concept! This is a great take on the theme. The radio is very well done, it feels like a real radio. I like how the sea mines make traversing the map more difficult as the time goes on. One question though: the radio keeps working in the "move vessels" stage, was that on purpose? |
| Apr 26 19:38:28 | 6m 33s | Keep a stable connection | ♥ 1 | Congratz on your first LD entry! I hope you've had a good experience over here, the community is lovely 💕 I like your game! Although I suck at it hahaha I think the keyboard option to select camera's is clever. Also, I like the graphics. The home sprite really makes me think about the graphics you could make in Google Sketchup back in the day 😄 |
| Apr 26 19:45:58 | 7m 30s | Ping to Survive | ♥ 1 | Waoow dat gameover screen though 😮 That is too satisfying in my opinion haha, which is great because I've seen it many times now! I like your game, the music, graphics and overal gameplay feel very well polished. I do have a question though: it felt like the meteors where different every time I used the ping. Is that my mind playing tricks on me? |
| Apr 26 19:59:48 | 13m 50s | Saving GAFAM City! | ♥ 2 | Damn that sountrack is a banger! What a fun game to play. We've even beaten mr capitalism (or at least, the 'thanks for playing' screen came up when all heros were on top of him) I had a fun time jugling the characters around and to read the newspaper. Somehow it made me feel like the olden days with simcity 😄 |
| Apr 26 20:10:54 | 11m 06s | Checkers: Under the Radar | ♥ 1 | Absolutely brilliant. I don't have anything to say than positive things. The music is a banger and the gameplay feels very well thought through. I like how the pieces are paralyzed for a bit when you make a mistake. And the heart-sinking feeling when you use the tower and see the enemy all the way across the board with the little red thingy on top really shows how invested one can get |
| Apr 27 18:29:12 | 22h 18m | Receive & Repeat | ♥ 1 | Love the game! I kinda suck at these kinds of games though, so I could not get past level 4, but I had fun nevertheless! I think the jump to 12000 points is a bit too steep. In my opinion there should have been a level with 8000 points in between 3 and 4 The graphics look attractive and gets the point across |
| Apr 27 19:17:41 | 48m 29s | Detect Metal | ♥ 1 | Ooof this one is hard! It is also a lot of fun to play. I like the take on the theme and the way you laid out the levels. I love finding the little artifacts, somehow it gives little dopamine boosts 😄 Those enemies though, oof those come with many and the situation escalated so quickly! In combination with the way shooting works, it is almost impossible for me to avoid the enemies more than a minute or so. Shooting goes into the last moved direction. So when the player grouped the flies together, the player needs to move towards the flies and shoot. If the player retreats, the gun will go backwards too 😅 It makes for an interesting challenge, bit somehow I don't think this behavior was planned? Or am I mistaken? |
| Apr 28 18:24:42 | 23h 07m | SIGBLAST | ♥ 1 | Yay! I finished the game! Thanks to my gf @lizz who gave me some idea's. I was stuck at the points other people were stuck too, not realizing that parts of platforms could move. I think this game is super original. I also adore the artstyle. Great stuff! |
| Apr 28 19:04:27 | 39m 45s | Cheeky Cherry Choo Choo | ♥ 1 | Fun game! There are two levels, right? I got a brown star at the second level haha. Figured out there was a second train at the end of the level when the meter was already in the silver 😅 I had fun playing this game, it felt calming and I loved the animations, especially the farm when it was built up 😄 |
| Apr 28 19:17:20 | 12m 53s | Lights of the Living Dead | ♥ 4 | oh woauw those graphics are **gorgeous**! Game also ran very well, the control scheme was very well thought through. Although, I sucked at it haha, the chaos was very well done too. I was surprised that the chaos would disappear after a few seconds, which is a very nice touch. I will come back later to try and play until the end |
| Apr 30 17:39:55 | 46h 22m | Square Hole | ♥ 1 | Haah! Is this referencing the meme with the tester and the developer-lady? 😆 Loved the game, it was fun to play. Some on-screen instructions about the controls would have been great. Now I had to go to check the submission page to actually figure out Q and E were for changing shape |
| May 3 19:04:17 | 73h 24m | Shroomice | ♥ 1 | Hi dear, better late than never I guess 😅 I had fun reading your game , I think the story has got some depth making the player think about the decisions they made. Even the "good" answers, like not arresting the teen with the kart and the feedback that came out of that. Regarding 'gameplay': I found the contrast between the black screen and the big white text to be too harsh on the eyes. The characters started to melt together for me after a while. My advise would be to make the letters light-gray or the background to be somewhat anthracite :-) I'm proud of you! This is your second solo LD jam game and it shows a lot of progress ❤️ |
