Excellent concept! It fits the theme perfectly. The addition of music at certain frequencies was a nice touch. I think it’s a game worth continuing.

the radio thing goes a long way in giving the true and tried of “sink the ship” a new feel.
the whole time I kept picturing this scenario of me as a retired spy, chilling in some beach, going back to do one final job, using the only tool at hand, an old, barely functional radio.
good job!
The radio music is a bop and I love how your water looks!
I couldn't figure out the relation of the radio to where the bombs were dropped, does the frequency/modulation tell you something about the bombs?
I loved the radio tuning concept and the audio, especially the crackling, staticky sounds. Excellent voice acting! Put me in mind of those old numbers stations.
Thanks for the feedback @julienlussiez @jackofcups @poboy @jackofcups !
@poboy : With correct frequency and modulation you can capture coordinates where the bombs/mines are being dropped. With incorrect frequency you hear just noise, with correct frequency but incorrect modulation you hear garbage. That's how it works ;)
@jackofcups : The radio static is actually from a real short-wave audio capture. Glad if it awakes some RF vibes
Great audio design and implementation of the theme! I had a bit of an issue fine tuning the radio frequency, so I wish there was a way to control with keyboard for turning the knob left / right. Most likely would have been because of my mouse sensitivity and screen resolution though! All in all had fun with it!
I love the acting of some of the voices ! Pretty fun to play !
This was so intense. I was quite engaged playing this.
I like the idea of the radio, it's a funny game and I enjoyed it.
This one ended up quite nice, I like the radio in its whole implementation! You just keep on fiddling with audio, huh. I feel like in some levels there is not enough signals to catch for every bomb and mine. And hiding signals behind a track ("hatsune miku" in this instance) can lead you miss them. And if you do end up trying to listen every channel to its full length, you will risk wasting a LOT of time (which you don't have).
Thanks for the constructive feedback @ursagames and @coderaurus. As usual, time for playtesting and finetuning was left short, but it's good to know where to improve. Maybe for next jam I should really recruit some playtesters ;)
Lotta fun scrubbing the radio, though I found it a little finicky to turn the knob consistently, since it requires the mouse to remain over the knob, but the game is quite enjoyable, and the hidden stuff in the radio is a delight.
You managed to fulfil the theme completely by 100%. Awesome job. The different frequencies, songs and random words appearing while shuffling through the radio were a great touch. Visuals could've used a bit more love and a skip button would've been nice but that's the only criticism I have. All that is left to say is ZEBRASTREIFEN.
What a cool concept! This is a great take on the theme. The radio is very well done, it feels like a real radio. I like how the sea mines make traversing the map more difficult as the time goes on. One question though: the radio keeps working in the "move vessels" stage, was that on purpose?
i wonder if water feels pain
Thanks @sirplop @coro-yy and @wouter52 for the feedback and kind words! @wouter52 : Well now yes. I thought about separating the gameplay entirely to an intercept and relocating states. But then time+energy ran out and I wasn't able to playtest and finetune the gameplay with that option.
very innovative theme implementation, nicely done! I would fix a radio button control a bit and may be add some visual indication there
Clever concept! The gameplay was a bit too slow for my tastes, but the basic idea is good.
What a great idea.
Clever idea and amazing execution! I love the little random sounds on the radio.
love the details in the radio, with random messaging and music thrown in there. This fits the theme perfectly, well done. The only note I have is it can feel a bit slow at times, once I figure out where to stay away from and move my ships I'm just left waiting for the bombs to drop. perhaps a fast forward button would solve this maybe? But, overall: Really well done, great game.
