Apr 8 03:36:31 Knights From Inside My Walls ♥ 1 Nice! Got super hairy at the end, and I guess I lost 😦. But I had fun! I liked the pacing of the waves of enemies and how eventually you got to shoot out in all directions. Screenshot 2025-04-07 at 8.29.07 PM.png I played on macOS, and it didn't work on first try (very normal for Jams 😄 ) here's how I got it to work, in case it helps others: - Download the zip from google, and Safari should open it by default. - Drag the folder onto terminal, or into terminal to cd to it. - Make the binary executable; `chmod +x ~/Downloads/KnightsFromInsideMyWallsMac/KnightsFromInsideMyWalls.app/Contents/MacOS/KnightsFromInsideMyWalls` - Then, in Finder, right-click open the file. It will warn you the developer is untrusted; that is because the app wasn't notarized by Apple. - Open System Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> KnightsFromInsideMyWalls.app -> Open Anyway - TouchID/Password then it should open!
Apr 8 04:00:04 23m 33s Sticky's Aquarium ♥ 1 Love it! I think I did everything... not sure what all there is to do. But, I did find a sparkly fish, and caught all the ones I saw. And unlocked everything: Screenshot 2025-04-07 at 8.55.15 PM.png I love this little dude: Screenshot 2025-04-07 at 8.56.43 PM.png The main fishing mechanic was super intuitive and felt great! Loved the number popping effect to sell it. Some of the fish were super stressful, in a good way!
Apr 8 04:13:24 13m 20s Take Your Meds ♥ 1 Cool take on the theme! I found the difficulty jump from level 1 to 2 too high. I think a more gradual introduction to the layers would have been helpful (I didn't know there were three for a while)
Apr 8 04:16:38 3m 14s Heart-Blob ♥ 1 Itch.io says the game hasn't been uploaded. 🤠
Apr 8 04:43:02 26m 24s Antz vs Plantz ♥ 3 I like the combination of different genres to make something new! I failed miserably the first time, but you said that's ok. So tried again. Got pretty far. This guy wiped me out though... even though I killed him the flood after him was super tough. Screenshot 2025-04-07 at 9.38.01 PM.png Ended up doing pretty good... though the score is NaN so... Screenshot 2025-04-07 at 9.39.36 PM.png I did find it hard to know what I could afford. I learned that there is a green sparkle effect on the square, but I was looking at my cursor for an indicator. Great entry!
Apr 8 07:06:58 2h 23m Folder Depth ♥ 1 Cool take on the team! I like the style, made it level three but I wasn't able to sense which folder was the scariest fast enough. I wish wrong folders didn't penalize, or didn't navigate in because I felt like guess and check was the only option. Perhaps there is a pattern I couldn't decipher.
Apr 9 04:58:12 21h 51m Abimes ♥ 3 Very pretty! I also had issues running it. Switching from Safari to Chrome seemed to fix it... it would run for a bit and then crash 😦 But I got to the end, and it was very pretty, going between biomes felt really well done too.
Apr 9 06:46:58 1h 48m Granny's Gotcha ♥ 1 Amazing! Screenshot 2025-04-08 at 11.43.34 PM.png I love the art style, and the simple but goofy arm bending. Bags really are like that sometimes. I love how soft and smooth and cute everything feels. Simple but polished gameplay. Unique take on the theme. Good puzzle progression, though I was hoping the last one would be trick questions... Great entry!
Apr 12 02:02:26 67h 15m Break Down! ♥ 1 This game is great! Took me a little while to notice that you had to touch the ball to get the resources; but I was still having fun anyway. I really liked all the polish like the color trail after a ball that matches what it has, and the little poof animation when a block goes away, or the trail from the the ship. I played for like 20m, but eventually got stuck in geometry and the game crashed when I tried to spawn a ball outside the window. But really fun! I plan on coming back and trying to get the bottom (if there is one). Great entry!
Apr 12 02:17:28 15m 02s Souls Rider 1D ♥ 1 Brain breaking! Cool take on the theme. I found my self getting lost a lot, and just wandering around. Is there some trick I missed? or do I just have poor 1d spacial awareness? Good build up on the levels though!
Apr 12 06:38:06 4h 20m Pandora's Return ♥ 2 Aw, cat. REALLY polished for a compo! Movement felt fluid and art was great. Everything was very intuitive. Upgrades felt a bit generous, but in a good way! Great entry!
Apr 12 06:54:38 16m 32s See the Light ♥ 1 Super chill! Just what I needed. I thought the gold fish were just like coins, and that it was a high score kind of game... ugh. But once I saw the light, it all made sense. I do wish the upward movement was a bit more telegraphed because it sometimes felt a little floaty, but I think that was the camera trying to tell me I was going down, but without texture in the background is can be hard to tell. Otherwise it think ti was great! Screenshot 2025-04-11 at 11.48.39 PM.png
Apr 13 00:29:12 17h 34m TrashDash ♥ 1 Nice! The into was really well done. For some reason I originally thought I was supposed to collect all the trash... but second time got to 1.1km. Not sure if there is a bottom... Would love to see some added mechanics after a bit, like power ups I can trigger e.g. clear the screen. But the ones you had were good!
Apr 13 01:20:17 51m 05s What Happened to Pinewell? ♥ 1 I like how the first password was the hardest! 😸 Really cool game... hopefully next me will do better.
Apr 13 01:33:47 13m 30s Minion No. 1067809362 ♥ 2 The holograms fooled me far too well... good job 🤠
Apr 13 02:07:14 33m 27s Wizardry Catacombs ♥ 0 Screenshot 2025-04-12 at 7.01.09 PM.png Nice ending cinematic... woof. I found the idea of a rouge like without upgrades or items interesting, it focused the game differently than how I would normally play. Normally I would kill everything and search everywhere, but this game it is advantageous to get to the stairs and move on. That made for some tense "do I risk it" moments. The "eye" enemies (both red and purple) seem to have broken hit boxes. Many times my fireball passed right through them. It made them harder than I think they should have been. By my estimation, it seems the collider only covers the bottom half of them. Still fun though!
Apr 13 04:04:23 1h 57m Belly Flop ♥ 0 Fell so hard my foot turned into a propeller. Don't worry, I'm fine. 🚣 ezgif-8d3019b17c1eae.gif
Apr 13 04:43:13 38m 50s Riches From Below ♥ 2 Screenshot 2025-04-12 at 9.39.35 PM.png > The American Dream I really enjoyed it. Though I may have learned I would not make a good captain... suffice it to say the score summary should show diver deaths ☠️ . I liked the day/night system and how that put added pressure at the end. One issue I had is that I added too many rudders and it became too responsive... but in a fun way I guess.
Apr 13 05:13:06 29m 53s One More Folder ♥ 1 If any game needed a Linux build... 🔧 I really enjoyed the early Mac System styling, crazy to think windowing really did work like that for a bit. I like that it wasn't really a puzzle, more just like ugh oh I need to do that now!? The "close windows" was a cleaver way to prevent guess and check, and also to add to the old system vibe. Got the end, and it was super satisfying.
Apr 13 06:18:13 1h 05m Dice of Fates ♥ 2 Very interesting game, there's a lot going on and didn't get it at first. Hovering the eye gave me a lot of text, but I still didn't know what to do... I don't know why in hindsight, but the __roll button__ didn't look clickable to me; maybe because it isn't next to the dice. And the right hand jewel drawer thing is __clickable sidebar__. I think the arrows from the eye help not pointing or highlighting what is clickable made me miss that. Once I got going though it was fun, though a bit random. I found it challenging to know which word (nay, profession) I should be trying to spell with the dice. And I don't think I'm a fan of randomly loosing a rolled dice; I think I should have to pick. I really liked the art and the noise shader, though the pixelation on the locked professions doesn't seem to fit in with the other style.
Apr 15 03:45:01 45h 26m The Quota ♥ 1 Screenshot 2025-04-14 204159.png That was hard! The sound design was impeccable. Really liked the mood. The diegetic health system was very tense and extremely polished feeling. It made every interaction feel important. Great job!
Apr 15 03:59:28 14m 27s Darkest Depths ♥ 1 Screenshot 2025-04-14 205724.png Nice! Really liked the column to column story telling. I got a bit confused at the end because it didn't look like I should go right to win. I assumed there was a cell I needed to be in; e.g. a win cell. I liked the idea of encounters, but they seemed bad so I avoided them. Perhaps encounters should be mostly good-ish but maybe really bad. (perhaps I just got unlucky too).
Apr 15 04:35:37 36m 09s Onerous Orbits ♥ 2 The sounds that plays when the satellite leaves the play area is super familiar... but can't place it. Great game. Really liked the pseudo programming aspect. The line changing colors to match the commands was a good touch. Would be nice to get leaderboards for fewest commands, least fuel, and shortest duration. Would be really cool to have to control multiple ships and have them dock / or miss each other. + moving obstacles etc. Nice entry!
Apr 16 03:53:45 23h 18m DUCKDEPF ♥ 1 Amazing. Love the game over slow-down, music effect. Really sells the "aw, come on!". I gotta know what's down there!
Apr 18 04:37:51 48h 44m Lock Smith ♥ 1 Screenshot 2025-04-17 213554.png That was hard, but only because the symbols were so small. I too always have to get the lint out from my door lock.
Apr 20 04:56:49 48h 18m Formidable Satisfactory Silkworm ♥ 1 Screenshot 2025-04-19 215439.png Nice entry! I tried using space, but it didn't seem to do anything. Good think the trail for fire worked. I agree with others that is was hard to know if the dwarfs were just running away or on fire.
Apr 23 05:11:30 72h 14m Life&Depth ♥ 1 Amazing! Art, Music, Polish amazing. My one nit (if can all it that) is it's too short! I can get to the end without much navigation, and don't need to refill O2. Really like the feel; and again, music is spot on.
Apr 23 05:50:32 39m 02s The House in the Dark Forest ♥ 1 Screenshot 2025-04-22 224702.png Really well done. I tried to do the fractal maze one first; and ugh. That was pain; but in a good way 😄
Apr 23 06:07:43 17m 11s Plundersea ♥ 2 Great entry! I found the game quite challenging due to what I assume is just bad luck. Clicking on a board with no hints and hitting a mine was quite common for me, and doesn't feel good. Similarly, being forced to click in a blue area with no hints and getting a mine isn't fun either. Relatedly, getting a 1 in the middle of nowhere gives no info about where the mine is, so again, lots of lost lives. I'm sure this is really hard, but it would be good for the first click to always give enough info to not hit a mine (if paying attention). I was only able to make it to level four, and again got a string of (what I would consider not my fault) mines. Ugh. Great entry otherwise though, the high quality everywhere else makes this feeling stand out, if that makes sense. 😔
