| Oct 8 15:18:54 | Little Chef | ♥ 2 | The idea is cute, but the controls were pretty hard ;_; I liked how the arms moved, lol! Very funny. Action for arrow keys being shift right near them wasn't very convenient imo. | |
| Oct 8 16:20:21 | 1h 01m | Fireflies | ♥ 2 | Yay! I found all fireflies. That was really cute and relaxing! I almost wish there was no mouse input so I could put my head on my right hand and just play with my left and slowly relax more and more... xD Loved the visual effect on the "tail" when we are moving around and the cute sound fireflies make. I feel like your games keep getting better and better! This one wasn't as inventive control-wise as previous two I played, BUT it was the most polished one and the most comfortable/satisfying to play (controls, visuals, everything looks thought out and carefully done) |
| Oct 8 16:32:45 | 12m 24s | My Keyboard is Full of Ants! | ♥ 2 | Poor ants! The idea is fun (I hope it's not based on real events?? sounds scary!) but looks like my knowledge of English language is not enough to play much of it... I failed in the very beginning, on the 2nd word - it has to have x p l m in it and it's only 1 word with 5 letters in it?? I have no idea what it could be xD |
| Oct 8 16:40:11 | 7m 26s | Mani-Creatures | ♥ 2 | I love the design of the nails! Overall visually the game looks great, and the main menu is really cool. I felt a bit confused during the battle, so I feel like the details need time to get adjusted to, but I got through it somehow and bought more cute nails in the salon xD |
| Oct 8 16:54:24 | 14m 13s | A very small seed | ♥ 1 | Gosh that was so cute! Pretty intuitive, I beat it quite fast, and almost wish it was a bit longer but it's just a perfect experience. Music is relaxing, art is gorgeous, and these tiny guys are adorable <3 |
| Oct 8 17:31:13 | 36m 49s | Parabowls | ♥ 1 | Reminded me a bit of your previous game, if I remember it correctly, and also partly of angry birds :D Throwing is pretty hard... It always comes out weak ;_; Maybe I am not a good fit for this job... |
| Oct 8 17:57:36 | 26m 23s | Papercat Farms | ♥ 4 | That's very cute! I love the cat and the idea, quite cozy. The art looks hand-made and so more endearing, and the only complaint I have is audio as yes meowing is cute but when I listen to it for some time... I had to mute the site because it becomes too much ^^' Love the purring my kitty does tho! Didn't expect to see a farming game on the jam as I feel like it requires a lot, but you got the main mechanic done, and it works great. I think with some polishing and additions it could become a neat little farming game ^v^ |
| Oct 8 18:02:05 | 4m 29s | Cute Animal Jigsaw-like Puzzle | ♥ 1 | Ahh this was so cute! I love puzzles and this one reminded me of the ones I played as a kid, with big details :) |
| Oct 8 19:46:57 | 1h 44m | Hooverfield | ♥ 1 | Hopefully you are feeling better now! OK that was funny. I kept switching between different viewpoints and it felt so dramatic I laughed a bit :D But those little guys being absolutely obliterated... Maybe I shouldn't clean dust ever again. Good thing my robot vacuum cleaner is broken! (;_;) *Also I left for like an hour, came back and he is still cleaning. Very dedicated! |
| Oct 8 20:05:31 | 18m 34s | Deck Derby: Sluglord's Speedway | ♥ 1 | Quite a unique take on racing games, I am actually enjoying it a lot!! Hopefully you continue working on it and make it something bigger and polish. Shortcut card didn't seem to work, but maybe I used it in wrong times? And then my car just froze in place while time was still going... :( 00.jpg And then another car bumped into me and sent me into water :') 01.jpg |
| Oct 8 21:12:20 | 1h 06m | Fry Quest | ♥ 4 | Haha that was cute!! I loved the story and how happy Fry looked in the end. Made me want to eat some fries... I am so happy it's not the kind of story where poor potato screams and suffers but rather is happy and jolly! :D And I know I saw sprites on stream already but they are sooooo CUTE especially a lil mouse! <3 Also can see why you were finishing up to the last minute - you've added so many mini games! That's really cool :) |
| Oct 8 21:21:51 | 9m 31s | a pixie perfect fairytale | ♥ 1 | Ahh that was adorable!! Loved the whole experience from start to finish. Your art is gorgeous as ever but just keeps getting better +_+ It really did feel so pretty and ~magical~ and SO well done for only 3 days, beautiful game ^v^ I guess my wish was having my own fishing tower??? That really does feel like a dream come true! :D |
| Oct 9 13:36:10 | 16h 14m | Magical Girl Danmaku Dandelina | ♥ 1 | That's pretty cute, I like the idea and the visuals <3 Nitpicks: Lines in Main Menu, when not highlighted, are too dark/bleak, I didn't even notice them at first ^^' It it's clear what to evade and what to catch (as you mentioned power-ups) |
| Oct 9 15:43:42 | 2h 07m | Bug Squad | ♥ 2 | The art looks unique, like it was drawn with pencils, and I really like that! Design of the game and all the screens in it are great, The gameplay itself is not very intuitive, so I kept going back to the explanation how to play before I got the grasp of it. So I appreciate Help button being available when in-game already! The game is quite difficult, which many players might like. I tried my best, but couldn't get very far :') |
| Oct 9 16:19:08 | 35m 26s | Whiskerbrink | ♥ 1 | The visuals are really pretty! I love the view of the town in Main Menu and back of the cards especially! I did figure out to switch to fullscreen as soon as I noticed screen being cropped, and only THEN noticed gray letters in main menu suggesting fullscreen :) I suspect it was added last-minute, but just pointing out the text is not readily visible. But also, I believe, you can choose the height and width of your window when you edit the game page on itch.io - maybe check that out as well? About the gameplay: took a second to figure it out, especially since it seems I have to *very* carefully place the card *exactly* on my deck spot for it to register as taken and fill said spot. Also: when we are in the Shop section, I believe the button should say "Start the day" instead of "Next day", otherwise it is confusing. Then, when my villagers can take action, on that screen would be great to have button for the action itself, and separately "Next day" (or keep just one button and rename it so it is like "Action(gather?) and end the day" or something along those lines). I think it would make the process a bit more clear, because at first I was like - next day? but I didn't do anything yet? (first in shop window, then on the next screen too!) It's a bit strange I bought many different creatures along the way, but my card still said I only bought 2. Sometimes it felt like creatures didn't yield resources (for example, +resource appeared on first three, but then not on the last two) and I am left confused why some creatures disappeared from my deck after the turn (did I, after all, not manage to actually "buy" them? or they need constant in-flow of their resource to be kept around?) Overall, I think the game has a lot of potential, and it's a great jam entry! Hopefully you continue working on it and polishing <3 Music is very relaxing and creates a calming atmosphere. P.S. Went to rate and I don't see the art category. Is it not by you? While audio is there even though it's credited to someone outside of jam? |
| Oct 9 17:09:47 | 50m 39s | NebuLeet Troopers | ♥ 1 | To be honest, I quite liked it, even though usually I'd say "it's not my type of game". **Art:** First of all, I like the visual style giving retro vibes, and how the window is small and cozy, and the palette is simple which gives a more cohesive look. I think I'd like my troops and enemy troops look a bit more different from each other, though. **Audio:** You mentioned your game has no music, but honestly it wasn't bothering me at all, and also you did COMPO so you had way less time than me! And, sound effects made up for the lack of music - because of them it didn't feel "too quiet", and I did like the choice of sounds. **Gameplay:** So, my first try I just placed my troops evenly in all the squares, and there was only 1 guy in the hills left quite soon. But, this madman almost killed entire enemy fleet from his spot in the hills. Honestly, I was on the edge of my seat rooting for him (unfortunately he did lose in the final 1 on 1, but he fought valiantly) and I liked that aspect of the game - even though it is a bit "idle", you can get invested. You made a pretty complex system with tactics and troops, which is cool. I maybe wasn't very sure of what am I doing during choosing tactics&troops parts but I think it's because I am not quite used to this genre + and would just need more time to really notice the effects of my tactics. For example: when the battle is going on, it shows in stages what cards I have, but it doesn't seem like *I* can use them actively, but I am also not sure if they are being used properly on the field? Or quite see the different effects of me choosing different ranges/types of fire. It's just pew pew pew victory :) **Overall:** I feel like you did quite a lot, considering it's compo! The game looks complete and polished, it's a really good effort, and it feels satisfying to play. |
| Oct 9 17:33:17 | 23m 30s | Critter Season | ♥ 4 | Well I wouldn't say it's unplayable, because I could in fact play it, but yes, would love to try again after the bug fixes :) I really like the visuals and the lighting, it looks cute and inviting, nice to look at. My villagers worked hard and got a lot of resources, so they survived the winter, but enemies stayed outside even in summer and villagers couldn't come out, I suppose. So that's basically when game ended for me :') Also, didn't hear any audio at all. Is it one of the known bugs? Overall, I think it's a cute idea. I liked games made by some members of your team during previous jams a lot, and this one it quite different in atmosphere and general feeling, but I like it too. Hopefully you'll polish it so we can try the game how it was intended <3 |
| Oct 9 18:05:01 | 31m 44s | Burning Bells - Lilleborg 1259 | ♥ 5 | I like the visuals, they are pretty cool. Love the contrast of purple and yellow. Found it pretty cool when I started walking in the beginning of the game and the title appeared, gave an epic feeling. Atmosphere reminds me a lot of your previous LD game, Blakulla, I believe. But the fighting gameplay in this one is quite different, and unfortunately for me didn't feel as engaging; it seems like enemies didn't actually hurt me, and for example at one point there was only one enemy left (green jumper on long legs) and I just stood in place and watched him jump over my head in the same pattern back and forth. I liked the last stage the most as it felt most engaging. I feel like previous two could be adjusted to match the 3rd! I like the way you incorporated the theme through the main character, and he looks quite funny. It felt especially reasonable for the theme when I got big enemies, but less pronounced with small ones. The ending was so sad, I loved it and loved you made a little "cinematic" (for lack of a better word) to show it!! That really completed the game for me. Not sure if I quite understood all of the story, but I like the slightly enigmatic feeling x) |
| Oct 9 20:26:02 | 2h 21m | Da Eg Hatcha | ♥ 1 | I am glad I watched Tobugis play it on stream because I struggled with the mechanic of movement and couldn't get far at all :') I like the silly nature of the game though and simple but colourful visuals look pleasing to the eye ^^ |
| Oct 9 20:32:09 | 6m 07s | Window Creatures | ♥ 2 | Came here from Tobugis stream. As I said there - art is gorgeous! I love it. Creatures are cute, and the theme is well incorporated (also tiny screens add to it!) And I really like the idea of the game with its idle nature. Actually oftentimes I use those kinda games (like Gourdlets, or "games" with timer like Lofi sessions) while working and this is a fresh take for me! Only the pause button is right in the corner where "x" is for all the windows on my laptop so I can't close or minimize (- button) anything (like Chrome, Discord) while this game is on ^^'' I was playing for a while and never saw any creatures wander into Forest or Lake areas, and then I noticed then I can drag them manually to those areas. Guess I didn't realise they appear in the Wild and then I keep them in those areas?? ^^'' |
| Oct 9 20:56:26 | 24m 17s | About Crayons and my garden | ♥ 1 | I really like the absurdist-genre-vibe of the game. The visuals are also incredibly cute and charming ^v^ Little clouds are my favourites <3 Overall, I like the mixed-style with objects, paper drawings, etc. It gives a unique and fresh feeling! Only, music felt a bit too much for me so I muted the site quite soon >_< Also, I fell down a lot, but climbing back up felt almost impossible ;_; |
| Oct 9 22:14:05 | 1h 17m | B.E.E - Brave Explorer Evangeline | ♥ 2 | It's a cute idea to play as a bee, I like it <3 I don't mind "inverted" movement but moving around was a bit complicated, yes (I played the jam version for rating, I can feel it's a very "alpha" build). It's fun how you did credits on a building but parts of it was jumbled a bit, and one side went by too fast for me to read xD |
| Oct 9 22:23:38 | 9m 33s | Sammich | ♥ 5 | creation.jpg *^My creation* I really like a comic part of it. So cool! Idea feels unique. But I can't go back to main menu, had to reload the page :') |
| Oct 9 22:27:11 | 3m 33s | Taupattack | ♥ 3 | Pff that's such an adorable idea! The fact the receiving "damage" actually makes you win because that's all the love enveloping you... Quite unique! The art is just - magnificent. Perfection. CUTE!!! >v< |
| Oct 9 22:35:59 | 8m 48s | Quackling Rescue | ♥ 3 | For some reason when I start the game, info on the floor says to use ZQSD to move. I thought "how unusual" but it is in fact WASD as it normally is. Must be a typo? The game itself is very cute. I like the labyrinth setting and the fact I can see "shadow" of my ducks when behind the wall. And it's pretty big for a jam, wow! Impressive. While also feeling comfortable and smooth to play! I like designs of my "ducklings" as well. They look quite unique! x3 Overall - so adorable! <3 |
| Oct 9 23:30:31 | 54m 32s | Tiny Fairy Escape | ♥ 0 | What a devious plan to put an ecchi pic of a cute fairy on the cover. Made me play the game xD I like how mechanics fit the theme. But couldn't get second key, fainted ;_; Really love the pictures tho! xP |
| Oct 9 23:38:42 | 8m 11s | Let's Go to the Magical Frog Party in the Dark Forest! | ♥ 1 | I really really really like frogs. What a perfect creature to choose for your game +_+ I really like all their designs. The puzzle-y idea behind the gameplay is cool too! I was a bit stumbling through it but I like the concept :3 |
| Oct 9 23:47:18 | 8m 36s | Fifty Six LilyPads | ♥ 0 | These frogs are ADORABLE >v< And I felt like the concept was quite unique. I played one round and got Highscore 53, probably not too high... Got all the frogs on the blue team cut off and collected a lot with pink but there were still a lot of lily pads left. I felt like sometimes choosing&moving wasn't as smooth as I would expect, but not sure how to explain it in detail. Overall it felt relaxing, audio contributed to that feeling too ^v^ |
| Oct 9 23:53:35 | 6m 17s | Grubbo | ♥ 2 | The 3D art is absolutely adorable and I love the arrow-shooting mechanic! That's a pretty cool entry, looks SO polished! +_+ |
| Oct 9 23:58:11 | 4m 36s | Carrot Patch | ♥ 1 | Ahh that's cute! Really didn't want my bunny to be squished but it felt like suddenly my movement was inverted (??) Was it planned for difficulty? Did I eat a wrong carrot? Played again and it happened again - I press down button and suddenly go up instead! While before it was normal >_< But it's pretty cool to make a game in just 12 hours, wow! I think for that amount of time it's pretty cool. It looks complete and has everything it needs, which makes it feel polished. I like the tiny look of the game and the cute bunny/rabbit/hare whoever he is. Graphics are simple but cute <3 P.S. Played again and maybe it's gray carrot doing this? I ate it once and nothing happened. Then ate it and got movement reversed. Or was it a coincidence? |
| Oct 10 00:16:02 | 17m 51s | Butter Time | ♥ 3 | The butter is a cutie. The animation it does when I reach the goal is everything. Overall love the animation! I like you even did a separate one for when I juuust make the corner and start falling down. The jumping sound felt maybe a bit too loud and intrusive. While BG music is gorgeous but much quieter. Overall, a cute platformer idea, I liked it a lot <3 |
| Oct 10 00:20:59 | 4m 57s | Mon - Shared Pet Simulator | ♥ 1 | Cute. I played games kinda like that on mobile, caring about a creature. Actually smart take on the theme as it makes a lot of sense (at least in my head xD) Would be cool to add some feedback on actions. Ofc, in perfect world a cat would actually drink water or be shown playing. I realize that's harder to do, so in terms of jam, you could do at least a simple visual effect. If you have plans to expand on this game, this is something I'd love to see. |
| Oct 10 00:29:40 | 8m 41s | PEPE's wall of pride | ♥ 2 | Ah I didn't have enough time to read a lot of speech bubbles that popped up ^^'' I like how it has visually retro feel that reminds me of the early days of the internet. But you used the current apps which is funny it itself. I think it's a peculiar approach and a good contender for Humour category, though personally I found it bit hard to play >_< |
| Oct 10 00:42:32 | 12m 52s | Are you listening? | ♥ 1 | I really like the visual design, atmosphere and feeling of the game, music and whispers in the background. You get a grasp of the story pretty quick, and it's easy to read. Games about human emotions and feelings are always captivating to me. I liked the interactive way of making choices, too, though creatures make it quite obvious what the "good" choice is, even w/o them it *is* obvious so I still like them. Got 1st ending, good one I think. Then, I replayed and got ending 3. I have a feeling what ending 2 is so decided not to go for it. But I enjoyed the game, it was short and good. Polished and beautiful for the jam. A great take on a visual novel <3 |
| Oct 10 11:20:23 | 10h 37m | Tiny Creatures: A Nimkip Story | ♥ 4 | Ah it really is like Pokemon! I thought it was nice. Cool idea to incorporate the theme, and make the creatures visual a series of dots which also, I can imagine, helped finishing the game faster (art takes a lot of time, I should know!) I suspect you probably didn't have time for that, but I am kinda missing the music :( it feels so quiet. When I realized I am using specific-colour creatures to make a special attack, that made me a bit sad. It seems they completely disappear from that, poor things :( Even though they can be "restored" I was pleasantly surprised there is time to hang out and check on them between the battles, though! That's cute ^^ Though the mechanics there are a bit confusing to me. I couldn't quite figure out HOW do I feed and clean them, even though I read the tutorial >_< |
| Oct 11 20:38:39 | 33h 18m | Escape from Wonderland | ♥ 3 | The art is just gorgeous, and it combines well with soothing music which creates a magical atmosphere, and it's curious to see someone from the jam also used Alice in Wonderland as their inspiration after seeing the theme! I know in mine it's not nearly that obvious, but it really was one of the stories I was thinking about while creating it (and there even is a spot on bookshelf with the book itself) so I feel like we are on the same wave in a sense with a theme and appreciate your take on it! Besides the theme, I wanted to point out how graphical style looks quite unique due to effects that add texture to the models, and animation adds a lot (on Alice, on cards - it looks smooth and pretty). Background looking like a book illustration is a perfect touch. Quite honestly, I have to confess I was pretty bad in this game ;_; I did complete the tutorial (which is a great addition, quite thoughtful!) but in real game I died all the time and couldn't get very far even after multiple tries ^^' That's not to say it's a downside of the game, I might be just not very good at it, and with practice I could get better (I was covering a little bit more ground with each try!) (Blocks suddenly falling down while I am standing on them were a surprise for me though! ;_;) The only nitpick I have is the very beginning of the run; the camera pans a little bit *too* slowly there, so first few tries I was just confused (died to enemy I didn't see yet, try to move into the "wall" of the screen towards unknown, fell off, etc etc). Besides that, I have to say it's quite a feat to complete a pretty polished beautiful game with gorgeous main menu AND a tutorial - in only 3 days! |
| Oct 13 11:35:54 | 38h 57m | Cosmic Themes | ♥ 1 | HTML version was a bit finicky, I opened it at first, was just black screen. Then I got stuck on one of the "next" buttons, it didn't seem to actually bring me to the next line. Reloaded the page, again - black screen. Tried alternative, which gave me: Uncaught runtime errors: × ERROR Failed to execute 'setValueAtTime' on 'AudioParam': The provided float value is non-finite. TypeError: Failed to execute 'setValueAtTime' on 'AudioParam': The provided float value is non-finite. at Howl.rate (webpack-internal:///./node_modules/howler/dist/howler.js:1557:53) at Howl.eval (webpack-internal:///./src/LD56/createGalaxyCutscene.ts:103:36) at Howl.eval (webpack-internal:///./node_modules/howler/dist/howler.js:1903:16) ERROR Failed to execute 'setValueAtTime' on 'AudioParam': The provided float value is non-finite. | Oct 17 19:29:31 | 103h 53m | Detective Roach | ♥ 1 | I've downloaded "fixed" version, but can't seem to be able to do anything. Pressed all the buttons, I am just stuck on this screen. broken.jpg" I liked the music, the drawn map on pause menu and your game cover. Would love to explore the game more but doesn't seem to work for me ;_; |
| Oct 17 19:50:46 | 21m 15s | Bobby's Beautiful Bugs | ♥ 2 | That's really pretty. Starting from main menu, it was fun putting a card on the spot to Start. Art is just beautiful. I love cute insects and this just looks chill. I especially liked the blue butterfly on the card. Played one round, it was very relaxing ^v^/ insect.jpg |
| Oct 19 16:03:06 | 44h 12m | Play With Me | ♥ 2 | Played on my phone. Maybe it made the game a bit more challenging, I am not sure. But it was enjoyable. I liked mini games and the approach to horror vibes. It's not too scary but reminds you of some classic horror games of our time. Which I found delightful. It's short but polished, which is perfect for a jam. Frog is the cutest <3 Also, kitty... You can't ask me for a high score and cover 90% of my screen! Come on! xD |
| Oct 19 17:30:23 | 1h 27m | Mini Beasts | ♥ 1 | That was quite delightful, polished and pretty, with good gameplay and attention to detail. Appreciated the little settings menu on top. Music is *fantastic* and little bugs are cute. Nitpicks: I was playing on my phone in browser and it felt a bit tedious to click on the bug again after every move, when I wanted to move one several times. Overall, really good jam game! ^^ |
| Oct 19 17:36:06 | 5m 43s | Tiny Apple | ♥ 1 | Played on my phone. Really love simple doodle-style graphics, makes it more alive and fun for me. Love the sound and animation when I tap the screen. Though I didn't feel like I can do anything at all... Tapped all over the place, did wait a bit, but conflicts kept arising and I felt powerless... Maybe I missed something? :( |
| Oct 19 17:57:00 | 20m 54s | Buzzzy Buzzy Beez | ♥ 1 | Really cute bees. Especially the queen bee. It was relaxing and easy to understand, perfect for falling asleep I think %) |
| Oct 25 05:53:30 | 131h 56m | Rescue Meow-sion | ♥ 1 | Kitties! :3 Cute art. Pretty chill feeling of gameplay, I think thanks to relaxing music. |
